Chapters The Case of a Mysterious Mare
I was sitting at my desk reading the newest report of the serial killer I nicknamed The Heart Eater, I named him or her for the fact that he or she eats his victims hearts while their still alive when I got the call on the latest victim. I was told the crime scene was located in an ally behind a local nightclub.
When I reached the crime scene the first thing I saw was the body of the mare, of course it's a mare since the other victims were mares I thought to myself. I walked closer to the body while talking to my partner,"Valentino, one of these days I would like to be on vacation." Amethyst said to me, I shook my head knowing that he and his wife were having sex when he got the call.
"What do we got?" I asked the mortuary.
"It's the same, the heart was removed while she was alive and the magical residue means that the unknown subject ate it, the killer carved the word,"SLUT" into her stomach which means she was a quote on quote slut, and according to the smell and the damage to her vagina he or she sexual assaulted her with a knife." The mortuary said.
I looked at the body and noticed he was right about everything," Valentino, we found out who our vic is." A guard called, using my magical powers I reached for the i.d.
"Continue here, Amethyst." I said.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"I have the honors of notifying the next of kin." I said.
I went back to my office in downtown Manehatten, I went to my desk and got my phone out and put the number of the nearest next of kin, I hate this part I thought to myself," Sugar cube Corner, this is Pinkie Pie how can I help you?" Pinkie asked.
"Miss Pie, this is Valentino Brightblade, of the Equestria Guardians." I said.
"I remember you, you arrested my older sister's ex-boyfriend after he beat her." She said.
I remembered her, when I first joined the Guardians my first case was on domestic abuse involving thirteen women, the last one was Pinkie's older sister Octavia,"I remember, anyways I'm afraid I have bad news, your younger sister Bellamina, she was murdered." I said.
"What,how?" She asked, she sounded like she was about to cry.
"I'm so sorry Miss Pie, but she had her heart removed and then it was eaten." I said.
Pinkie said nothing, but I heard her crying on the other end," The Heart Eater, killed my sister, I would like to get some friends to help us on the case." Pinkie said I told her that I would allow it if they could be trusted.
The next morning Pinkie went to the Golden Oaks Library to see Twilight, when she reached the library she saw Twilight and Trixie leaving,"Trixie, Twilight wait!" Pinkie called. Twilight and Trixie stopped to wait for Pinkie.
When Pinkie caught up she explained what I had told her," I'm sorry, Pinkie." Twilight said, Trixie nodded her head in agreement.
"Twilight, Trixie I was hoping the two of you could help me and the Guardian in charge with this case, please?" Pinkie asked with a pleading look on her face.
Twilight and Trixie both agreed to help, only if they could bring Doctor Hooves and Shining Armor in, to help with the case.
"Sure." Pinkie replied, Trixie ran off to go find the good Doctor, while Twilight and Pinkie went inside to call Shining.
"Hello, Shining." Twilight said to her brother.
"Twily, what can I do for you?" Shining asked.
"Big brother, Pinkie's little sister was murdered, she asked Trixie and myself to help with the investigation, and I was wondering if you'd like to help." Twilight told Shining.
"That's awful, of course I'll help. " Shining said.
Twilight thanked him and told him to meet them in Manehatten, when the door opened Twilight saw Trixie and Doctor Hooves walk through, Pinkie emerged from the kitchen with a hoof full of Spike's hiding candy stash from Nightmare Night,"The Doctor is in." Trixie said.
"Ok, let's go to Manehatten." Pinkie said bouncing up and down. They immediately got onto the Friendship Express and went to Manehatten, where the killer was waiting.
"Hey, baby, can I give you a lift?" Rapid Feet asked Firefly outside the single hearts club.
"No thank you." Firefly replied, Rapid Feet respected her decision and left.
"Hello, what are you doing out here?" Firefly asked the figure in a gentle tone.
The figure said nothing and began walking towards her,"What are doing?" She asked terrified, the figure said nothing again and knocked her out with his or her magic, and dragged her into an ally behind the club.
"Please, let me go, my family is rich they'll pay you whatever you want." Firefly said to the figure after she came to.
"Sorry, Firefly but I don't want your money, I want your heart." The figure said pulling out a knife. The figure dug the blade in deep silencing Firefly's screams.
Amethyst and I arrived first arrived on the scene of the crime,"The bastard struck again." I said shaking my head at the body in front of me.
"Our vic is Firefly Burning heart." Amethyst said picking up the victim's I.d. with his magic.
"Burning heart, as in the rich and powerful Burning heart?" I asked in shock. He nodded his head and handed me the I.d.
"Oh, Faust where are you Pinkie?" I asked In desperation, and as if being sent by the gods I heard Pinkie calling to me, I looked toward the sound and saw her and four others waving towards me,"Magnus, let them through." I said to the Guardian keeping them out.
They came towards the body being extra carful to not contaminate the scene,"Valentino, these are my friends Twilight, Trixie, Shining, and Doctor Hooves." Pinkie said introducing the four ponies with her.
"A pleasure, now do you have any questions on the body or do you want to go to E.G.H.Q.?" I asked stepping out of the way so they could see the body.
"What was the cause of death?" Doctor Hooves asked kneeling next to the corpse.
"Like the previous murders, the victim had her heart removed then she had a spell placed on her so the killer could eat the heart while she was still alive and then she was sexually assaulted by the killer, who appeared to be using a blade-tipped dildo, which is illegal to own by the way." I told them.
They all looked at me in disgust," One more question, Who's the victim?" Trixie asked looking at the victim's shooting star cutie mark.
"The victim's name is Firefly Burning heart, as in the rich and powerful noble family, she runs a local nightclub called, The Falling Star." I replied.
"Let's go to your headquarters." Shining said. I nodded in agreement and told Amethyst to look for more clues.

When we reached the temporary headquarters my unit's using I went to speak to my superior while the others waited outside her office,"No,absolutely not!" She yelled at me.
"Why the fuck not?" I asked pouring myself a glass of whiskey.
"I don't want untrained civilians involved in this case." She said pouring herself a glass of whiskey.
"Don't think of them as untrained civilians, think of them as consecutive consultants, besides you and I both know we could use the help Twilight and Trixie are both experts in magic and none of us seen a spell like this, Doctor Hooves can travel through time so he'll be able to relive the crime, Shining once was one of us so he'll be a big help."
"What of Miss Pie?" She asked pouring me another glass.
"I have no idea, she's just here because her sister's a victim." I told her.
"Damn it, alright they can stay, only if you send them pictures of the crime scene." She said to me drinking her whiskey.
"Thank you." I replied finishing my drink.
"Valentino, if they screw this investigation up I'll retire you myself." She said with a giggle and a bite of her lower lip as she slowly walked towards me.
"I love you too, Symphony." I told her, we then shared a passionate kiss while we held each other close.
I left the office and told the others to follow me to the war room,"What are the Guardian's?" Twilight asked following me.
"The Guardians are a police force dedicated to the ponies of Equestria, they deal in the most dangerous crimes." Shining replied.
"You should know Shining, you used to be one of us." I said to the group.
We finally made it to the war room, inside the war room I introduced the five ponies to my unit and superior who came up shortly after,"Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Trixie Lulamoon, Doctor Hooves, and Shining Armor allow me to introduce you to my unit, our psychological expert Doctor Phorphious, our victimology expert Cloudjumper, my partner Amethyst, our sex crimes expert Waterdancer, her partner Maximillian Magnus, our obsessive crimes expert Emerald Eyes, our media expert Mystery, her partner our drugs expert Heartland, and our extreamly lovely superior Symphony Silverheart." I said.
After introductions I pulled out the case file,"Ok, now that introductions are over it's time to explain why they're here, you are all here to help catch a killer, who murdered sixteen counting today's murder seventeen mares and ate their hearts, the only thing the mares had in common was they were locals at the Lonely Hearts Club, downtown." I told the group.
After I reviled the facts of the case the group split up to go do their appointed jobs.
Elsewhere somepony was up to no good,I need another heart." The said writing on the wall a message in blood which read
THE FOOD FOR THE SOUL, IS ONE THAT BEATS AND MAKES THE HEART STRONGER
We arrived on the scene of the eighteenth murder,"You've gotta be kidding me." I said looking at the body.
"Buddy, I have a question, what's with you and Symphony?" Amethyst asked acting innocent.
"She's pregnant with my child." I replied happily.
"Valentino, congratulation!" Amethyst said excitedly.
"Our victims name is Penny Pincher, she owns a child pornography club here in Manehatten." Heartland said.
"So the killer now killed a criminal." I said with a questioning look.
"Heartland, did you here that Symphony and Valentino are about to be parents?" Amethyst asked excitedly.
"Really, oh my Celestia congratulations Valentino." Heartland said hugging me.
"Thank you, Heartland." I replied.

Chapter 4: Calderon and Venture into the Dark side
Wondering around the darker part of Manehatten is probably the dumbest thing you can ever do,"What's with the children?" Twilight asked curiously as we walked past lots of different foals,"Prostitution." I said bluntly,"Manehatten has one of the largest foal prostitution rings in all of Equestria." I continued.
They starred at me like I was insane,"What, you asked." I explained,"And before you ask, the only reason why we don't arrest anypony Is because the mayor legalized it." I continued. Twilight looked like she was about to puke, thankfully she didn't,"I think you told us enough." Shining stated angrily.
"Yeah, yeah." I shot back at him.
"Where are you taking us?" Trixie asked.
"The Dark Side, a nightclub filled to the brim with foaliphiles and foal prostitution." I explained,"It's run by a stallion named Vincent Calderon, one of the most dangerous drug lords and foal prostitution ring runners in all of Equestria." I continued. It took a few hours, but we finally arrived at The Dark Side,"Look I know Calderon, he trusts me so let me do the talking." I explained,"No argument from me, partner." Amethyst said sarcastically.
Every pony else agreed and we entered the nightclub.
"Mister Calderon, Valentino arrived." One Calderon's men said to him.
When we entered the nightclub we saw foaliphiles getting off via sexual interactions with the foals, drug addicts abuseing their bodies with a dangerous drug called Bliss, and a lot of armed thugs. I looked over to the far side of the club and saw the black unicorn stallion with a white long mane, and scars all over his body,"That's him, Vincent Calderon." I said to the group,"Just act natural." I continued.
Little did I know our presence here was going to alert the killer to our presence, and this would end badly for us all.

Capter 5: Pinkimina meets the killer
"Valentino, it's good to see you." Calderon said standing up from his table, I had to admit it was good to see him again, even as I sit here writing this it was good to see the old colt again,"Hi,Calderon." I said happily giving him a hug. I could tell everypony was confused, but that mattered little to me,"Now, Valentino is that anyway to talk to me?" Calderon asked breaking off the hug and putting a hoof on my shoulder,"No sir, but given the circumstances." I said hoping he'd understand.
"Of course, I understand." Calderon said sitting down and extending a hoof allowing me to take a seat. I obliged and sat down,"So, what can I do for, a Guardian?" Calderon asked.
"Has anyone came into your club recently, who was hassling your property, specifically your girls?" I asked as casually as possibly. Calderon looked at me like I was nuts,"Are you kidding, everyone has a problem with my children, you'll have to be more specific." Calderon stated. Ok, this going to be harder then I thought, I thought to myself,"Calderon, you'd know this individual, he or she
"Do you know where we can find him?" Amethyst asked in anticipation.
"Yes, he lives down town 214Bridleway." Calderon stated. I felt thankful for his help, I got up and shook his hoof thanking him for his help,"Thanks, dad." I said thankfully to Calderon, every pony was confused now I could feel it in the air,"I regret to say we must leave now." I said turning around to take my leave,"Son, your mother and sister are dead, you barely speak to me ever again, and I have to hear from your wife Symphony, that she's pregnant." Calderon said standing up. I turned around and stared at him,"Son, I'm dying of Leukemia, I want to be there to see my grandchild be born, please don't go down the same path I did." My father begged.
Bridleway was my favorite part of Manehatten, it was where I married my wife after all, but I was not here to relieve good memories, but to catch a killer.
We came to the address of the suspect. His name was Earl Grey he was a famous tea shop owner who lived with his concubine Blanc Muerte I always found that a bit ironic. "Ok, Everypony let's go." I said knocking on the door. After a long pause I knocked again,"Earl Grey, Equestrian Guardians open up!" I yelled. Still no reply, so looking at my partner we decided to kick the door down. Upon entering we found Earl Grey lying on the floor, his neck was snapped and his chest was cut open, and upon the wall written in his blood was the message: The debut must be repaid.

The Dark Side & The Return of Pinkimina
I looked at the murder board looking for something, anything I possibly overlooked then it dawned on me,"Guys!" I yelled running up to my co-workers. They all looked at me in curiosity,"I realized what we missed, I had Autumn Equinox run background checks on all of the victims, turns out they all use to be prostitutes working in the Dark side." I said to the group. Trixie and Twilight looked at each other then at me,"We found out something as well, there's a reason why you've never seen a spell like this." Twilight said grimly,"This type of spell is a dark magic spell it hasn't been used in years." Twilight continued.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the building Pinkie and Doctor Hooves were still working on a reconstruction of the murder weapon,"Hey, Pinkie I've been wanting to ask are you ok?" Doctor Hooves asked in sincere tone. Pinkie looked at him and began to cry, her face contorted and became a deep shade of gray, her hair deflated and became flat and strait,"No, I'm not I thought I could keep my feelings of my sister in but it didn't work." Pinkie wailed in a loud sob. The Doctor knew that Pinkimina just arrived out of Pinkie's mind. Her sobs became so loud I could hear them,"What's going on?" I asked in a angry tone, it didn't take long for me to realize why she was crying,"Oh, shit." I said aloud when I realized it probably wasn't the best idea to bring her into this case, because she's too close.
