Chapter 1
The students
It was a quiet morning under Princess Celestia’s sun. The birds was singing, the plants growing beautiful, and everyone was enjoying the peace and quiet of the morning. The employed men and women going to work for another day. While many kids were enjoying their summer vacation with each of their little friends, while making bonds and memories with new and old friends together. Flower shops were opening for the business of selling all shades of roses, irises, and even lotus to the couples that were walking the streets, or the unlucky man that forgot his special someone’s birthday. Old and new friends everywhere were coming together to remember past memories and make even more new ones. Yes, we can all say that today, everything is going to be a great day in Equestria.......
That was what I was going to say until a certain navy blue princess got some unidentifiable news from her older sister.... there goes this beautiful morning.
“ What is the meaning of this !” Was heard all over Canterlot, and every conversation came to a rapid end. This came from the very goddess that rose and lowered the moon every night and every dawn. She had on her usual outfit; a long and flowy dress that every women in Equestria would kill to wear. The goddess was a fair beauty. Her navy blue celestial hair, her well read mind, that even being gone for a thousand years didn’t affect. Her usually calm and cool attitude to everything and everyone around  her charmed men and women alike. . . that was the case until this morning that is. . .
“Dear sister, I know I’m a little late in telling you of this but you know as well as I do that this  must happen.” said the older of the two goddess; Princess Celestia.
“Yes sister, I know that this must be done but, I do not see why it must be me.” the younger sister said, still trying to understand her situation.
“It must be you for the reason that you are more fitted for this task at hand,” The solar goddess said with a warm motherly smile that could melt hearts made of nightmares.
Taken in a deep breath of air so not to further the migraine of the morning. Luna, the goddess of the, moon looked at her sister sighed a few moments more passed before she replied, “ Fine, I’ll do it, so who is to be my Lunar Student?” The last words were spoken with a snarl.
Celestia was happy to see her sister hear her out for once in one thousand-years, and it only took five hours! That has to be a record! “Yes,” The older princess breathed, “I’m really happy to hear that Lulu, now your students do not live in Equestria, I’m sure that you remember the Islands called The Oceno Islands. You should start packing your bags because. . .”
“Wait my students do not live in Equestria? And what do you mean by students,” Luna paused,  “How many are there?” She said instead.
“There are three of them and. . . sister you. . . you . . .  don’t  remember?” Celestia started to say, but then trailed off at the end.
“Remember?’” Luna asked. It was not like her to forget something this important. She always had a good memory , especially about anything that was important, and getting not one, but three new students sounded very important. “Why did Celestia trail off at the end there? What am I forgetting?” Luna thought.
“Remember what Tia?” Luna asked again.
Celestia wasn’t sure if it would be the best thing to tell her sister about that moment in the past. So the sun goddess did something that she hates to doing. . . she lied to her sister, even worse, she altered a memory of her’s.
“Remember the bet we made right before I gave Twilight that test, remember sister?” Celestia in a matter of fact tone as her magic ruins on her hands started to glow as she held them behind her back as she started  a memory spell to alter the night of Twilight’s coronation.
“ Hmmm... no… I... I don’t seem to remember any bets on that day... hmmm,” The Night Goddess paused then was hit with a memory, “Oh wait are you  talking about that if Twilight passed and became a goddess that I had to take in students?” Luna asked, still not sure if that even happened... it could have happen when they went out to celebrate. That night Luna promised to not do jello shots ever again.
“Yes, that one. Now start packing your things the Oceno Islands are a three day trip and the Elements of Harmony will be accompanying you there. You’ll meet them at the train station, then go to Baltimare and board the SeaHorse. I’ll have more information for you then, in the meantime get ready.” Celestia finished the lecture then quickly stood up and   to started to leave her sister’s room, but when she got to the door she stopped.
“Oh and Luna?”
“Yes?” Luna answered as she looked at her older sister that was at the doorway of her room.
“The Oceno Islands have changed from the last time you or I was there, so try to keep the Elements of Harmony and yourself out of trouble.” The sun goddess finished in a know-it-all older sister tone while exited out of Luna’s room with a smirk but was stop when her sister started to ask a question….
“Celestia wait why do my student don’t live in Equestria, and why are they already chosen?” Luna ask her sister. Luna still was going along with it she just need to know why she did not chose them.
Celestia turn around at Luna’s doorway and looked into her eyes. She hated to lie to her only sister but it must be done….she’ll learn the truth sooner or later. “An old friend of my that lives in the Oceno Islands wants three of his students to learn to better control their dark magic or “night magic” as they call it.” Without waiting for Luna’s respon she was out of the room.
She could not believe her sister, to remind her of that hangover but also telling her now of all times just when she was about to go and get the new survival game that was to come out today. Oh well she has to start packing, knowing Twilight she would be having Spike checking everything off a list, or something unessarsey like that.
“Come on Luna, let’s get this over with,” Luna sighed to herself as she got off her bed and started to pack all of the things she would need for the trip. Though one question still troubled her mind; why would Celestia trailing off with her sentences, she never done that before when talking to her. In the end she decided to leave that alone for now, and went back to packing. She could tell that the next few days is going to be an. . . experience.

Two Hours Later
“Come on Spike! Use some of that dragon blood in you!”
“Oh geez, let’s see you carry all of  Rarity’s stuff and Rainbow’s and lets see how you do!” Spike, the dragon-blooded teen breathed out tiredly.
“Whatever, you shouldn’t ask to help if all you were going to do was complain,”  The rainbow haired sky-bond girl named Rainbow Dash said beated her sky-blue wings as she hovered in the air.
“Oh come on Rainbow Dash, that isn’t very nice; Spike is 5 years younger than we are!”  another girl that was of the magic-bond sighed as she carried all of her stuff in a glowing magenta field of magic .
“Yeah Rainbow, Ya'll did say that you would help old Spike over there  if he was able to carry it half way.” A third girl of the earth-bond said in a thick country accent.
“Fine. Ok I’ll help, geez, you know Rarity we only go to be gone for about a week so why  do you have all of this stuff anyway?” Rainbow asked the magic-bond girl how had a sapphire colored diamond magic ruin on her hands was the one responsible for the overly stuff bags as she moved to help out the struggling dragon-blood teen.
“I only pack the near importance. A lady must always be prepared,” The magic-bond girl sighed with a high class voice.
“Um... Rarity but the...um letter from the princess said that we would  be best to only pack what was needed.” The shy sky-bond girl of the group said as her butter-yellow wing slightly moved behind her.
“ But this is what needed dear.” Rarity said in defence
“Oh yeah what in that thing anyway it’s as big as a house!” Rainbow was not exaggerating, Rarity’s bags were big enough to be compared to a small house!  It was a pure luck that it did not destroy anything on their way to the train station.
“Come on guys; Princess Luna should be expecting us to be on time.” Twilight struggled to say the last words, as she looked back to see that Rainbow and Spike having trouble moving Rarity’s many bags. Twilight took in a deep breath and sighed, if she had a bit for every time Rarity’s over packing has made them late for something she would have enough to fix Ponyville’s School system.
Twilight, looking at the massive bag, thought on how to make it easier to move. Soon she had an idea “I think I’ve have a spell that would make the work easier...” Shutting  her eyes she focused her magic on the multiple bags and thought about one word: small. As Twilight started the spell her six point purple star ruin started to glow in a light-purple as a magical field surrounded the bags. Spike and Rainbow moved away, not wanting to get caught in whatever spell their friend was doing. The house size bags started to get smaller and smaller until...
“Done,” Twilight spoke as the magical energy started to fade away she felt a sense of pride as she used the spell with more success than last time, no one still could find Spike’s now dust sized magazines.
Just then a girl that was an earth-bond with pink hair bounced around the  mini-bags and picked it up like it was nothing at all, “Wow Twilight! You’ve gotten really good at that spell,” she rushed through her sentences, “Think you can use it the next time the Cakes have to deliver a wedding cake?”
“Sure Pinkie I’ll see what I can do. Now let’s get to the train station. I’m sure the princess Luna is waiting on us.”
The Element of Hamoy got to the train station only to see that princess Luna was, in fact, waiting. After everyone said their goodbyes to Spike and as the girls board the train Twilight stop to  remind him to do all of his chores and work and help Big Mac on the apple farm and to check everything off the checklist and then.....
“Okay Twilight I get it already do everything that I normally do when you girls go off on an adventure, just get going before you get left behind already,” Spike stated with his usual sarcasm.
And with that the girls board the train and was off to Baltimare on what seem to be a long trip ahead good thing that Pinkie brought the party game for the train ride the long 13 hour train ride...fun times right?
Meanwhile in a dojo in the Oceno Island capital
A lone figure was sitting at a desk in a room lit by one lone candle. The figure was reading a letter that has appeared on his desk not too long ago as the candle fire was the only thing that was a lit in the room the  lone figure sat at that desk reading the letter with focus that put Twilight to shame. The figure finish reading the letter and moved closer the the lit candle reviling him to be an old looking man somewhere in his late 80’s but that was not his turn age in fact none know just how old this man is none except two goddesses.
“So it’s almost time hmmm?” the old man said in a rough voice,
The old man put the letter down and sat back in his chair to think about what he just have readed he know that this day was coming but he didn’t know it will be so soon. Just as the old man was about to look at the letter one more time a knock came at his door.  Not wanting to get up the old man just use raised his hand and the magic ruin that went all the way to his shoulder glow an off golden light as he used some of his magic to unlock the door.
“You may come in now.” the old man said in his rough voice .
The door opened to show a woman that most guys had to do a second look . She was fairly tall compared to other females with a long curly hair with those adorable glasses on. She was wearing what to look like a short loose fitting dress that only came down to mid-way showing of her well toned abdomen with a pair of pants that when about to her knees.
“Ummm.....Master Mamoru are you alright you voice sounds a little rough and dry. Do you need a glass of water?” The woman asked with concern.
The old man named Mamoru almost forgot to use his other voice. “Whoops ….I had almost forgot I’ve better play along”  he thought to himself. “Oh yes dear would you be so kind and get me some” Mamoru said in a little less rough voice.
“Yes sir, be right back with your water.” The woman said in an upbeat voice that could match Pinkie Pie’s.
A few moments later she was back with a glass of water in hand. She walk over to Mamoru’s desk where he was still seated she hand over the glass of water to him as he drank some of it down. To be honest he really did need that glass of water. “Thank you, Yuuna.” Mamoru said as he drank the rest of the glass.
Yuuna nodded as she notices the letter on Mamoru’s desk “Hmmm....Master what is this?” She said as she pick up the letter and readed some of it  only to notice that..... “Huh I can’t read any of this hmmm....” Yuuna said as she put the piece of paper back down on the desk.
“Well I wouldn’t think you could it’s written in Equestrian so there's no way you could read it.” Mamoru said as he sat the glass down on his desk .
Yuuna looked at master Mamoru in a bit of confusion and asked, “Then how can you read it master? And also can you teach it to me master?”
Mamoru look at his personal student with a little bit of pride she was always one to want to learn more it was a wonder of the world that she is called an airhead by some of his other students and a bookworm by the rest. “I have a friend the live in Equestria and I learn it from her, and yes I’ll be very happy to teach you Equestrian my student.” Master Mamoru said with a warm slime on his face.
“Yes!” Yuuna careered she always enjoyed learning something new. But now there was another question on her mind…. ”Master if you don’t mind me asking but what does the letter say?”
“Humm...oh nothing too important it just a letter telling me how she doing and saying that her younger sister is coming for a visit with some friends. So I want you to clean the living areas to prepare for our guests. Okay Yuuna?” Mamoru mostly told the truth
Yuuna sighed and nodded yes and went to work. The old man now left in his study sat in his chair and thought to himself while his student was hard at work. “Well now Celestia you have a lot to explain don’t you.” He said in his rough voice from before. Mamoru got up from his chair he used his magic to blew out the still lit candle and walk slowly out the room and closed the door behind him as he thought to himself ‘The next few days are going to be very very.....’ Mamoru thoughts was interrupted by something falling....loudly.
“Whoops that my fault” Yuuna said from down the hallway. Mamoru took in a deep breath and sighed ‘maybe airhead is a thing to call her sometimes’  Mamoru thought as he walked to the hallway where his student was at. By the time Mamoru got to the hallway there was nothing there not a single piece of anything that look like it could make that loud sound. ‘Hmmm....maybe just maybe I wrong huh’ Mamoru thought as he walk outside for some fresh air. He look up at the moon and thought back to what that  letter said. “The darkness of the world is awakening....hmmmm? Well Tia I guess it is time for us old timers to step out of the way and the youth of time step in .” Mamoru said as he heard another loud noise coming for the living area following with another “Whoops” with it . Mamoru looked back to the moon and sighed “I just hope that from us stepping out of the way be a bad thing.” Mamoru said as he walked back in the house.

The train ride to Baltimare was only 5 hours in and it was easy to tell that one of the passengers was not happy with the long ride.
“I’m soooo broad is their any thing to do on this train?” This passenger was one of the top sky-bond flyers in all of Equestria and one of the Elements of Harmony this rainbow haired girl was walking pacing on the train with nothing to do while all of her other friends was busy with their own things to do.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie was playing a game of tic tac toe, Rarity was drawing some new designs for her new fashion line, FlutterShy was asleep, Twilight ,like the egg-head she is, was nose deep in a book most likely all about the Oceno Islands no doubt, and even Luna had something to do as she was playing with her hand gamestation, and hear Rainbow Dash without hers.
“Rainbow, why didn’t you make sure you had everything before we left Ponyville?” Twilight asked without looking from her book.
“Because I had to check in with the weather team before we left and I guess in the rush I forgot to pack some of my stuff.” Rainbow said.
“Don't worry Dashie as soon as me and AJ are done playing our game you can join in. Or I got a idea why we play a three-way  tic tac toe!” Pinkie said with the energy to power all of Ponyville for a whole month.
“Hmmm....yeah there's a few thing wrong with you plan Pinks. One, you can only play tic tac toe with two people. Two, the last time I tried play with you in that game you beat me every time remember?” Rainbow Dash said as she shivered a little a the memory .
“Yeah well, I ain't giving up until I beat you Pinkie Pie there's no way humanly possible that you can beat me every time.” AJ jump in still think about her next move.
“Humph.... good luck with that AJ you're going to need it .”
“I don’t need your luck cause I got this in the bag.” Applejack said a she came up with the best plan in all of Equestria. “ Your move Pinkie .”
Pinkie Pie just looked at the game board and in one movement she said “Tic tac toe three in a row. I win!” Applejack looked down and saw her mistake Pinkie had Applejack two ways and she only block one way.
“Ummm...best sixteen out of thirty?”
And so this continued for the next  3 or so hours.
All of the girls have fallen asleep all of them except one the one that still was up was the one that raised the moon every night princess Luna. Who could she sleep her mind was still trying to understand why her sister acted like that when she said she didn’t remember. It’s not like her sister to hide things from her and the only reason she did not push on the matter any further was she was sure that she will get her answers at the place where she is to find her new students speaking of which she was wandering about her new student what would they look like, act, speak, and how was she going to train them. She hated working with so little information but she must be patient she will have her answers very soon at the Oceno Islands.
The Next morning and the Baltimare Train Station
As Celestia’s sun shone high in the sky early in the morning the Elements of Harmony and the lunar goddess got their stuff of the train and lucky Twilight’s spell on Rarity’s bags didn’t not wear off during the train....that would have been a morning wake up call. As the rest of the girls unloaded their stuff of the train Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Applejack, who was the first ones to unloaded off of the train, was taking in the incrediable view of the sea-port city.
The view was something that they never seen before in their lives'. The big wide city, the many people move about the city much more than Ponyville’s population. The high tall buildings the many shops and eateries that was busy with work and the many people coming and going. further down Pinkie pie saw a ice cream shop, Rainbow Dash the Baltimare  Stadium where the Wonderbolts performed their famous High-Sea show. AJ wasn’t looking at city her eyes was fixed on the vast ocean that shined a beautiful sky blue. As the other girls finish unloading their bags everyone caught onto what Applejack was staring at and everyone could not believe their eyes. Even Luna who in her long life have seen the ocean many of a time before was in a state of awe. Again everyone was reminded of the peace that is Equestria that until....
Rumble
Everyone’s eyes turned to the source of the noise only to see that it had come from none other than their pink haired friend Pinkie Pie. ”Whoopie look like I need to refill the tanks.”
All of the other girls couldn’t agree more so they went to the nearest food joint to get something to eat. And while the sun was up in Equestria it was night time on the Oceno Islands where we find three young adults one the age of twenty and the others the ages of nineteen just a few months off was walking down the street .
The Oceno capital
“So what do you think will happen?” one of the nineteen year olds asked with a female’s voice
“I don’t know he was wanted for a series of crimes so who knows what going to happen.”  The twenty year old said also with a female’s voice. “What you thinks going to happen?” She asked the other nineteen year old.
“To be honest...” The nineteen year old started this time it was a male’s voice. “it’s all up in the air... I mean the man was a trusted official for crying out loud, so I can’t say what will happen. But we have nothing to do with it any more so what happens is up to the feudal lord. I just wish I could be there to see the look on his face. “ The male nineteen year old finish.
“Yeah well whatever the feudal lord does to him he got what coming to him.” The female nineteen year old said. “I mean he nearly started a war that no one could win I still don’t understand why he would go through all that trouble just to start something that wouldn't work?” The female nineteen year old said. “What do you think, Star?”
Star or by those who don’t know her that well Hoshiko turned to one of her best friends and said “I think you’re right it does seem like a lot of work just for a small war with no winners in the end. I think he was after something more.  The question is what?”
The other two though on this too as Star did make a very good point why start a war when you don’t get anything in return?
As the three of them walk back to their homes the male nineteen year old stop dead in his tracks and had a dead look in his eyes as if he just heard the whispers of a ghost. He look around to find where the whisper came from but the only ones out was him and his friends. Just as he was going to stop looking he heard the voice again this time he did nothing as he tried to listen to the voice to him the voice sounded female but he could not tell for sure as he listen some more he could make out what the voice was saying
‘You must hurry time is running short it is up to you and friends to save this world from those who seek to destroy it...’ The voice was saying more but the teenager could not hear the rest a it faded out. He open his eyes only to see his friend’s faces in his
“Guah!!!” He jump back a few feet with a blush on his face as he was freak out of his mind.” Why are you standing in front of me staring at me like that?” He asked with his face still a little red.
“We was trying to  see if you were okay, you just stop walking and the next thing we know you eyes went all darkish. We try for like five minutes to get something out of you! You okay? This hasn’t happened since we was kids.” The female nineteen year old asked with a little bit of concern in her voice.
“Huh...y-yeah I’m fine.” The male of the three said as he look to the moon that was shining high in the night sky. ’It almost sounded like that voice was coming from the moon but that's impossible...right?’
The three friends started to walk home again not knowing the future that’s ahead of them.
Back on the Sea City of Baltimare
Our young heroes after having to watch Pinkie devour a meal that could feed a small family. “How in the wide wide world of Equestria did you eat all of that?” Twilight asked still in complete shock.
With one last might burp Pinkie look at Twilight and said “ What are you talking about Twi? I eat like this all the time.” Pinkie said as though it was the most common thing in the world.
All of the girls just looked at Pinkie still all in a state of complete shock. Trying to move the day along Luna got all of the girls attention with a slightly louder than needed ‘ahem’
“Now that's done with we all should get down to business” Luna open a letter that she received this morning,” Ahem, now we will be boarding the SeaHorse from there it will be three days trip before we get to the Oceno Islands. After that there should be a guide to being us to the dojo that we’ll be staying at while our ship is in port....”
“Whoa, whoa, princess you mean we’ll be staying at a real dojo like with ninja and stuff” Rainbow Dash said.
“Oh come on Rainbow Dash” AJ started. “now you should know that ninja and all that other stuff ya'll are in to ain’t real.”
Rainbow Dash shot Applejack a mean look and was about to say something when everyone’s favorite egg-head looked away for her book to dish out some knowledge on her friend Applejack.”Actua-”
“Actually Miss Jack, on the Oceno Islands there are specially train students in both magic and physical conditions to complete special missions that is giving by their ruler the Feudal Lord, if my memory serves me correct.” Luna filled in stealing Twilight’s thunder. “Also the Islands is home to many dragon-blood hybrids, and their magic is somewhat similar but not the same as ours. Oceno magic comes not only the person but the environment itself, however this makes their magic harder to control and master. So special schools have been build to help them to  control their magic. We will be staying at one of these schools during our stay.” Luna finish her lecture on Oceano's magic.
Right as Luna had step-in Twilight started to read the book with more fury than ever before, this going completely ignored by Luna as she went back to filling in the Elements of want they will be doing in the Oceno Islands . “Now, where was I....oh right our ship will be in port for four days, during these four days it will seem that Celestia would like that you six get to know the three that will be coming back with us. Also like I said we will be staying in a dojo there will be two to a room: Applejack you will be sleeping with Rarity, Rainbow Dash with Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie with Twilight. Now, if there is no questions we should get ready to leave our ship should be arriving shortly.” And with that the girls was off to set sail to the Oceno Islands.
The SeaHorse was not the ship the Elements and Luna was expecting it look like a true blue pirate ship! Everything you can think that was on a pirate ship was there a wooden deck a long mass with a lookout post at the top, a black sail flag with a white skull and crossbone, and even a captain quarters speaking of which....
“Yo-ho-ho, mates it looks like our passengers have finally arrived.” A big tall man  in a large black captain’s jacket with a white dress shirt with dark skin, gary bread , and a pegleg said, more like yell, on the top of his lungs to his crew. “Look alive you land-loving dogs.” Just then men and women alike came from the lower decks hurried at the sound of their captain’s call and, then a figure jump down from the crow’s nest of the ship and landed on it’s feet with what appear to be no damage what so ever. A second look at the figure would review it to be a her. A girl with fire pink hair wearing an eye patch in a sleeveless blouse and baggy pants that had a few too many belts ,in Rarity’s anyway, mind holding what seem to be maps of some short.
“Ahoy captain, it seems a storm a ’brewing.” The girl said and Luna could tell from her voice that she couldn’t be any older than sixteen.
“Aye that it is little one that it is.” The captain of the ship said as he looked dead at the Lunar goddess. “So you be the ones me and my crew is to be taking to the Oceno Islands hm?”
Luna having to deal with the Royal Guard did not even finch to the tall and powerful looking man. “Yes, I’m princess Luna and these are the-”
“I be knowing who you are and why you are standing in front of mah ship , your majesty.” The captain interrupted. “Oh yes your sister is a very convincing women indeed and she know how to tell a good story.” The man said. “Well? What ye be waiting for come on aboard the SeaHorse!”
The girl who seems to be the first mate of the ship turned to the crew and started to give out orders.” All right you seadogs get this ship in the water and  load up the land lovers stuff aboard, and you two” she pointed at two not-so smart looking crew men “clean something damn it!”
“Y-yes ma'am!” The two said in a panic voices and started to find something to clean but was not looking where they was going and ran into each other. They looked up to see the first mate give them a look that would give Fluttershy's share a run for it’s money. Panicking once again the two got to their feet and started to mop and wash each other’s faces....
“Why we keep you two on board is a mystery to me .” The first mate said coolly
“Come here little one” The captain said. “Princess this here is my first mate Aiffliy” He introduced the girl. “ And I be captain Black Cloth it is nice to see some beautiful faces.” Captain Black said to the girls.
“It’s sure is nice to meet the Elements of Harmony and the Lunar Princess on the same day too.” Aiffliy said.
“Well let us not waste any more time we set sail to the Oceno Islands!” Black Cloth said to his crew as they all responded with a mighty “Aye! Aye!” And with that the Elements and the Lunar goddess set sail at last to a land  that they know next to nothing about with a pirate crew on a ship for three days.....what could go wrong?
