Every Sunset has a Shimmer of Pink
Everyone loved Pinkie's parties, no doubt about that. Vynal sat behind the mixing table, doing her regular great job of disk jockey, whatever rich kid who had volunteered to be host regretting it now, house getting wrecked by the kids who got hooked on the punch, and probably because some jackass spiked the thing.
But through all this, the great music, funny sights, everything, Sunset Shimmer could not enjoy this party.
"Stop it!" she screamed as another punch landed on her arm.
"Look at her squirm!" one of the boys laughed, punching her in the stumic.
"This is what you get for all your antics, bitch." another, the leader, landed one on her face, before signaling the others that they 'had better things to do.'
Sunset just sat there, crying. It was all she could do, her whole body hurt, and she - in short- was a mess.
And that was how Pinkie found her, half passed out, brused and cut, tears still flowing down her face.
Pinkie gasped and ran over. "What happened!?"
"I...I don't want to talk about it..."
Pinkie gave her a worried look like she wanted more, but let the topic be. "Come on. My house is only a block away." She called for AppleJack, who picked her up and carried her to Pinkie's house. "Just lay her on my bed." Pinkie commanded before running to go get medical supplies.
AJ just nodded her hat, sat her wounded friend down, and apologized for having to leave, but she knew she would send Granny Smith into a panic if she wasn't home soon.
Pinkie came back in the room, medical ointment in hand. gently, she knelt down and began to rub it onto Sunset's cuts. It was painful, but she did her best not to move, and just lay watching Pinkie work.
"Doesn't that hurt?" Pinkie asked, moving to the next cut.
"Like hell." she smiled. "won't Mr. and Mrs. Cake be mad you're home so late?"
"I'm home this late every night. I think they would be more mad at the thought that I got in a fight or what you did to me."
It took a moment for those words to register, and when they did she wouldn't help but but blush. "Pinkie... I... I can't stay here overnight."
"Yes you can. If something bad happens to you, someone should be there to take care of you." she stood up to put the ointment back.
"Pinkie..." through some pain, Sunset reached out and grabbed Pinkie's hand, desperately trying not to blush, she tried to give the girl a soft look. "Thanks..."
Pinkie set the ointment on the nightstand, kneeling down so her face was at the same level as Sunset's, just as the sky began turn pink through the window, the first rays of sunlight begging to come out as Pinkie gave her a soft kiss and whispered, "you're welcome, my little ray of sunshine."
Sunset Shimmer's first thought for the day? 'Score!'
