Something just got pancaked...
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe head lights cut through the dark like a knife on butter. The military grade truck drove slowly into the garage with the engine running fully to move the payload without damaging an ounce of it. The driver, a young, tall and thin man with brown hair who has the intelligence to make what he wants ,pulled up to a forklift and turned the engine off and opened the door. With a push of a button in the truck, the lights in the room turned on to show a large enclosed area with several cars, trucks and other equipment with cargo containers stacked up off to the side.
He was about to start the forklift when his cellphone rang in his pocket. He reached down to grab it when his German shepherd, Firework, ran up to him. "Firework sit" he ordered. She sat and waited with her tail swung side to side as he looked at his phone.
"Damn boss again" he hits the answer button and starts out "OK what kind of fucked up hole did you dig your self this time?"
"Ha-ha very funny, you know that this is from upstairs, now my boss is starting to think that your trying to get out of this so he wants you to get him something new." He said.
"OK so this time its not a spin-off of an old weapon it's an all new one?" as Scott asked.
"Yes, he also wants to know about what your making this time instead of a surprise like last time."
"Yes I remember, with the rail gun sniper rifle, I still think the commander shit himself when the watermelon exploded like that" Scott said with a chuckle.
"We are getting off topic, what are you making this time?" He said with a stern voice.
Scott looked back to the truck and started "I'll give you a hint, it was a myth about the soviets during the cold war."
"Are you insane!?!" He started "What do you think the commander will think when you show up with Red fucking Mercury?!?"
"I think he will like it, it's new and not based off of some other explosive that's been made and no one will be expecting it. And I do believe it will be a better bluff then nuclear explosives because its so small." Scott jousted.
"That may be but it still counts as a chemical weapon." he concluded.
Scott groaned in anoints "How do you know that the commander wont take it? Besides, the work is almost done and if he does reject it then I have a back up plan that only needs to be tested for the time being"
"And what is that?" he asked curiously.
"It's a twin barrel fully automatic assault rifle that only needs a max of 3 solders 2 if they are trained well" Scott said while looking to the work shop where the beast was hiding.
"OK at least you have a backup for this, ill call you in about 3 hours with the commanders response, I still think your digging your own grave with this red mercury stuff." He added.
"Andrew, relax a little, everything has gone to plan so far and this time I have a backup build so I just cant lose." Scott explained.
"Just don't fuck things up with this or both of us are caned." he added then hanged up.
Scott closed his phone and changed his attention back to Firework who had shined the floor with her tail by now.
"And that is why I prefer a dog over a room mate. You don't say that ill mess things up" He spoke with a calm but slightly annoyed voice.
Firework looked back and gave a bark and ran up to him. He got off the forklift and played with the once attack dog with his hand and claw. The claw was nothing new to him, he had it as well as the other mechanical parts since he was 15, which was around the start of his hellish life and career.
Thinking back to what made him so different from over 7 billion people on the planet. It made him wonder why it happened and whether it was truly an accident, or a pissed off group of kids he showed up at the science show with a Emuasaurus that he made himself. But one things clear, people cant kill him easily with twin hydrogen reactors for a heart and his hole right side made of steel plating, wires, and plenty of pistons with the force to snap a neck with one hit. His left side has the same strength but is still biological and untouched.
He motioned Firework to go back to the lab and went back to the task at hand. Three boxes and a small 15 gallon tank. The boxes mostly had paper work in them but what he really wanted was the Plutonium and Uranium as well as steel and lead. The tank had three 5 gallon compartments to it. One held Mercury, one held Radon, and the last one held Hydrogen because one, he used it to fuel most of his cars, and two,to counter act the weight of the Mercury in the tank.
One by one he loaded the materials onto a small trolley that would move them to the shop with a push of a button. Once the trolley was under way he started to the shop to look at the Uranium that was to power the new tank.
Once he reached the shop, he tipped towed up on Firework who was too occupied with a chew toy to notes him. On a nearby desk was a small bell on a string he used to play with her when he first got her. He grabbed it and slowly moved to the dog from her 6 o'clock. Once he was right over her, he let the string extend to its full length and hung it over the unsuspecting dogs head. He gave it a little jiggle and the dog rolled over, eyes wide and mouth open fully to try to get the bell. In her attempt, Scott laughed at how many times she had repeated the move. He rubbed her on the head and walk over to the trolley to tend to the contents. He had been working on computerized tests on the tank and had all the materials in place except the Uranium of which he now had.
He shifted his focus from the boxes to his computer which was beeping and had a red flashing light that said "Warning" on it. He shifted over to see what had happened in the compound. When he clicked on the warning light a small bar graph and a map of the island with the main compound testing room popped up. The bar graph would gave looked normal to anyone else but to Scott it said that high amounts of tremors had created problems with the equipment. The fact that the tremors only damaged the testing room baffled Scott. Tremors always made problems and paper work for him when they happened, so he made all the buildings on springs so they would stay in one spot. But since the computer even alerted him about damages made him even more confused, if it was as big as the computer claimed it to be then the whole island would be damaged, but since it was only in the testing room, he decided to take a look. The tank was there to so if things ended up as a miscalculation, then he should send the trolley with the uranium so the tank could be tested for real. And if something had happened then the trolley could be sent back.
So off he went in his 7 ton transport truck. He had also wanted to test and check some other guns and weapons he had in his arsenal that rivaled any small countries. Of which he had a long sword that he made so it would light anything on fire. A twin barrel .50 caliber machine gun with an ammo generator. As well as an over the shoulder Gatling gun with an ammo generator that could switch from bullets to small one foot unguided rockets. Along with laptop, a hand held Tesla canon and 25 seismic censers that he needed to test. The truck could reach 70 MPH but Scott only put it up to 25 on the roads on the island to keep the need of maintenance down to a minimal. The road ran right past some of his best works including the paddock that he had the Emuasaurus in. Ever since the first one was made in the lab, he created a small herd of 8 in all. He had made a breading population so he could study some habits they had when they bred. And it was so he didn't have to keep remaking them from the emu egg. He reached the main compound in 10 minutes and there was no sign of any problems from the outside. Scott drove up to the garage and parked the truck next to the outer area of the testing ground. The stretch of land was mostly grass that led up to a man made mountain that he used to stop rounds from hitting passing ships on the ocean.
The tank, which was parked in position ready to fire once the power was supplied to the copper veins of the beast, was the size of a small house and can take one out at almost 2 miles. Scott was only able to test it once when he had all the wires he had run from the island thermal power plant and wind turbines running to the tank to get the required power level. When he gave off the shot it buried itself 15 feet in the mountain and shorted out half the islands lights for a week.
So since everything was just fine, Scott allowed the trolley to enter the area with the fuel rod and got ready to move it to the green monster. The trolley came on time, with the box intact. He had put on a white airtight uniform and had started at the box. The wood was easily removed and after that was the lead box that was made airtight to keep it from leaking. It required a 6 decimal number to open and had 3 side locks that needed 3 different keys to open them. He always used something that he could remember and something that would take standard guessing a week straight to find out. So he revolved the 6 wheels so the number 7-9-13 was in line.
The box opened with a hiss and revealed a 4 inch long 1 inch wide rod of Uranium. Using a pair of 3 foot long steel tongs to remove it out of the box and into the tanks awaiting fuel compactor. Once that was over with, he checked a computer to see if there was radiation in the air. The results where negative but showed high amounts of helium in the air. With that he tore the uniform off and discarded it in a nearby waste bin.
Within minuets of the power activating in the tank, He placed a remote activator into the tank so he could fire it from a safe distance. He took the remote controller over to where his truck was parked. He checked the systems and looked downrange to make shore that nothing was in the way. With one move of the switch, the tank shot out a supersonic round of steel and lead from the barrel, then all hell broke out. The four inch thick barrel split into 4 long steel strips that bent in every direction possible and shot the tank into the building behind it. And from aside from that, a swirling vortex had opened up and seamed to stand still for moments only. Then without any warning it started to pull, not on the building or equipment but on Scott himself. In a desperate attempt to stay out of it, he lunged for his truck and grabbed the lower bumper. The vortex was still pulling on him and appeared to be growing in size and strength. He grabbed the lower bumper with his claw and almost embedded it into the steel. Then he started to move. It wasn't him losing his grip on the bumper, it was the truck losing its grip on the ground. Then in the following moments, the truck went airborne with Scott still holding on for dear life. And with that both Scott and the 7 ton flew into the vortex.
Falling...
That was what Scott was doing with the truck in front of him. Below was a forest that was almost perfectly green with a swamp. In his thoughts he thinks. "where the hell did that thing send me? How am I going to survive a fall from this height? And should I still be holding the truck..." Before he knew it, he let go of the truck and pushed it away from him so if he did survive the fall then the truck wouldn't crush him. Then, something kicked in.Remembering a study he was taking on how to absorb more force to the body, he moved his arms to shift his body and had his arms and legs out stretched to the impending destination below him with slight bends at the joints so he wouldn't brake his legs or arms on impact.
Then he hit a tree, hard. He was spun out and instead of hitting dirt he hit water He hit the muddy lake bed with tremendous force but he still lived the impact. In a moments notice, his truck rolled up to him undamaged. Not caring why, he jumped into the drivers seat when he saw a reddish color on the side. looking at it more it appeared to be some kind of liquid. the only thing he had on his mind was "it's blood" looking back to see what his truck had used to lighten its fall. What he saw baffled him, it appeared to be a large, yellowish animal that Had 4 heads. 1 was looking at Scott and the other 2 where looking at the 4th one that had become a bloody pancake thanks to the truck. Then all 3 heads looked at Scott with one thing in there eyes "revenge".
