Eclipse Over Equestira
Chapter 4, to kill a thestral king
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI soared through the air at the speed a bullet train would have had a problem keeping up with, on my trusty steed, Nightmare Moon. We were flying low, a few meters above the frozen wasteland of the north. I wore my glowing armor, goblet, and necklace, and Luna wore her blue armor and saddle.
"What's the plan!" I yelled through the storm.
"we go to the Crystal Empire, confront thy brother, and SMITE him!" the princess yelled back.
"How long until we get there?" I said, my goblet covering my face.
"We have five point two four one minutes." she replied.
"So, what's the story on Eclipse, then?" I asked. Luna turned her head slightly towards me.
"We where siblings, we and our sister defeated Discord, he became the king, because he was the eldest, I went into depression seventy years later, we heard of an empire under threat, one escaped to warn us, his name: king Crimson Quartz the third. He betrayed us for his protection, but Sombra killed him anyway, king Sombra injured my brother. Me and my sister banished Sombra, but lost the glistening empire. Brother was sent to hospital, we and Tia became the monarchs. After a while, Theia changed, he became a Thestral-alicorn, and grew fangs. He became ruler again.
But, every so often, he would order a pony to enter the castle. I and Tia found that he drank the blood of the ponies! He 'played' with them! He would 'play' with their bones and organs" she took a breath to calm down,
"We and Tia had no choice, we fought Theia, and destroyed the old capital, which is now the Everfree Forest, trying to stop him, we lost one-sixth of our growing nation. After a while, I came to the curse that was bestowed on my 'brother'" she said it as if it where dirt "then... I became...Nightmare Moon." She finished, looking as if she would cry, I looked mortified, my mouth agape,
"That's twisted!" I said, shivering at what happened.
"Never mind, we are here" she said, nodding her head in the direction of the Crystal Empire, famous for glistening, even when things look slim...But not this time. The blue dome was now a deep orange, with more holes than a changeling's leg, Luna instantly went to full speed, fearing the empires end. We charged through the broken barrier, both of us gaping in horror, as the fields of grass wilted and caught fire, as houses slowly transformed into masses of obsidian. The Crystal Castle, the centre piece of the kingdom, was already a standing, obsidian structure, with barley any glowing spots left. The streets where flooding with dull-colored masses of ponies struggled helplessly to escape small, orange cages, that could barley hold one pony.
"Castle!" I yelled, Luna complied and flew in the direction of the obsidian Eiffel Tower.
Luna flew as fast as she could towards the black spire, she tried to get to the balcony, but was grabbed in a orange ball.
"Greetings, sister," said a deep voice. Luna looked down at the balcony,
"Cadence!" She screamed. Looking down, I say what Luna was screaming at, on the balcony, was the battered form of
princess Cadence, next to her where two katana’s with steel blades. Standing on the broken, right hind leg of the pink princess was the armored form of Theia, he smirked at his sister
"She was just too easy, Lulu," he said, lifting Cadence's chin with his grotesque wing, "All it took was-
"NEVER CALL ME THAT, YOU MONSTER!" Luna screamed, in the royal Canterlot voice, Theia only laughed at the amateur threat "Or what Lulu, you know how much I love 'cutting' you with my taunts." He said, calmly hitting the pink alicorn’s cheek with the spiked tip of his bat-like wings, cutting her flesh, Cadence screamed in agony, Luna's eye twitched,
"DON'T YOU DARE HURT HER; YOU KNOW WHAT SHE MEANS TO ME!" Luna said, her voice an eldritch screech, tears welling up in her eyes. Theia laughed even more, he dug his hoof deeper into the fracture in Cadences leg, her crying was filled with screams of agony as her already-shattered Third Metacarpal was being grinded against the red and orange metal.
Luna sobbed as she hit the barrier with her hooves, she looked at the pink alicorn's face, it was bleeding and crying her left eye was a black bulge, her muzzle was soaked with blood that oozed from her nostrils, her fur was dark and damp from tears and dried blood.
I sat on Luna's back trying to make sense of the situation, I put my right hand on the sobbing monarchs' shoulder. Luna shot her head up, her face damp, her sobs replaced by screams of anger, she stood up, and shot her brother a glance that could stab a dragon though its titanium scales,
"THEIA ECLIPSE, YOU HAVE KILLED COUNTLESS AMOUNTS OF PONIES, YOU MAY HAVE DRANK THEIR BLOOD, YOU MAY HAVE FORCED THEM TO EAT THEIR OWN FLESH, YOU MAY HAVE KILLED THEM WITH THIER OWN ORGANS, BUT YOU NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER, HURT MY DAUGHTER"(1)
The barrier that one held us melted into hot lava. Her colours inverted; her coat looked bleached, her mane a bright golden brown. Her serpent eyes glowed an unnatural shade of red, which would put Tartarus to shame. And her armour exploded in heat, as the gates of hell where blown off in her tempest of anger that could consume anything and everything in its path.
Theia smirked and threw the helpless body inside the black-rock castle. He then flew towards his raging sister. The glowing 'Luna' did the same and they both flew together at a speed which could almost break the sound barrier. Theia, drifted hazily to the left, letting his spiked spike on the tip of his wing collide with his storm of a sister, and leaving a meter-long gash on her side. Luna, (with me on her back) spiralled into the walls of the castle, screaming like a Windigo.
She broke through the one-meter wall of the castle, I cringed as the large chunks of obsidian slammed into my armour, leaving gashes of skin showing. Luna broke through the next wall, this one was a quarter of a meter thick, but it was still painful as more off the shards pierced Luna and me. I broke the enchantment on the saddle and jumped off the alicorn, as she hit another wall, this time she created a large crater and slumped onto the hard floor.
Is stood up and cringed with pain. I looked at my right shoulder pad, it had a large dent which grinded at my bone. I grabbed it with my large goblet, and tore it off, it was like taring paper, and it came off easily. I heard a weak groan from behind me, I turned around,
"Luna!" I cried, as I ran towards the light blue figure. I turned her over, and my eyes began to well up with tears,
"What happened?" Luna muttered through her broken jaw, her breathing getting weaker.
"Luna, don't do this to me!" I cried. I the heard a small chuckle, my face hardened as I turned around to see the monstrous face of Theia.
"Do not worry, cryfilly," he said, grinning, "She will live, as long as you can stop me, or until the last of her blood oozes onto my clean floor, because you could not save her! Ooh the sorrow is just simply delectable," he sighed with happiness as he then spread his wings.
"I am going to rip. out. Your. Throat, you son of a bitch" I yelled, as I drew my katana. Theia smirked at that remark, he then lit up his horn, and two swords appeared next to him, one blade was three meters long and a quarter of a meter wide, the other was a dagger compared the first, but it was double sided and each blade was a meter long.
"You do not threaten me with that sword, nor will I pity or give you mercy." Theia said, spinning his double-sided sword.
"You say 'show no mercy' when you wish for it more than ever," I said, dryly, pointing my sword at him.
Theia smirked, and then lunged his great sword at me. I rolled to the side, dodging his blow, Theia, on the other hand, saw it coming and bucked his hind leg, kicking me in the pelvis. I grunted and swung my sword to the left, hooking it onto the chain mail that kept his boot to his leg armour. I twisted the katana, and dug it down, and pulled the sword towards me. Theia gritted his teeth at the sword cut into his lower-leg. I kicked the armour, digging the sword deeper into his leg.
I twisted the katana again, breaking off the armour. Theia screamed in pain as a chunk of his flesh slumped onto the floor. He swung his thick sword again, and it lodged it into my left shoulder pad. He hit the hilt, causing it to pop off.
I looked up at him, and grabbed his horn with my goblet. I jerked his head to the left, then hit his face into the wall. He blindly lunged with his double-sided sword, I ducked, and it hit the wall, snapping the blade in two, I smirked and hit his face again with my fist. He cursed through his clenched teeth, as he jerked his head to the right, and hit me in the back of the head with the flat of his great sword.
I flew to the right and slammed into the wall, beside Luna. I looked to my right, and looked at Luna's face, she was still breathing, but slower than before, I looked at the gash across her side and hind leg. I looked forwards, noticing Theia was walking towards Luna, his great sword grinding on the black floor.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, and here I thought you would be a worthy opponent, looks like little Lulu is not going to make it." His lip quivered and his good eyes' pupil enlarged, he snickered again revealing his large fangs, I lifted my right hand, only to be stopped by half of the double-sided blade,
"Please, I prepared for the elements of harmony! You think I would not prepare for a spiked fist?" He said, I only smirked,
"No, but... But did you prepare for this ?" I asked, kicking him in his groin, causing Theia to scream, his blade fell to the floor. I seized the opportunity, and grabbed the blade, and ran towards him
"Enough!" Theia shouted, blasting a wave of energy, knocking me backwards several meters, my armour falling to pieces. I tried to get up, and yelped in pain as a large, throbbing pain came from my arm. I grabbed my arm and looked at the god, he held a golden dagger connected a chain necklace with a gold and amethyst gem inside, hanging on the end. I looked at my chest, seeing that my magic dampening necklace was gone, I looked back at Theia, his dagger glowing a bright orange, and the necklace burst into flames. He smirked again
"You really thought I would not know my sisters' tricks?" He asked his dagger glowing again "Looks like Lulu's light just burned out" he said, a large ball of energy emitting from his dagger, aiming it at Luna. I was too far away to intercept the blast, so I looked around me, and saw my battered chest plate. Theia's dagger shot the flaming ball of energy at the heavily wounded princess, I grabbed the still glowing metal and ran towards Luna, and threw the chest plate in front of the princess.
The two objects collided, destroying both of them in an explosion, shards of steel and gold flying in all directions. I took the chance and darted to a closer cover to Theia. I looked around, to see if there was an object of any use, I only found scraps of armour… and the bow I dropped when crashing through the walls. I picked up the glowing object, an arrow materializing in my right hand. I drew he bow, the arrow catching fire, I crouched next to the obsidian wall, a large blast of energy tearing off more chunks of the volcanic rock. I took a breath in, and leapt out of cover, doing an aileron roll, before firing a flaming arrow at his grotesque leg, that was missing a chunk of flesh and muscle.
I landed behind another obsidian wall; I got another arrow and drew the bow again, and looked across the room, seeing that the arrow had shattered his fore-right kneecap, and was boiling his blood, causing him to howl in agony,
"I will slit your throat, like I slit my sister's side!" he screamed, barley holding the dagger. I launched another flaming arrow at him, this one going through the bace of his right wing.
Theia dropped the dagger as he felt a lightning bolt running through his body. He turned to look at his wing, there was a large gash running through it, and it looked like the arrow had torn several nerves, causing him collapsed onto the floor. I dropped the bow and ran towards the dagger. I grabbed the dagger, and aimed it at his barrel. I smirked and the dagger glowed orange, blasting a ball of energy into Theia's stomach.
Theia was blasted onto the balcony, the explosion tearing off his right wing, most of his left, his fore-right hoof, and most of his armour. I walked slowly towards the balcony, stopping only to pick up my golden katana. I stopped several feet away from the squirming god. Upon closer inspection, I saw half of his face was gone, revealing the torn muscle tissue, cracked jaw, and fractured skull. His horn was chipped and cracked, and shards of metal where lodged into his skin. I was a few ribs and bones jutting out of his body. I also saw one of his arteries' where showing, where half of his fore-hoof was before.
He looked at me a face of disgust, and snarled,
"get... Away from me!" he wheezed, I only smirked in response,
"Your artery, wings, leg have been severed. Your most of your thirty six ribs, your jaw, most of your intestines, and many of your other bones have been broken. Both your lungs have been punctured. Half of your face is gone. And I could snap off your horn and leave you to rot on this balcony, because you have at least have five minutes before you die of blood-loss, your lungs filled with blood, or your ribs stabbing your heart," I said bitterly, "But, I want the final blow, you, worthless excuse of a god, a king, and a brother, you little. piece. of. SHIT!!" I shouted, aiming the dagger at his face, letting it glow brighter than magnesium in pure oxygen.
He winced as the heat boiled his flesh, I squinted, trying to see his face. I then jerked my arm to the right, shooting where the castle and the balcony connect, causing a gigantic explosion.
"You fool!" Theia stuttered, "you've kill us both!" I smirked,
"Not unless one us makes it out before it falls." I said, raising my katana above my left shoulder, with both hands on the hilt.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp object dig itself into my right leg, snapping my Fibula like a twig. I dropped my sword and screamed in agony. I then felt a charge of energy run though my body, bursting a nerve or two. I fell to the ground, paralysed.
I heard a scream of shock; I looked down, seeing Theia's horn was torn off, and lodged into my right leg. I tore off my right sleeve, and tore it in half; I wrapped half around my hand, and the other in my mouth. I took a deep breath in. And bit hard on the sleeve, as I yanked the horn out of my right leg, a fountain of blood escaped my artery. I took the sleeve out of my mouth, and tied it around my leg, under my knee, to stop myself from bleeding out faster.
I got onto my stomach, and crawled towards the screaming god. I used the horn to get myself onto my knees, then I chucked, the beaten horn back inside the castle. I turned back to Theia, who was struggling to get onto his three and a half hooves. I stood up, panting, I trudged towards the god. I lunged at him, catching Theia off guard. I landed on his stomach, winding him. I began punching his monstrous face repeatedly. He tried to kick me with his stub, trying to stop my blows with what was left of his grotesque leg.
Theia spat at me, I put my hand to my face. He then whacked his metal hoof-plate on the side of the head. I collapsed onto the floor, Theia rolling on top of he. He then proceeded to punch me in the face with his metal hoof-plate. He then shoved what was left of his fore-right leg into my mouth, attempting to choke me with his blood! I tried to push his leg out of my mouth, the pressure feeling like it would snap my jaw off.
My arms became limp, as my vision blurred. My throat was being stretched as the blood constantly filled my lungs. I was about to give up, water welling up in my eyes, Theia's voice slightly faded, but I could still hear it,
"looks like little Lulu's friend will die knowing that he failedher!" Theia laughed, shoving his leg deeper down my gullet.
I still felt like I could do something, but I couldn't. 'What, what's that?' I thought, keeling something in my left pocket. I pulled it out, seeing a metal rod, with a plastic cap,the scalpel! I took off the cap with my thumb. I looked one more time at Theia, closed my eyes, and hit his face with my right elbow, then I jabbed his right eye socket with the scalpel.
Theia screamed, as the blade penetrated his skull. He yanked his leg out of my mouth, and fell over, landing next to the balcony. I turned over instantly, throwing up a large amount of blood. I tried to stand up, the hole in my right leg pulling me down. I limped slowly towards the dying monarch, trying my best to smirk with a busted jaw,
"Now for my phynal t'ik," I said, putting my jaw back in its socket, "I vill... Ahh, there go, for my final trick of the night, I will make a scalpel... Disappear." I finished, waving my hand for emphasis.
"Abra," I said, stomping on the scalpel, lodging it into his brain, Theia screaming an eldritch howl, "Kadabra!" I finished, twisting my foot on the metal stub, Theia's mangled body slumping onto the hard, black floor. (2)
I spat on his corpse, then I walked back inside the castle. I grabbed my katana, and I walked back to the balcony entrance. I looked down at the crack that was separating the balcony from the castle. I held up my sword, and plunged it into the gap, causing the crack to enlarge, the balcony, and its passenger, starting to collapse.
I grinned, then looked back inside the castle.
"No, Luna!" I cried, running to the bleeding monarch, she has been bleeding severely, her breathing was jagged, it looked like she had broken a lot of ribs. Her heartbeat was faint, but still there, her chest rose slightly, and slowly.
"Luna!" I said, tears welling up, "Luna, wake up, please... Get up." Tears where flowing freely now, I had no idea what to do,
"W-wh… w-where's… Cadence?" Luna whispered faintly, her head collapsing onto the cracked floor. A feeling of nausea welling in my head, my vision became blurred, and my entire body ached, and I felt lightheaded.
"Not...not now" I wheezed, turning to see where Cadence was, my body becoming limp. I shook my head, gritting my teeth, my brain feeling like a train-wreak. My eyelids drooped, and my face lost its look of sorrow as my aching body slumped onto the once again white floor as the entire castle was turning back into its normal state.
