In the year 1345 when ponies and other mythical creatures roam the earth, or the renamed Equestria, the human race had almost been completely wiped from existence when the last few remnants decided to wage war with the creatures. But, alas, humanity could not withstand the united forces of the Equestrians and fell.....or so the ponies thought. A starship of humans left Equestria and fled to the stars. For almost 1000 years the ponies advanced and advanced.
Though eventually conflict arose the between them. They waged war with each other. The lands rulers, Princesses Celestia and Luna, took notice of the conflict. But the sisters had rather mixed feelings about the matter. Princess Celestia sought to end the fighting and reunite her beloved kingdom. But she had no idea that her sister had become so jealous of her and the ponies frolicing in her sunlight but resenting her beautiful night.
Eventually that jealousy led to Princess Luna finally taking up the courage to face Celestia and propose creating a new, sister kingdom, The New Lunar Republic. She sought to create a new paradise for her subjects who followed her into her night. But her elder sister forbade it. She feared it would tear the already weakened kingdom...forever. Luna, both saddened and angered by her sisters decision, finally chose that her sister was not fit to rule the kingdom.
And that the Princess of The Night was to be the one and only true leader of Equestria. Celestia took notice of Luna growing more and more distant by the day. Like she wasn't herself. Finally Celestia chose it was time she spoke with her sister. But to her dismay, she only made things around. She begged her sister to speak to her so she may help, but Luna only demanded Celestia leave her be. Struck and hurt by her younger sisters words and resentment, Celestia finally broke.
The two entered an extremely heated argument that raged for hours. Some say it could be heard throughout Equestria. However, this argument not only divided the two sisters even more, but their hatred for each other grew more and more by the day. Luna insisted she be allowed to prolong her night. Arguing that it’s beauty was not being appreciated. Celestia however, refused her sisters demands. Saying that things had this order for a reason.
But at that point, Luna could care no longer for her sisters words. She left the castle that night to raise the moon, and did not return. Celestia scoured Equestria to find her sister, but never was able to find her. Far away from Equestria, Princess Luna was able to found her New Lunar Republic in peace with the several hundred who followed and supported her.
Their land flourished. , and Equestria began falling apart. The two sisters had no idea that their fighting had reawakened the once locked away Discord. An ancient being whose only joy in life was spreading chaos across the world. Upon his reawakening, he immediately began doing so once again. But with the princesses bickering and the rest of Equestria in turmoil, no one could stand up to the challenge of facing Discord.
So instead, many ponies sought to join Discord in the hopes they would be allowed to aid him in his quest for chaos. This was the start of the Order of Discord. This group went with Discord and helped him to bring chaos to Equestria. Until one day Celestia decided she'd had enough. The princess knew she would need an army to banish Discord once again.
And so she formed her Solar Empire. And with it she shattered the harmony of Equestria, forever. For the next 2000 years the factions waged war on each other. During which, the Changeling Swarm took advantage of the conflict to avenge their fallen queen. However in the midst of it all Celestia, Luna, and Discord vanished. To this day nopony knows where they went or what happened to them.
Then, finally princess Cadence stepped forward, hoping to reunite the once powerful kingdom of Equestria. And at the blink of an eye, when the inhabitants of the land were too busy fighting each other, the human's returned from the sky to reclaim their beloved Earth. The humans were devastating and still the factions did not unite to defeat the humans again. Instead they fought and fought. Killing and fighting amongst each other. And only one can take Equestria.
This war would wage for time immemorial. The conflict would ravage the entirety of Equestria and beyond. Some saw this war as the end of life in the once beautiful kingdom. But the brave ponies who fought in the midst of the conflict would be the ones remembered throughout the ages. Those who rose to the challenge, those who would give their lives to end the conflict and emerge victorious, or not at all.
These are the true heros of Equestria,these are their tales, this, is that story. And these, are those trying times.
