I'm tired. Let's tell a tale.
The sun shone directly above the castle of Canterlot. In it, plenty of guards ate their lunch in the mess hall. It was, after all, simply a time to refuel their energy after long, arduous hours of standing guard for Canterlot.
"Hey, it's that new pony."
"Oh yeah. What's up with the cast though?"
"Beats me. Maybe he's got into a fight or something."
Flash Sentry limped towards a table with two other guards. He had on a cast with the words 'get well soon' and a smiley face on it. But his face wasn't 'smiley'.
"Hey guys." Flash Sentry placed his lunch on the table and sat down beside them.
"You're still alive! That's great! Think you can cover slot four for me?" A brown pony with blonde mane jabbed him playfully.
"Yeah, Bottom Tumbler, and you can go tell your mum you secretly joined the guards so that you can peek on the maids."
"Ha. Real funny, Flash. You mention that any louder, and I make sure your little secret gets revealed."
"Woah, wait a minute," interrupted a white mare with blue mane. "What's this secret? You guys hiding something from me?"
"Flash's got something to share, White Face." Bottom Tumbler elbowed Flash Sentry.
"I will share as much as you want to tell your sister that you borrow her dolls for 'research'."
"Ohh." White Face's mouth grew wide open and his eyes enlarged. He let out a small giggle and brought his hoof to his mouth as if there was a microphone in his hand.
"Hey! As much as this is concerned, she thinks some pony kidnapped them. And those are 'action figures'," said Bottom Tumbler, which caused White Face to chuckle and shake his head.
"That isn't a secret. We all know Bottom here play with dolls."
"Flash Sentry's got a crush on the Princess!" blurted Bottom Tumbler.
"Really." White Face raised an eyebrow. "Which one?"
"Princess Twiiiilight," said Bottom Tumbler in a sing-songy voice.
"No I don't," said Flash Sentry.
"Sureeee."
"Okay, maybe she's a little pretty, but I don't have a crush on her!" Flash Sentry pointed a hoof at Bottom Tumbler's chest.
"Saw it with my own two eyes," said Bottom Tumbler. "It's the day when Princess Twilight had to do some errand to retrieve a package or something inside a mirror. They bumped into each other and bang! True love at first sight. Aww. How cute."
"You say any more and I'll cut off your tongue."
"Somehow, on the same day, he came back with a cast. Must have been too focused on Princess Twiiiilight."
"Ha. As if. I told you how I got it."
"You never told me," said White Face. "Yet again, I wasn't around that day. Took leave."
