Set in the Spectrum universe and starting six months before the formation of the Lunar Republic in the multilayer pegasus city of Baltimare.
Shadow Amalgam was born to a long line of expert smiths, craftsmen, and enchanters. Her entire life has been spent in training at the prestigious Storm Palace, to become the next great pony of the amalgam line. As a slave she has had little to worry about beyond her training and trying desperately to earn her cutie mark. Her dream has always been to finally be sold to a master who could use her skill to its fullest. But when Flame Blaze, a minor noble decides to acquire her for his personal smith she finds that he has plans for her that extent far beyond a mere smith. Now she faces the prospect of slowly losing herself as she becomes a monster of pony, cold mechanical metal, and even an ancient monstrosity. Can she cope with becoming the new monster of Baltimare, the Dragon Reaper?
