Whatever Happened?

"Umm. Um." I replied.

     "Well Twilight?" Shining asked. "Answer me! Are you two fillyfriends?"

I was too stunned to talk.

     "Yes, we are." Rainbow said.

     "I wasn't talking to you, Rainbow Dash!" He exclaimed. He's never yelled like that before.      "Answer me!" Tears welling in his eyes.

     "Yes." I quietly said.

     "What?"

     "Yes! We are! We're dating."

     "H-how long, Twily?" Shining Armor asked.

     "A-a day before I moved in with her." I said.

     "Why didn't you just tell me?"

     "I thought you'd be mad."

     "Well you thought right." He said, obviously hurt. I walked up to him to nuzzle his shoulder. He turned away. "Come one guys, let's go." He said.

     "Well, that went well." Rainbow said. I shot her an angry look. She shrunk back.

     "I can't believe this happened. Especially like this." I said sadly. Rainbow came to hug me but I moved away. I needed to talk to him. I ran out the door, knowing he was investigating the rubble. I flew around until I saw him searching alone. Good. I landed hard on the ground to make him hear me. He stood in his place and didn't move.

     "Shining Armo--" I started.

     "I don't want to talk to you." That broke my heart.

     "Please, just let me explain."

     "Explain what Twilight?! That you're a filly fooler?" He yelled. I stared at him with wide, scared, hurt eyes. His expression stayed hard.

     "How is that even a big deal? So what, I have to like someone just because they have different body parts than me? Didn't you say that no matter who I love, you will love too? That you will never hate me for loving someone? What happened to that?" I pleaded desperately. His expression softened a little bit.

     "Why didn't you tell me when you moved though?" Shining asked.

     "I don't know. Like I said. I knew you'd be mad at me. I was going to tell you, I promise! I just didn't want it to be this way."

     "Twilight, you guys were wet! Were you?" He said.      "Were you guys really..."

     "Yes. We-- we were." I knew what he was talking about. "We were filly fooling. I'm sorry."

     "I guess you don't have to be sorry. It's not bad for mates to mess around every once in a while." He's said. He didn't know we did it a lot. "Cadence and I do it too, not to put the thought in your head."  I laughed a little and blushed at his remark.

     "So you're not still mad?" I asked him.

     "No. I guess not." Well, that's one secret of Dash revealed. Except the other one is way worse and will get her executed. He CAN'T find out.  I flew back to the house to see Rainbow Dash.

     "So how'd it go?" She asked when I got in.

     "Alright. He's fine with it now, kinda." I replied.

     "Awesome!!" She yelled. "Now we can--" she started to say.

     "No." I said firmly.

     "Wait. What?"

     "Shining said its ok to fool around every once in a while. We did it everyday. No more for a while." I said.

     "Awwww!" She said back. I glared at her. "At least a kiss?" She pleaded. I sighed and walked toward her. I leaned in and kissed her. A few seconds later I pulled back and walked away.

     "How long?" Rainbow questioned.

     "What?" I asked.

     "How long is a while?"

     "At least a week. Maybe a week and a half." I replied.

     "Well, that's not too bad." She said. "I love you."

     I blushed. "I love you too." I kissed her forehead.

    The day had gone as well as night. The next day has come as I woke up. Dash was already cooking breakfast. "We have to go shopping later." I said.

     "Ok." She replied. After breakfast we got ready to go. I grabbed a thousand bits just in case we needed it all. We got onto the train and went to the Crystal Empire to also see Cadence, Spike, and Shining Armor. I wonder if he told the rest. Or Scootaloo gave it away as well. When we got to the empire, we went to the castle first. The guards let us in and I went towards the living area. There, everyone was in the living room listening to the radio and talking.

     "Yeah and-- oh hey Twilight. Hey Rainbow Dash.!" Cadence said.

     "What are you doing here?" She asked.

     "Just visiting." I replied.

     "Oh. Shining Armor told us." She said quietly.

     "I figured he would." I replied. Spike came up to see me.

     "Mehh. I still don't see it. Why are you guys dating anyways?" He asked.

     "Why hello to you too Spike." I said. "I don't know. We just... Are."

     "Oh." Spike said. Then Scootaloo came up to us.

     "Yeah, I remember when I walked in on you two a few times having some fun." She said. I blushed.

     "A FEW times?" Shining asked. "How much have you done it?"

     "Well, I don't know. A-a lot?" I said doubtfully. Shining sighed.

     "Ugh, Twilie, I don't know what to do with you."

     "Well if I have a say, I think you two look very adorable together." Cadence said.

     "You do?" Everyone said.

     "Yes! I hoped you two would date from the first few days I met you, Rainbow Dash." She said.

    "Um. Wow." Rainbow Dash said.

     We left and did our shopping. We got back around lunchtime. We ate and listened to the radio.

     For a few days, some workponies have been removing rubble from Ponyville to make new buildings. They worked away from us to not bother us. We went out for a fly to work out our wings. I looked at Rainbow Dash in the sunlight. The beautiful blue mare with the rainbow mane and tail was flying around slowly. The Pegasus flew up to me a few seconds later.

     "Why are they doing this anyways?" She asked. "I don't think many ponies are gonna come live here. And even if they would, they still won't cause they're scared, probably." I shrugged at her question.

     "Come on, let's just fly around." I said. "Race you to that tree over there!" I yelled dashing away. She, of course, passed me and made me twirl around in mid air. She suddenly came back, taking me with her.

     "Hey what's going on?!" I asked.

     "That tree was never there before!" She said. "And it reeks and I saw something move! Something... That was not a tree animal." She whispered.

     "What do you mean?" I asked her.

"It was the size of a HUGE stallion and it had red eyes and a black suit on!" She replied. "Come on. We have to warn those guys in Ponyville's remains.
