Chapters I'm on the run. Again.
Everypony I meet seems to despise me for some reason or another. Everypony. Every single time I attempted explaining my dilemma, they'd pass it off as a desperate attempt to get their pity. And in a way, it is....desperately honest.
I feel myself straining with every single movement. I try to ignore the pain, but to no avail. I feel like I'm tearing myself apart, but if I am, I'd rather do it than them.
More rocks hit me. Slowing down wasn't an option, but I guess my body thinks otherwise. I hope my past self wasn't this weak.
Something else hits me. Suddenly, a sharp pain in my right wing. Within seconds I'm reduced to nothing more than a cringing pile of weakness. I curl up on the ground, fighting back tears and trying to ease the pain. The ponies get louder.
They caught up, mercilessly kicking me, spitting on me, and swearing at me. The blood from my wing wasn't easing up, and they were fully aware of that.
After about 20 minutes of abuse, they left, done with punishing me for whatever I did. I continued holding back my tears, lest another pony comes in and decides to rough me up a little more in my moment of weakness.
My mind was racing, and my body tensed up. The voice sounded female. I got up, ready to leave the area A.S.A.P.
"AAAAAGH!"
My wing broke out in the worst pain of my life. She got up from below. Cyan unicorn with a pearlish mane, and some white freckles. Her eyes were a clouded gray. Looked blind.
"The hell happened to you?", she asked.
I stuttered, shocked.
"Well?"
"I-It's my wing....", I replied hastily.
"Lie down, I know what to do." Her horn lit up with a sparkling blue, and almost instantly, my pain was gone. I quickly thanked her.
"It's nothing. Only my specialty~" She turned around, revealing a red cross as her cutie mark.
"What happened with your eyes?" I asked.
"Wait, no! Forget I asked that!" I couldn't even risk offending the pony that just helped me out five seconds ago. She sighed.
"I lost my sight when I turned 8. After that, I was nearly killed by ponies I can only describe as mad."
"I'm sorry to hear that...", I felt horrible inside for asking such an insensitive question.
What is my name?
Where am I?
Where is my family? Do I even have one?
Questions stirred into my mind as I slowly awoke from under a broken-down shed I fashioned myself. I haven't a clue what it was originally, as much as I wish I did.
I heard voices from every direction. For a moment I had thought I was going mad, but then I saw them.
Bright colors clashing against the grim landscape. Fighting nothing more than the rubble and debris surrounding them-
and me.
Ponies screamed at me.
"Betraying faggot!", one yelled.
" 'Work for all', my ass!", screamed another.
Whoever, what ever I was, they didn't like it. Rocks went flying everywhere, a few hitting me. I winced in pain, I hadn't really been taking care of myself, and with everypony treating me like this, I doubt anyone else would. I did the only thing I knew how to do at the moment.
I ran.
Helpless. Physically, mentally, and socially.
That's what I was. Helpless. My wing continued to bleed, despite all my efforts to control it. I lay on the ground, weak and broken. Not the first time I was like this, but it certainly wasn't pleasant.
I was losing a lot of blood. And fast, too. If I didn't stop it soon, I could pass out. My current status with the populace wouldn't help, I'd be even more helpless than I currently am.
That's it. I wasn't just going to take this any longer. I'll show them I'm not as weak as they think.
I got up. Extremely slowly. My legs were burning with pain. It was excruciating, but it was either that or just laying here. After going through that, I slowly walked...no, limped over to a bombed-out house. I haven't a clue of it's origin, and as curious as I was, I had more pressing matters to attend to.
I entered. The door must've been blown to pieces, judging by the few fragments remaining on the entrance. It smelled of smoke and the floor was covered in ashes. I laid down on a couch, using some peeled-off fabric to create a bandage for my wound. Until I get help...that is, if I get help, this'll have to do.
I heard something. Shocked, my eyes darted around the room, looking for the source of such a noise. I saw bright shapes outside, and relaxed. Nopony could see me from here, thankfully.
There it was again, only this time it sounded like actual speech, and was much, much closer. I braced myself for the worst. Somepony was here.
