Pony Cuddles

How it all began

As you come home from school for the day you throw your backpack down on the floor with a thud. “That was a pretty uneventful day,” you mutter aloud as you walk through your house to the kitchen, opening the pantry and finding something good to snack on.

After your nice snack you open your backpack, hearing the sharp sound of the zipper as you unload your day’s homework and get right to work. The work isn’t long or challenging and you are able to get it done quickly. When you make the final mark on your paper you put everything away, clearing your area and making things somewhat tidier than before.

Feeling a bit lonely as usual, you pull out your laptop and go to FimFiction as usual, looking for something to cheer yourself up. You stumble upon a short fiction in which you and Twilight Sparkle cuddle together, but as cute as the story is it makes your heart hurt even more, knowing you will never get to cuddle Twilight. You add the story to your favorites and give it a thumbs up, wishing that somehow one day you would be able to cuddle Twilight, or any pony for that matter.

You continue browsing the site, enjoying a few of the great stories, but still feeling the pangs of loneliness in your heart. With some sadness about your life, you close the laptop and set it aside, making a small dinner of ramen noodles. The noodles cook quickly and soon enough you sit down to eat with your hot, sodium filled, tasty soup. Just as you lift your spoon for the first time you feel your phone make a vibration in your pocket, making you put down your fork to see what the notification is.

You open the message, an automated e-mail from FimFiction that you got a message on the site, and read the contents of the message. A user with the name of TwiSpark sent you a message “Still feeling lonely from earlier? I know how you feel, and I want to help.” With a small laugh you wonder how someone on the internet could possibly help you, until you stop for a second and wonder how they knew you were lonely in the first place. You decide to throw caution to the wind and send the reply “I sure am... How can you help?”

You put the phone down and return to your noodles, enjoying the taste and warm texture. Later, you start getting ready for bed, the message long out of your head by now as you shower and get dressed for bed. After you’re ready for bed, you take a moment and go through the house to check the doors are locked and turn off the lights. When you reach the kitchen to turn off the lights, you hear the doorbell ring, and walk to the front door. “Who could that possibly be at this hour?” you wonder aloud as you walk to see who was at the door.

You reach the door and look out the peephole, seeing a brown UPS van and a UPS person on the porch. You open the door and see the very large box the UPS person brought to the door, marked UPS Custom Critical Express in a very large label on the side. You look up as the delivery person asks “Package for you, Sign here” as the computer is held out for you to sign with the pen. You quickly sign the pad and accept the package, seeing nothing but a barcode on it, not even your address. The delivery person hands you an envelope “This came with the package, have a nice night!” before walking back to the brown truck and driving away.

You look down at the large package and try to pick it up, finding it too heavy to fully lift, and drag it into the house. Once inside you lock the door and open the envelope, reading the UPS receipt for the package, noting that it didn’t have a shipped-from address, only your address. Puzzled you grab a small knife from the kitchen and carefully cut the package open, unsure of the contents. You open the box to find it filled with packing peanuts, puzzled you slowly put your hand in the peanuts to find the real contents. You recoil in shock when your hand brushes against something warm and soft under the peanuts. “W...What was that?” you ask as you look at the peanuts again, suddenly the peanuts start moving as if something in the box is trying to escape.

In shock you stand there as the peanuts spill onto your floor as the tip of a purple horn pokes out. You slowly watch as Twilight’s mane slides out of the packing peanuts, followed by her head, and her wings as she stretches them out. “T...This can’t be real,” You say as you fall back onto the floor, fainting in the shock of seeing this.

You slowly open your eyes, looking up at the ceiling, feeling a shooting pain in the back of your head. “Th...W...Was I hallucinating?” you wonder as you slowly think your way through the pain. You slowly turn your head toward the door, looking at a large box with a mess of peanuts all around it, but no Twilight. “Th...Tha...That was real!” you stammer out before looking back up at the ceiling and calling out “T...Twilight?”.
