My little pony: the Next Generation
Chapter one: Family Drama
Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, Nightmare Moon escaped from her prison, only to kidnap her lovely sister Princess Celestia to make her beautiful night eternal. That is until the Elements of Harmony were found in six brave young mares, Twilight Sparkle, who contained the Element of Magic, Fluttershy, who contained the Element of kindness, Pinkie Pie, who contained the Element of Laughter, Rainbow Dash, who contained the Element of loyalty, Rarity, who contained the Element of Generosity, and Applejack, who contained the Element of Honesty. Together the girls defeated nightmare Moon and saved Princess Celestia and all of Equestria.
"And the six ponies have grown together ever since." said a teal unicorn pony, sitting in the corner of a bookstore. "I'm sure I've heard mom say that somewhere..." The pony rushed across the bookstore to the front door when she heard a voice that startled her. "Starlight Shimmer! That'll be 4 bits!"
the unicorn yelped. "S-sorry, Blue Quill, I forgot!" she stuttered. Starlight shimmer reached into her saddle bag and put four bits on the counter.
"Star, is that the Elements of Harmony picture book? Seriously, did you buy this for your little sisters or somethin'?" The bookstore owner said.
"N-no! I didn't buy it for them, it's for my studies! It's so rude of you to ask! You should really start minding your own business!" the unicorn huffed.
"You really need to stop actin' like a child, Star!" replied Blue Quill "You are royalty, for ponies' sake! And as far as I know, that is not a really respectable thing for a role model to do. I really think you should pick a non-fiction book for once? Just one? The Elements don't exist, Starlight! You really need to stop, one way or another."
"The Elements do exist!" Protested Starlight Shimmer, "And if anyone knows them best, it's my parents!" Starlight Shimmer put the book in her saddle bag and rushed out of the bookstore.
Starlight dashed into Twilight Sparkle's library to see Twilight reading to her sister, Comet while her other sister, Nightfall Flair was playing with her pony rangers again. "Mom, I need to ask you something!" Star Glimmer announced, "Huh? Oh good morning Star! What is it you need?" asked Twilight Sparkle.
"Mom, Blue Quill is being ever so rude! She says the elements of harmony don't exist and your whole life is a lie! I need you to come and prove her wrong! Can you?" replied Star Glimmer.
"Hmm let me think about it....No." Twilight said.
"But mom! I need to show her she's wrong!" Star whined.
"Star, you're...kind of um... selfish." said Comet.
"am not!" argued Star Glimmer.
"are too." snickered Nightfall Flair.
"Ugh! What do you know? You two are only nine."
"Nuh-uh, for your information, I'm nine and a half!"
Star groaned.
"Star, I love you and all, but, um..." Comet mumbled, "I -"
"Comet, don't even start!" Star Glimmer interrupted. "I'm goin' to Fluttershy's!"

Starlight grabbed her saddlebag and walked out of the library. 'what do they know?' Thought starlight, walking through ponyville marketplace, 'They don't even have their Cutie Marks!'. "Starla!" she heard somepony yell. Starlight screamed and glanced at a shadow behind her. "Midnight Flitter?" the pegasus ran up to Starlight.
"Starlight Shimmer! How's it going sis?"
"Midnight. I thought you were in Manehattin?"
Oh heavens no! I think the ponies life style is...not quite my cup of tea, per say." replied Midnight, kicking a rock with her hoof, "anyways, whatever brought you here, Starla?"
"It's Star, Nightfall." Starlight replied "anyways, I need to go to mother's, so...Can you move?"
"Oh! I need to go back there anyway to get my saddlebag. Can I come with you?" Starlight sighed.
"Sure." she said, annoyed.
"Hey Starlight Shimmer?" Midnight asked, "Why doesn't your friend Blue Quill believe in the elements of harmony?"
Starlight groaned. "First of all," Starlight said. "she isn't my friend. And second of all, I-"
"why not?"
Midnight Flair interrupted. "because she j-"
Oh lookie! We're here! Let's go, Starfy!"
"It's Starlight!" Starlight Shimmer exclaimed.
"Oh, sorry." Midnight giggled.
"It's alright." Star exclaimed. As much as Star loved her sister, she knew Night's kindness and simple point of view would sometimes cause her to act absent-minded. She peered up from the ground. It turned out Midnight was right. Starlight Shimmer was, in fact, at Fluttershy's cottage!
Star quietly opened the door to Fluttershy's cottage, as to not disturb any of her mother's animals. She looked down at the ground. The floor was covered in hay and rotten produce. 'Probably from angel., Starlight thought. The cottage was unusually silent. "She's probably putting her animals down for a nap." Midnight said. The mares slowly walked into Fluttershy's "animal room". Starlight knocked on the door.
"Mother?" she asked. "Are you there?"
The door slid open. To Star's horror, Fluttershy's animals laid motionless on the floor. All except for Angel Bunny. Angel was trembling and covered in cuts and bruises. Midnight yelped, causing the poor little bunny to hide under Fluttershy's bed.
"oh no! You poor little bunny!" Midnight Fall exclaimed "Angel, what happened?"
Angel hopped slowly out from under the bed and whimpered.
"How'd you get hurt, Sweetie?" Midnight asked. Angel gulped and took her hoof. The bunny led her and Star to Fluttershy's couch. "What's this?"
