Prologue:
Walking down the streets of Ponyville, you would think that things would be so happy and upbeat. The bright colors, the little ones running around after school ends, the parties thrown what seems like daily.
That is what most of the outsiders think. But not I. I am new here to this land. From where I come, I do not know. I remember cold and fear constantly. I got thrown into the sea by a terrible quaking and I blacked out.
I woke up in the Ponyville hospital, saw the blood on the walls and ran. I have been in hiding ever since, only coming outside at night for food. The barn I found smells like shit but it's OK. I find survival paramount over senses.
Entry One:
The ponies are pure evil. They vomit rainbows and friendship, but their eyes radiate hatred and disgust to all they meet. I pray that they do not catch me here writing in this diary. I don't even know what day it is. I think it's a Monday. Anyway, let's just assume it's a day that is like any other.
On this day, I sit here hiding under this pile of hay trying to ignore the bustle of the working ponies outside, the clattering of hooves on cobblestone deafening to my ears. Their laughter sounds like the screams of the undead. They speak in happy tones but the words I hear are those of demons clawing through my ears to tear my soul from my chest.
I fear for my life, every creak of the floorboards making me jump and bury deeper into the hay. I wonder how much of this I can take, but then I realize that if I didn't stay strong I would surely perish like all the others. Don't be fooled my hopefully pure readers. The residents of Ponyville are slowly being devoured and replaced by horrid constructs that look just like them. Enough writing for now. I'm tired.
Entry Two:
Last night was uneventful. I managed to get some apples from the orchard and a few pies from the sweet shop. They may be evil, but they make good food. I saw a few ponies scampering around the fields in what looked like arcane ritualistic movements. Perhaps that is where they hold the demon summonings? I shall check it out tomorrow night, if I can get close enough.
Entry Three:
I managed to sneak up to the ponies in the field. Their laughter sent chills up my spine. I felt pure terror as I approached, my belly as low to the ground as I could get. I heard faint whispers in the grasses and saw strange lights in the air. Those lights made me think of the sky of where I was from. Luna only knows if they actually mean anything. Once I was satisfied that there wasn't anything ahoof, I scurried back to my shelter after procuring a few apples. I shall spend the rest of this day obviously hiding.
Entry Four:
I got woken up today by a big bang from upstairs. Apparently a pony had a party in the loft and fell down into the hay stack where I was hiding. I was scared shitless and tried as hard as I could to hold my breath. The young pony didn't notice that I broke her fall. I shall make sure to watch this one closely. I think that she is on to me, testing my resolve.
Perhaps I shall go upstairs after they are all asleep and see what these "ponies" really are...
Entry Five:
I chanced a venture upstairs last night. I was worried that if I made a sound they would all awaken and devour me from inside my skull. I crept along the hallway and through the house full of soft snores. The young pony that landed on me yesterday was in the last room and her door was slightly open.
I pushed it open with my muzzle and snuck inside, my eyes slowly adjusting to the bright moonlight streaming from the window. She was sleeping soundly, only barely stirring at my approach. Her red hair made her face look like it was shrouded in fire, coiling and twisting like snakes. I wondered what she would do if she saw me in there. I still wonder.
She opened her eyes slowly enough to enable me to hide out of her line of sight. My heart pounded in my chest like a drum. I was so scared that she would find me and unleash hell upon me. But my luck held. She looked around the room and it seemed as if she stared in my direction for what seemed like days. I saw something in those eyes. Something dark and dangerous. It made my fur raise and my teeth clench for fear of letting out anything.
I waited there frozen in terror for a long time, the passing of minutes seeming like hours. Eventually she stared snoring again, and I quickly came back down here. I vowed to leave this town soon.
Entry Six:
The young one told her parents of the "strange dream" she had of a scared looking pony in her room last night. I heard her telling them at breakfast, the sounds of disbelief obvious in their tone.
I only pray that they don't believe her even with repeated tales. I will leave tonight, as soon as I am sure I can get far enough away from this accursed place as I can. Where I shall go, I know not. Luna be my guide these next few nights.
I will eat a few apples and sleep early. Goodnight diary.
Entry Seven:
I write this from the mountains near Ponyville, my travels stalled for now. Strange weather and winds obscure both mine and my followers senses. I was happened upon as I was leaving by the little pony I watched. I think she knew I wouldn't hurt her, as she only asked me what I was doing and if I was OK. I simply stared in horror as blood flowed from my nostrils. I kicked open the doors and made a mad dash for the hills, hoping they would make a good barrier against any more would be soul stealers.
It seemed like everytime I turned a corner or looked behind me, she was there. Like a vengeful demon from the pits of Hell she followed close behind. Soon she was aided by two other ponies, all of them wearing strange capes. I ran as fast as I could, but my health was declining due to poor diet and lack of excersize. The three ponies had laid traps to aid in my capture, but I avoided most of them. The last one that got me was a simple rope spread across the trail. I fell and pulled a leg muscle I think. I had too much adrenaline pumping through me to know, but it hurts a lot now.
The first pony caught up to me and stood there waiting for the others to come upon me. I still see the grins of those ponies in my dreams, the smiles turning to sharp toothed gaping holes of utter blackness. I kicked one in the flank and ran even faster than before. Eventually making it to the mountains I found the weather worsening by the second.
The three ponies I think are still out there looking for me. If not then they are telling the rest of Ponyville everything. I expect them to be upon me by tomorrow eve if I don't set out with haste. I heard the thrill of catching an pony on the run is a great thrill for demons.
Please diary, you must run. You have been my only friend through these terrible times. You must tell others of my story. I will hold here for now until I can walk without gut wrenching pain. I beg of you, do not fail me in this mission. This river should lead away from Ponyville. Warn the people of the coming evil. Goodbye Equestria.
