Chapters Twilight was in the bathroom,getting ready for the party. "It's nearly been two hours" Spike said to himself. "How much long will she be in there?"
This wasn't the first time she spent hours getting ready.
She and the girls once spent 5 hours getting ready for Grand Galloping Galla. Spike remembers the whole night like it was yesterday. He was excited that he was finally going to spend time with his friends, but they went off having their own fun without him.
Instead of being a party pooper, he left early to go to Joe's doughnut shop. That was one of his loneliest moments of his life.
*Knock* *Knock* "You ready yet darling?" Rarity said as she let herself in. Following her was the rest of the gang (Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie).
"Howdy there Spike", Apple jack said sweetly. "How ya doing tonight?" Spike felt like telling the truth, he felt like saying: not so good, he felt like saying tonight I'm going to kill myself, I need help. But the last thing he wanted is to ruin everyone's night. "Oh...I'm good" the dragon said as he lied thru his teeth.
Suddenly he noticed Twilight walking down the stairs in a stunning new dress. Rarity (of course) made the all the girls new dresses for the party. She worked the hardest on Twilight's, since it is a party for her, she had to look her best.
"You ready girls?", Twilight said. All the ponies cheered "YEAH!!!!" All the girls walked towards the exit, each one of them saying bye to Spike and in return said he said his goodbyes. He nearly started to cry, because this would be the last time he would see any of them. But he'd stop himself before anypony could see. As the group was leaving, Spike turned around to head upstairs, but was stopped by Twilight's magic.
She turned Spike around and said "Is everything ok?" Spike once again lying replied: "Yeah. Why would you ask?" "Well, you haven't been acting yourself lately, I'm just concerned."
"Twi, Im fine. Just go and have fun at your party." Twilight levitated Spike down to the ground and gave the dragon a hug and kiss on the cheek. "I'll see you later tonight, try not to have too much while I'm gone ok?" she said before walking out the door. Spike replied before watching his friend walk out "Don't worry, .....I won't."
This is it. The dragon was all alone. With his friends gone for hours and no one to interrupt him, he would finally end it all. He locked the door and looked out the windows to make sure that no one was around. He turned out the lights and began walking up the stairs to the bathroom.
He opened the door and grabbed the stool (he was to short to reach the medicine cabinet or the sink for that matter) to grab the pills. He grabbed as many pills as he could, and began opening them up.
Within seconds he swallowed 3 bottles, he thought that would be enough to overdose. After swallowing the pills he made his way downstairs to find a quill and parchment. He tried to think of what to write for his suicide note.
Before he could even begin writing, he felt dizzy. His head was hurting so bad that he fell to the floor screaming in "HURRY UP!"the dragon shouted. He wanted the pain to be over, but no matter how hard he shouted or screamed, the pain wouldn't stop. Finally after minutes of torture, the pills started take effect, the last thing Spike felt was the coldness of death.
Spike let out a gasp as he woke up in a strange room. "Am I dead?, Where am I?, Am I in the good place or bad place?" These thoughts raced thru the young dragon's mind.
He turn his head to get a good look of his surroundings. He'd seen this place before, it was the same hospital Rainbow Dash was brought to when she broke her wing. He failed his suicide attempt and now he's in a hospital.
Ten minutes later a familiar colt walked in. Spike remembered who he was. He's Dr. Flash. He's Ponyville's top doctor. "You gave us quite a fright young man" the doctor said firmly. Dr. Flash began writing on his chart, "How are you feeling?"
"Alright I guess", Spike said weakly. His throat was dry, he asked the doctor if he could drink some water. The doctor nodded, then levitated a glass of water towards the dragon. Spike gulped it down within seconds. It felt amazing.
"Doctor, how long have I been in here?" Dr. Flash looked at Spike and said "About two days". The young dragons eyes widen.
"What exactly happened doc?" The doctor levitated a chair so he could sit, and he began to tell what had happened to the dragon.
"Spike...you tried to overdose on pills back at your house, you're lucky Big Macintosh was walking by, otherwise he'd never hear you scream in pain." Spike leaned his head down and thought of what Twilight might do to him. She'd probably yell and scream at him. The last thing he wanted was to her yell.
The doctor began writing on his chart again.
"So......" Spike hesitantly said, "When can I go home?"
The doctor gave Spike a look and said firmly "Not for at least a week."
"A WEEK!!?, But I'm fine doc, really I am."
"No your not Spike, you don't seem to understand what you did." The doctor began speaking with a deeper and firmer voice. "You tried to kill yourself and unless you can prove to me that your not a danger to yourself, I'm not letting out of this hospital!"
Spikes head leaned down, he couldn't believe this. All he wanted to do is end it all so he wouldn't be a bourdon to anyone. He thought since he failed, he'd become a bigger bourdon.
"So....now what?"
"Now you get some rest, tomorrow you'll attend a group with other ponies who are dealing with tough situations. And if you make an improvement, I'll let you out. Do you understand Spike?"
"Yes...I do"
The doctor got up to walk towards the door but was stopped by Spike asking a question.
"Can....I....see Twilight?"
"Afraid not today Spike" the doctor replied.
"Visiting hours on on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You'll just have to wait. Now get some sleep, you have a busy day tomorrow."
The doctor turned out the light before exiting the room. After an hour of staring at the ceiling, Spike decided to take the doctors advice and sleep. It wasn't until at least one, could the dragon fall asleep. It was the roughest night he'd ever had.
It was around seven when the nurse walked into Spikes room and flipped on the lights.
"Rise and shine sleepy beauty."
Spike chuckled as the nurse pulled his blankets off his bed.
"Go take a shower, and when your done you can go eat breakfast downstairs. I'll be outside your room checking up on you every 5 minutes so don't get any ideas."
Spike didn't argue. He walked slowly to the bathroom. The door had been removed and replaced with a curtain, probably to make sure no one would locked the door to hurt or kill themselves. Spike closed the curtain so he could have some privacy, inside the shower was a bar of soap, a toothbrush, and a bottle of shampoo.
Spike started the shower, after a few minutes he already cleaned his body (it was quick since he didn't have any hair). After thinking for moment he decided to do something he didn't do in a while, masturbate. He came close to finishing job, until the nurse pounded on the wall.
"Hurry up in there, your going to miss breakfast." Spike decided to finish it another day. He dried himself off and made his way to the cafeteria. The nurse escorted him, probably to make sure he wouldn't run off, but again Spike didn't complain.
After having a big breakfast the nurse escorted him to this room filled with ponies. They were all sitting in chairs, that were arranged into a circle. Spike felt nervous to just walk right in there. It's bad enough that he was late, buts its even worse considering he's the only dragon in the group.
"There you are Spike" a familiar voice said. It was Dr. Flash. He was one of the ponies sitting in the chairs along with the others.
"Just escorted him from the cafeteria sir" said the nurse.
"Very good, Spike why don't take a seat right next to Robert?"
Spike hesitated at first, but began to make his way towards the seat. The colt next to Spike had a red mane with a plain yellow coat that reminded him of Fluttershy's coat. He had a few zits on his face, but what really distracted him was his red shirt with a picture of what looked like a demon holding a wand and guitar with his feet and at the bottom it said King Ruff.
"So lets go around and introduce ourselves." the doctor said. "Let's start with you Rebecca." The young mare who looked no older than fifteen. She stood up and said: "Hey I'm Rebecca"
The crowd joined in saying: "Hi Rebecca."
"Well, as you know I've been here for over a month now, and later today I'm checking out."
The crowd started clapping. Spike thought he'd better join in, he didn't want to seem like a jerk.
"Anyway, I just want to let you know that I'm really grateful for all of your support and I can't wait to get back out there."
Again the crowd started clapping, with a few whistles from Robert.
After everypony gave their speeches, the only ones left were him and Robert. The doctor looked at Spike and said: "Okay group, we have a new edition to our little gang, I want you all to give a big warm welcome to Spike!"
The crowd clapped loudly, Spike noticed Robert clapped the loudest. "Tell us about yourself Spike."
"Uh.....okay." After clearing his throat, Spike began to tell the group who he was and why he was here. "And.....I..I..thought...that if..killed.....myself...my friends would...be.......better...off" before the dragon could complete his story he bursted into tears.
He felt embarrassed to be crying in front of a group of ponies. The last time he cried, Rainbow Dash poked fun at him for days. But instead of being humiliated, the entire group gathered around and hugged him. The hug was similar to the time he was rescued by Twi, Dash, & Rarity.
"Okay" said the doctor. "That's it for today, we'll pick this up later tomorrow, have a good day." The group and Spike went for the exit. Before he walked out, the doctor tapped on his shoulder and said "Excellent work today Spike."
"Thanks doc."
"You should go to the library, get a book, and read it out in the garden"
Spike decided to take the doctors advice and headed towards the library. He looked for almost an hour before picking up a copy 'Daring Do'. After which he proceeded to the garden, still being followed at a distance by the nurse. The garden was beautiful. It reminded him of the one in Canterlot, only not as big. Spike looked around for a place to sit. He managed to find one near the fountain.
Before he knew it, it was already dusk. He was already on the 13th chapter before he decided to call it quits for the night. As he made his way to the door, he noticed Robert standing by the door with something in his hoof and mouth.
When Spike got closer he noticed the objects were a cigarette and a lighter. Twilight never liked smokers. He remembers a time when a stallion was smoking in the library. He accidentally dropped the cigarette and almost burn the tree down. He'd never seen Twilight so angry in her life. Just the thought of how scared that stallion was still makes him chuckle.
"Come on you lousy son of...DAMN IT!" Robert said angrily as he struggled to light his cigarette. He saw Spike walking to the door, before he exited the garden, Robert asked the dragon: "Got a light kid?"
Spike didn't know what to say, he's usually shy around strangers unless Twilight's around. But he decided to help the struggling colt.
"Sure...you might want to lean your head back."
Robert raised his eyebrow, and had a confused look on his face.
"Uh, okay."
Spike inhaled deeply, then released his green fire into the air. He's practice firing his breath before. He would gather some bottles from dumpsters and make his own shooting range on the library's patio.
After a few seconds the fire died out. Robert's face was priceless. It was as if he'd seen a ghost. Spike thought he might've scared him. His cigarette was lit but it was a nub now, his fire completely burned his cigarette.
"OH MY GOSH, I'm So Sorry!!" The young dragon shouted. He probably thought Robert would yell at him for burning his cigarette or almost burning his face.
"You mean to tell me, you spewed out that fire" Robert replied. "Well...y-yeah. After a few seconds of staring at Spike, Robert started to laugh. Spike didn't know why he was laughing, maybe he thought Spike's fire was puny for a dragon. After Robert was done laughing, he patted Spike on the back and said: "Dude, that was probably the coolest thing I've ever seen."
Spike was surprised, rarely does he get a compliment on his skills. He once tried to impress Rarity by breathing fire shaped liked a heart, but it failed and nearly burned her new dress in the progress. So this would be the compliment.
Spike chose to be quiet, he didn't want to say anything that'll make him look like a dork. "Why are you so quiet, I heard you talk earlier?" Spike remained quiet. "Come on kid, I don't bite." Finally Spike spoke: "Sorry I thought you'd be angry with me."
"Why would think that?"
"Well, for starters I burned your cigarette and I almost burned your face."
Robert started to chuckle. "It's okay man. It's just a cigarette and if anything you probably burned a few facial hairs. I needed to shave anyway, the nurses took away my razor so I wouldn't have another....moment"
Spike then looked at the colts arms, he noticed cuts. There was at least six on both legs. Spike wanted to ask, but decided not to. "It's okay ask how I got these you know?" Spike almost jumped. "Did that colt just read my mind?"
Robert then said: "No I did not read your mind, I saw you staring at my hooves. It's okay dude, I'm use to everyone staring."
Spike understood what it was like being stared at. When he and Twilight first arrived in Ponyville, everypony was staring at him as if he was royalty. Finally Spike asked how he got those cuts an his arm.
Robert took a deep breath and began to tell his story. "Well I guess it starts with my mother. Ever since I was little she always treated me like garbage. She blames me on my dad walking out, but this was just the beginning. Last week my mother caught me making out with my ex-girlfriend."
After taking a deep breathe Robert continued to tell his story: "Anyway, she walked in and started screaming. Saying I'm nothing but a pervert and how I'm going to hell. After she left to get groceries, I went to my girlfriends house, only to discover she was fucking my best friend. Hated by mom, an outcast at school, and watching your best friend and girlfriend fuck. Yep, that'll make you suicidal."
Spike felt sad for Robert and in way he understood how he felt. Just like him, he felt like an outcast too. He was the only in dragon in Ponyville, so you can understand why he's lonely.
"So....Spike is it? You heard about me, tell me about yourself"
"Well, okay"
Spike began to tell him everything about his life. To him hatching from an egg to arriving in Ponyville, he went over every little detail.
"Wow that's some life kid."
"Yeah...."
"So...you ever do it with that Twilight chick?"
"WHAT!?" Spike was clearly shocked, his face turned bright red. He'd never thought of Twilight of anything but a friend and a sister. Sure there were moments he did have fantasies of her, but he'd never act on it.
"Oh lord...I offended you, I'm sorry I thought I could relieve the tension with some humor."
Spike knew he was telling the truth cause his face was as red as his.
"It's okay, I know you don't mean it. Besides I'm not into Twilight I'm actually into someone else."
"Really, who?"
"Her name is Rarity"
"I think I've heard of her, doesn't she own that boutique?
"Yeah."
"Cool."
Spike looked at the clock and noticed it was ten. He realized that he and Robert have been talking for hours. He let out a big yawn and said: "Well I'm calling it quits for today"
"Same here man....I'll see you tomorrow buddy."
"Later"
Spike walked back into the hospital and was escorted back to his room. He placed his book on the nightstand and turned out the lights. Despite him being alone, he had a productive first day. But what really made it special, was that he may have finally found a friend.
Spike was once again woken up by the nurse, but he was ready. After his shower, he rushed down to the cafeteria, hoping to catch Robert there. Robert was sitting in the middle of the cafeteria eating toast and oatmeal. He caught a glimpse of Spike, "Hey Spike over here."
The young dragon rushed over towards the table. Robert's mane was messed up (probably from tossing and turning last night)
he had on a different shirt today, it was plain white but said Sup Pop.
"Guess what...Dr. Flash called in sick. Ironic isn't? It isn't everyday you see a doctor sick, huh?" Spike chuckled.
Robert continued, "Since group is canceled today, how about you and go check out a movie?"
"Wait, we're going....sneak out?" the confused dragon said"
Robert chuckled.
"No dude, there's too many nurses around, I'm talking about watching a movie in the recreational room. What do you say?"
Spike needed no time to think. He loved movies. Last year, Twilight took him to see a movie called "Elephant Pony". He didn't even care if the film was in black and white, it was good nonetheless.
"Sure, I love movies."
"Great, follow me."
They left the cafeteria and made there way down the hall. Spike noticed the nurse keeping her distance again.
"Don't worry, they won't bother us unless we do something bad", Robert said.
After a minute of walking they made it to the rec. room. It was small like a classroom. There was shelves filled with board games like: Cookie land, Ponopoly, and Surgery. Another shelf contained movies, from the looks of it, there were probably over a hundred films.
"I'll let you pick" said Robert
"Re...really?"
"Sure, I know you'll pick a good one."
"OKAY!!"
Spike examined the movies on the shelves. Spike found: Filly Wars, Moomento, District 7, Iron Colt, and etc.. Finally, Spike found something that caught his eye: It's a Ponyfull Life.
Robert stared over Spike's shoulder to see what kind of film Spike chose. "Ah....now that's a classic."
Spike never heard of this movie before. "What's it about?"
Robert gasped. "You mean to tell me, you never seen It's a Ponyfull Life!?"
Spike shook his head.
"Pop it in, my good dragon."
Spike went over to the tv, popped the DVD in, and sat right next to Robert. The opening credits started. Spike knew he was in for a treat.
The movie was over after two hours. Robert went to turn off the tv. "So what'd you think Spike, is this a classic or what?"
Tears ran down his face, but they were not tears of sadness, they were tears of joy.
"You okay Spike?"
Spike wiped away his tears.
"Yeah I am, I've never seen anything this good before."
Robert walked towards Spike and patted him on the shoulders.
"Come on little bud, let's see what kind games we have here."
They played games until the sun started to set. Right in the middle of playing "Watched it?",the nurse told them to head back to their rooms. Time flew by for the two. On their way back, they started talking.
"You ready for tomorrow Spike?"
Spike looked confused.
"What's tomorrow?"
"Duh! Visitation day."
Spike completely forgot what Dr. Hooves told him about visitations.
"Tomorrow's Tuesday already?"
"Yep." Robert replied.
Spike looked down at his feet, Robert knew Spike was depressed.
"What's wrong bud?"
"I'm scared Twilight might be angry with me."
After a few moments of silence, Robert reassured him.
"Dude, she won't be angry. If she is, she can deal with me, okay?"
"Alright" said Spike
"Alright, this where I get off." His room was 219, Spikes was 236.
"Okay, see you tomorrow Robert."
"Later, bud."
Robert walk into his room, while Spike made way towards his.
He climbed into bed. Before he fell asleep, he was still thinking about tomorrow.
Spike woke up an hour early (he was still nervous about today). He took a shower, brushed his teeth and made his way towards the cafeteria. He walked by Roberts room and saw him brushing his mane. Robert had on another shirt. It said Nerdvana. Spike decided to greet him.
"Morning Robert!"
Robert jumped. He didn't see Spike thru his mirror.
"Morning Spike, uh...have a seat on my bed, I might be here a while trying to get of these zits"
Spike couldn't help but laugh at his misfortune.
"Laugh know, you wait till you hit puberty."
They both erupted with laughter.
While Robert was tending to his zits, Spike looked around at some of his personal stuff. He saw some rock band shirts, a comb, deodorant, a pack of cigarettes, and two pictures on his nightstand.
One photo was Robert (clearly younger) with a dog. Another one was an older Robert posing with two other ponies.
"I see you notice my photo's."
Spike nearly jumped as Robert did when he surprised him.
"The first one is me and my dog, Flossie. And the other one is me (of course) with John my ex-friend, and Robin my ex-girlfriend. They were the one's I caught having sex."
"Oh....sorry." Spike said quietly.
"It's okay man.
He put the photo's down and hopped off the bed.
"You ready for breakfast?", Spike said.
"Yep, lets heave off."
They made their way to the cafeteria, and had themselves a big breakfast. After eating, they played checkers until the nurse told them to head to the rec. room. They headed to the room with the rest of the patients. They waited until Dr. Flash came in. He began to tell them what to do.
"Alright patients, in a few seconds I will open the door and you will see your friends and family, please note, that their visit is temporary, they will leave at six o'clock. We have games and food in the corner."
The clock struck eleven.
"Alright visiting hours are no-"
Before the doctor could finish, something flew open the door. Whatever it was it flew passed the doctor, nurses, patients and Robert so fast it knocked out of their chairs. Spike was then was lifted in the air by the object, who turned out to be Rainbow Dash.
"OH MY GOD SPIKE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I MISSED YOU!!!!"
Rainbow Dash then proceeded to lower Spike to the ground and apologized to the ponies she knocked down when she busted thru the door. Spike then saw the rest of his friends walk thru the door.
"Howdy sugar cube, how yer feeling today?" Said Applejack.
"I'm fine AJ."
"Oh my god Spike you should see this cake I made you, I wanted to cupcakes or doughnuts or pie or custards or..." Pinkie continued for another minute before Rainbow smack her on the head.
Fluttershy hugged Spiked and said: "I hope your okay Spike."
Rarity followed, by giving him a hug and a scarf.
"I made this especially for you darling, I hope you like it."
"Thanks Rarity I love it."
After greeting his friends, he looked to the one person he wanted to see the most, Twilight.
She walked towards him and after a moment of silence, she gave him the biggest hug she ever gave him. He felt something fall down on his back, it was tears. Spike not only felt sad, but guilty for putting her in a bad situation.
"Sp..spike, I'm so sor..sorry. I should've known that yo..your sui...sui...su..."
Twilight couldn't even finish the sentence. She bursted out with tears. Before he knew the whole group started to cry, including Spike himself.
The group started to settled down. They didn't want to cause a scene. After wiping away their tears, the girls sat around the table. Spike decided to talk first.
"What's been happening out in the world?"
Applejack decided to answer first.
"Well, the cutie mark crusaders parachuted off the clock tower, almost broke their legs in the process."
Spike and the girls busted out with laughter. Rarity was next.
"I just finished designing this falls fashion collection, it's simply marvelous if I do say so myself."
Spike could see Dash rolling her eyes. Fluttershy spoke next.
"Me and Rainbow Dash helped a bunch of geese fly south for the winter, their leader accidentally hurt his wing, so me and Dash lead them."
Spike had to ask, "Is he okay?"
Rainbow spoke up.
"Yeah he's fine, he'll join his group next week. Trust me, he's a fighter."
Pinkie hopped up in down screaming: "My Turn, My Turn!",
"Me and Twilight have been planning a p-"
Twilight shushed Pinkie before she could finish. Spike knew what they were planning, he wasn't stupid. They were planning a party for his return. Nonetheless he was glad they would do that for him.
"Enough about us, how are things here?", Applejack said
Spike the said: "Well, I made a new friend."
Everypony at the table jumped up with excitement, clearly they wanted to know more.
"YOU MADE A FRIEND!!? OMG WHO IS HE? OR IS IT HER? ARE YOU GUYS HAVING FUN? WHY IS HE HERE? OR IS IT SHE? DID HE OR SH-"
Pinkie shouted so loud, that the whole hospital could've heard her.
Rainbow, again, had to smack her on the head to make her stop.
Fluttershy spoke up: "So who's your friend?"
Spike pointed to the lonely pony sitting at one of the tables alone.
Fluttershy's started to blush.
"He's cute."
The girls started oooing Fluttershy.
Her face turned even pinker.
"What's his name, Spike?", Twilight said.
"His name is Robert, he's been helping me around the hospital. He's really nice"
"Why's he over there by himself?"
Applejack said.
"I guess he waiting for a visitor....but it looks like no one's coming."
Applejack then said: "Well lets invite him over."
Spike agreed, he walked over to Roberts table, and invited him over.
"I don't know Spike...I feel like I'll be a burden."
"No you won't. My friends are dying to meet you."
Robert agreed. He walked with Spike to his table. Robert was nervous, he sure looked liked it. He started sweating, Spike chuckled at poor Roberts misfortune again.
"Howdy there partner! I'm Applejack. That there's Twilight, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, -an-"
Before she could finish, Fluttershy spoke up. Which is rare for her, considering she's.....shy.
"I...Im...Fluttershy." Her face was red. "She must really like Robert", thought Spike.
"Nice to meet you all, Spike told me all about you guys."
"Spike told you about us?" Twilight asked.
"Oh hell yeah."
The girls gasped. They never liked it when anypony used foul language.
"Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone. But yeah, he told me about you girls. Like you owning a boutique, you having a farm, you and your crazy parties, you and your cool magic abilities, you with your daredevil antics, and you and your gift with animals."
Fluttershy giggled.
"You know, I have a dog named Flossie, I'm sure you'll like her.
"I'm sure I'd like her too." Fluttershy responded.
Rainbow started to make kissing noises, but the group ignored her.
"Why are you here?" Twilight asked.
"Well, I guess you can I had a very bad day."
Spike and the girls chuckled.
"Yeah, mom caught me making out with my girlfriend, called me some names, and discovered my girlfriend cheated on me. So...yeah."
The girls looked sad, except for Fluttershy, who looked happy to know that Robert was single.
"Sorry man" Rainbow Dash said.
"It's okay. Hey, why don't we play some board games?"
The whole group cheered: YEAH!!!
They played ton's of games including one of Spike's favorite, 'Tre!'
Before anypony knew it, I was already six.
"Alright everypony, visiting hours are know over. Say goodbye to the pony you're visiting and make your way to the exit." Dr. Hooves shouted.
Spike gave each one a hug. When he hugged Applejack, he asked her to thank Big Mac. AJ nodded in agreement.
"Thank you for looking after Spikey, Robert ", Rarity said politely.
"Anytime. Now before you girls leave, I want a hug from each one of you."
The girls agreed. After hugging most of the girls, he got to Fluttershy last. When he gave her a hug, she fainted. Robert panicked, thinking he may have hurt her. Rainbow rushed over to pick her up.
"Don't worry Robert, she'll be fine."
"Oh...okay, apologize for me will ya?
"We can do that." Said Pinkie.
The girls made there way to the exit with Rainbow carrying Fluttershy on her back.
"Goodbye Spike, we'll see you later." Twilight said.
Spike said his goodbye and so did Robert.
After leaving the rec. room, Spike and Robert made their way back to their rooms.
"Well, today's been fun. Eh, Spike?"
"Yeah."
Spiked turned to Robert and noticed a tear fall down his face.
"What's wrong?", Spike said.
Robert quickly wiped the tear off his cheek.
"Nothing....it's just.... I've been here for almost a month now, and on every visitation day, I always think that my mom would come to visit. I imagine she'd come, tell me she's sorry for all the abuse, and we finally hug it out. But life's not a movie.
Spike patted Robert on the back.
"Thanks kid...for everything."
Spike blushed a little. He felt proud for helping his friend out.
They finally made it to Robert's room.
"Well, I'm turning in early. Night Spike." Robert said
Spike in return said his good night.
Before Spike could turn around the corner to his room, Robert spoke up.
"Hey Spike. Can I ask a question?"
"Sure", Spike replied.
"Fluttershy........is she dating anyone?"
Spike smiled. He didn't know Robert liked her.
"Uh......not that I know of. Why do you ask?"
"Oh, nothing."
Robert blushed a little before poking his head back into his room.
After Spike made his way towards his bed. A thought occurred him. If Robert does ask out Fluttershy, will Robert be too busy for him?
For as long as Spike could remember he'd always been with his friend Twilight Sparkle. For a while it was just the two of them living in Canterlot, until Princess Celestia sent the two on a mission to make new friends. So, it wasn't long until the two moved to a small town called Ponyville and made new friends.
Although Spike was glad that Twilight had new friends, it made him feel lonely. Sure he was her number one assistant ( her only assistant, for that matter), but deep down he felt he only annoyed Twilight and her friends, and that's why they usually didn't invite him on their adventures.
He remembers the time when Twilight had her birthday party in Canterlot and all of her friends were there except for him. Sure he'd be the only guy there, but an invite would've hurt. A another example was the time when Celestia asked the girls to help out with the Equistia Games. Just the girls, not Spike.
All this plus Twilight getting her wings made Spike all the more depressed. Sure he was glad his friend. But since she became an alicorn, she's been more busier than ever.
With Twilight always busy and none of her friends wanting to hang out with him, he became reclusive. Spending more time inside than out and a lot more time in bed. He's been thinking about it for awhile, but never really acted on it. Sure he tried cutting, but the knives would never penetrate his thick dragon skin. After thinking for while, he finally thought of how he would do it.
With Twilight and the girls going to a party in Canterlot (Spike of course wasn't invited) he'd sneak into the medicine cabinet and overdose on pills. It wasn't how he imagined he'd go, but at least it'll do.
