Chapters Truth Behind Harmony: Discordian Society
Discordia walked around the great cave she had learned to call home, marveling at the new form of culture she had managed to bring into being here. Nothing was sacred in this dark world of hers, but nothing was frowned upon either, so the society that had sprung up from such behavior was unlike anything ever seen on the world of her sister’s creation.
As she walked through she watched as her people walked towards the center of their great city, many of them hanging off of various concubines and lovers of all ages and genders, for their was no discrimination due to who your sexual partner was. It was in her opinion one of the things that made this society prosper, for everypony here was connected by their undying love for one another, their bonds formed by the acts of pleasure they shared with each other.
And Discordia reveled in it, all those lusts, all those pleasures; she could feel every single one of them and drank it all in with gusto. But this day was different, for she was not simply looking for some random pony to buck today. No, today she was looking for a specific pony, a pony who had slowly stolen her heart, though she had yet to admit to herself.
As she walked she was waved over by two ponies she knew very well, and she grinned as she walked over them. “Flim, Flam, how nice to see you two again, how have things been.”
“Very good actually,” said Flam, while his brother hid behind him, looking nervous. “We actually managed to turn over a nice profit in Manehattan, and we also set up another outpost there, which is being looked over.”
“Excellent, well done you two, now if there is nothing else; I really need to get going…”
“Um…there was something else actually.”
“Discordia raised an eyebrow, “I’m listening.”
“Well we were just…just wondering if you could turn Flim back to what he was…now that everything is going so well.”
Discordia glared at Flam, “and what makes you think you have earned such a reward…”
“Please,” said Flim, turning to look at Discordia with pleading eyes. “I know we have messed up in the past, but I can’t stand living like this anymore, I want to be normal again.”
Discordia stared for a moment, then sighed, “Very well, I will make you a mare again.”
Her horn lit up, and with a flash Flim was instantly changed into a mare. Flim looked over herself, her eyes widening as she examined her old features, tears coming to her eyes as she ran over and hugged Discordia. “Oh thank you, divines above thank you!” she then turned to her brother, hugging him before getting a giddy look in her eyes. “I’ll see you later Flam, I got to find some stallions to rut me senseless.”
“Why wait?” said Discordia, turning her head and looking out over the traveling masses. “Oh boys?” she called, waving over a group of stallions and then gesturing to Flim. “This mare is in need of your services, she has been away for a while and is in need of a good rutting, so please show her a good time.”
The stallions grinned, walking over to Flim, who was shaking from excitement as she led them off to the outer caves to find a room. Discordia then leaned down to Flam, whispering into his ear as he watched his sister go. “I suggest you find some fun yourself, I had some mares set aside for you; they are waiting for you in your room.”
With that Flam was off, Discordia watching him for a few moments till she felt a hoof brush the side of her leg. She looked down, and then grinned widely as she bent down, kissing Sweetie Belle on the lips and causing her to moan a little due to the contact. “You’re supposed to be in the cathedral,” said Discordia, letting her hoof drift along Sweetie’s body as her partner kissed along her jaw.
“I wanted to see you, plus-” she said, letting her magic brush against Discordia’s folds, causing her to shiver. “-I really want to do it again, you know, for a boost of confidence.”
“Sweetie you have to pace yourself, not many can handle my ravenous appetite.”
“Well I know I can,” said Sweetie, digging her magic in and causing Discordia to squirm.
“Oh you are an eager one aren’t you,” said Discordia, “but you will have to wait till after your performance.”
“Fine, but you know I won’t be the only one waiting…and in fact, just for that I think I am going to punish you.”
Discordia felt something enter her folds besides the magic, and moaned out loud as she caught an evil grin from the filly. “This will vibrate to my voice and my voice only, and you can’t take it out for the entire performance, otherwise you get none of this.” Sweetie then used her tail to point at her nether regions, smiling as she turned to walk away. “Enjoy the show,” she said, and then she vanished in a flash of magic.
“Oh that naughty little filly,” said Discordia, shaking her rump in anticipation as she made her way quickly to the cathedral.
The cathedral was packed by the time she reached it, moving to her private booth before sitting down, smiling as the announcer walked onto the stage.
“Mares and Gentlestallions, tonight we have the honor of presenting you a filly who has recently come into her own special talent, a filly whose voice can bring anypony to their knees in utter admiration. So without further guiding the lily, I present to you Miss Sweetie Belle!”
He quickly leapt off the stage as it suddenly darkened; the music starting up as the spotlights focused on the one little filly, who after a brief pause leaped to the center of the stage and started to sing, swaying her hips along with the music as her voice rang out over the audience.
The moment her voice hit Discordia’s ears she fell forward, falling to the floor as intense waves of pleasure raced through her body. “That…clever…little…devil…” she moaned, slowly climbing back up, heading over to the edge so she could lean against it and watch as the pleasure raced through her.
As the song wore on however Discordia began to see something starting to happen around Sweetie Belle, noticing a slight glow beginning to surround the young filly. Fighting off the lust filled fog clouding her mind, she quickly cast a spell, and what she saw was breath taking. Sweetie was using her voice to leach emotional energy from the crowd, gathering in to her and hording away in her body, an act that in itself wouldn’t have surprised her, for all of the ponies she had converted could do such. But it was the act behind her leaching that energy that was causing her to feel such glee, for it was greed influencing her actions.
She licked her lips as the song ended, slowly standing on her shaky legs as Sweetie left the stage, grabbing one of the stallions standing outside and sending him with a message for Sweetie, telling her she would be by soon with a special present for her most favored filly. After the messenger was sent away she left for the outer caves, for she had an article she needed to retrieve, and a promise to keep.
Sombra stared miserably out of his bedroom window, watching with disgust as ponies from all over the great cavern entered one of the local orgy pits, no doubt to indulge in one of the many luxuries they had to offer there. He was diverted from the window however by a knock on his door, which he opened with his magic to reveal Discordia standing on the other side.
“Oh it’s you, what do you want.”
She stood there a moment, as though she did not want to say what she had come to say, but then stepped inside, closing the door before speaking. “I have come to take the Element of Greed from your care Sombra, and I shall also be releasing you from my service, I have no more need of you.”
Sombra looked surprised at this, looking cautious as he got up and spoke to her. “That’s it, no altering of deals, no offers of greater power?”
Discordia shook her head, and then surprised him as she brought out the crystal she had been using to keep him in check, floating it over to him and draping it around his neck by the beaded wire attached to it. “I am a mare of my word Sombra; I said I would let you and Marmora go once I found the true wielder of the Element of Greed, and so I shall.”
She then surprised him by giving him a hug, holding him close and then whispering softly into his ear. “If you wish to bring her back to physical form, take her to the place she was slain, and she will be made whole again.”
She then let go of him, turning to leave but stopping when he put a hoof on her shoulder, turning toward him.
“Dis…Mother you don’t need to do this, there is still time for you to talk to them, I am sure they will understand.”
Discordia smiled but shook her head, “no my son, it is far too late for words to stop what I have started, I have done far too much for them to listen to me. There is only one path left from me, and I shall do what I must to reach its end. Now go…your true mother awaits you.”
She then vanished with a flash of light, leaving Sombra with nothing but the necklace and his thoughts.
Truth Behind Harmony: Discordian Society
Nyx fell from the sky as blood poured from several wounds, her attacker dancing gracefully through the sky as she watched her daughter hit the ground with a resounding crash, blood and rubble flying into the air as Discordia landed on the ground.
“You really thought you could escape me,” said Discordia, grabbing Nyx by the back of the head and lifting her up, only to slam her face back into the ground, more blood flying into the air. “After the pain I suffered giving birth to you, and after I struggled for centuries shaping you into the perfect companion for Artemis, you have the gall to defy me!”
“Of course I do,” whispered Nyx, blood dripping from her mouth as she spoke, “and I should have done so sooner.”
“And why is that, my dear precious daughter?”
Nyx rose to her hooves, her eyes becoming dead and hollow as she forced her beast to the surface, all but shouting at her mother as she rose to her full height. “Because you are the death of this world, and I refuse to side with you any longer knowing what you plan to do!”
Nyx then lashed out, her newly formed tendrils flying out to attempt to bind Discordia, only for the chaotic goddess to repel them with a spell, sending out a blast of magic at her dark child. Nyx vanished before the blast struck, her tendrils leaping out from the shadows behind Discordia while she herself appeared above, launching a torrent of black magic from her oozing horn.
Discordia dodged both attacks while suppressing a yawn, “come now child, I know you can…”
She never got to finish, for her daughter had decided to let loose a great black sludge upon her, which began burning her skin as she screamed.
Nyx was not finished, her great wings opening as she roared, calling down great balls of fire upon the monster that was her mother.
Discordia was brought out of the sky by the fiery rain, landing with a great thud before her daughter and then getting yanked back up, trapped within a mass of her writhing tendrils.
“So this is how you plan to finish me daughter…I can’t say I’m not surprised, you never were that creative when it came to killing.”
“You’re wrong mother,” said Nyx, a note of pity in her voice as she lifted up a hoof and caressed her mother’s face. “I have much worse planned for you…much worse…”
From the mass of tendrils came two white ones, their ends opening to reveal dripping needle like barbs, each of which were placed at the base of each of Discordia’s temples.
“This will not be easy,” said Nyx, “and you will not enjoy it …but no that I will always love you…Goodbye…”
She then plunged the two barbs into Discordia’s temples, the mare screaming as her red eyes turned black as tar, her mind falling into a nightmare not of her daughter’s creation, but of her own.
As she fell within the nightmare, Nyx gently lowered her to the ground, her transformation ending as she gazed down upon the older mare. She didn’t want to leave her there like that, for it reminded her of what her mother had done to Celestia…and what she herself had done to Luna.
And there was also the fact that the brand of…nightmare she had planted in her mother’s mind was not a normal nightmare. Nightmares usually made ponies come face to face with some inner fear, letting them overcome it in order to help them learn and grow as a pony. But this…thing she had created, it was not a tool for teaching, no, instead it dug deep, finding a ponies greatest fears, the things they never spoke of, and used them to hurt that pony.
She knew her mother would suffer for it, because she had many fears, fears which escaped her lips in the late hours of the night, when her guard was down and her mind was asleep. But despite what she knew, she also knew she had to leave her there, and so with a final, sorrowful nuzzle, she turned and left her mother lying upon the ground, limping away as she headed deeper into the kingdom of the Draconiqui.
It was days before the nightmare lifted from Discordia’s mind, allowing her to return to the waking world. When she did, it was to find some hungry predator gnawing away at one of her legs, which she promptly blasted with a bit of magic as she got up.
“Dam that daughter of mine,” she said as her leg repaired itself, looking across the field in which she had been left and sighing. “She’ll be too far gone now, and I must get back, I will need to work quickly to repair the damage she has done.”
Her horn lit up, and the world shimmered around her, the open field being replaced by the cavern which was the entrance to the home of her chosen. She started walking, intending on heading to the chamber that held the rest of her birth children till she was stopped by the sight of one of her chosen running toward her, a look of glee stretched across her face.
“Mother Discordia, thank the elements you arrived, Daughter Nymph thought you might not make it for her birthing.”
Discordia looked confused for a moment, and then her eyes widened as understanding washed over her. “You mean Nymph is giving birth today, are you sure?”
“Her water has broken, and her contractions have started, so we are pretty sure it is happening today.”
Discordia squeed, giving the mare a quick peck on the cheek before trotting off, this time making her way to the cave that housed the first, and therefore the oldest of the chosen. They were the ones who had first answered the call of her song, and Nymphadora, the oldest of them by far, held a special place in the chaos goddess’s heart.
She made it to the last cave, arriving just as she heard a cry of pain, running inside and seeing Nymph lying on the bed and sweeting like crazy, her legs spread wide apart for the birthing.
“Mother…” said Nymph, reaching out to her as the larger mare came over to nuzzle her. “I so glad you’re here, I…I was afraid you wouldn’t…”
“I would never miss this,” said Discordia softly, running her hoof through the young mares hare as she spoke. “This is a blessing among our people, for you are finally ready to give birth to new life.”
Nymph nodded, and then screamed as a contraction rocked her body, Discordia grabbing her hoof in comfort as the other mare moved in front of her open legs.
“Is she ready Earthen?”
“She is mother.”
“Then push Nymph, bring your little filly into the world.”
Nymph screamed, pushing with all her might as she gripped onto the bed and onto Discordia’s hoof before she collapsed upon the bed, panting and shaking.
“Very good Nymph, I can see the head, now I need for you to push for me again ok?”
“I…I can’t…”
Discordia moved then, lifting up her other hoof and clutching Nymphs, her horn beginning glow, which Nymph noticed. “No mother,” protested Nymph, “you mustn’t!”
“You are in no condition to protest Nymph,” said Discordia harshly, “this life is coming now, so let me take on your pain, I can handle it.”
Nymph looked hesitant but finally nodding, waiting till she felt the gentle touch of Discordia’s magic before giving another push.
The effect on Discordia was instantaneous, sweat beginning to drip down her body as the pains of Nymph’s birthing coursed through her, making her shake as the mare kept on pushing.
But Discordia knew it was for the best, for without her help Nymph would probably die without her. While yes, Nymph was thousands of years old, Discordia’s magic caused any who she blessed to age at an extremely decelerated rate, stopping at about the age of thirty. For Nymph and the others of the first, who were the ones Discordia had tested the spell on, the deceleration had been far worse, to the point that Nymph was the age equivalent of a twelve year old.
Nymph gave one final push, Discordia actually crying out as the pain coursed through her, and then Nymph collapsed, the sounds of a foal wailing filling the room as Earthen rose to her hooves.
“You did it Nymph,” said Earthen, using her magic to clean the foal before presenting it to her mother.
“So beautiful,” said Nymph, holding the black furred foal in her forelegs before looking at Discordia, and presenting the foal to her. “Will you name her…mother…?”
“No child,” said Discordia sweetly, “that is an honor only you can have, not I.”
“Very well…” said Nymph tiredly, pulling the filly back to her before speaking again, “I will call her All Star.”
Discordia nodded, nuzzling the mare sweetly as she kissed the little foal, and then looking up to see Earthen pulling on her wing.
“What is it my child?”
“Mother, I know I am probably being too bold, but the others will want to see her now, after all it’s…it’s been ages since we have had a new one born to us.”
“I understand,” said Discordia, “but that is for the mother to decide young Earthen.”
Earthen nodded, and then moved to sit beside the bed, giving Nymph a pleading look as she spoke. “Please great sister, can you please let us show her to the others, so they may be blessed with her presence at last.”
“Of course little sister,” said Nymph sweetly, before turning back to Discordia with a smile. “Mother, I have one more request of you.”
“Anything my child.”
“If it pleases thee, could you be the one who presents her to the others, I am afraid I am too tired to do it myself.”
“Of course dear Nymph, I would be honored to present her before them.”
She then took the foal within her magic, floating it over and cupping it in one of her wings against her chest, before giving Nymph one final nuzzle of affection. “See you soon,” she said, and then she turned and left, followed closely by Earthen as she pranced about them, excited about the events that were to come.
Outside in the great cavern, Sweetie Belle watched the gathered throng gossip happily from her cushioned seat, turning to one of her many “companions” and speaking to him.
“Grim, could you please tell me again why we are here, though I do remember it was something important.”
“Yes indeed Mother Sweetie Belle,” said Grim Harvest, his charcoal black eyes gazing upon her with reverence as he spoke. “This is indeed a tremendous occasion, for Elder Sister Nymphadora is finally giving birth.”
“Elder Sister,” said Sweetie skeptically, “what sort of title is this?”
“Oh,” said Grim as he faced hooved, “very sorry Mother Sweetie Belle, I forgot you are not used to our customs. The title of Elder Sister, or Elder Brother in case of the males, is reserved for the ponies who first answered our mothers call, the oldest and wisest of us.”
“I see, and this makes them important?”
“Of course it does,” said Grim, “they are the only ones Discordia allows to indoctrinate the new bloods, the only ones. Hell, it was Nymphadora who indoctrinated me.”
“Really,” asked Sweetie, “how long ago was this?”
“Only two hundred years after her own indoctrination if I recall correctly,” said Grim with a smile, “the things she could do with her mouth.”
“But she would have still been a filly then,” said Sweetie, knowing the effects of Discordia’s blessing due to the older mare having told her in great detail.
“She may have a young body Mother Sweetie Belle,” said Grim, “but even back then, Nymphadora was a wellspring of sexual knowledge.”
“I see,” said Sweetie Belle again, “and…and what are Discordia’s feelings toward these…Elder Siblings of ours.”
“She is as devoted to them as they are to her, for they are her tethers, the ones who keep her from slipping beyond this plane.”
Outwardly, Sweetie Belle nodded with understanding, but inwardly her mood darkened. Though she would never admit it, Sweetie’s affections for Discordia had been growing at an alarming rate, turning into a full blown obsession, though she did not know it. She hated the idea of ponies who Discordia cherished more than her, despised the idea that there were ponies who Discordia trusted with her life and soul besides her.”
“It’s not fair,” she thought, but she was distracted as Discordia walked out from one of the caves, the crowd rising as she lit up her horn to enhance her voice.
“My children, I know you are eager to hear how Elder Sister Nymphadora has fared, but first I sadly have some sorrowful news which must be shared. As you all know, my daughter Nyx has long held a deep resentment for our practices, and last night…she turned her back on us.”
There were many gasps from the throng, and many more outbursts of shear disbelief, especially from the rare few Nyx had…touched.
“I know this must come as a shock to you all, but I am afraid it is the truth. She has betrayed us, siding with those who would keep us from resurrecting my sister Harmonia, but we will deal with her treachery latter. As you all know, Nymphadora has been pregnant for some time, and just moments ago she gave birth. So it is with great honor that I, Discordia Chaotica, here by present before you all, the filly All Star!”
She raised the filly over her head, and all around Sweetie Belle the crowd rose like a massive tied, whooping, hollering, and cheering. And as they cheered, Sweetie Belle watched as the magic that connected all of Discordia’s children reached out to the filly, wrapping her up in comforting warmth which caused her to giggled, till finally she was placed once again within Discordia’s protective wing as she raised her hoof for silence.
“Thank you all, it gladdens my heart to know that you are all willing to embrace this new life, which brings me to my next bit of good news. Tomorrow night is the night of the red moon, a night of blood and rebirth, and on this night, I wish you all to gather within the resurrection chamber to participate in a most glorious ceremony. For tomorrow night, when the sun, moon and planet are all in alignment, my other daughters will be awakened from their ageless slumber!”
If the cheering of the mob had been loud before, the roar which erupted from all of them was deafening. They all knew of Discordia’s other daughters, for they were the ones Nyx had kept safe when Discordia had vanished, the ones many of which had never even seen.
“I can’t believe it,” whispered Grim with an air of reverence, “she’s finally going to bring them back.”
“Brining who back?”
“Her daughters,” said Grim, “Nyx’s sisters who are the genetic opposites to Harmonia’s own. If Discordia is bringing them back, it means she is finally ready to begin The War of the Lost One’s once again.”
While this was also an unfamiliar term to Sweetie Belle, she no longer wished to ask, her mood darkening even more as the crowd began to disperse.
“I need to speak to Discordia…NOW!”
Truth Behind Harmony: Discordian Society
“Sweetie Belle, Mother Sweetie Belle!”
Sweetie Belle turned, seeing her friend Applebloom running toward her, the smaller mare stopping to bow before speaking again.
“Land snakes Sweetie what in Tartarus has gat yah in such a tizzy, Ah’ve been yelling at yah the entire run up here?”
“…Sorry Applebloom, I just need to speak with Discordia urgently.”
“Oh, no wonder you couldn’t here me then, you being all smitten with her an all.”
“I am not,” said Sweetie, though the denial was extremely forced, for she was indeed in love with her.
Applebloom just smirked, “Well do yah mind if ah tag along?”
Sweetie shook her head, and then started walking again, Applebloom falling into step beside her and nuzzling up against her leg.
“Applebloom, I thought I told you I don’t want you doing that?”
“But ah like yah Sweetie Belle,” said Applebloom, “Ah’m just trying tah show yah that.”
“Well I don’t like it Applebloom, I don’t like you in that way, I only have feelings for Discordia.”
“Who you know doesn’t have the same…”
“Applebloom, just the mare I was looking for!”
They booth turned to see Discordia walking toward them, a grin spread across her face as she moved next to Applebloom.
“Discordia…”
“Not now Sweetie Belle, I need to speak with Applebloom alone about something, just wait for me in our room and I promise I will be their soon.”
“But…”
Sadly before she could finish Discordia and Applebloom vanished, causing Sweetie Belle to begin to growl as she looked around.
“RRRRRAAAAAWWWWWW!!!!!”
She lashed out at a nearby wall; tearing apart she breathed hard, a voice chuckling within her mind before speaking.
“What is the matter little star, what causes you this pain?”
“She is ignoring us…” said Sweetie Belle, “and it is making us angry.”
“You must be patient little star, after all she is the ruler of a collective of ponies, therefore her time cannot be spent with you all the…”
“WE DON’T CARE!” roared Sweetie Belle, startling many of the ponies she had been walking past, which caused her to blush in embarrassment as she teleported to her room. “We really wish you would not do that while we are in the company of others Taurus, it makes us seem unstable.”
“No, the fact that you speak as though you are more than one pony when angry is what makes them fear you are unstable, which you have been doing since I became one with you.”
Sweetie Belle made to retort, but then stopped herself, taking a deep breath before finally responding. “I am sorry Taurus, but I can’t help talking that way when I get angry due to your thoughts bleeding into my own during those times, making me confused.”
“Well that is not my fault, after all I have had to live with a creature undeserving of me for over a thousand years, so being with you now makes me want to share myself entirely with you dear sister.”
This caused Sweetie Belle to smile, “an understandable feeling brother Taurus, and with that said I shall take your advice and be patient…though hopefully I won’t have to be patient for long.”
“So Discordia, what did yah want tah talk tah me about?”
“Well you see young Applebloom,” said Discordia as they made their way into the deepest part of her realm, “with my daughters revival ceremony approaching, I have realized that when they come back they will be in desperate need of guards till they fully recover, which is why I need your help.”
“What, yah mean like helping your daughters to recover and…”
“Oh no no no no, that will be taken care of by other ponies. No you my dear Applebloom will be helping with the guard that will protect my daughters, who you will be meeting soon.”
The stopped in-front of a great black opening, with stairs leading down into what looked like a great black floor; till Applebloom noticed that it was…moving.
“Wha…”
“Shh,” said Discordia, “be silent for a moment while I explain, but first, I believe you have a question for me.”
Applebloom looked up at the grey alicorn, part of her still finding it intimidating how she seemed to know what she was thinking, before finally she got the nerve to speak. “What are they?”
“They my little Applebloom are a group of ponies who long ago were killed because the rulers of their kingdom thought them to be…shall we say marked by evil.”
“What do yah mean?”
At this Discordia’s face grew dark, tears slipping from her eyes before she sat down, draping a wing over the young pony before speaking. “Well you see young Applebloom, long ago there was a kingdom of ponies that believed that cutie marks were not a mark of one’s special talent, and instead were a mark of evil used by dead gods to mark their servants. So, to stop what they perceived as an invasion by dark servants, they began to round up and kill those who were marked, not caring that some were mere fillies and colts…”
Applebloom saw the older mare choke; noting the pain the memory was obviously causing the mare. Many didn’t know it, but Discordia wasn’t only a goddess of chaos. Back where she came from, Discordia was also known as the saint of lost, abused and abandoned foals, who were hers to guard and care for.
“Wha…what happened to them, the kingdom ah mean?”
“Well as with all things of this nature, the kingdom was eventually destroyed by a darkness they themselves created. For you see young one when they killed those blessed by cutie marks, they became tainted by that dark act, and thus they are unable to rest. They became what I have dubbed the Blanks, undead beings created when one is murdered because they discovered their talent.”
“And they…they destroyed the kingdom,” asked Applebloom.
“Yes they did, though you must not blame them Applebloom, for it was simply nature’s way of righting a wrong…still, because of this, a whole new race of ponies was created, one which I have taken into my care due to its nature.”
She gestured to the dark mass with a wing, and all at once their heads rose, their red eyes gazing first at Discordia, then to Applebloom, who felt a pleasant chill run up her spine as a soft voice spoke within her mind.
“Come to me…”
Without even waiting for Discordia to say anything, Applebloom moved in among the dark ponies, moving toward the center of them as Discordia smiled, not even noticing as her cutie mark appeared on her flank, or Discordia leaving her with her new charges.
Discordia made it back to her chambers relatively quickly, but as she had traveled she had run across several ponies talking about Sweetie Belle, which had made her worried. Of course all children knew of the beasts that resided in all alicorns, even Discordia herself. But what worried her was the fact that Sweetie Belle was speaking as though it was more than one pony talking, which should not have been happening.
She knocked on the door outside her chambers, waiting a bit before the doors opened, revealing the smiling face of Sweetie as she pulled her inside.
“Discordia, it’s good to see you,” said Sweetie, nuzzling close to her and purring in content, causing Discordia to raise an eyebrow.
“It is good to see you as well Sweetie Belle, but…are you alright?”
“What do you mean?”
Discordia sighed, “Sweetie Belle, our children have been whispering about you lately, saying that you are talking as though there is more than one pony speaking, which has made me worried for your sanity.”
To her surprise, Sweetie Belle smiled, “oh that’s nothing; bits of Taurus just keep slipping in when I get a bit angry that’s all. Now-” she said, “-come to bed.”
Sweetie Belle moved to the bed, but when she looked back she saw that Discordia had not moved, and was wearing a look of concern on her face which troubled her.
“Sweetie Belle, we need to talk about thi…”
“No we don’t,” said Sweetie Belle rather too hastily, “now come to bed.”
Discordia stiffened, her ears hearing the command in Sweetie Belle’s voice, compelling her to speak rather harshly. “Sweetie Belle, what is the matter with you, for you have never commanded me to do anything before?”
Sweetie Belle’s eyes shifted around for a moment, and then she leaped off the bed and grabbed Discordia’s forelegs, beginning to plead.
“I’m so sorry Discordia…it’s just I have been repressing an ever growing jealousy concerning you, one I that has been growing ever since you gave Taurus to me. I…I know it’s not proper, but I love you more than anything…and I can’t go on unless I know you feel the…”
“…Get out…”
Sweetie Belle’s eyes widened, “w…what?”
“I said get out,” said Discordia, walking over to her table before rounding on Sweetie. “I have tried being nice to you, and I have humored you far longer then I should have, and now I can see it was a very poor decision.”
“Discordia no you haven’t…”
“Silence,” said Discordia, keeping her eyes glaring at Sweetie Belle as she continued. “Sweetie Belle, I am ordering you to share yourself with other ponies besides myself, for until you do that, I cannot share myself with you anymore.”
“But…but I can’t do that…you’re the only one…”
“No I am not Sweetie Belle, for whether you want to believe it or not…I do not love you the way you love me…so I cannot be your only one…”
For a moment Sweetie Belle just stood there, and then she sagged to the floor, her heart cracking as the words sunk in, “No…”
“…I am sorry Sweetie Belle, but it is the truth, now I must ask you to leave my chambers.”
It took a moment, but finally Sweetie Belle picked herself up off the ground, before teleporting away as Discordia sighed. “May you find somepony worthy of you…my little flower…”
Truth Behind Harmony: Discordian Society
Discordia landed upon the ground in front of a small house, shivering a bit as she thought about what she was about to do. This house was the home of the last…and really only lover she had ever taken, a pony who she had said once had stolen her heart.
But this lover also wanted nothing to do with her, for he could not accept what she was doing, even though he saw her cause as just.
“But I need him,” she thought, so without any more hesitation she moved toward the door, her form taking on the appearance of a young Thestral mare as she entered the house. She moved through the house, her every step measured as to not wake the occupant. She knew he was alone, for she had seen his adopted child talking with Twilight Sparkle, and therefore would be gone for many hours.
She finally reach the stallions bedroom, noting that he had somehow managed to role onto his back as he slept, which she had always found amusing. She moved beside him, placing her wing on his forehead to wake him, figuring that he would appreciate it.
The stallion slowly woke, his deep blue eyes gazing first at to the light blue wing on his head, before glancing to the face of the mare above him, who smiled as his expression hardened.
“Hello Futile…”
“Get out!”
It was harsh, it was expected, and it didn’t faze her in the least. “You know my answer to that Futile Task; I’m not leaving, for I need to talk with you.”
She watched as he got out of bed, not even surprised as he walked past her and flicked his oddly long tail angrily, its golden hairs shining in the moonlight and making her sigh. “Well you’re just going to have to talk to a wall then,” said Futile, keeping his gaze straight ahead as he went down the stairs. “And I thought I told you not to call me that.”
Discordia smiled as she followed, following him into the kitchen and sitting down as he began to make some food, before opening her mouth to speak. “Why should I not call you by your name, after all it is so much better than the name you have given yourself, which was not very imaginative on your part.”
“It was the only name I could think of I liked.”
“And it was also the name of my uncle, and the fact that you picked it makes me want to hurl.”
That got a chuckle from him, till he stopped, sighing as he looked back at her, “I hate how you can do that.”
“It’s a gift love,” said Discordia.
“You still think of me that way?”
“Don’t you?”
He looked at her a moment, then turned back to what he was doing, before letting a few words escape his lips.
“Of course I do…”
This got a smile from Discordia, who waited in her seat as Futile prepared the food, before serving it out and hesitating near the chair, before deciding to sit down next to her.
“So, what did you need to talk about?”
He noticed her frown, “Well…it seems that you can say I told you so Futile, for it seems one of my many charges has…well, fallen quite hard for me.”
“I told you it would happen,” said Futile, hesitating a moment before draping a purple wing across her back. “I told you eventually one of them would see you more than a mother, it was just a matter of time.”
He rubbed her back, allowing her to lean her head against his shoulder before speaking again, “How bad was it?”
“As bad as it can get,” said Discordia, “she fell for me so hard she has become jealous of anypony who I share my company with, whether intimate or not. I was forced to…to break it off with her; at least till she…she shares herself with the others.”
He nodded, keeping his face impartial as he stroked her back. “I see, and I can take it this hurt you a bit.”
“Of course it did, she presumed she held a high place in my heart, when only you hold…”
She stopped, looking away and hiding behind her mane as she kept her gaze locked on her food. Futile knew why she had turned away, for it heart her to admit she loved him, mostly due to the fact that he refused to accept her world, and he could tell just by her tone that this little one had been important to her.
“…has there really been nopony else since me?”
“…You know that answer Futile, there has been nopony else…there could never be anypony else…”
“I see…well, I suppose you…you want to…join with me?”
She nodded, and then got up as she felt him get out of his chair, staying under his wing as she walked with him. They walked back into his room, and then Futile lifted his wing off her, gesturing toward the bed before speaking. “Get on the bed.”
“How do you…”
“Just get on.”
She did so, letting her body take the standard position for mating, before purring as she felt him climb atop her.
“…I have always loved that noise you make, it so unlike any other thestral I have ever met.”
“That’s because my purr is…not just of thestral nature…I…I mix it with the purr of…of a race of ponies that does not exist yet…but they will soon.”
This caused Futile to halt, for he knew what she was talking about, “you…you don’t mean…?”
She nodded, then much to her surprise she felt him climb off her, straightening herself as he laid down beside her.
“You…you’re really bringing them back…you’re finally…”
She could practically hear the pleading in his voice, the silent hope in his voice, causing her to nod her head, “yes…I am bringing back the lives which you blessed me with…so long ago.”
Tears entered the…no, her stallion’s eyes, and he began kissing the nape of her neck, a smile spreading across his face as he spoke. “I want to see them…I…”
“But…” started Discordia, “…I thought you said you never wanted to enter my realm, knowing what you would no doubt see?”
“I don’t care,” said Futile, “I…I need to see them…and…”
He didn’t speak; instead he let his hoof glide across her back, making her shiver as he finished his sentence. “…I won’t be the kind of stallion my father was…I won’t leave you alone to care for our children…not while I am still alive.”
“That’s not much of a promise, seeing as how you can’t die…”
To silence her, he kissed her on the lips, holding it for a long while before letting it go and speaking. “If you don’t believe that, then I could simply make the pact and be…”
“NO!”
Discordia’s eyes had widened her eyes at that, fear etched across her face as Futile raised an eyebrow.
“What, it would solve all your doubts and ensure I never break my word?”
“But the pact would kill you if you failed to meet it Futile, and I can’t risk that…and besides, I was simply joking earlier, so your word will do just fine.”
He smiled at that, and then got a fiendish grin as he leaned over to whisper into her ear, “Now…where were we?”
However to his surprise she simply shook her head, getting off the bed as she turned to speak to him. “That can wait; right now…I think it’s time that you see your children.”
He nodded, then got up to follow her, leaving a quick note for his daughter before accompanying Discordia outside and vanishing in a bright flash of light, leaving nothing but the wind howling through the now empty house.
Truth Behind Harmony: Discordian Society
Discordia reclined on her bed, examining the large aquariums of her hidden chamber with a sad curiosity as she waited for her Sweetie Belle to arrive. She had built this chamber long ago, using it to house the first of several pony races she was meant to create along with her sister, before Harmonia had killed herself trying to create their world alone. She had told her sister to wait, told her that they were not ready to do it yet, but she would not listen.
“Why could you not listen to me sister, you were too little, too fragile to do what you did…”
She banished the thoughts from her mind, instead turning to the various alicorn fetuses that hung in the tanks, each born from her womb and each one carrying with it unique traits. They were the precursor to what she hoped would be several new pony types, ponies that could help bridge the gap between normal ponies and many of the other sentient races that were still not accepted in normal pony society, though how they would do this was beyond her.
She was brought out of her reverie by the sound of somepony teleporting into the room, and turned to see Nyx standing behind her, looking solemn as she stared at the tanks around her. “What brings you here my daughter, I am sure it was not to stare at your sisters with me.”
Nyx didn’t answer, instead walking over to the tank holding the small body of a pony spliced with an octopus, leaning her head against the tank before speaking. “Mother…I…I was wondering if we could talk about Luna…”
“Daughter you have heard my views on this, I told you thousands of years ago that you cannot mate with that mare.”
“But we belong together mother, we are the two halves of the moon, and we are the stars that fill the night sky, why should we not be together?”
“Because she is your family,” said Discordia with a grimace, glaring at her daughter as she rose from her seat. “You may want her, but as I told you on the night of your banishment, it would be perverse to continue such a union.”
“Perverse! You may say that mother but you have done far worse, what about what you have done to all those foals you have stolen over the…”
“You know that is different my daughter, those foals are not family, and what I do to them makes it so that they can better bond as a people, as you have seen over the thousands of years I have been practicing this.”
Nyx wanted to argue, for even though she had partaken many a time in the pleasures her mother liked, she still viewed what her mother doing was wrong. “I still find it sickening that you do this to them, there are better ways to do what you have done than…”
Nyx suddenly found her throat being crushed, her mother griping her in her magic as her eyes glowed yellow with fury. “YOU WILL NOT SPEAK OF WHAT I DO THAT WAY TO ME AGAIN, I HAVE TOLD YOU BEFORE YOUR OPINION IS IRELIVENT, NOW BEGON FROM MY SIGHT, I AM WAITING FOR SWIEETIE BELLE TO ARIVE!”
She then threw Nyx to the ground, her gaze turning back to the tanks as the yellow light left her eyes. Nyx got up, tears streaming down her face as she left the room, running back to her mares and away from her mother’s harsh words.
Nyx finally stopped outside the entrance to her personal cave, hearing the sound of her mares on the other side of the doorway as she leaned against it, tears still flowing from her eyes as the voice of her beast rose inside her mind.
“You are as much of a hypocrite as your mother is, after all it was you who bit those mares in that room, and it was those bites that made them love you, not you yourself.”
He was right and she knew it, but what could she do, she knew she could never get her Luna back; she had that yellow mare now. She needed those mares to fill the void in her heart, but if she was honest with herself, the pain of knowing they didn’t actually love her was even worse.
“I can’t keep doing this to them…and I can’t keep doing this to myself…I have to move on, and so do they.”
She lifted herself off the doorway, moving inside and being greeted by her mares, who nuzzled up close to her as they spoke.
“Welcome home mistress!”
She gave them all a sad smile, which caused them to frown for a moment before their eyes got caught within her own, her magic holding their gaze as she began to speak.
“I want you all to know I love you very much, but I can no longer hold this spell over you, for it is tearing me up inside. So now I release you from…from my spell, and soon, you shall fall into a deep dreamless sleep. When you wake, you will remember nothing of me, and you will not remember ever loving me, now…go to sleep.”
She watched as they all slumped where they stood, lifting them with her magic and placing them on the bed, then she turned and left the room, for she had one more destination to head to before she put this sinful caver behind her.
Discordia finally rose from her seat as Sweetie Belle entered her bed chambers, having moved there after figuring the little filly would be frightened by the morbid sight of her children’s temporary home. She grabbed up the filly in a hug, kissing her passionately as her heart began to beat faster just from her touch.
She finally parted from the fillies lips, smiling down at her as she moved her to the bed. “I have a present for you my dear, though you will have to close your eyes before I give it to you alright.”
“Ok,” whispered Sweetie Belle, closing her eyes as Discordia moved behind her. Discordia drew out the element of greed, placing it around Sweetie’s neck and letting it attune to her spirit, Sweetie cooing as the magic filled her. “Wow…this feels really good, what is it?”
“It’s your new power,” cooed Discordia into her ear, before placing her horn atop Sweetie Belle’s head, both of them becoming engulfed in light as Sweetie was awoken to her new purpose.
Nyx breathed hard as she stumbled her way into the cave, struggling her way toward the home of her ponies as the voice inside her kept trying to stall her.
“You can’t do this, she will never let you escape this life, not after all the work she put into you.”
“I don’t care,” Nyx growled aloud, moving with determination as she gritted her teeth against the voice. “And what makes you think I would listen to you, especially after what you did to me?”
The voice chuckled, “I said I was sorry for that little moon, but what is done is done. However what you are doing now could end with both of us getting killed, and I cannot allow that.”
It was Nyx’s turn to laugh, “You know that is not true Artemis, now be silent, I must complete this before we leave for good.”
She reached up her hoof, knocking upon the entrance of the cave and waking its occupant, the large thestral getting up and walking over to her.
“Lady Nyx, what do I owe the pleasure of your presence this night?”
Nyx sighed, “Seed, I have come with a grave task for you…one that will put us against the forces of Discordia.”
“What do you mean milady,” asked Seed, looking at her in confusion as she sat down next to him.
“I need you to take all the thestrals back to Equestria and help bolster their ranks, and if you can, steel back as many of the fillies and colts that were captured by her forces, for without them Discordia will have no leverage with which to push a surrender.”
Seed stared for a long moment at his queen, but soon replied, surprising her with his answer. “How soon do you wish us to do this?”
“Tonight, while everypony sleeps.”
“And is there anything else milady?”
Nyx nodded, “yes, once you arrive back in Equestria, I want you to swear your fealty to Princess Luna; she will be your queen until I return to you.”
Seed nodded, “very well milady, I shall do so at once, just…just be careful please, we do not want to lose you again.”
She nodded, then giving him a quick nuzzle before taking off from the cave, hovering a little over the grand cavern to watching as her ponies began to move, before using her magic to teleport out of the cavern for good.
Discordia stared down at the sleeping form beside her, smiling as she ran a hoof through the now fully grown mare’s mane. Sweetie Belle had undergone a drastic change, both due to the element of greed and due to Discordia’s own magic. She had grown to the size of a full grown alicorn, as well as a fully matured mare, and Discordia loved how well it had turned out.
But now she was curious, for when she had touch Sweetie’s magic with her own, she had felt something oddly familiar within her, a drop of blood she had sent out into the world long ago. Ages past, she had felt the lines of greed and anger die off, and so she had had to send it out once again, this time in the form of two of her stolen children, so that way the blood line would not die off before they found the right ones.
“But who made her,” she wondered, for she knew that this mare before her was related to the Element of generosity, though she didn’t know who yet. She lit up her horn, pulling up a strand of the young mares DNA, looking for the part that would show her who her parents were.
But when she finally found it, a fiendish grin stretched upon her face, for the images of the two parents were ones she knew well. One was one of her children, and unassuming colt who had a taste for teenage fillies, really young teenage fillies. But the other was an even greater find, for it was none other than the element of Generosity herself, the lady Rarity.
“Greed birthed inside the womb of Generosity herself,” said Discordia with a cackle, “oh how deliciously…poetic.”
However before she could look further into her family tree, she heard a pounding on her door, looking up to see one of her captains looking scared.
“What is it captain; can’t you see I am busy?”
“I am sorry mother,” said the young colt, “but this news could not wait, for your daughter Nyx has left the cavern with her ponies, who have absconded with many of the fillies and colts we abducted in our recent raid of Equestria!”
“WHAT?!” roared Discordia, luckily failing to wake Sweetie Belle as she rose from the bed. “Sound the alarm and rouse the pegasi, we need to stop the thestrals before they can reach the Equestrian border!”
“That…that may be a problem mother, for this happened in the middle of the night, and…and they already made it into Equestrian borders.”
Discordia was fuming, but knew that such anger would not help, instead settling for a glare as she asked her next question. “What about my daughter, where is she now?!”
“Um…last we checked; her presence disappeared on the edge of the Empire of Fangs.”
Discordia growled, “Perfect,” she said, and then she sighed. “…so tell me captain, what are our losses?”
“Almost all the fillies and colts we captured have been taken back by the thestrals, though we still don’t know how they managed such a large scale ‘rescue’ as were deciding to call it. Only a small batch is left, including the young Applebloom and mother Sweetie Belle.”
That was new, “captain, did I just hear you call Sweetie Belle mother?”
“yes mother Discordia,” said the captain, “we have seen the way you to have been growing close ever since she arrived, and the main body of children thought it would be fitting to call her such, especially given her most recent um…transformation.”
Discordia nodded, “very well captain, you may leave now, though I want a full report about this latter.”
She then watched the captain go, before turning around and sighing as she headed back to bed, lying down and letting sleep take her as she pulled Sweetie Belle closer to her, finding comfort in the newly created alicorns presence.
