The carnivores and the ponies

"No probs, Dashie." Soarin said with his normal goofy voice. Rainbow stopped walking when she heard what he said.

'Did he just...? Nah... It can't be... or is it...?'Rainbow thought for herself. Her mind was a tangled mess that would need a lot of time to clean up.

HONK HOOONK

"I have to ask him later" Rainbow muttered under her own breath as she started walking again. She could definitely not stand around for much longer. Rainbow jumped up in the air and decided to fly for the rest of the way.

As she flied around the corner, she saw the ship. It was a huge white and red boat. The bottom where as red as blood, and the top was white as clouds. As she flied further on she could see Twilight at the entrance, waving her hoof for Rainbow to come. Rainbow decided to pick up her speed and race herself to the entrance. As fast as she picked up her speed, the boat blew its horn again. "Geez, that horn can sound really loud!"Rainbow said to herself.

As she looked at where the entrance were, she saw a pony closing it. She speed up even more, and just as the entrance were about to close, she got through. The pony who were closing the door, fell backwards as the multicolored mare pressed through. She brushed some dust off her chest and walked further in the boat. As she walked around the corner, she saw the rest of the group.

"I told you she would make it!" Pinkie said as she saw Rainbow walk around the corner.

"How did'ya get so far behind us Dash?" Applejack asked. Rainbow started sweating as she tried to come up with an explanation.

"I... Uh... I-I tripped and... uh... Got... Disoriented! Yeah... that's why..." Rainbow put up her trademark smile on her face and watched as her friends started to accept her explanation. Well, everypony except two. Twilight and Zazu.

"Very well then. It most certainly is better to be on a floating piece of metal then to fly all the way over seas."

Zazu said as he stretched and made himself comfortable on Fluttershy's back. Fluttershy smiled as she felt the bird moving around on her back.

"Very well. But Zazu... I have a question." Twilight said to the blue bird. Zazu turned his head towards her and sighed.

"Very well then. What is it Twilight Sparkle?" He asked. He was getting quite tired about Twilight's questioning sessions about the enemies. But, he tried to manage it at least.

"Can you tell me more about the inhabitants of The Pride Lands? Are they birds like you or are they ponies? Or are they all maybe Zebras?" Twilight said excited.

"Well... There are birds and Zebras yes. There is every kind of animal from hippo and elephant to monkeys and Giraffes. But I guess you are more interested about King Simba's species and Pride." Zazu stood up and moved a wing over is chest. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath before continuing.

"There are plants and birds of many kinds, some we have yet to find. Hippos and Rhinos lives also there, those are the ones who spread the most fear. But enough of those, don't you think? Let me tell you of the king so it will have time to sink." Zazu jumped up on Fluttershy's head to continue the song, or whatever it was.

"Our king lives with his prid-" Zazu got cut off by Spitfire grabbing his beak.

"Just answer Twilight's question without any songs please..." Spitfire said. She released the beak to let Zazu talk.

"Very well then, Let's do it the old fashioned way." He said as he climbed off of Fluttershy's head and back down on her back.

"Okay. King Simba is a Lion, and so is the rest of the pri-" Zazu got cut off again, but this time, he was cut of by Rainbow.

"He's a LION!?" She screamed. Everypony's eyes were as big as dinner plates.

"B-But... How... How can he possibly be a Lion!?" Twilight asked. Realizing she had screamed, she put her hoof at her chest, took a deep breath, and breathed out in sync with her hoof that moved away from her chest. She looked at Rainbow and motioned to her to back away from Zazu. As fast as Rainbow had backed away, Twilight turned her head to look at Zazu again.

"Please continue." Twilight said.

Zazu sat down from his earlier standing position and and cleared his throat.

"Eherm... Now where was I... Oh! That's right! Simba is a lion. And so is the rest of his pride, naturally. We have Queen Nala, Simba's mate and, well, Queen. Princess Kiara. Daughter of Simba and Nala. Prince Kovu, Kiara's mate. And then we have the other members of the pride. I'll mention the ones I know. Since I spend most of my time around the king, I don't meet many of the others. We have Sarabi, Simbas Mother. Sarafina, Nala's mother. Vitani, Kovu's brother. Spotty, Chikata, Bubo, Minota and Tempy. That is the... 13 Lions I know out of the..." Zazu thought for a second. "37 Lions that are in the pride."

"O-Okay... It will be okay as long as they don't eat us up." Twilight said with a gulp.

"Don't worry about that Twilight Sparkle. We already have 2 non-carnivores living with the pride, so I don't think it will be a problem." Zazu replied.

"Well... Okay... Who are these two Herbivores then?" Twilight asked as she wore a worried look on her face.

"First, let me correct you Twilight Sparkle. Th-" Zazu began.

"Please, You don't need to say the whole name Twilight Sparkle. Just say Twilight." She cut off. Zazu nodded and cleared his throat.

"Okay. Let me correct you Twilight." Zazu stopped for a few seconds and looked at Twilight. She nodded at him as he had said it right, and continued. "They are not Herbivores. They are Omnivores as they eat insects and Fruit." Fluttershy gulped. "And their name is Timon and Pumbaa. They saved King Simba's life when he was just a cub. But I think you should ask them yourself when we get there. It is quite and interesting story to hear." Zazu says with a smile.

"Okay... So I've gotten my hooves on four rooms so you will be divided into groups of three and three, and one group will be four." Twilight says as she floats a paper out of her saddlebag. She reads quickly and folds the paper carefully.

"So... I've not made any groups. But uhh... I think we can manage. Right?" Twilight's puts on a nervous smile and twitches a little with her left eye. "How about Fleetfoot, Spitfire and Surprise in room 37, Is that okay with you guys?"

"Sure is Twilight." Spitfire says. Fleetfoot nods and Surprise smiles. "We'll head over there right away." And with that, Spitfire, Fleetfoot and Surprise walks down the hallway towards room 37.

"Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie to..." Twilight unfolded the paper and checked the rooms again. "Room 23. Sound good?"

"Okie-Dokie-Lokie!" Pinkie says with her normal high-pitched voice. She jumps up in the air and to everybody's surprise, she does a back flip and lands on her hooves with the biggest smile ever.

"Sound's good to me. What about you Fluttershy darling?" Rarity turns her head towards Fluttershy.

"O-Okay..." Fluttershy whispers. "And if I am not mistaken, I'll go with... Flutterfly." Zazu said.

"Fluttershy, and yes that is correct Zazu." Twilight smiled. Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy walked down the hallway towards their room and Zazu flew after them.

"Spec'-Wind, Soarin', Wave Chill and Rapidfire?" Twilight looked towards the group that already had been formed. "Da room is?" Rapidfire asked.

"33." Twilight nodded in the direction of the room that was just behind the group.

"Well dat vas easy." Rapidfire said as he entered the room.

"And then I guess Rainbow, Applejack, and I will get room 26" Twilight said as she put the paper back in her saddlebags. The three mares walked down the corridor just as the ship started moving.

"Welcome aboard! This is your Captain, Over-Seas speaking. We will arrive in Green Land Port in three days, so get comfortable!

"Celestia damn it, Soarin'!" Rainbow muttered under her breath. Applejack and Twilight still heard her.

"What is it Rainbow?" Twilight asked.

"Nothing." Rainbow said flatly. She hung her head a little bit in annoyment.

"RD, Jus' tell us what the matter is." Applejack said. Rainbow sighed.

"Soarin' did a miscalculation regarding the time we would have to spend on this boat." Rainbow raised her head, while Applejack and Twilight chuckled.

"That's it?" Twilight asked.

"Yes. As I said, nothing." Rainbow said before storming off.  Twilight and Applejack stopped walking and looked at each other in confusion, but shook it off as they started walk towards there room again.

Twilight walked into her, Applejack's and Rainbow's room for the night. This was the second night they all had to spend on the ship, and everybody thought it would become very refreshing to get off it. In the room, Applejack layed on her bed and was reading a book. Twilight looked out the door to make sure Rainbow wasn't there. When she was pretty sure that Rainbow absolutely wasn't in the corridor, she walked in and closed the door. She jumped up on her bed and layed down, looked at the ceiling.

"What are you reading Applejack?" She asked. The orange mare on the other side of the room looked up from the book and looked at Twilight.

"Ah'm reading 'bout fruits and how they grow." Applejack said. She took a paper piece and placed it between the pages of the book and closed it. When she had put it away, Twilight was the one to speak again.

"Have you noticed something... weird about Rainbow during these last two days?" She asked.

Applejack put her hoof under her chin and thought for a few seconds. "Well now that Y'all mention it... Ah' have seen Dash acting a bit strange when she's talkin' with that Soarin' guy." Applejack pointed out.

"Exactly!" Twilight said as she jumped out of her bed. When she had realized that she had yelled, she put on a sheepish smile.

"Oops, Sorry." Twilight apologized.

"Don't worry 'bout it Sugarcube."

Twilight cleared her throat and sat down. "I, Personally, am starting to think that something is going on."

Applejack put on a confused look on her face. "Like what?"

"Well... I think..." Twilight smiled and reached her head up and whispered something in Applejack's ear. At first Applejack looked chocked but then, She also had a smile on her face.

"Ah' have to agree Twilight..."

Scootaloo, Applebloom and Sweetie Belle were hiding in the Baggage part of the ship. One of them had gone to the kitchens for food and water every day and this time, it was Sweetie Belle's turn.

"Are you sure about this?" Sweetie asked.

"But, of course! Why would we send you anyways if we wasn't sure?" Scootaloo said with way to much confidence in her voice.

"B-But... What if they find me or us?" Sweetie asked.

"You will not get detected Sweetie! I promise!" Scootaloo said with a smile. (hd)

"O-Okay then." Sweetie said, as she prepared herself.

Sweetie belle climbed up the Ventilate system entrance that was just above them. She walked slowly and so carefully as possible to reduce the sounds of her hooves. She heard the door to the ventilate system close behind her. She now knew there was no way back. She gulped and continued to walk towards the kitchen. Sweetie made her way through the labyrinth that went over Dining rooms, Entertainment rooms and the rooms made for sleeping.

'If I remember what Scootaloo said correctly... The Kitchens should be just beside the Entertainment Room with the Ping Pony Tables. Sweetie thought as she looked down the grids that sat at the sides. She walked a few meters more before she heard the sound of Ping Pony balls bouncing back and forward.

'Aha! That must be it! Now just beside it...'

Sweetie Belle continued her walk before she could smell the smell of oatmeal. She speed up a bit and reached the grid above the serving table. Underneath her, she saw everything from oatmeal to salad to tomatoes, to applefritters and blueberry pies.

'Okay... Just gotta wait for the right moment...'She thought as she opened the vent to the ventilation system. She stuck her head down and looked around in the kitchen. Empty. She giggled lightly and jumped down. She started grabbing the food and put it in the bag Scootaloo had given her. She was just about to grab the last Apple fritter when...

"I swear I heard something!"
