Chapters Chapter 1 (revised) - All in a Days Work
"How much further Mummy?" Comet asked his mother. The mare turned her head to face the small light orange colt
"It's just in here Comet" his mother 'Starry Skies' said as she walked into a slightly dark cave and turned around to face Comet again. Comet saw his mothers face which had a blank expression plastered on it.
Her expression wasn't unusual since she had been like this since Comets dad had died after Comet's sister was born, Starry Skies put Comet's sister 'Scootaloo' who was named by the way she used to 'scoot' around the house on the ground below. she was a toddler now and was able to walk. She ran over to comet who picked her up so she could sit on his back, he turned to his mother, she sighed before she started walking out of the cave, comet was just about to follow when his mother said.
"Don't follow me. Stay here and look after your sister, I'll be back soon" Starry Skies said flatly, and with that she left the cave, soon it started to get dark and Comet's mother had not yet returned, he was holding his baby sister in his wings keeping her warm, she looked up at her brother.
"when is mummy coming back?" Scootaloo asked innocently. Comet had to put on a brave face and smile, he leaned down and kissed his sister on the forehead.
"don't worry Lu, she'll be back real soon, I promise" Comet said, just at that moment a growl came from outside the cave.
Comet gasped as he opened his eyes in his makeshift bed. He was sleeping on top of one of the many branches among the thousands of tree's in the Everfree forest.
Comet leaned over to see the forest floor but immediately pulled back when he felt the pain in his left wing. He turned his head to see the bandage that he had made from leaves and vines covering his broken wing, he sighed and got himself up checking for any bug bites or scares, he then looked down at his knife that he had fashioned from a Manticores tooth and some wood. It was wedged into the trees branch. He picked it up and put it in his fashioned holder which he kept close for emergency's.
Comet then slid down the tree and looked around, he looked at his coat which was bright orange in colour, he then checked his black and yellow mane which was still spiked as it usually was. Just then he heard a noise, suddenly he smelt that all to familiar smell
"Timberwolves" Comet said gritting his teeth together, he slowly took another couple of well planned steps checking each and every tree as it passed, then he could hear the loud breathing from a Timberwolve not to far from in front of him.
Comet took out his knife and secured it to his hoof before lunging in front of the tree. Suddenly the Timberwolve and two of its accomplices's jumped out but Comet was already waiting for them , he smashed the first Timberwolve in the face with a hard buck sending it to nothing but pieces on the floor before galloping into the Forrest ahead.
Comet could hear the Timberwolves howling before making there pursuit, he grinned as he rounded a few trees as he came to the lake, he saw a lone vine dangling from a tree, taking a rock in his mouth he grabbed onto the vine and secured it to another tree close by before shooting the rock towards the unsuspecting Timberwolves, smashing another one to bits, he jumped down and started to run but tripped up on another rock, he groaned as he smacked down onto the unforgiving Forrest floor. Comet got up steadily but the Timberwolve had caught up to him and it swiped at him with a claw sending him flying into a part of the Forrest he hadn't been before.
Comet clutched his side which was bleeding with three claw strikes engraved into his fur, comet gritted his teeth once more before he started galloping again, he didn't know this part of the Everfree but took his chances, he felt the pain from wounds screaming at him to stop but as the adrenaline mounted he kept galloping as fast as he could, he was shocked when he found a path, he scrambled onto it quickening his pace as he kept going, he rounded another and gasped.
Comet dug his hoofs into the ground stopping himself, when he re-opened his eyes he was staring at an alicorn princess, she had a lavender coat and had a purple and white star cutie mark, she looked down and was shocked at the sight of him , he sighed he didn't have time to explain , then his eyes shot open when he remembered why, he shook the alicorn who was still in shock
"get into that ditch now!" Comet said pointing to the muddy undergrowth she was unsure at first but he gave her a glare and she proceeded to do so.
Comet looked back to where he had came from. Just then the Timberwolve jumped from out of the tree's as Comet turned around, he just had mili-seconds left as he slid out of the way sending the Timberwolve into another row of trees.
The alicorn looked up from out of the ditch to see the young colt standing face to face with a Timberwolve, Comet slid under the animal, and before it could turn around to react he slashed his knife down on its back leg rendering it disabled for just enough time for comet the jump into the air and land hind legs down bucking the top of the Timberwolves head smashing it to a few fragments before the rest of the body fell onto the road.
Comet got up but was even more badly injured when he looked as his hind leg which had a deep cut from when he slid under the Timberwolve. He got his shaking legs to work and got himself up, he immediately felt pain again in his abdomen and proceeded to look for anything that could provide as a bandage, he looked around and saw the princess come out of the ditch, she had a shocked but very warm smile on her face
"y-you saved my life" the lavender alicorn said, Comet turned around from his search
"Your welcome , but you really shouldn't be out here" Comet said taking his knife from the romaines and putting it back in his now bloodstained holder. the alicorn felt tears coming to her eyes at the sight, she was staring at a teenage colt who was about 14 years old with gaping wounds and trying to survive for his life in the everfree.
"well thanks again but may I ask why are you here?" the lavender mare asked.
Comet didn't respond as he found a couple of leaves from the Timberwolves romaines and began tending to his wounds, the lavender unicorn stepped closer putting a hoof on comets shoulder stopping all his actions
"whats your name sweetheart" the alicorn said trying a more comfortable approach, Comet stammered her voice was warm and caring, thoughts of when he used to be called that ran through his minds, he felt a lump rise in his throat as he said
"u-um my n-name is C-Comet" he said, he looked up the the princess who had a genuine smile adorning her face
"Hi comet my name is Twilight Sparkle, what are you doing here if you don't mind me asking" she said.
Comet opened his mouth to speak but closed it before any words came out , he took more a defensive pose as he turned around to face the unicorn his lava orange eyes staring into her violet ones,
"I-this...this is my home" he said, twilight went wide eye'd at this and leaned down to meet the colt at eye level
"where are your parents sweetheart?" Twilight asked again.
Comets mind was in a rush at this point the princesses words where soft and almost motherly in comparison, he tried swallowing the lump that was stretching his throat as he felt tears well up in his eyes.
Twilight saw this and to Comets surprise he was pulled into an embrace, he couldn't hold the tears in any longer as he sobbed into the Twilight's lavender coat matting her fur, Twilight stroked the colts mane as he continued to bawl
"shh shh its ok Comet ,just tell me where your parents are" Twilight asked, Comet shook his head
"I-I-I don't have any p-parents" Comet said before breaking down and crying full force into the lavender mares shoulder, Twilight tightened the embrace on him until he calmed down to a few sniffles
"iIs okay Comet you don't need to say anything more if you don't want too" Twilight said. She felt the colt nod, she smiled again as she released the embrace, only to see her fur matted with tears, she looked back at the colt who now had a tear stained face and clutching his left side with a bloodstained hoof.
Twilight's face turned to one of determination, she levitated the colt onto her back and set back of down the road.
"w-where are you taking *cough* me?" Comet asked feeling light headed from the loss of blood, the lavender mare started to gallop when she noticed this the last words comet heard before he blacked out was
"just try and stay calm and awake, you're going to be okay."

so there you have it folks chapter 1 , this chapter is really just to set the scene of what comet usually did on a daily bases for the years that he had spent in the forest, i will post the next few chapters as quickly as i can

Chpater 2 (revised) - Waking up
Comet's eyes slowly opened to a blinding white light. He winced at this closing his eyes half over and waiting for them to adjust.
Once they did he found he was on a white bed, he looked down at his forehoof's which where covered in tubes and wires that where hooked up to monitors, he then looked down to his left side which had a big white bandage covering his wing and than another covering his wounds to his abdomen. Comet let out a sigh as he laid down on the pillow looking back up to the light, he then heard a voice.
"Oh my Celestia he's awake !, Comets awake!" the voice said, he was then quickly surrounded by nurses and doctors, all with shocked expressions on there faces.
"His blood and hart rate is normal doctor" a white nurse with a red cross on her clothing said to the doctor who nodded and smiled happily before turning to the injured colt.
"hello Comet, might i say you are a very lucky colt" he said, leaning down to face him
"I-I am?" Comet stammered the doctor laughed and nodded
"yes when the princess brought you in you had lost 47 percent of your blood, one of the worst Timberwolve cases I've come across, we thought you where dead for the past few hours but as you can tell by the beeping your hart rate has started to pick up" the colt said turning a happy expression.
"the Princess told us you saved her life from a Timberwolve, I can see judging from your wounds it gave a pretty good fight" the doctor said, chuckling slightly.
"you could say that" Comet retorted, the pair shared a chuckle
"well I'll tell the princess the good news she's been waiting in the hall since she brought you in 2 days ago" he said, Comet went wide eye'd at this. Suddenly the lavender mare rushed into the room, she proceeded to lightly hug Comet to his surprise he could feel tears begin to mat his coat, he cautiously hugged her neck until she calmed down, she then proceeded to sit on the chair right next to his bed, he turned his head to face her.
"w-why are you here?" Comet asked astonished, Twilight sniffed wiping her face with a forehoof.
"y-you saved my life Comet, I'm just returning the favor" she said, smiling, comet smiled but was confused by her words, just then the doctor returned and sheepishly walked over to Comet and Twilight.
"this might come as a shock to you Comet" the doctor said, putting the folder on his bed and proceeded to open it, it showed a picture of comet and all of his records like blood type and age etc. comet looked back up at the smiling doctor confused
"what is it ?" the colt asked as Twilight leaned in, the doctor proceeded to explain
"do you have any siblings comet?" the doctor asked curiously.
Twilight saw comets expression stiffen as he looked down and nodded slowly. Twilight put a wing round the injured pony knowing this was going somewhere in Comets mind that he didn't want to venture, the doctor smiled.
"could you possibly tell me about her" the doctor asked hesitantly. Comet nodded again, he didn't really care if his story was told to the whole world he knew that people wouldn't care anyway
"her name was Lu, or 'Scootaloo' as my father liked to call her, she was with me in the Everfree but something happened..and I don't think she made it out alive" comet said as he continued to look down at the white sheets on the bed, a smile tugged at his lips as he remembered all the memories of his baby sister, when he looked up to see not only a big smile still on the face of the doctor, but an even bigger smile on twilight his confusion went through the roof
"why are you guys smil-" comet said started but twilight cut him off
"sweetheart Scootaloo is here, she's alive!" Twilight shouted her entire face beaming, Comets expression lit up slightly to one of hope, he looked back at the doctor who smiled.
"yes as we found on your d.n.a match to your blood work that your a directly matched to Scootaloo, she has been in residence here for a few years in the Ponyville Orphanage before being adopted by-" the doctor said but his sentence was interrupted by twilight again.
"Rainbow dash!, she was adopted by Rainbow dash" twilight said finishing the sentence and turning to the colt on the bed
"oh Comet this is great news... I'll go and find them" Twilight said, before any objections could be made she was out the room, Comet started to smile as tears of hope and joy started to run down his face, he felt the doctors hoof on his shoulder
"don't worry comet , will get you back with your sister soon" he said,Comet grinned happily as he felt a rumble come on in his stomach, the doctor and comet shared a laugh
"yes I had forgotten you hadn't eaten in two days, nurse Redhart" the doctor said, turning to the nurse who was filling out paperwork, she turned and trotted up to the doctor
"could you please get this colt something to eat and drink" the doctor asked, the nurse turned to comet and smiled before nodding in approval and trotting out of the door, the doctor patted Comet on the shoulder before leaving the colt to himself again
Comet wiped of a lone tear that had silently left his eye lid, he wiped it of with a forehoof, he then started to remember all the times he had with Scootaloo, they did nearly everything together, when Scootaloo was born things where looking good, until Comets dad died.
Comet remembered the day perfectly, there was a nurse turned up at the door saying there had been an accident at the weather factory. It was as hard for him as it was for his mother, but after that day his mother changed and comet had been caring for Scootaloo by himself ever since Until that day came.
Comet's mind suddenly shifted to that day, Comet could still remember it clearly, how he was left there in that cave for so long, waiting and hoping along with his sister and then. Comet squeezed his eyes tightly trying to shut himself out from his mind, but the images just flashed through the darkness under his eyelids , comet put his head on the white pillow in his bed and sobbed quietly in the hospital room.

Kinda ended this chapter on a sad note there, sorry about that, anyway the next chapter will be happy as comet will finally see his long lost sister again, but what will happen to comet when he gets released from hospital ?

Chapter 3 (revised) - Reunited
Twilight was trotting through the grassy hills on the outskirts of town when she saw and orange filly and a cyan mare sitting next to a tree, she smiled and quickened her pace as she trotted up to them
"hey Rainbow dash ,hay Scootaloo" Twilight said apon arriving the excitement building in her voice, the two looked at the alicorn princess, Twilight could see the where tired ,probably from an intensive flying lesson
"haya Twi" Rainbow said getting up and running a forhoof through her spiked mane, she saw the excited expression on Twilights face and raised an eyebrow
"whats up with you Twi, found a new book on equistrian history that you haven't read yet" Rainbow said, Scootaloo started laughing ,Twilights face fell turning to one of annoyance, Rainbow grinned and rapped a forhoof around her, giving her a hit on the shoulder
"oh come on Twi, I was just teasing" Rainbow said, causing Twilight to sigh and shake her head playfully, whilst scootaloo was still giggling.
"so where have you been anyway Twi, haven't seen my egghead friend at all for like days now" Rainbow said as she pondered back to the last time she had seen her alicorn friend. Rainbow was used to not seeing Twilight for long of a periods of time anyway, the book trials Celestia gives her really do take too long to complete, Rainbow dash saw Twilight's face instantly perked up at the question
"oh ya ,SCOOTALOO I FOUND YOUR BROTHER!" Twilight blurted out all at once as she began jumping up and down in excitement.
Scootaloo stopped giggling when Twilight said that and sat upright on the tree her eyes widening. Rainbow looked at her adoptive daughter cautiously. Twilight stopped bouncing when she realized they weren't moving and looked at the two puzzled then rainbow spoke up.
"b-but I thought you told me he died saving you and him from a Manticore" Rainbow said shocked, Scootaloo was to shocked to reply and just nodded in response, then suddenly all eyes went back to Twilight, she proceeded to tell them the story of how Comet had saved her from the Timberwoves and was being treated at Ponyville hospital
"I NEED TO SEE HIM!" Scootaloo shouted to both mares surprise, she looked at her adoptive mother pleadingly Rainbow nodded confidently and the three ran off towards Ponyville hospital.
Comet put the tray of empty food down on the table beside his bed , he sighed as he looked back down to his forehoof's which where still covered in wires, he saw nurse Redhart collect his tray, she saw the colt was annoyed by his wired forehoofs and gently smiled
"I know there annoying but there meant to help you" she said, Comet nodded.
Just then the door burst open, Comet and Redhart looked over to where the sound had come from and saw Scootaloo running towards them, she slowed down and climbed up onto the bed, comet smiled and reached out his forelegs, Scootaloo's blurred vision from her tears of joy meant seeing was hard and she tripped onto the bed before scrambling over too him and hugging on to him for dear life, Comet could feel her tears fall onto his back, Scootaloo cried out the years of pent up emotions.
"I missed you so much Comet, I thought you where gone" Scootaloo said nuzzling comets neck, as Rainbow and Twilight gingerly approached the bed and took there seats as comet stroked the space between Scootaloo's wings calming her down as he hushed her.
"shh, its ok Lu ,its ok I'm here now, let it all out" Comet said as Scootaloo continued to let out her tears, soon after Scootaloo had stopped crying and just lay on comets chest listening to his hart beat as if to make sure her brother was still alive, just then the doctor appeared
"its good to see your reunited" the doctor said. Comet eased the embrace on Scootaloo and kissed her on the forehead affectionately whilst scoots kept nuzzling his neck that was matted together by her tears.
"well Comet it looks like things are in order, you'll be staying at Ponyville Orphanage" the doctor said.
Comet smiled at the thought of finally being able to sleep comfortably after a few years but when he saw Scootaloo and rainbow gasp he thought twice.
Scootaloo turned to Rainbow with a shocked and begging expression. Rainbow looked over to Twilight who was confused by the sudden gasping and motioned for her to come outside with her.
Comet looked at Scootaloo, "whats so bad about that place?" Comet whispered curiously. Scootaloo sighed and hugged her brother tighter.
"Lets just say its not a nice place" Scootaloo said as she watched Twilight and Rainbow dash leave the room.
Twilight closed the door to the hospital room and faced Rainbow, "whats all this about" Twilight asked with a confused tone
"Twilight...before I adopted Scoots you know how she used to always have cuts and bruises from her 'crusading'" Rainbow said hesitantly. Twilight nodded, not fully understanding where rainbow was going, but then she saw it in rainbow's expression, she gasped as it finally clicked in her head what rainbow was talking about.
"w-what can we do ?" was all Twilight could say, still slightly shocked. Rainbow sighed heavily
"I-I don't know Twi, I'm not going to say this in front of Scoots but I can't adopt another foal financially, I would need to become a Wonderbolt first" Rainbow explained, Twilight nodded in understanding, she gazed into the window to the hospital room. Scootaloo and Comet where talking whilst nurse Redhart took some more information from Comet for the Orphanage, she remembered about Comet saving her life, she also thought about how nice comet was to be around and how much of a loving brother he was too, she looked back over at Rainbow.
"Dash I need you to get the girls and meet me in the library, I'll wait until Comets discharged from hospital" Twilight said, Rainbow dash nodded and trotted off down the hallway , Twilight walked back to the door, she stopped in front of it for a few moments 'am i really doing the right thing here?" Twilight thought for a moment, she pushed the thought out of her head as her determination took hold, she went back into the room and walked up to Comets bed, Scootaloo looked up at Twilight still unsure what was happening about her older brother.
Nurse Redhart spoke up, "Okay Comet, your are hereby released from the hospital with a no-fly caution for a period of 2 months and a no-running warning until the bandage is off your leg and abdomen okay?" nurse Redhart asked, Comet smiled and nodded, Redhart smiled back before leaving the three ponies in the room.
Scootaloo broke the silence,"is Comet still going to the Orphanage?" Scootaloo asked hesitantly.
Twilight sighed, "I'm not sure yet Scootaloo, but first you two are coming to the library with me" Twilight said.
With that Scootaloo helped Comet of the bed and out of the hospital ,as comet walked out the front door he looked over the city of Ponyville which was a small town situated right next to the Everfree Forrest and another Forrest with white tipped trees and clouds that looked like tails which only seemed to be in that area of the woods.
Just then he felt a wing rap itself round him he looked over to see his sister standing next to him, he smiled as the two walked side by side next to Twilight as they made there way down from the small hill at the hospital to the town below.

There we are then 3 chapters in one day phew!, well to clear up a bit here the Forrest with the white tipped trees and clouds that looked like tails was meant to be the 'white tail woods' if you got that first time then congrats you win 1 scootapoint, in the next chapter we will meet the rest of the cast and hopefully comet gets adopted , question is which one of the five ponies will it be, and i'm being honest when i say i haven't decided yet, lol
