A Cut Crystal Voice
I whistled as I walked back the the library, it was a happy sort of tune; a little song some of the Cutie Mark Crusaders taught me, I've always wondered that; how did they come up with that name? It would take me a week to come up with that, apparently it took them a milkshake and two minutes or less.
We're a couple of misfits
We're a couple of misfits
What's the matter with misfits?
That's where we fit in!
I chuckled to myself about how oddly it was to fit to the gang, misfits was what they were and shall always be. I continued to whistle, with a bit of humming through in as I walked.
We're not daffy and dilly
Don't go 'round willy nilly
Seems to us kinda silly
That we don't fit in.
I walked past Rarity's boutique and my heart skipped up a bit, the whistling and humming got higher and more cheerful; my steps into slight skips.
"You are so pitiful." A mare's voice sounded, I looked around but no-pony looking or talking to me; the voice was as smooth as glass.
"Huh? Who's there?" I quietly called out, trying to keep up with my 'I am completely sane' respect in town.
"Oh, just some-pony." The voice giggled.
"Just some-pony? Pinkie? Is that you?" I called slightly louder, still trying to keep my voice down.
"Nope, not Pinkie Diana Pie, some-pony else." The mare called again.
"Rainbow Dash?"
"Tusk, tusk." The mare tutted. "Nope, shall I give you a clue? A riddle? An item to help?"
"Fine, just hurry up."
"Alright Mister I Got Places To Be." The voice said, being sarcastically startled.
"Just hurry will you? I do actually have places to-" I was cut off by the path being manipulated and deformed, I jumped back but couldn't stop staring at the warping cobblestone. When it had finished, there were six slabs of stone.
"Go ahead," the voice sounded like it was flirting. "Read the stones."
I walked up to one of the stones, it read;
Fluttershy; a great friend, she will be remembered.
Thinking it was a prank, I walked on the next, though I was slightly shaken. I bent down to read it;
Rainbow Dash; a Wonderbolt, a friend, almost like family to us.
Now I know this is a prank, I thought to myself. Smirking slightly. Rainbow is a great flyer but she isn't a Wonderbolt.
"Rainbow! I know that's you!" I called, looking around to see no ponies where around. "You got Twilight helping you right?"
"Oh, I forget how Spike is this... predictable." The mare taunted him.
"I am not predictable Rainbow."
"My voice isn't Rainbow's, or is it?"
"Your voice isn't but you can just change it."
"I'm gonna guess," the voice spoke sarcastically. "You can!" It spoke in Rainbow's voice.
"Told you."
"Are," it spoke in Twilight's. "You," It spoke in Fluttershy's. "Sure," it spoke in Applejack's. "Darling?" It lastly spoke in Rarity's.
"What's with the headstones anyway?" I pointed at the warped and twisted cobblestone, still hoping this was a prank.
"Just see." The voice said, though I couldn't see the mare, I knew she was grinning.
"I see six headstones, made out of cobblestone, in the middle of-" I was interrupted by a blinding light appearing in front of me, I covered my eyes from it and when I saw it was over. I let my arm fall, I was in a graveyard, musty and foggy.
In front of me, in a perfect line were the headstones I saw before. Fluttershy, Rainbow, Twilight, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Diana Pie.
I was finding this harder to be considered a sick prank, I backed off slowly and tripped over a small box. It was battered and shredding from time, it's lock was rusted and with a good cut you could break it. That's what I did, used my claws to cut through the lock.
Inside was the elements of harmony, clumsily thrown in; all slightly rusted and soaked slightly.
"What is this? What sort of prank is this?! It's sick!" I screamed, throwing the box at one of the headstones. It fell as the box connected with it. "Oh no, no, no, no, no, no!" I ran to the tombstone, I quickly scanned it for any damage but read it as I did;
Twilight Sparkle
A great friend, one of the best of friends,
a great leader, a great teacher, she shall be missed.
But down lower on the tombstone, the part which was covered with flowers, was more writing. As I moved the flowers out of the way, I could perfectly read it;
Long time, no see.
It was different to the other engravings, it looked more professional yet more hurried. I recoiled slightly.
"What is this sick prank? Huh?! What have I done?!" I screamed towards the grey clouds in the grey sky.
"This isn't a prank, this is the future, all caused by you." The voice taunted on.
"You're wrong, whatever you are!"
"You should really know me by now, I've known you."
"How should I know you? By a voice?! By a sick twisted voice?!" I screamed at the direction I could think it was coming from.
"Yes, I know you by a voice." It giggled.
"You know me because you've seen me! You can't tell who I am by my voice!"
"Fine, should I say who I am or not?"
"Tell me!"
"No spoilers," the voice chuckled. "goodbye Spike." It said.
"Hey! You can't just-"
Then the blinding light came back, I covered my eyes for the second time and waited for it to stop. When it did, I removed my hand. I was back in town, with a burning in my claw, I hit at my claw until the burning had stopped. Burnt in my claw were the letters: L, T, N, S.
