The Titan's Cage
Prologue
Load Full StoryPrologue
"Perit Insanus, you are accused of being guilty of attempting an atrocity only capable of a titan, what say you in your defense?!"
The scene before us is a Heaven court, overseen in the open by several gods of protection, and a few human onlookers. The ground made of dry soft clouds, the seats and stands made of gold. It is impossible to describe the gods, as they are in their dimension. They appear as nothing but balls of light, and the only ones who can see their form are other gods and titans.
Even then, the gods take the appearance of who they admire most, but most are prideful and admire themselves above all, making their true form, most of the time, how they think of themselves.
"I only wanted to see what would happen if I killed a God."
The God of Judgement sighed, "You thought it would be possible? No god has died since the beginning of time, and you attacked him with a golden paper clip, no less!"
"I don't deny it, and whether the weapon was small or not, it would have killed anything normal. You damn gods and your immortality take away all the fun of murder!" Said Perit, with a twisted smile.
"What is wrong wi-" "Nothing is wrong with me! You oppressive gods have always hated us titans, treated us like beings that have no rational sense! Immortal or not, you needed to be shown that you can still feel pain! I found this out when I made that god scream."
The judge looked at him with something that was mixed with anger and contempt, but before he could tell him how insane he was, Perit interrupted, "If I was serious, we both know I would have used my powers to snap his neck, but the point wasn't to kill him, it was to see if you could feel pain."
The judge let out another sigh, "I can't seem to read you, one second you say you wanna murder us, and the next you say you just want to test out fortitude, however, your actions speak clearly enough." He said as he took a sip of his, whatever that was.
"I hereby sentence you to an eternity in-" Before he could finish, Perit sliced an arm down, releasing a cut wave toward the judge. The wave only got half way to him, before one of the guard gods broke it with a glance, half of it cutting through the clouds, and the other half going into the blue sky. Perit didn't get a chance to say a word, he was smiling as the judge opened the dimension gate and locked him away.
The judge took a piece of cloud from the ground and wiped his brow.
"We don't have to worry about that sod anymore, now do we?" Said a human, who was watching from a distance.
The judge looked behind him and nodded, "He was locked away in the blood dimension, the only reason he is alive is because of his immortality, but yes, we won't worry about him any longer."
"Blood Dimension, also, how did you open the gate without a D.I.W?" Asked the curious human.
"You're a very curious human aren't you?" When he got no response he said, "We are currently in a location called the judgement circle right now. The first god created these to give us full power of judgement over criminal sods. As for your first question, it is an infinite plain of existence where almost everything is quite literally dead. You wouldn't be able to find any light there, but that one, that Perit, he would probably find a way."
The judge closed his eyes and gripped the bridge of his nose, and sighed for a third time, "Even if he found a way though, all he would find are red planets, among other unknown things."
"Why would all he see be red planets, and what do you mean unknown things? Don't you know your own prison?"
The judge immediately looked at him with anger apparent on his face, "Watch your tone with me, human!"
"Sorry! I just find it odd is all."
All the facial expressions were lost to the human, only seeing a ball of light turning red, and slowly back to blue.
"Alright, ill continue, but show respect gray-haired human!" After a nod from the human, he continued, "Honestly, why would you want a young face with gray hair, not to mention it covers your eyes. Humans I swear, if the all-father didn't create you, I would ask him to condemn all of you!"
The human frowned but said nothing.
"To answer your disrespectful question, yes, unknown things, but only because we gods have no power outside of our dimension, we can only influence and monopolize others." He bit his lip, "the only beings to keep their power outside their dimension are titans, which make them harder to contain, that is what the blood dimension is for."
The human was thoroughly interested at this point, waiting for him to continue.
"We know the planets are red because of the Dimensional Influential Windows we use to contact other dimensions."
Every human, god, titan, or other who has come to the Heaven dimension, knows that the D.I.W.s are. It is the device that invented ghosts, visions, miracles, and history.
"We lit up the eyes of a prisoner there and all we saw were red planets. Sadly, Even we gods can't control titans long, after a few seconds, he tore his own eyes out."
The human cringed slightly.
"Gruesome yes, but we didn't do it, it was the titan's loathing of us that caused him to do it."
'But you were the one who caused it' Thought the human.
"Is that all you wanted to ask, boy?"
"Yes, thank you for imparting a bit of your infinite wisdom on me." Said the gray-haired human.
"You're going home without telling me why you wanted to know?" Asked the Judge with a raised brow, and a yellowish hew.
"Just curious, and because knowledge is powerful." Said the human with a smile.
"Knowledge is also dangerous boy, don't forget that." The judge warned.
'Oh I wont' thought the human, as he made his way back to his cloud home, smiling as he thought about the plan that Perit had told him, long before he was banished.
*one Heaven day ago*
"You're insane!" Disc said as Perit told him the plan. Perit smiled as he withdrew his arm around his shoulder, "Think about it, nobody knows what will happen! I want to find out!" Perit said with a smile that eats babies.
Disc sighed and looked around his house for anyone who may be listening in. He looked a Perit's eyes, seeing as how they're red, instead of their normal angelic blue, he knew there was no way out of this.
"Fine, but i'm not to blame if you become lost in the damned prison forever!"
Perit's eyes slowly changed back to their usual blue when he put his arm around Disc's shoulder, "Don't worry, old friend, I don't blame anyone but myself for my own suffering."
"I don't think that is entirely true." Disc said before Perit eyes immediately turned red again.
"Oh it's true, I don't blame anyone for any suffering I feel, even if they ordered it. I never said I can't hurt them for playing a part though."
"That's not making me want to help you, but...."
*Flash back end*
He looked at his D.I.W with a look of worry. Every human over 3 thousand years old receives one in order to look at their dimension and how their line has progressed. But they are only able to view, not influence, only two types of human souls can influence. Extremely tortured, or extremely good.
Disc was born in the year 1992, the current year, is 5666, Disc's soul is 3699 years old. He received his D.I.W 699 years ago, and has had it ever since. Never used it though, Heaven has its fun, and he never needed entertainment. Only reason he was using it now, was because he owed an old friend something. Perit asked him to use his D.I.W to look into the blood dimension, the only way for a human to target a specific individual, is if that individual is thinking about them at that moment.
Extremely tortured people haunt the torturer because of the guilt that they feel, while the good watch over the ones who cared for them. People like Disc can't influence their dimension now, because almost nothing lives past 3 thousand years, only gods and titans can live that long.
He breathed a sigh to calm himself, and smiled at the irony of its appearance, "I wonder if you looking like a car engine with a plunger jammed inside was on purpose or on accident?" He said with a hint of humor. He put head forehead onto the plunger like appendage, and thought of Perit, his insane smile, his eyes that show his emotion, and his long, red hair, with its complimenting blue streak.
As the window opened, he saw nothing but black, black, and more black. He voiced out, "Perit? Are you there?"
To a human, this would sound ghostly and long, but to a titan, it was as clear as day, "Yea Disc, i'm here, and its as cold as a mother's glare." He said with a hint of annoyance.
"You're just lucky I keep my word, otherwise you would be stranded here." Said Disc with a harrumph.
"If you had a physical body, I would wear you as skin right now." Disc chuckled slightly, "Technically your are going to do that, just minus the death."
The plan was for Perit to possess his soul, and smash the D.I.W mid-possession. The hierarchy of possession is that a human ghost can possess a human, and god or titan can possess a human ghost. A ghost is what the humans call a human looking into a dimension as if they were, or are, from it. Its only true that its the soul of the deceased when they're viewing the dimension they came from.
As Disc's physical body in Heaven was possessed, his ghost body had plenty of time to think. It takes time for a titan to possess a physical body, while a god can do it instantaneously.
He began to wonder how titans didn't choke in this vacuum. He didn't choke because his body wasn't really there, but that didn't explain how the titan breathed, let alone speak. He knew they were immortal, but immortality doesn't mean he can't defy the laws of physics. Disc eventually decided it was just another one of the titans untold powers.
He then began to remember how humans can only access human dimensions, but only because the gods of other dimensions disallow any intervention from any other beings not from their dimension. Heaven gods monopolized the human dimensions, and the names of the other dimensions are unknown to humans in general. The blood dimension is accessible to everything, but only because almost everything in there is insane or dead.
He also pondered who the gods of the blood dimension were, who created this damned dimension? This plane of existence where everything started out dead.
He thought about the titans, how they are from every dimension, some glorified in some dimensions, while others hated. He learned that the Heaven dimension gods were based upon the titans, simply because of the first titans actions, "That damn Luci- whatever name was!" Perit always said.
He learned that some humans started in the Heaven dimension, and were able to see the gods, just like how the titans could. He thought back to the story that Perit told him about meeting one of them. He was banned from the Heaven Cathedral for over ten-thousand years, simply for how he greeted Jesus Christ.
Disc's ghost body laughed at the thought. One second Perit said, "Holy god its Jesus motherfucking Christ!" and the next, "Shit! What happened!"
The laughter fit died down after a few seconds, "Man, I wonder how he didn't got out of that without going to the Blood Dimension." He said with a smirk.
Perit was his main reason for his entertainment, he always loved how he teased the gods, how he poked and prodded them. The only reason he got away with it, was because he never did anything sinful, just mischievous. Never attacked a single person, never hurt anyone, just played with them.
Oh how Disc admired that titan, wished that he could be like him, free do to whatever he wished. He thought about how he once got more than four gods to break out into a fight. The chaos he wreaked was magnificent, and Disc got a front row seat, right next to Perit.
"Luci may have been a lil' shit of a titan, but he knew how to twist words like a god." Perit would always tell me. He told me how he got a massive people to get in a fight, playing with their morals like a cat with yarn. Perit would tell Disc how lucky he was to be with the all-father's side.
Perit normally became so somber after that story, so dark that the color of his eyes around his iris's became grayish-black. He never told Disc what happened after that.
As Disc's thoughts started to become somber itself, a massive cracking sound made itself known. In the endless black of the Blood Dimension, a light was being shown, he turned around to see the crack of light. He frantically called out, "Perit! Send me back! I don't want to be here!"
He was panicking a good bit before, "I'm coming Disc! I don't know whats going on, but the entirety of Heaven is shaking! I'm trying to give your body back, but it's being difficult!"
Even if the D.I.W is destroyed, it shouldn't be needed for a possession to end, normally the controller of the body would just release its hold, and end up back in its own body. The release should be instantaneous for any possession, so its odd that it would be difficult for Perit.
When the crack in the Blood Dimension looked like it was finally about to burst, Perit managed to get back inside his own body. There was a huge problem though.
The small amount of light getting through showed a terrible scene to Perit, he saw his friend, Disc, holding his throat like he couldn't breathe. This was bad because this meant he was no longer a ghost, a shadow of his real self, he was, in fact, now physically in the vacuum of the Blood Dimension.
Perit had barely enough time to grab hold of him, and use his choking form as a shield against the increasingly big crack in front of him. The explosion was similar to how the gods described the big bang, and Perit was blown away from his shield. He saw Disc's from seemingly evaporate in the light, as the light encompassed all of his view of the Blood Dimension. He hit something hard enough to send debris everywhere. It was probably a planet.
The last he saw before falling unconscious, was light enveloping everything in sight.
