Introducing The Dragon

In Golden Acorn Library, Jet sat annoyed in a circle, the main six and Spike surrounding him. Fluttershy was at his side with a small smile as the others grimaced and glared at the dragon next to her. Jet sent an equally annoyed glare at the rest of them, feeling ready to torch them all.

Breaking the rage-filled silence, Twilight spoke first, "So, we've all met... What was your name again?"

Jet growled at her, "None of your damn--"

"Jet... His name is Jet Stream." Fluttershy said interrupting the raging lizard. His nose fumed black smoke until she slowly placed a hoof on his black claw, being met by a small tint of crimson on his cheeks as he pulled it away and crossed his arms.

Twilight nodded and continued, "Right, Jet. We've all met him, though none of the meetings have been very... Enjoyable. But still, if Fluttershy is vouching for him, we should try and give him chance. So we should try introducing ourselves, I'll start." she said as she turned to Jet and smiled, "My name is Twilight Sparkle, and I am the owner of this library and student of Princess Celestia. Nice to meet you." she said holding a hoof out to him.

Jet looked at her hoof as if she was joking and chuckled darkly, "Oh, I'm supposed to pretend that you never tried to shoot me earlier? You can take your hoof and sho--"

"Jet..." The timid Pegasus by his side said quietly as she looked up at him, "Please try to be nice..."

Jet growled and was about to retort until he looked into her hopeful baby blue eyes and sighed, his anger washing away as he slowly reached out and grabbed her hoof, shaking it slowly.

Twilight made a surprised look and smiled, looking at the little dragon next to her, "Your turn Spike."

Spike nodded and looked up at Jet, "I'm Spike, I'm Twilight's #1 assistant and help out the others when I can. And if you ever touch Rarity again, you'll regret it. Got me?" Spike said threateningly as Jet rolled his eyes.

"Oh I'm so scared, the 2-foot high baby dragon is gonna get me! Seriously kid, if you want to fight me it's your funeral..." he said with a threatening look in his eyes, making spike slowly climbing back up into his chair and staying silent.

Rarity looked at Spike and then shot a glare at Jet, her teeth clenched in anger as she jumped off her chair and walking up to Jet menacingly, "How dare you frighten poor little Spikey-Wikey! He didn't do ANYTHING to you, and you threw him, and myself, at MY shop! You're just a big BULLY! Just like any other dragon!"

Jet grimaced, "You have a point to your senseless screaming or do you introduce yourself like this to everyone?" he said with a glare.

The albino unicorn made a wrathful glare back and sighed, regaining her composure, 'He's not worth it... He's trying to make you fight... You're better than this Rarity... You're a lady...' she thought to herself as she smiled, "No, nevermind. My name is Rarity, I am the Element of Generosity and also the owner of Carousel Boutique."

Jet scoffed and looked away from Rarity, an annoyed look in his eye. Rarity's eye twitched as she sat back in her seat and allowed the pink pony next to her to speak.

"Hi, I'm Pinkamiena Diane Pie, but my friends, which is everypony, calls me Pinkie Pie! I'm the Element of Laughter, because I love making my friends smile! Oh, I work at Sugarcube Corner, and live there with the Cakes and their children, Pumpkin and Pound! I hope that you'll be friends with me! I love making new friends more than anything in the whole super duper wide world, well, not as much as making my friends smile! Well, maybe I do, but I don't know. Maybe I like them equally and I don't even know it! But anyway, will you please be friends with me?!" she yelled, getting in Jet's face, no one noticed she'd moved at all.

Jet made a big smile, "Friends with you? That'd be great!" he said in an excited voice.

Pinkie smiled bigger until Jet's turned into an annoyed frown as his voice deadpanned, "Not..." he shoved her away as she bounced off the floor and back into her seat. Jet felt a strong urge to laugh but held it in, not wanting the ponies around him to hear his laughter. Pinkie grew a surprised look that turned into a small smile as she giggled. Jet had no idea what to make of this.

Next was the farm-mare that had been staying out of the conflict for the most part and she seemed highly confused. "Uh... Alright, Ah' ain't got the slightest clue who y'are, and Ah' don't remember meetin' ya', ever. So Ah'll just take Twi's word for it. Mah' name's Applejack, I'm the proud owner'a Sweet Apple Acres and the Element'a Honesty, so you can bet yer' big scaly tail that Ah' ain't lyin' when Ah' say that if you hurt any'a mah' friends again, Ah'll be on ya' like red on an apple." she said threateningly, getting in Jet's face.

Jet chuckled, "I don't know what's funnier, the fact you think a little pony like you, an earth pony for that matter, threatening me will actually SCARE me, or that hick accent you have!" he laughed harder at Applejack, who was now red with anger as she sat back down.

Rainbow Dash sat in her seat begrudgingly, tied to the chair so not to attack Jet, and yelled angrily, "Would you guys untie me so I can pound this stupid, overgrown lizard into dust already?!" she struggled against the ropes.

"Rainbow, we tied you down so you wouldn't do that. Or at least try..." Twilight said looking over at Jet who was tending to his claws with a file he'd found.

Rainbow groaned and looked up, "Fine, whatever! Look dude, my name is Rainbow Dash, I'm a weather pony, and I'm the Element of Loyalty. I'm not telling you anything else." she said making an annoyed look.

Jet smirked, "Your fun. I think I may actually like you. You're straight to the point, you don't threaten me, hell, you had to be tied down so you wouldn't try to fight me. That's cool." he leaned back in his chair as Dash and everyone else looked surprised by his words as he looked back, "What? I'm not allowed to speak my mind? Free country, right?"

Twilight rolled her eyes, "Well, I guess that's--"

"Now hold on a minute." Jet said interrupting Twilight. "We still haven't introduced ourselves." Jet gestured to himself and Fluttershy.

Twilight looked surprised but shrugged, "Um... Okay. Which one of you want to go first?"

Jet smirked, "I'll let Fluttershy go first I suppose. She is your friend after all. And besides, ladies first." he looked down at Fluttershy.
"Oh... Uh, okay. Um... Well, my name is Fluttershy... I live on the edge of Everfree forest... With my animals... I suppose I'm the veterinarian of the town... I'm the Element of Kindness... And I love taking care of animals, especially my pet bunny Angel." she said quietly, but they could all hear her.

Jet had kept his eyes in her the whole time and nodded, "I see, interesting. So, I suppose that just leaves me, right? Well then, here goes. My name is Jet Stream. My favorite color is crimson red, I'm twenty years old, my mother was a dragon and my father was a pony. Any questions?"

They all had surprised looks on their faces as Pinkie raised her hoof, "Are you a hybrid?" she asked cheerfully.

Jet crossed his arms and nodded, "Indeed I am... My father was a Pegasus, so I have his flying capability. No more questions. Are we done here?"

Twilight shook her head, "Well, we have to find out where you'll be staying, so... Who'll take him?"

"No way am I taking him!" Rainbow yelled.

"Ah' don't think we got much room fer' a dragon on the farm." Applejack said thinking aloud.

"Mr. & Mrs. Cake are really nervous about strangers, I'm sorry Jetty." Pinkie apologized.

"I wouldn't let this ruffian live under my roof! He's so very uncouth and barbaric!" she said angrily, turning her nose skyward.

"There's only room for Spike and I here..." Twilight reasoned.

Everyone in the room were in thought until Fluttershy spoke, "He can stay with me. He is my assistant after all..."

"Are y'all sure Fluttershy? I know you've dealt with all sorts'a animals, big and small, but a dragon like him? He's downright dangerous!" Applejack said panicked and worried for her friend's well-being.

Fluttershy shook her head, "I'll be fine, trust me."

Twilight nodded, "Alright everypony, go ahead and go home. Oh, Fluttershy, can I talk to you for a second?"

As everyone else walked out and went home, excluding Jet, Fluttershy walked up to Twilight, "Um, what is it Twilight?" she said in her usual quiet voice.

Twilight's expression became worried as she placed a hoof on her shoulder, "Are you sure you can handle him Fluttershy? I can station some guards if you want."

Fluttershy shook her head and removed Twilight's hoof, "I'll be fine Twilight. Jet won't hurt me. I have a good feeling about him..."

Twilight sighed, "Alright Fluttershy, but if he steps out of line, we'll all be there in a heartbeat. Okay?"

Fluttershy nodded and walked up to Jet who was waiting on the doorframe, talking to Spike as if nothing had happened earlier. Jet waved goodbye to the little dragon and walked out with Fluttershy next to him.

Spike walked up to Twilight excitedly, "Twilight, did you know Jet's fire is TWO colors?! Its red and black, and its so cool!" he cheered as Twilight kept a serious expression.

"Spike, I need you to write a letter to Celestia... This may be urgent..." Twilight said watching the duo of Jet and Fluttershy walk away and soon, out of sight.
