Bloody Mare Ree

Chapter 1: In The Beginning

It was a gorgeous sunny day in Hoovensdale, the birds were chirping creating harmonious song throughout the town as ponies were going about do their daily business. There was one pony in particular who is always so happy and full of life, helping everypony she can, her name is Sonic Lovebeat. A pure snow white unicorn who's horn is spiraled upwards, her mane covering the right side of her grey freckled face while one lock of her hair is covering her neck in the colours of a sandy yellow with a streak of a whiter, off-colour yellow on the left side of her horn. Her tail is the same mix of colours that nearly touches the ground with a clean messy style. Her cutie mark consists of 3 little red love hearts that go diagonally downwards towards her flank. Her eyes are the colour of a purple Amethyst crystral that radiate with kindness and always looking for somepony in need of help.

As Sonic trotted along looking at the scenery with a heart warming smile on her face, she spotted something that made her heart melt. That something was one of the ponies of Hoovensdale who kept looking at another with a look of adoration and love. Sonic looked over at the one who was being admired and saw a blush adorn her face indicating that she knew that those two female ponies were compatible with each other.Sonic knew that because she was known as Hoovensdale's Cupid, she knew she had to help so she walked over to the female pegasus who had electric blue fur,eyes that are neon green in colour, a startling silver tail that is medium length, layered and spiky while her mane is short at the back with a long fringe swept to the left.

"Heya Silver Flash, what's up?" Sonic greeted warmly.

"Huh, oh hey there Sonic. Not all that much, just thinking." Silver said shrugging her shoulders like it was no big deal.

"So you call staring at Cotton Bud's flank thinking?" said Sonic trying not giggle causing Silver's face to turn into a rosy shade of red.

"I...uh..n-no, that's not what i was doing." replied Silver turning away still blushing.

Sonic nudged her playfully. "Silver, I know you like her. They don't call me Hoovensdale's Cupid for nothing." she said boastfully.

"Haha, very funny Sonic. Fine i like her.... a lot. Her poofy cotton candy pink mane and tail that have a swirl of light blue in the middle of each look so fluffy. I could get lost in her lavender purple eyes forever, her shiny creamy white coat looks so soft. She is so nice, caring and upbeat, she takes care of the rose gardens as if they were her own family." Silver gushed.

"Seems like you've boarded the Crush Train with only one stop.... Love City. You're in love with her." smiled Sonic.

Silver opened her mouth to start talking again then closed it as the unicorn mare in conversation was trotting over with a smile that made her heart melt. 'Cotton Bud is so pretty and adorable' Silver thought.

"Heya Sonic." Cotton Bud chirped.with her sweet and bubbly voice. "H-Hiya Flash, How a-are you?" she squeaked while trying to force down a blush.

"H-Hi Cotton, I'm o-okay I-I guess." Silver stuttered trying to hide her blush.

"Hello Cotton." Sonic giggled as she watched the two mares blush. "Can I talk to Cotton alone for a bit please? If that's okay with you two.

"Alright and it's good with me." both mares said in absolute unison causing Sonic to giggle again.

Cotton and Sonic trotted off to a place a little more quiet which was underneath a nice oak tree, not too far from where Silver was.

"So tell me Cotton, do you like Silver? If I'm not mistaken you do like her, don't you?" Sonic questioned.

Cotton blushed severely "Uh w-well she is very a-athletic, absolutely gorgeous, r-re-really cool, strong, helpful, c-caring, f-fun to hang out with." she stuttered. "Oh know I'm getting carried away, I really am in love with her." she said as she shied away.

Sonic smiled warmly. "It's alright Cotton, i think you should go talk to her and see what she says. Don't give up on Silver" she said as she hugged Cotton.

"I won't give up Sonic, I hope she says yes" chirped Cotton as they trotted back over to the rose bed located to the left of the Town Hall where Silver was standing.

As they arrived, Silver looked over at Cotton, noticing a bright red blush adorn her face, Silver smiled. "Get everything sorted out you two?" Silver questioned the two mares.

"We sure did, isn't that right Cotton?" Sonic asked the blushing mare.

"That's right, we did get everything sorted out Silver." smiled Cotton.

"I know I shouldn't be sticking my muzzle into the business of other ponies, but i gotta ask. What did you two end up talking about?" Silver asked curiously.

Sonic smirked knowingly "Perhaps i should let Cotton do the explaining. After all it is her problem."

'Yeah, Silver is definitely my gorgeous problem.' Cotton thought. "Y-yeah, it is my problem so i sh-should be the one to t-talk about it Silver." she stuttered

Silver smiled "I'll listen to what you need to say Cotton." she said reassuringly.

"I'll give you some space so you can talk about it Cotton. Good luck." Sonic said as she trotted off.

Little did Silver and Cotton know, Sonic had concealed herself within a bush close by so she could eavesdrop on them. She needed to know the outcome of these two because after all she is Hoovensdale's Cupid.

"This is going to be hard to say Silver." Cotton spoke filled with dread, that she may very well be rejected by the mare she loves with her whole being.

"It's okay Cotton, just take your time. There's no need to rush." smiled Silver.

Taking a deep breath and swallowing her guilt. " Silver you are the most beautiful mare I have ever seen. You are so kind, always there to help whenever anypony is in need of it and you brighten up my day by just being you. Whether it be doing trick after trick in the sky without breaking a sweat, being lazy on any cloud in the area, walking through town casually, looking for competition in anything even if it's a staring contest against a cupcake, always being friendly to everyone even me. You've got me so love struck that when i see you my heart races, when you look at me with your neon green eyes, I get so lost in them that I forget what I'm doing." Cotton gushed with such love and passion in her voice. Before Silver could react, Cotton drove her point home with a small heart felt kiss on her lips. Cotton pulled away quickly "I love you, Silver and i want to know if you feel the same?" Cotton spoke with confidence.

In the bush where Sonic had concealed herself, her eyes were as big as dinner plates and her mouth open in surprise having witnessed the usually quiet Cotton Bud be so forward and straight to the point. Her mouth slowly curled into a small smile and her eyes going back to their original size. "I knew she had it in her."
