The Citizens of Ponyville were going about their usual business. Inside the Ponyville library near the train station, the young princess, Twilight Sparkle, was hard at work concentrating on a new spell she had been working on ever since she had returned from her travels in Canterlot High. “come on Twilight, give it a rest already” Said Twilight’s assistant, the young dragon Spike “you have been working nonstop for days! What are you working on anyways?” Twilight grunted after failing yet again and looked at spike with bloodshot eyes from the restless nights of work “Spike, you know how I feel about being interrupted during my work” She said in a tired voice “I’m trying to device a spell that will allow me to travel back to Canterlot High so I can take pinkie and the others to meet themselves from there, i bet they would make great friends with... well.... Themselves” Spike sighed and put a look of concern “well there’s a lot of time for that in the MORNINGS” he said “the night is for resting, and by looking at your eyes i can tell you really need it. So how about you take a nap and continue when you wake up, i’ll even clean the library while you’re asleep AND re-organize the books” Twilight was about to protest when a yawn escaped her lips and she blushed “yeah, i guess you’re right spike” She said as she started walking upstairs to the room yawning “Just remember, the books must be organized from A to Z, no exceptions.” Spike gave her a thumbs up and started doing what he promised he would. Twilight yawned and climbed onto her bed. As she closed her eyes she thought about her friends back in Canterlot High and how they helped her defeat and reform Sunset Shimmer. Soon enough Twilight was snoring as she slept peacefully and drifted off into dreamland. Twilight saw herself with her Canterlot High friends, they were in the park laughing and telling stories, Twilight was telling them about Equestria and some of her adventures with her pony friends. Pinkie was making them laugh telling jokes while Applejack poured some apple juice in six cups. Spike was in his puppy form digging around and running about. They seemed happy as they had fun. In the blink of an eye the sweet dream had turned dark as the scene shifted. Twilight found herself in a dark place, it seemed like time and space itself was around her. The ground felt hard, it had small craters on it and it was beich colored. She looked around and saw black pillars that had something shining on top. She found herself staring at some long black creatures, their eyes were pure purple and they seemed to have no mouths. The next sight sent a chill down her back, a black creature was swooping down at her at extreme speed. The creature looked like a large black dragon with razor sharp teeth and deep, purple eyes that looked like it could kill anything that came across its path. Twilight tried to run but her body seemed to be frozen in place, she tried to scream but she had lost her ability to speak. Twilight saw the dragon approach at extreme speeds and started to feel more scared than ever. The dragon was just five feet away when suddenly- “AAAAAAAH!” Twilight screamed as she awoke from her terrible nightmare. Spike, who was just finishing up re-organizing the books, heard the scream and rushed upstairs. He busted open the door and ran up to Twilights’ bed “Twilight! What’s wrong?!” He loudly asked in concern of what had happened to make Twilight scream like that. Twilight tried to think of what she had witnessed and tried to gather her thoughts together then spoke in a quivering tone “S-sorry spike, just had a terrible nightmare” She said “It was weird but it was only a dream so no need to worry” Spike looked at Twilight with concern “are you sure you’re ok?” he said. Twilight put on a brave smile “Yeah, it’s ok” She said. “alright then. How are you feeling?” Twilight yawned feeling both shaken up from the dream but refreshed from her nap “I feel like a new mare, you were right, a nap is just what I needed” She said with a wide smile on her face. Spike smiled widely “That’s great to hear!” He said “ Well I wanted to ask you if i could go walk to the Unicorn mountains for a little, i wanna get some jewels for another jewel cake. Can i please?” Twilight thought about it for a second. Sending spike to the very place Rarity got ponynapped by the Diamond Dogs all on his own. then again he also DID save the entire crystal Empire she thought. “Alright Spike, but please be careful, the last thing i need is another incident like the Timberwolves, remember no one will be there this time to help you out” She said. Spike blushed as he remembered the incident “Ya, i don’t want that either” he said laughing “Well thanks, i’ll be back later!” He opened the door and left closing it behind him. Feeling fully refreshed and rested, Twilight once again started to build up concentration. Her horn started glowing and she felt a tug in her stomach as an incredible amount of magic energy started building up in her body, unlike the other times that this didn’t happen so she took this as a good sign. She continued building up magic and pictured Canterlot high. Right when she was about to release the energy she remembered the nightmare she had and her eyes turned pure white as she released a wave of magic energy that spread all across Equestria.Twilight felt weak and numb as she collapsed on the floor from exhaustion, an effect that came from using so much power. She tried to keep her eyes open but her body fought back and won and she was thrown into a deep sleep. Welcome To MinecraftiaMine Their Way Out Chapter 2: Welcome To Minecraftia Twilight awoke with a splitting headache and an extreme craving for food, she didn’t care what, she was just hungry. She got up and looked around. This isn’t the library She thought maybe the spell worked! She looked at her hooves to see if they were replaced by hands or feet, but unfortunately they were still hooves meaning she was still a pony and her spell still failed. She took another look around. Where am I? She thought as she looked over the area. She seemed to be in a small wooden room with strange decorations all over the place. There was a small clock hanged on a portrait, it still seemed to work but only showed the sun and the moon. The sun appeared to be in the top and the moon in the bottom but Twilight could see it moving. There were weird paintings hung all over the room. On the far end of the room, Twilight could see a small working bench and an anvil in the corner Maybe a blacksmith lives here She thought. She looked down to see she was laying on a bed with red covers and sighed. Twilight was brought back to reality as she heard a small squeak coming from somewhere. She instantly turned to find the sound came from the door being opened. She looked at the doorway as a red Pegasus Stallion walked into the room. He had a shaggy, brown mane and a raggedy, brown tail. His eyes were deep brown and they shone as he put on an awkward smile. “Woah, sorry didn’t mean to startle you!” He said. Twilight stayed quiet and watched closely as the Pegasus started walking towards the bed. “Glad to see you’re finally awake” He said as he stood next to her. Twilight stared at him for a second and finally decided to speak “wh-who are you?” She asked. The pegasus looked at her and gave her a warm smile “Well missy you can call me Joystick. And what may I have the pleasure of calling you?” Twilight hesitated to answer seeing as she didn’t know this pony and she just randomly woke up in his house “Umm... My name is Twilight Sparkles” She answered. “Well nice to meet you Twilight” The young Pegasus said. His answer surprised Twilight a bit. Nice to meet you? She thought I thought that just the mention of my name would make him instantly know who i am. Everypony has heard of me becoming a princess, is it possible that this stallion hasn’t? Twilight decided to hide her wings by folding them on her back so the pegasus wouldn’t notice them. “W-What happened to me?” She asked. The Pegasus’ smile faded when he heard the question “Sorry Twilight, but I don’t really know” He admitted “I was walking back home from a little trip i took and found you lying on the ground as if you were dead. I checked your heartbeat and sure enough you were alive and breathing, however you seemed injured. I brought home with me and treated your horn but it seems pretty bad” Twilight tried to process all this then a thought struck her. “wait!” She said in panic “What do you mean by my horn seems pretty bad?!” Joystick looked uncomfortable and started stammering “well... You see.... Well.. You know what, why don’t you look at it for yourself.” He took out a small piece of glass he had kept in what looked like a chest and put it in front of Twilight. The Alicorn almost fainted at the sight. The upper part of her horn was burned black and the tip had been chipped off. She was panicking and started hyperventilating. “Hey calm down!” Joystick yelled. “It’ll heal over time! Just don’t bother it!” Twilight forced herself to calm down. “Sorry, thanks for helping me and taking care of me while i was asleep” She said. The Pegasus gave her a wide smile “No problem my friend.” He proudly said. “How long have I been asleep anyways?” Twilight asked. Joystick put a hoof on his chin and started thinking “hmmm... I believe it’s been two and a half days” He said. Twilight felt like a piano had been dropped on her head “Two days?!!!” She yelled. “How could i have been asleep for two days?!!” She started hyperventilating again. Joystick put his hooves on her shoulders “Hey! Calm down Twilight! Panicking isn’t going to help!” He said. Twilight listened and calmed herself down yet again, this time by putting her hoof to her chest, breathing in then breathing out and extending her hoove out, something Princess Cadence had taught her. “Ok, ok, two days. Now I just need to know, where am I?” Twilight asked. “Well, there is not specific name to it” Joystick said “But if you mean biome, then we’re in the plains.” Twilight looked at him in utter confusion. “Biome? Plains? Well i read some books on what a biome is, a natural area or special habitat, but what plains? There are no plains near Ponyville” She said. Joystick raised and eyebrow and looked at Twilight like she was crazy “Ponyville?” he asked. Suddenly the truth dawned him “Ponyville?! You mean.... You come from Equestria?!” “Well... Yeah” She said “Don’t you too?” Twilight was started to tense up. “Well of course I do!” Joy said. “But we aren’t in it Twilight, you just entered a whole new world!” Twilights stomach did a backflip when she heard him say that “What?!” She screamed. “New world?! Bu-but that’s... Wait... That means my spell worked! not the way I wanted it to, but it worked!” Joystick was now more confused than ever “What spell? You mean you wanted to come here?” He asked. “Well not exactly” Twilight said. “I WAS trying to go to a different dimension but not this place, what is this place anyways?” Joystick took a step and bowed “Welcome my dear Twilight Sparkle, to Minecraftia!” Reading Up On Some HistoryMine Their Way Out Chapter 3: Reading up on Some History Joystick felt like he was going to blow a fuse if twilight kept on asking him questions. “Minecraftia?!” She yelled. “What the hay is Minecraftia?! Why did my spell send me here?! What connection does this place have to Canterlot High?! Why-” “TWILIGHT!!” Joystick yelled causing Twilight to go quiet and look at him. “Sorry to yell Twilight but i needed to get your attention, and besides i’m sorry to say I that i don’t know how to answer any of your questions.” He gave her a sad look and she sighed calming herself down “Sorry, I’m just confused as to what brought me here” She said. “By the way, how come you don’t know about this place, don’t you live here?” Joystick gave a sheepish grin “well, not really” He said rubbing his head “You see, I was born in Equestria and-” He was interrupted by twilight “YOU WHERE?!!” Joystick shot her a look which made her shrink “hehe… Sorry about that.. Continue” She said Sheepishly. “well anyways” Joystick Continued “I was born in Manehattan. I had a pretty good life, and as you can see from my cutie mark, I’m a gamer” He looked over to the mark on his flank, an NES controller. “So how did you get here?” Twilight asked. “I was just getting to that” He said. “Anyways, all was good up until about 5 years ago. I went up to Cantelot to meet up with a friend of mine, she was in some high magic school or something and wanted me to help her with a new spell she had been trying to learn. I don’t know what the spell was but when she tried it on me, i was blinded for a few seconds and when i regained my vision, well… I ended up here” He looked at Twilight who looked surprised by his story. “How did you survive here?” She asked him. “Well at first I focused on trying to find my way back home” He explained “but then i found it pointless and decided to start learning about this place, I ate what the land had to offer and I built this very house, how you might ask, well i learned that this place has its own form of magic, it’s sort of weird and every living creature here can use it, even I learned to use it somewhat” Twilight was dumbfounded by this. “But your a pegasus, how can you use magic?” The young Alicorn asked. “I don’t really know” Joystick answered with a look of embarrassment “I just… Use it, I learned by just… Doing it. It’s very different from Unicorn magic that’s for sure, and it seems to respond to the user in multiple ways, and that’s about all I know” Twilight was beyond confused as she tried to wrap her head around all this “This all seems very interesting” She said as she thought. “I guess, OH WAIT!” Joystick said remembering something else “There is one more thing… This place is peaceful during the day… But going out at night is something else” Twilight gulped and seemed to be shaken up a bit by the news “W-what do you mean?” She asked. “Well you see… At night dangerous creatures come out… more dangerous than the Everfree forest itself” He looked at Twilight who was looking to her sides. “What type of creatures?” She asked nervously “Well, this might sound crazy but… Zombies, spiders beyond normal size, skeletons, and these weird green things” Joystick looked at Twilight waiting for a reaction but she only stared at him. “This all sounds very far fetched” She said “However, since i don’t know anything about this world i’ll take your word for it, but if this is true I don’t wanna be here much longer, maybe I can find a way back” “Haha, well good luck with that Twi” Joystick said with a chuckle. “Do you know any place where I can learn more about this world?” Twilight asked “I need to know if there is someplace around here where the so called magic of this world is strongest” Joystick thought for a second “hmmm… I don’t think so, maybe one of the books downstairs can help” he said. Twilight Jumped up at the mention of her favorite inanimate objects “BOOKS?! YOU HAVE BOOKS?!” She yelled, getting extremely close to Joysticks face. The pegasus blushed “umm.. Yeah.. They are in a shelf downstairs, now can you please back up a bit” He answered. Twilight noticed how close she was to him and blushed a bit “oh ummm, sorry” She said backing up slowly and looking down. Joystick felt a bit hot and changed the subject “So yeah, books downstairs, shall i lead the way?” He said. “Yes please” Twilight said avoiding looking at him. Joystick opened the door and let Twilight exit first then exited the room himself closing the door behind him. “It’s this way” He said taking the lead. He led Twilight down a flight of stairs and twilight stared in awe at how roomy his house was. “Wow this place is amazing, and great decor too, you really did do an amazing job building and decorating this place” She said. Joystick smiled at the comment “It was nothing I got a bit of help from the magic in this place” He said “Speaking of which, why do you need to know where magic is stronger here?” He asked as they entered another room. “Well with my horn in this condition, I can’t cast spells properly without some form of other magical help, and since you’re a pegasus, you don’t have magic so you can’t help” Her answer made Joystick frown a bit. Twilight realized what she had said wrong. “Oh no, no! I didn’t mean it that way! I just meant that well.. Ugh! I’m so sorry I-” She was cut off by Joystick turning around to look at her. “It’s alright” He said “I get what you mean, trust me it’s fine.” Twilight looked at him and brought him into a hug which shocked him a bit. “Still, i didn’t mean to make you think you’re useless, you helped me recover after all” She said. Joystick hugged her back and smiled “No problem Twilight” He said. After about a minute they separated and Joystick continued leading the way. They entered a small room that was filled with books on shelf and a black pedestal with a floating book on it. Twilight felt like she was back home in her library “So many books!” She squealed “Oh my gosh i have so much reading to do!” Joystick chuckled and picked out a book from the shelf and handed it to Twilight. “What’s this?” Twilight asked. Joystick pointed at the Title “If you wanna learn about this place I suggest you start with this one” He said “The Complete History of Minecraftia, this is what taught me some of the things I know, i never finished it though, I got up to the third chapter and kind of got bored and quit” Twilight shot him a look and turned to the book “Thank you, this should do fine” She said. “No problem, tell me what you learned when you finished” he said as he started walking out. On his way out he looked back at Twilight and noticed something that made him go wide eyed “Twilight!” he said shocked. “What? What is it?” She asked looking at the book. “Why do you have those?” He asked. “Have what?” She asked now a little irritated. “You… You have wings?!” He said. Twilight stumbled to stand up and turned to face him “oh! umm.. Those, well, umm” She was struggling with her words. She was trying to keep it a secret by having them folded but that blew up in her face “Well… Ugh, no point in hiding it then” She sighed. “Hiding what?” He asked suspiciously. “Well you see… I’m Equestrias newest princess… I was coronated a few months ago” Joystick stared at Twilight wide eyed “You’re what?! But i thought there was only Celestia!” The pegasus said surprised. “What else has changed?!” Twilight sighed and started telling Joystick everything that had happened since she moved to Ponyville, from the return of Princess Luna, to the reformation of discord, even her coronation. By the end Joystick was left dumbfounded, trying to wrap his head around all this. “Let me get this straight” he said “You’re an Element of Harmony? But i thought those things were just an old poniestale” “Many ponies did” Twilight said unfolding her wings “but when my friends and I defeated nightmare moon everypony knew our name and that the Elements weren’t just a silly story” Joystick nodded in understanding “alright seems believable enough” He said with a shrug “well anyways, you can start your reading” Twilight set her attention on the book and Joystick exited the room to leave her to her peace. 3 hours later Joystick walked into the room and peeked in to find the young Alicorn was setting down the book and decided to walk in “You finished already?” He asked amazed at how fast she read. “Oh, yeah, it wasn’t anything” She answered blushing “Anyways where were you?” “Nowhere, I was in the kitchen making dinner” He answered. “Oh ok” She said “Well I learned amazing things about this place, also some of the dangerous things, and that green thing you talked about earlier could be what is called a Creeper in this world” “Well that’s… Actually it’s a fitting name, those things give me the creeps” Joystick said with a shudder. “What else?” “Well according to the book” Twilight started “This world was created by a great God named Notch who cultivated the land and made the creatures, however other creatures were created on their own, those are the monsters of this world. Notch never expected this so he created great warriors to combat them, these warriors were the gods Husky, Deadlox, Jerome and the great budder warrior, Sky” Joystick looked at Twilight intently “Woah… That’s some pretty serious stuff, so are these gods still alive?” He said. “I’m not done, listen” She said giving him a look “Now. The gods battle the monsters and keep them in control, the ones that wander the world out here are the ones that made it out of their clutches. The one creature that only Sky and his powers of budder can vanquish is the Squids of this world” “Woah, I never thought those things could be so dangerous, i usually just pass by them” Joystick said shrugging “Anyways is that it?” Twilight nodded no “Not really, this part is the most important part of the book so listen carefully” The change in Twilights tone caused a little worry in Joystick “This isn’t the only world in this realm, there are more dangerous planes of reality in this very dimension. The Nether, a pit of never-ending fire, where the most dangerous creatures beyond the power of any of the monsters here..” Twilight paused before continuing seeing as Joy was getting worried “And finally… The most dangerous and the magic central of this world, and unfortunately the place I need to go to if I want to get home… The End… A place swarmed with dangerous creatures called Endermen, and the most powerful creature this world has to show…. The Ender Dragon” Joystick looked at Twilight with fear in his eyes “wow… to think I knew nothing of these things even though i’ve been here for years” He said shuddering. “What does it say about the dragon?” “Not much” Twilight said “Just that its power matches that of the great Minecraftian gods” Joystick gulped and showed fear “I-I can’t believe it” He said “I thought there was nothing stronger than the creatures I face each night… It’s spooky knowing there are more powerful ones…” Twilight noticed Joysticks worry and tried to change the subject “Anyways, what did you cook?” She asked. Joystick snapped out of his trance and looked at her “Oh, well i just made some bread a harvested a few apples and made some pumpkin pie” He said smiling. Twilight smiled “Great, come on i’m starving!” She said pulling Joystick and dragging him to the kitchen. “Calm down Twi” He said “I’ll serve yours first” He chuckled a bit as Twilight let him go. Joystick gave her a slice of pie 3 pieces of bread and an apple. “Eat up” He said “We need to get fueled up… Night is approaching and I need to teach you how to defend yourself here” Twilight looked at him in confusion “What do you mean?” She asked. “You’ll find out when the sun sets” Joystick said with a devious grin. Reunion In The First NightMine Their Way Out Chapter 4: Reunion In The First Night After a long and awkward dinner, Joystick and Twilight got up, washed their plates and walked to the living room. “Ok Twilight” Joystick said “See that sun out there, it’s about 20 minutes before it completely sets, i need to get you geared up by then, we’re going hunting tonight” A devilish grin formed on Joystick’s face as he said those words. Twilight looked at him with worry “ummm… What do you mean?” she asked with fear in her words “Hunting what?” “The monsters of course” Joy said “we can’t really let them think we’re prey, we have to show them WE are the hunters” Twilight gulped “H-how are we going to do that?” She asked. “Hold on a second” Joystick said “I’ll be back with the answer in a minute” The red pegasus exited and headed for his room leaving the princess alone with her thoughts. that is one strange pony Twilight thought I wonder how long he has been here exactly, i get the feeling it’s longer than he wants me to know, and he seems… well… lonely. Twilight’s thoughts began to move towards the pegasus himself he is kind of cute too She thought with a small blush forming on her cheeks and i’m thankful for him letting me stay here and not letting me die out there, he’s not bad…. Twilight shaked her head I musn’t be thinking like this, he’s just a cute pony who rescued me… Joystick entered the room at this moment and found Twilight deep in thought. “Hey you ok there Twi?” He asked snapping her out of her trance “You look as red as redstone” Twilight turned away “Oh it’s nothing!” She quickly said “Ummm, so are you going to answer my question?” Joy shaked his head “Oh right” he said. He reached into a saddlebag he had brought from his room and pulled out a small iron… thing.. “ummm… What is that?” Twilight asked in confusion. “Just grab it and concentrate on it” Joystick said “I learned it a while back” Twilight eyeballed the thing for a minute then did exactly what he had told her to do, in an instant the thing grew in her hoof and got heavier, before she knew it, Twilight was holding a full sized Iron Helmet. “Woah!” Twilight said shocked “That is amazing! How did i do that without using my magic?” Joystick chuckled “Sweet right?” He said “I don’t know exactly how, but it helps” He took out a helmet for himself and did the same. Once he had his helmet on he took out three more things, he did the same as the helmet but this time it was a chestplate, pants, and boots. He was now in full iron battle armour. “Pretty cool huh?” He said smiling at Twilight who was staring at him unbelievably. “now for your set.” He handed her a set of her own armour and she struggled putting it on. “Can’t. Put. On!” She said struggling. Joystick chuckled “Need help?” he asked. “Yes please” She replied. Joystick walked over to Twilight took her chestplate and started strapping it on. The Pegasus blushed as he was now close enough to the mare to notice her features toned body. He moved on to her pants and blushed even redder as he stared at Twilight’s plot and got a closer look at her cutie mark. Twilight looked back and noticed him staring and blushed as bright as he did “uummm… I think i can put on the boots” She said embarrassed. Joystick snapped out of his trance and looked up at her “oh, oh yeah ummm, yeah” He said backing up from the mare. After a long awkward silence both ponies looked at each other and joystick broke the silence “Well um, now you need a weapon, have you ever handled a weapon of any sorts before, or used your magic as one” “Yes, a few times before dealing with some… unwanted creatures” Twilight said remembering all her enemies. “Well what do you think you’re good at, close range or far range battle?” Joystick asked her. “Definitely far range” She answered with a bit of uptightness in her tone. “Alright then” Joystick said. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small object and handed it to Twilight “Do the same as the armour on that” Twilight did so and in no time had a bow in her hoof “Cool!” She said “Considering i can’t use magic, this will do, but where are the arrows” Joystick pulled out another object from the bag and handed it to Twilight. A sheath full of arrows grew in her hoof. “Ok, each sheath holds exactly sixty four arrows” Joystick said “So don’t waste them, i have about two more in my bag.” Twilight nodded. Joystick reached into his bag and this time the item that grew in his hoof was a sword made of iron. “you can still use a simple levitation spell right?” He asked her. “Yeah i can” She answered. “Ok good, use that to use the bow and arrows.” Joystick said. “You ready to go?” Twilight nodded “Yeah.” Joystick put on the saddlebag and opened the front door to reveal the sun had set in the sky and a beautiful moon was shining. Twilight walked out and Joy closed the door behind her holding the sword in his mouth “alright” He mumbled through the sword “from here on out keep an ear out for things” “Right” Twilight said nodding. “So what are we hunting for specifically?” “Anything that opposes a danger to us or the house” Joystick said “So we’re aimlessly killing?!” She said shocked “Not aimlessly” He said “In this world it’s kill or be killed, every creature of the night here aimlessly kill things, and they will not stop for anything” Twilight gulped “alright” She said “I’m not sure i can do it but ok” Joystick heard a groaning sound behind him and turned around “Just watch” He said. Twilight turned to see what he was looking at and froze as she saw a green creature with a torn up blue shirt and glowing red eyes. It was standing on two legs like humans and was walking slowly towards them. Joystick charged forward leaped into the air, flew a few meters up and dove straight at the Zombie, slashing it in half. The Zombie turned to dust and left behind a small object which Joystick picked up and put in his bag. “see” He said “simple as that” Twilight stared at him in amazement “wow…. That was pretty cool” She said staring at the pony. Joystick laughed “Twas nothing my dear Twilight” He said in a funny accent causing Twilight to giggle. “come on” he said “Let’s keep going” Twilight nodded and both ponies headed off into the woods stopping once in a while to listen to their surroundings. After a few minutes Twilight and Joystick stopped for a quick rest and sat on a fallen log. Joystick sighed and took out a small bottle of water he had in his bag which grew into a full grown bottle of water in his hoof and took a quick swig “Want some?” He asked Twilight. “Yes please” She said. She took a small sip of water and sighed then faced the pegasus “Joystick?” Joystick turned to face Twilight “What is it Twi?” he asked. “You know… I never really thanked you for… well.. taking me in even though you didn’t know me” Twilight said, her blush being hidden by the darkness of the night. “Well you don’t really need to?” Joy said “It was my pleasure helping you” Twilight giggled and moved closer to the pegasus “Still, i feel like i haven’t showed my gratitude” She said looking at him. Joystick looked into her eyes and noticed how they sparkled in the moonlight and got the messages she was throwing out there “oh..” he said “well i mean, you don’t need to… it was just some help.” “I know but… still” Twilight said leaning in. Joystick decided that there was no stopping what was about to come and leaned in as well. Joystick and Twilight’s muzzles where and inch away when they suddenly heard a groan and a clank from nearby and quickly separated and stood up taking an offensive pose. “Who’s there?!” Joystick yelled. A Zombie came out from behind a tree and started walking towards them and from the other side a Skeleton came out with an arrow loaded in his bow. “Damn it!” Joystick cursed “You take the Skeleton, I got the Zombie” “Right!” Twilight said loading an arrow into her bow. Joystick and Twilight were now back to back and stayed staring at the creatures in front of them for a minute. The Skeleton made the first move and shot an arrow that nearly got Twilight and started reloading it’s bow. Twilight took this chance and released and arrow which went through the skeleton’s ribs and missed him completely. On the other side Joystick was charging at the Zombie when he noticed it had a sword made of gold. He tried the same attack he did on the last one but this time the Zombie blocked it with his own sword. Joy sidestepped and sliced at the Zombie who blocked it and swung at him. Their swords were now clashed against each other and the two were at a stare down. Twilight reloaded her bow and nearly missed another shot. She jumped to the side and released an arrow and the Skeleton shot one of his own. Both arrows hit each other and spiraled in different directions. This time Twilight waited for the Skeleton to shoot it’s own arrow, once it did Twilight sidestepped to miss it, reloaded quickly and aimed down her sights. She released an arrow that pierced the Skeleton’s skull and caused it to burst into ashes and drop an item. Twilight picked up the item and it grew into three arrows in her hoof which she placed into her sheath. Joystick was having a hard time with this Zombie, no matter where he swung their swords always met and clashed. He had and idea and waited for the Zombie to strike. When the Zombie Swung his sword Joystick ducked and the blade cut a tip of his mane “HEY!” he yelled. He jumped up while the Zombie was recovering, landed behind the creature and quickly slashed it leaving a huge gash. The Zombie burst into ashes and dropped nothing. Both ponies were panting and walked over to each other “That was a close one” Twilight said catching her breath. “Tell me about it” Joystick responded. Joystick put his saddlebag on his back and faced Twilight “We should move on” he said. “But…. Alright” She said. She was disappointed that they didn’t get to finish their moment. “So Twilight” Joystick said as they walked “how was your first battle” Twilight sighed and panted “Brutal” She answered “But i guess it was ok” Joystick sighed “phew, i remember my first battle” he said “I fought with nothing but my hoof, i think i knocked some sense into them” he laughed at his own joke and Twilight giggled. “anyways, i think we make a pretty good team Twilight” He said smiling at the Alicorn. Twilight blushed “R-really? Thanks” She said smiling at him. Joystick signaled Twilight to stop “Did you hear that?” He said looking both ways Twilight looked at him confused “hear what?” She asked. “Listen closely” Joystick said. Twilight looked to both sides and closed her eyes. She knew that when a sense was blocked out, another one increases, so by closing her eyes, she blocked out her sigh nad increases her hearing. She listened closely and waited for something. For a while nothing happened until- “AAAAAAH!!!!!” She opened her eyes as she heard a scream in the distance. “Joy!” she said “You heard it right?!” Joystick nodded “Yeah!” He answered “it’s a scream!” The two ponies started running towards the source of the scream. Twilight and Joystick arrived in an opening where they saw a crowd of Zombies gathered. “What’s going on?!” Twilight asked in a panicked voice. Joystick looked within the crowd of Zombies and saw five ponies within them screaming. “There are ponies in there!” He yelled. “What?!” Twilight yelled. She looked within the crowd and what she saw shocked her more than the fact that Zombies were real “GIRLS?!!” She yelled. The mares screamed again and Joystick turned around to face the crowd. “Ok, listen, cause we don’t have time for a second explanation.” He said. “Try to shoot them from different directions while I attack them head-on with my sword. Now go!” With that said, Joystick charged at the crowd. Twilight gulped and sweat dripped from her forehead. “Ok Twilight” she whispered to herself. “Concentrate! Your friends are in danger and you have to save them!” Twilight put on a serious face and yelled “DON’T WORRY GIRLS, WE’RE COMING!” Joystick took off into the air and pulled something from his bag. The item grew into a bottle with some type of liquid in it. He drank the substance and immediately felt like he could outrace the Wonderbolts. He Dove into the crowd with a battle cry and started slashing at the zombies with incredible speed. Twilight took an arrow from her sheath and loaded it into her bow, she aimed by holding her breath and targeting a Zombie in the head. She released the arrow and sent it flying through the air, the arrow pierced the Zombie’s skull and ended up getting another one in the neck. Twilight took a deep breath and was amazed by her own work. Joystick was going berserk in the battle field, he cut a Zombie’s head off and it turned into dust. A Zombie was about to bite him when he jumped up, backflipped behind it and made a giant gash on it’s back, turning it into dust like the others. The zombies stopped focusing on the mares in the center and were now full attention on the purple alicorn shooting at them and a red pegasus slashing away at their comrades. Twilight noticed a zombie walking towards her and shot it through the heart. She loaded an arrow and focused on the zombies closed to her friends, who were staring at her and the red pegasus in surprise. She released an arrow that hurled itself towards a zombie near Fluttershy and it pierced the zombie hard enough to pin it against the tree near her friends. The mares shrieked as the body landed next to them and disintegrated into a ash. Joystick was fighting the crowd like a wild animal, the potion he had drank gave him speed to take out three zombies within fifteen seconds. He leaped and landed in front of the mares, who all yelped when he landed. Standing up, he looked at everyone of them before turning and rushing towards a zombie in front of them. The mares watched in amazement as the pegasus cut, ripped, slashed, and killed the creatures. Then their attention turned to their friend who was shooting an arrow through a zombie’s heart. They were amazed that Twilight was capable of this. Twilight ran towards a Zombie and used her bow to slam it down. She stepped on its chest and stared into it’s cold, red, dead eyes and gave it a hateful look “Don’t you EVER, mess with my friends!” With that said she released a loaded arrow from her bow and it carved right through the Zombie’s head and, like the rest, it turned to dust. On the other side of the battlefield, Joystick was protecting the five mares from the incoming wave, he sliced heads off and slashed through chests and stabbed through hearts. He was getting tired from every blow dealt, and received, his body was filled with scars dripping blood which his red coat hid. Unlike Twilight he was combating close range so he was more prone to injuries. Twilight had just finished annihilating the outer rim of Zombie and was about to rush over to help Joystick finish the job, however he yielded her to stop. “Don’t come any closer!” He yelled “I can finish this alone now” Twilight gave gave him a concerned look “But you’re swarmed!” She said. Don’t worry!” Joystick said. He turned to the mares who watched blood drip from his coat “You two!” he said, pointing at Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy “listen to me, fly your friends up to that tree! Don’t argue, just do it!” Rainbow Dash looked at her friends and nodded, she took a hold of Rarity, who shrieked, and Fluttershy took Applejack, Pinkie Pie seemed to have found a way up all by herself. Once Joystick saw they were all safely up in the tree he turned to Twilight. “Alright” he said. “Stay back, this won’t go too far” Twilight gave him a concerned look but did as he told her. She stepped back and smiled, he gave her a small smile then turned to face the Zombies a few steps away from him. He sighed and his weapon shrunk as he put it back in his bag. Twilight looked at him in confusion as worry started to creep up on her. Joystick stuck his hoof out of his bag. He was holding what appeared to be the same iron sword he had before, however as the item grew in his hand it was clearly noticeable that this sword was glowing. Twilight looked at the sword in thought then turned to Joy who had a sly grin on his face. "Alright,” he whispered. “Say goodnight you hellish demons.” He gripped the sword in his hoof and with one swift motion he struck the earth with it and sank it deep into the soil. Twilight looked in confusion at the action but immediately noticed the air had suddenly gotten warmer. Joystick looked at Twilight and mouth “go up” she hesitated but when she saw a small spark on the spot the sword had hit she flew up to a tree, that’s as far as her wings could take her. The Zombies were now face to face with Joystick, but when one tried to grab him, he leaped and kicked it. Joystick looked at his sword, still buried in the soil, then smirked when he saw a tiny spark. “Later,” he said to himself. At that moment the sword caught fire and caused a massive ring to form around it, which then spread up until the last zombie was enveloped in fire. Joystick looked at the zombies who were running around frantically on fire then turned to the mares. “Fly them as far as you can!” he yelled up “Twilight take care of them! I’ll catch up!” Twilight nodded and flew to her friends and directed them on what to do. Once they all took off, Rainbow Dash holding Rarity, Fluttershy holding Applejack, and Twilight holding Pinkie Pie, Joystick waited for every single zombie to finish burning. Once they did, the sword’s flames died out and Joystick walked up to his sword, picked it up, and put it in his bag. “Looks like it’s good for one more hit” he said. He spread his wings and started to fly towards his home, certain that Twilight had made it there with the others, blood dripping below him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At Home ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “So wait a minute” Rainbow Dash said “You mean to tell me that you tried to go back to the human dimension but got sent here?” “I’m afraid so” Twilight said. “And this stallion, Joystick” Rarity continued for Rainbow Dash “Took you in and protected you from THOSE hideous creatures out there” “They were zombies, and yes he did” Twilight answered. “Hold up a second,” Applejack intervened. “Why are we here then? How did we get sent here?” Twilight sighed and looked at them. “Well,” she started. “If what you told me on our way back here is true, and you all really did get here just today, then I might have sent a magic ripple through Equestria.” Twilight looked ashamed. “A magic whataple?!” Pinkie Pie said. “A magic ripple.” Twilight said. “Think of it like that ring of fire Joystick’s sword caused, it starts in a single epicenter, in this case me, and then spreads outwards, but I didn’t make the spell that powerful. It was only a test, so maybe only you girls and I got sent here. Being Elements of Harmony does attract magic so you girls must have attracted my spell, just later than expected” “All this sounds very confusing,” Applejack said. “But ah’ll take yer word for it Twi. By the way, where is this Joystick fella? He said he would catch up.” At that moment the door was opened, and the mares turned to see the pegasus in question limp in and give the am all a proud grin before collapsing on the floor. “JOYSTICK!” Twilight yelled as she rushed over to him. She checked him and noticed several open wounds and blood all over his coat “He’s losing too much blood! Help me bandage him!” Fluttershy was the first to rush over to him. “Twilight, let me handle him, I can take care of the wounds” She said in her usual soft voice. Twilight had tears in her eyes and nodded. “Ok… Just please take care of him,” she said. Fluttershy smiled at her and picked up the pegasus. “Is there a room here?” she asked. “Yeah,” Twilight said. “It’s upstairs to the right, it’s his room” Fluttershy looked at Twilight. “He’ll be ok,” she said as she flew the pegasus up to his room, leaving the rest of the mares stunned and in silence.
The Failed Travel SpellMine Their Way Out Chapter 1: The Failed Travel Spell The day was hot, the air smelled nice and sweet, the pegasi had kept the weather warm and cloud free for about three days now. The Citizens of Ponyville were going about their usual business. Inside the Ponyville library near the train station, the young princess, Twilight Sparkle, was hard at work concentrating on a new spell she had been working on ever since she had returned from her travels in Canterlot High. “come on Twilight, give it a rest already” Said Twilight’s assistant, the young dragon Spike “you have been working nonstop for days! What are you working on anyways?” Twilight grunted after failing yet again and looked at spike with bloodshot eyes from the restless nights of work “Spike, you know how I feel about being interrupted during my work” She said in a tired voice “I’m trying to device a spell that will allow me to travel back to Canterlot High so I can take pinkie and the others to meet themselves from there, i bet they would make great friends with... well.... Themselves” Spike sighed and put a look of concern “well there’s a lot of time for that in the MORNINGS” he said “the night is for resting, and by looking at your eyes i can tell you really need it. So how about you take a nap and continue when you wake up, i’ll even clean the library while you’re asleep AND re-organize the books” Twilight was about to protest when a yawn escaped her lips and she blushed “yeah, i guess you’re right spike” She said as she started walking upstairs to the room yawning “Just remember, the books must be organized from A to Z, no exceptions.” Spike gave her a thumbs up and started doing what he promised he would. Twilight yawned and climbed onto her bed. As she closed her eyes she thought about her friends back in Canterlot High and how they helped her defeat and reform Sunset Shimmer. Soon enough Twilight was snoring as she slept peacefully and drifted off into dreamland. Twilight saw herself with her Canterlot High friends, they were in the park laughing and telling stories, Twilight was telling them about Equestria and some of her adventures with her pony friends. Pinkie was making them laugh telling jokes while Applejack poured some apple juice in six cups. Spike was in his puppy form digging around and running about. They seemed happy as they had fun. In the blink of an eye the sweet dream had turned dark as the scene shifted. Twilight found herself in a dark place, it seemed like time and space itself was around her. The ground felt hard, it had small craters on it and it was beich colored. She looked around and saw black pillars that had something shining on top. She found herself staring at some long black creatures, their eyes were pure purple and they seemed to have no mouths. The next sight sent a chill down her back, a black creature was swooping down at her at extreme speed. The creature looked like a large black dragon with razor sharp teeth and deep, purple eyes that looked like it could kill anything that came across its path. Twilight tried to run but her body seemed to be frozen in place, she tried to scream but she had lost her ability to speak. Twilight saw the dragon approach at extreme speeds and started to feel more scared than ever. The dragon was just five feet away when suddenly- “AAAAAAAH!” Twilight screamed as she awoke from her terrible nightmare. Spike, who was just finishing up re-organizing the books, heard the scream and rushed upstairs. He busted open the door and ran up to Twilights’ bed “Twilight! What’s wrong?!” He loudly asked in concern of what had happened to make Twilight scream like that. Twilight tried to think of what she had witnessed and tried to gather her thoughts together then spoke in a quivering tone “S-sorry spike, just had a terrible nightmare” She said “It was weird but it was only a dream so no need to worry” Spike looked at Twilight with concern “are you sure you’re ok?” he said. Twilight put on a brave smile “Yeah, it’s ok” She said. “alright then. How are you feeling?” Twilight yawned feeling both shaken up from the dream but refreshed from her nap “I feel like a new mare, you were right, a nap is just what I needed” She said with a wide smile on her face. Spike smiled widely “That’s great to hear!” He said “ Well I wanted to ask you if i could go walk to the Unicorn mountains for a little, i wanna get some jewels for another jewel cake. Can i please?” Twilight thought about it for a second. Sending spike to the very place Rarity got ponynapped by the Diamond Dogs all on his own. then again he also DID save the entire crystal Empire she thought. “Alright Spike, but please be careful, the last thing i need is another incident like the Timberwolves, remember no one will be there this time to help you out” She said. Spike blushed as he remembered the incident “Ya, i don’t want that either” he said laughing “Well thanks, i’ll be back later!” He opened the door and left closing it behind him. Feeling fully refreshed and rested, Twilight once again started to build up concentration. Her horn started glowing and she felt a tug in her stomach as an incredible amount of magic energy started building up in her body, unlike the other times that this didn’t happen so she took this as a good sign. She continued building up magic and pictured Canterlot high. Right when she was about to release the energy she remembered the nightmare she had and her eyes turned pure white as she released a wave of magic energy that spread all across Equestria.Twilight felt weak and numb as she collapsed on the floor from exhaustion, an effect that came from using so much power. She tried to keep her eyes open but her body fought back and won and she was thrown into a deep sleep.
Welcome To MinecraftiaMine Their Way Out Chapter 2: Welcome To Minecraftia Twilight awoke with a splitting headache and an extreme craving for food, she didn’t care what, she was just hungry. She got up and looked around. This isn’t the library She thought maybe the spell worked! She looked at her hooves to see if they were replaced by hands or feet, but unfortunately they were still hooves meaning she was still a pony and her spell still failed. She took another look around. Where am I? She thought as she looked over the area. She seemed to be in a small wooden room with strange decorations all over the place. There was a small clock hanged on a portrait, it still seemed to work but only showed the sun and the moon. The sun appeared to be in the top and the moon in the bottom but Twilight could see it moving. There were weird paintings hung all over the room. On the far end of the room, Twilight could see a small working bench and an anvil in the corner Maybe a blacksmith lives here She thought. She looked down to see she was laying on a bed with red covers and sighed. Twilight was brought back to reality as she heard a small squeak coming from somewhere. She instantly turned to find the sound came from the door being opened. She looked at the doorway as a red Pegasus Stallion walked into the room. He had a shaggy, brown mane and a raggedy, brown tail. His eyes were deep brown and they shone as he put on an awkward smile. “Woah, sorry didn’t mean to startle you!” He said. Twilight stayed quiet and watched closely as the Pegasus started walking towards the bed. “Glad to see you’re finally awake” He said as he stood next to her. Twilight stared at him for a second and finally decided to speak “wh-who are you?” She asked. The pegasus looked at her and gave her a warm smile “Well missy you can call me Joystick. And what may I have the pleasure of calling you?” Twilight hesitated to answer seeing as she didn’t know this pony and she just randomly woke up in his house “Umm... My name is Twilight Sparkles” She answered. “Well nice to meet you Twilight” The young Pegasus said. His answer surprised Twilight a bit. Nice to meet you? She thought I thought that just the mention of my name would make him instantly know who i am. Everypony has heard of me becoming a princess, is it possible that this stallion hasn’t? Twilight decided to hide her wings by folding them on her back so the pegasus wouldn’t notice them. “W-What happened to me?” She asked. The Pegasus’ smile faded when he heard the question “Sorry Twilight, but I don’t really know” He admitted “I was walking back home from a little trip i took and found you lying on the ground as if you were dead. I checked your heartbeat and sure enough you were alive and breathing, however you seemed injured. I brought home with me and treated your horn but it seems pretty bad” Twilight tried to process all this then a thought struck her. “wait!” She said in panic “What do you mean by my horn seems pretty bad?!” Joystick looked uncomfortable and started stammering “well... You see.... Well.. You know what, why don’t you look at it for yourself.” He took out a small piece of glass he had kept in what looked like a chest and put it in front of Twilight. The Alicorn almost fainted at the sight. The upper part of her horn was burned black and the tip had been chipped off. She was panicking and started hyperventilating. “Hey calm down!” Joystick yelled. “It’ll heal over time! Just don’t bother it!” Twilight forced herself to calm down. “Sorry, thanks for helping me and taking care of me while i was asleep” She said. The Pegasus gave her a wide smile “No problem my friend.” He proudly said. “How long have I been asleep anyways?” Twilight asked. Joystick put a hoof on his chin and started thinking “hmmm... I believe it’s been two and a half days” He said. Twilight felt like a piano had been dropped on her head “Two days?!!!” She yelled. “How could i have been asleep for two days?!!” She started hyperventilating again. Joystick put his hooves on her shoulders “Hey! Calm down Twilight! Panicking isn’t going to help!” He said. Twilight listened and calmed herself down yet again, this time by putting her hoof to her chest, breathing in then breathing out and extending her hoove out, something Princess Cadence had taught her. “Ok, ok, two days. Now I just need to know, where am I?” Twilight asked. “Well, there is not specific name to it” Joystick said “But if you mean biome, then we’re in the plains.” Twilight looked at him in utter confusion. “Biome? Plains? Well i read some books on what a biome is, a natural area or special habitat, but what plains? There are no plains near Ponyville” She said. Joystick raised and eyebrow and looked at Twilight like she was crazy “Ponyville?” he asked. Suddenly the truth dawned him “Ponyville?! You mean.... You come from Equestria?!” “Well... Yeah” She said “Don’t you too?” Twilight was started to tense up. “Well of course I do!” Joy said. “But we aren’t in it Twilight, you just entered a whole new world!” Twilights stomach did a backflip when she heard him say that “What?!” She screamed. “New world?! Bu-but that’s... Wait... That means my spell worked! not the way I wanted it to, but it worked!” Joystick was now more confused than ever “What spell? You mean you wanted to come here?” He asked. “Well not exactly” Twilight said. “I WAS trying to go to a different dimension but not this place, what is this place anyways?” Joystick took a step and bowed “Welcome my dear Twilight Sparkle, to Minecraftia!”
Reading Up On Some HistoryMine Their Way Out Chapter 3: Reading up on Some History Joystick felt like he was going to blow a fuse if twilight kept on asking him questions. “Minecraftia?!” She yelled. “What the hay is Minecraftia?! Why did my spell send me here?! What connection does this place have to Canterlot High?! Why-” “TWILIGHT!!” Joystick yelled causing Twilight to go quiet and look at him. “Sorry to yell Twilight but i needed to get your attention, and besides i’m sorry to say I that i don’t know how to answer any of your questions.” He gave her a sad look and she sighed calming herself down “Sorry, I’m just confused as to what brought me here” She said. “By the way, how come you don’t know about this place, don’t you live here?” Joystick gave a sheepish grin “well, not really” He said rubbing his head “You see, I was born in Equestria and-” He was interrupted by twilight “YOU WHERE?!!” Joystick shot her a look which made her shrink “hehe… Sorry about that.. Continue” She said Sheepishly. “well anyways” Joystick Continued “I was born in Manehattan. I had a pretty good life, and as you can see from my cutie mark, I’m a gamer” He looked over to the mark on his flank, an NES controller. “So how did you get here?” Twilight asked. “I was just getting to that” He said. “Anyways, all was good up until about 5 years ago. I went up to Cantelot to meet up with a friend of mine, she was in some high magic school or something and wanted me to help her with a new spell she had been trying to learn. I don’t know what the spell was but when she tried it on me, i was blinded for a few seconds and when i regained my vision, well… I ended up here” He looked at Twilight who looked surprised by his story. “How did you survive here?” She asked him. “Well at first I focused on trying to find my way back home” He explained “but then i found it pointless and decided to start learning about this place, I ate what the land had to offer and I built this very house, how you might ask, well i learned that this place has its own form of magic, it’s sort of weird and every living creature here can use it, even I learned to use it somewhat” Twilight was dumbfounded by this. “But your a pegasus, how can you use magic?” The young Alicorn asked. “I don’t really know” Joystick answered with a look of embarrassment “I just… Use it, I learned by just… Doing it. It’s very different from Unicorn magic that’s for sure, and it seems to respond to the user in multiple ways, and that’s about all I know” Twilight was beyond confused as she tried to wrap her head around all this “This all seems very interesting” She said as she thought. “I guess, OH WAIT!” Joystick said remembering something else “There is one more thing… This place is peaceful during the day… But going out at night is something else” Twilight gulped and seemed to be shaken up a bit by the news “W-what do you mean?” She asked. “Well you see… At night dangerous creatures come out… more dangerous than the Everfree forest itself” He looked at Twilight who was looking to her sides. “What type of creatures?” She asked nervously “Well, this might sound crazy but… Zombies, spiders beyond normal size, skeletons, and these weird green things” Joystick looked at Twilight waiting for a reaction but she only stared at him. “This all sounds very far fetched” She said “However, since i don’t know anything about this world i’ll take your word for it, but if this is true I don’t wanna be here much longer, maybe I can find a way back” “Haha, well good luck with that Twi” Joystick said with a chuckle. “Do you know any place where I can learn more about this world?” Twilight asked “I need to know if there is someplace around here where the so called magic of this world is strongest” Joystick thought for a second “hmmm… I don’t think so, maybe one of the books downstairs can help” he said. Twilight Jumped up at the mention of her favorite inanimate objects “BOOKS?! YOU HAVE BOOKS?!” She yelled, getting extremely close to Joysticks face. The pegasus blushed “umm.. Yeah.. They are in a shelf downstairs, now can you please back up a bit” He answered. Twilight noticed how close she was to him and blushed a bit “oh ummm, sorry” She said backing up slowly and looking down. Joystick felt a bit hot and changed the subject “So yeah, books downstairs, shall i lead the way?” He said. “Yes please” Twilight said avoiding looking at him. Joystick opened the door and let Twilight exit first then exited the room himself closing the door behind him. “It’s this way” He said taking the lead. He led Twilight down a flight of stairs and twilight stared in awe at how roomy his house was. “Wow this place is amazing, and great decor too, you really did do an amazing job building and decorating this place” She said. Joystick smiled at the comment “It was nothing I got a bit of help from the magic in this place” He said “Speaking of which, why do you need to know where magic is stronger here?” He asked as they entered another room. “Well with my horn in this condition, I can’t cast spells properly without some form of other magical help, and since you’re a pegasus, you don’t have magic so you can’t help” Her answer made Joystick frown a bit. Twilight realized what she had said wrong. “Oh no, no! I didn’t mean it that way! I just meant that well.. Ugh! I’m so sorry I-” She was cut off by Joystick turning around to look at her. “It’s alright” He said “I get what you mean, trust me it’s fine.” Twilight looked at him and brought him into a hug which shocked him a bit. “Still, i didn’t mean to make you think you’re useless, you helped me recover after all” She said. Joystick hugged her back and smiled “No problem Twilight” He said. After about a minute they separated and Joystick continued leading the way. They entered a small room that was filled with books on shelf and a black pedestal with a floating book on it. Twilight felt like she was back home in her library “So many books!” She squealed “Oh my gosh i have so much reading to do!” Joystick chuckled and picked out a book from the shelf and handed it to Twilight. “What’s this?” Twilight asked. Joystick pointed at the Title “If you wanna learn about this place I suggest you start with this one” He said “The Complete History of Minecraftia, this is what taught me some of the things I know, i never finished it though, I got up to the third chapter and kind of got bored and quit” Twilight shot him a look and turned to the book “Thank you, this should do fine” She said. “No problem, tell me what you learned when you finished” he said as he started walking out. On his way out he looked back at Twilight and noticed something that made him go wide eyed “Twilight!” he said shocked. “What? What is it?” She asked looking at the book. “Why do you have those?” He asked. “Have what?” She asked now a little irritated. “You… You have wings?!” He said. Twilight stumbled to stand up and turned to face him “oh! umm.. Those, well, umm” She was struggling with her words. She was trying to keep it a secret by having them folded but that blew up in her face “Well… Ugh, no point in hiding it then” She sighed. “Hiding what?” He asked suspiciously. “Well you see… I’m Equestrias newest princess… I was coronated a few months ago” Joystick stared at Twilight wide eyed “You’re what?! But i thought there was only Celestia!” The pegasus said surprised. “What else has changed?!” Twilight sighed and started telling Joystick everything that had happened since she moved to Ponyville, from the return of Princess Luna, to the reformation of discord, even her coronation. By the end Joystick was left dumbfounded, trying to wrap his head around all this. “Let me get this straight” he said “You’re an Element of Harmony? But i thought those things were just an old poniestale” “Many ponies did” Twilight said unfolding her wings “but when my friends and I defeated nightmare moon everypony knew our name and that the Elements weren’t just a silly story” Joystick nodded in understanding “alright seems believable enough” He said with a shrug “well anyways, you can start your reading” Twilight set her attention on the book and Joystick exited the room to leave her to her peace. 3 hours later Joystick walked into the room and peeked in to find the young Alicorn was setting down the book and decided to walk in “You finished already?” He asked amazed at how fast she read. “Oh, yeah, it wasn’t anything” She answered blushing “Anyways where were you?” “Nowhere, I was in the kitchen making dinner” He answered. “Oh ok” She said “Well I learned amazing things about this place, also some of the dangerous things, and that green thing you talked about earlier could be what is called a Creeper in this world” “Well that’s… Actually it’s a fitting name, those things give me the creeps” Joystick said with a shudder. “What else?” “Well according to the book” Twilight started “This world was created by a great God named Notch who cultivated the land and made the creatures, however other creatures were created on their own, those are the monsters of this world. Notch never expected this so he created great warriors to combat them, these warriors were the gods Husky, Deadlox, Jerome and the great budder warrior, Sky” Joystick looked at Twilight intently “Woah… That’s some pretty serious stuff, so are these gods still alive?” He said. “I’m not done, listen” She said giving him a look “Now. The gods battle the monsters and keep them in control, the ones that wander the world out here are the ones that made it out of their clutches. The one creature that only Sky and his powers of budder can vanquish is the Squids of this world” “Woah, I never thought those things could be so dangerous, i usually just pass by them” Joystick said shrugging “Anyways is that it?” Twilight nodded no “Not really, this part is the most important part of the book so listen carefully” The change in Twilights tone caused a little worry in Joystick “This isn’t the only world in this realm, there are more dangerous planes of reality in this very dimension. The Nether, a pit of never-ending fire, where the most dangerous creatures beyond the power of any of the monsters here..” Twilight paused before continuing seeing as Joy was getting worried “And finally… The most dangerous and the magic central of this world, and unfortunately the place I need to go to if I want to get home… The End… A place swarmed with dangerous creatures called Endermen, and the most powerful creature this world has to show…. The Ender Dragon” Joystick looked at Twilight with fear in his eyes “wow… to think I knew nothing of these things even though i’ve been here for years” He said shuddering. “What does it say about the dragon?” “Not much” Twilight said “Just that its power matches that of the great Minecraftian gods” Joystick gulped and showed fear “I-I can’t believe it” He said “I thought there was nothing stronger than the creatures I face each night… It’s spooky knowing there are more powerful ones…” Twilight noticed Joysticks worry and tried to change the subject “Anyways, what did you cook?” She asked. Joystick snapped out of his trance and looked at her “Oh, well i just made some bread a harvested a few apples and made some pumpkin pie” He said smiling. Twilight smiled “Great, come on i’m starving!” She said pulling Joystick and dragging him to the kitchen. “Calm down Twi” He said “I’ll serve yours first” He chuckled a bit as Twilight let him go. Joystick gave her a slice of pie 3 pieces of bread and an apple. “Eat up” He said “We need to get fueled up… Night is approaching and I need to teach you how to defend yourself here” Twilight looked at him in confusion “What do you mean?” She asked. “You’ll find out when the sun sets” Joystick said with a devious grin.
Reunion In The First NightMine Their Way Out Chapter 4: Reunion In The First Night After a long and awkward dinner, Joystick and Twilight got up, washed their plates and walked to the living room. “Ok Twilight” Joystick said “See that sun out there, it’s about 20 minutes before it completely sets, i need to get you geared up by then, we’re going hunting tonight” A devilish grin formed on Joystick’s face as he said those words. Twilight looked at him with worry “ummm… What do you mean?” she asked with fear in her words “Hunting what?” “The monsters of course” Joy said “we can’t really let them think we’re prey, we have to show them WE are the hunters” Twilight gulped “H-how are we going to do that?” She asked. “Hold on a second” Joystick said “I’ll be back with the answer in a minute” The red pegasus exited and headed for his room leaving the princess alone with her thoughts. that is one strange pony Twilight thought I wonder how long he has been here exactly, i get the feeling it’s longer than he wants me to know, and he seems… well… lonely. Twilight’s thoughts began to move towards the pegasus himself he is kind of cute too She thought with a small blush forming on her cheeks and i’m thankful for him letting me stay here and not letting me die out there, he’s not bad…. Twilight shaked her head I musn’t be thinking like this, he’s just a cute pony who rescued me… Joystick entered the room at this moment and found Twilight deep in thought. “Hey you ok there Twi?” He asked snapping her out of her trance “You look as red as redstone” Twilight turned away “Oh it’s nothing!” She quickly said “Ummm, so are you going to answer my question?” Joy shaked his head “Oh right” he said. He reached into a saddlebag he had brought from his room and pulled out a small iron… thing.. “ummm… What is that?” Twilight asked in confusion. “Just grab it and concentrate on it” Joystick said “I learned it a while back” Twilight eyeballed the thing for a minute then did exactly what he had told her to do, in an instant the thing grew in her hoof and got heavier, before she knew it, Twilight was holding a full sized Iron Helmet. “Woah!” Twilight said shocked “That is amazing! How did i do that without using my magic?” Joystick chuckled “Sweet right?” He said “I don’t know exactly how, but it helps” He took out a helmet for himself and did the same. Once he had his helmet on he took out three more things, he did the same as the helmet but this time it was a chestplate, pants, and boots. He was now in full iron battle armour. “Pretty cool huh?” He said smiling at Twilight who was staring at him unbelievably. “now for your set.” He handed her a set of her own armour and she struggled putting it on. “Can’t. Put. On!” She said struggling. Joystick chuckled “Need help?” he asked. “Yes please” She replied. Joystick walked over to Twilight took her chestplate and started strapping it on. The Pegasus blushed as he was now close enough to the mare to notice her features toned body. He moved on to her pants and blushed even redder as he stared at Twilight’s plot and got a closer look at her cutie mark. Twilight looked back and noticed him staring and blushed as bright as he did “uummm… I think i can put on the boots” She said embarrassed. Joystick snapped out of his trance and looked up at her “oh, oh yeah ummm, yeah” He said backing up from the mare. After a long awkward silence both ponies looked at each other and joystick broke the silence “Well um, now you need a weapon, have you ever handled a weapon of any sorts before, or used your magic as one” “Yes, a few times before dealing with some… unwanted creatures” Twilight said remembering all her enemies. “Well what do you think you’re good at, close range or far range battle?” Joystick asked her. “Definitely far range” She answered with a bit of uptightness in her tone. “Alright then” Joystick said. He reached into his bag and pulled out a small object and handed it to Twilight “Do the same as the armour on that” Twilight did so and in no time had a bow in her hoof “Cool!” She said “Considering i can’t use magic, this will do, but where are the arrows” Joystick pulled out another object from the bag and handed it to Twilight. A sheath full of arrows grew in her hoof. “Ok, each sheath holds exactly sixty four arrows” Joystick said “So don’t waste them, i have about two more in my bag.” Twilight nodded. Joystick reached into his bag and this time the item that grew in his hoof was a sword made of iron. “you can still use a simple levitation spell right?” He asked her. “Yeah i can” She answered. “Ok good, use that to use the bow and arrows.” Joystick said. “You ready to go?” Twilight nodded “Yeah.” Joystick put on the saddlebag and opened the front door to reveal the sun had set in the sky and a beautiful moon was shining. Twilight walked out and Joy closed the door behind her holding the sword in his mouth “alright” He mumbled through the sword “from here on out keep an ear out for things” “Right” Twilight said nodding. “So what are we hunting for specifically?” “Anything that opposes a danger to us or the house” Joystick said “So we’re aimlessly killing?!” She said shocked “Not aimlessly” He said “In this world it’s kill or be killed, every creature of the night here aimlessly kill things, and they will not stop for anything” Twilight gulped “alright” She said “I’m not sure i can do it but ok” Joystick heard a groaning sound behind him and turned around “Just watch” He said. Twilight turned to see what he was looking at and froze as she saw a green creature with a torn up blue shirt and glowing red eyes. It was standing on two legs like humans and was walking slowly towards them. Joystick charged forward leaped into the air, flew a few meters up and dove straight at the Zombie, slashing it in half. The Zombie turned to dust and left behind a small object which Joystick picked up and put in his bag. “see” He said “simple as that” Twilight stared at him in amazement “wow…. That was pretty cool” She said staring at the pony. Joystick laughed “Twas nothing my dear Twilight” He said in a funny accent causing Twilight to giggle. “come on” he said “Let’s keep going” Twilight nodded and both ponies headed off into the woods stopping once in a while to listen to their surroundings. After a few minutes Twilight and Joystick stopped for a quick rest and sat on a fallen log. Joystick sighed and took out a small bottle of water he had in his bag which grew into a full grown bottle of water in his hoof and took a quick swig “Want some?” He asked Twilight. “Yes please” She said. She took a small sip of water and sighed then faced the pegasus “Joystick?” Joystick turned to face Twilight “What is it Twi?” he asked. “You know… I never really thanked you for… well.. taking me in even though you didn’t know me” Twilight said, her blush being hidden by the darkness of the night. “Well you don’t really need to?” Joy said “It was my pleasure helping you” Twilight giggled and moved closer to the pegasus “Still, i feel like i haven’t showed my gratitude” She said looking at him. Joystick looked into her eyes and noticed how they sparkled in the moonlight and got the messages she was throwing out there “oh..” he said “well i mean, you don’t need to… it was just some help.” “I know but… still” Twilight said leaning in. Joystick decided that there was no stopping what was about to come and leaned in as well. Joystick and Twilight’s muzzles where and inch away when they suddenly heard a groan and a clank from nearby and quickly separated and stood up taking an offensive pose. “Who’s there?!” Joystick yelled. A Zombie came out from behind a tree and started walking towards them and from the other side a Skeleton came out with an arrow loaded in his bow. “Damn it!” Joystick cursed “You take the Skeleton, I got the Zombie” “Right!” Twilight said loading an arrow into her bow. Joystick and Twilight were now back to back and stayed staring at the creatures in front of them for a minute. The Skeleton made the first move and shot an arrow that nearly got Twilight and started reloading it’s bow. Twilight took this chance and released and arrow which went through the skeleton’s ribs and missed him completely. On the other side Joystick was charging at the Zombie when he noticed it had a sword made of gold. He tried the same attack he did on the last one but this time the Zombie blocked it with his own sword. Joy sidestepped and sliced at the Zombie who blocked it and swung at him. Their swords were now clashed against each other and the two were at a stare down. Twilight reloaded her bow and nearly missed another shot. She jumped to the side and released an arrow and the Skeleton shot one of his own. Both arrows hit each other and spiraled in different directions. This time Twilight waited for the Skeleton to shoot it’s own arrow, once it did Twilight sidestepped to miss it, reloaded quickly and aimed down her sights. She released an arrow that pierced the Skeleton’s skull and caused it to burst into ashes and drop an item. Twilight picked up the item and it grew into three arrows in her hoof which she placed into her sheath. Joystick was having a hard time with this Zombie, no matter where he swung their swords always met and clashed. He had and idea and waited for the Zombie to strike. When the Zombie Swung his sword Joystick ducked and the blade cut a tip of his mane “HEY!” he yelled. He jumped up while the Zombie was recovering, landed behind the creature and quickly slashed it leaving a huge gash. The Zombie burst into ashes and dropped nothing. Both ponies were panting and walked over to each other “That was a close one” Twilight said catching her breath. “Tell me about it” Joystick responded. Joystick put his saddlebag on his back and faced Twilight “We should move on” he said. “But…. Alright” She said. She was disappointed that they didn’t get to finish their moment. “So Twilight” Joystick said as they walked “how was your first battle” Twilight sighed and panted “Brutal” She answered “But i guess it was ok” Joystick sighed “phew, i remember my first battle” he said “I fought with nothing but my hoof, i think i knocked some sense into them” he laughed at his own joke and Twilight giggled. “anyways, i think we make a pretty good team Twilight” He said smiling at the Alicorn. Twilight blushed “R-really? Thanks” She said smiling at him. Joystick signaled Twilight to stop “Did you hear that?” He said looking both ways Twilight looked at him confused “hear what?” She asked. “Listen closely” Joystick said. Twilight looked to both sides and closed her eyes. She knew that when a sense was blocked out, another one increases, so by closing her eyes, she blocked out her sigh nad increases her hearing. She listened closely and waited for something. For a while nothing happened until- “AAAAAAH!!!!!” She opened her eyes as she heard a scream in the distance. “Joy!” she said “You heard it right?!” Joystick nodded “Yeah!” He answered “it’s a scream!” The two ponies started running towards the source of the scream. Twilight and Joystick arrived in an opening where they saw a crowd of Zombies gathered. “What’s going on?!” Twilight asked in a panicked voice. Joystick looked within the crowd of Zombies and saw five ponies within them screaming. “There are ponies in there!” He yelled. “What?!” Twilight yelled. She looked within the crowd and what she saw shocked her more than the fact that Zombies were real “GIRLS?!!” She yelled. The five mares within the crowd of Zombies turned and looked beyond the Zombies “TWILIGHT!!” They yelled in unison.

Joystick looked within the crowd of zombies and saw five ponies within them screaming. “There are ponies in there!” He yelled. “What?!” Twilight yelled. She looked within the crowd and what she saw shocked her more than the fact that zombies were real. “GIRLS?!!” she yelled. The five mares within the crowd of zombies turned and looked beyond the zombies. “TWILIGHT!!” they yelled in unison. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The five mares within the crowd of zombies were terrified, shocked, but a dash of hope entered their hearts as they saw a familiar purple alicorn. “TWILIGHT HELP!!” They yelled again. Twilight looked shocked at the scene in front of her. Joystick shook her to snap her out of her trance “TWILIGHT! Come on we got to help them!” He yelled. Twilight shook her head and looked at Joystick “How? What do we do?!” She asked panicked as her best friends were about to be mauled by a group of Zombies. The mares screamed again and Joystick turned around to face the crowd. “Ok, listen, cause we don’t have time for a second explanation.” He said. “Try to shoot them from different directions while I attack them head-on with my sword. Now go!” With that said, Joystick charged at the crowd. Twilight gulped and sweat dripped from her forehead. “Ok Twilight” she whispered to herself. “Concentrate! Your friends are in danger and you have to save them!” Twilight put on a serious face and yelled “DON’T WORRY GIRLS, WE’RE COMING!” Joystick took off into the air and pulled something from his bag. The item grew into a bottle with some type of liquid in it. He drank the substance and immediately felt like he could outrace the Wonderbolts. He Dove into the crowd with a battle cry and started slashing at the zombies with incredible speed. Twilight took an arrow from her sheath and loaded it into her bow, she aimed by holding her breath and targeting a Zombie in the head. She released the arrow and sent it flying through the air, the arrow pierced the Zombie’s skull and ended up getting another one in the neck. Twilight took a deep breath and was amazed by her own work. Joystick was going berserk in the battle field, he cut a Zombie’s head off and it turned into dust. A Zombie was about to bite him when he jumped up, backflipped behind it and made a giant gash on it’s back, turning it into dust like the others. The zombies stopped focusing on the mares in the center and were now full attention on the purple alicorn shooting at them and a red pegasus slashing away at their comrades. Twilight noticed a zombie walking towards her and shot it through the heart. She loaded an arrow and focused on the zombies closed to her friends, who were staring at her and the red pegasus in surprise. She released an arrow that hurled itself towards a zombie near Fluttershy and it pierced the zombie hard enough to pin it against the tree near her friends. The mares shrieked as the body landed next to them and disintegrated into a ash. Joystick was fighting the crowd like a wild animal, the potion he had drank gave him speed to take out three zombies within fifteen seconds. He leaped and landed in front of the mares, who all yelped when he landed. Standing up, he looked at everyone of them before turning and rushing towards a zombie in front of them. The mares watched in amazement as the pegasus cut, ripped, slashed, and killed the creatures. Then their attention turned to their friend who was shooting an arrow through a zombie’s heart. They were amazed that Twilight was capable of this. Twilight ran towards a Zombie and used her bow to slam it down. She stepped on its chest and stared into it’s cold, red, dead eyes and gave it a hateful look “Don’t you EVER, mess with my friends!” With that said she released a loaded arrow from her bow and it carved right through the Zombie’s head and, like the rest, it turned to dust. On the other side of the battlefield, Joystick was protecting the five mares from the incoming wave, he sliced heads off and slashed through chests and stabbed through hearts. He was getting tired from every blow dealt, and received, his body was filled with scars dripping blood which his red coat hid. Unlike Twilight he was combating close range so he was more prone to injuries. Twilight had just finished annihilating the outer rim of Zombie and was about to rush over to help Joystick finish the job, however he yielded her to stop. “Don’t come any closer!” He yelled “I can finish this alone now” Twilight gave gave him a concerned look “But you’re swarmed!” She said. Don’t worry!” Joystick said. He turned to the mares who watched blood drip from his coat “You two!” he said, pointing at Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy “listen to me, fly your friends up to that tree! Don’t argue, just do it!” Rainbow Dash looked at her friends and nodded, she took a hold of Rarity, who shrieked, and Fluttershy took Applejack, Pinkie Pie seemed to have found a way up all by herself. Once Joystick saw they were all safely up in the tree he turned to Twilight. “Alright” he said. “Stay back, this won’t go too far” Twilight gave him a concerned look but did as he told her. She stepped back and smiled, he gave her a small smile then turned to face the Zombies a few steps away from him. He sighed and his weapon shrunk as he put it back in his bag. Twilight looked at him in confusion as worry started to creep up on her. Joystick stuck his hoof out of his bag. He was holding what appeared to be the same iron sword he had before, however as the item grew in his hand it was clearly noticeable that this sword was glowing. Twilight looked at the sword in thought then turned to Joy who had a sly grin on his face. "Alright,” he whispered. “Say goodnight you hellish demons.” He gripped the sword in his hoof and with one swift motion he struck the earth with it and sank it deep into the soil. Twilight looked in confusion at the action but immediately noticed the air had suddenly gotten warmer. Joystick looked at Twilight and mouth “go up” she hesitated but when she saw a small spark on the spot the sword had hit she flew up to a tree, that’s as far as her wings could take her. The Zombies were now face to face with Joystick, but when one tried to grab him, he leaped and kicked it. Joystick looked at his sword, still buried in the soil, then smirked when he saw a tiny spark. “Later,” he said to himself. At that moment the sword caught fire and caused a massive ring to form around it, which then spread up until the last zombie was enveloped in fire. Joystick looked at the zombies who were running around frantically on fire then turned to the mares. “Fly them as far as you can!” he yelled up “Twilight take care of them! I’ll catch up!” Twilight nodded and flew to her friends and directed them on what to do. Once they all took off, Rainbow Dash holding Rarity, Fluttershy holding Applejack, and Twilight holding Pinkie Pie, Joystick waited for every single zombie to finish burning. Once they did, the sword’s flames died out and Joystick walked up to his sword, picked it up, and put it in his bag. “Looks like it’s good for one more hit” he said. He spread his wings and started to fly towards his home, certain that Twilight had made it there with the others, blood dripping below him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ At Home ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “So wait a minute” Rainbow Dash said “You mean to tell me that you tried to go back to the human dimension but got sent here?” “I’m afraid so” Twilight said. “And this stallion, Joystick” Rarity continued for Rainbow Dash “Took you in and protected you from THOSE hideous creatures out there” “They were zombies, and yes he did” Twilight answered. “Hold up a second,” Applejack intervened. “Why are we here then? Twilight had tears in her eyes and nodded. “Ok… Just please take care of him,” she said. Fluttershy smiled at her and picked up the pegasus. “Is there a room here?” she asked. “Yeah,” Twilight said. “It’s upstairs to the right, it’s his room” Fluttershy looked at Twilight. “He’ll be ok,” she said as she flew the pegasus up to his room, leaving the rest of the mares stunned and in silence.
