11 Short Stories About Ponyville
The cutie mark crusaders stand watching the shops of Ponyville, thinking about all the things that they could be doing to earn their cutie marks right now.
"You know, sometimes I wonder what all those ponies do all day," Sweetie Belle said quietly. "There could be so many amazing stories about them all and nopony knows any of it."
Scootaloo nodded in agreement. "But does anypony really care?"
Apple Bloom thought about it for a moment. "Who knows," she sighed.
"Yeah . . ." Scootaloo and Sweetie said together.
Sweetie Belle stood up with a yawn. "Anypony want to go to Sugar Cube Corner?"
Scootaloo nodded as did Apple Bloom.
They all ran to Sugar Cube Corner with a kick in their steps, opening the door with a kick, they walked inside, looking for the perfect treat. Mrs. Cake stood talking to Pinkie Pie.
"Aw, I wish you'd come to my party Mrs. Cake. It would be so much fun."
"I'm sorry Pinkie, but I have to tend to the customers," she said as Scootaloo handed her a bit in exchange for a muffin.
The cutie mark crusaders left the building as the two talked, muffins in hoof.
"You see?" she asked Pinkie.
"Please come to my Party? It is going to be amazing."
"Well, I don't know, I really hate leaving the shop unattended, and Mr. Cake is out on business today . . ." Mrs. Cake paused. "But I guess for a few minutes I could party with you."
"Yay! Come on Mrs. Cake, its at Twilight's house," Pinkie cheered, leaving the store with a closed sign in the door.
When Mrs. Cake returned she opened the door to find Granny Smith waiting outside.
"Sorry to hold you up-" Mrs. Cake began.
"No trouble Dear, I don't need sugar anyway."
The music from the building next door played loudly as Derpy Hooves cleaned up her kitchen, her daughter Ditzy came up to her, stopping the music to talk.
"Mom? Can I go outside to play?" she asked sweetly.
"Have fun," Derpy smiled, nearly slipping on the wet splotch of soap on the floor.
"Yay!" Ditzy cheered, running outside.
She rushed outside and spotted something on the ground, she tried to pick it up but it got stuck in her fur, it looked like a bit of icing, but she wasn't sure. She rushed inside, worried it would be stuck forever.
"Mo-om, I got some candy or something in my fur!" she whined, a tear rolling down her cheek.
"You sure?" Derpy asked absent mindedly.
"Yes, and it won't come out- Oh no! I got my tail stuck in it too!" she cried, tripping on to the floor.
"Let my try something," Derpy said. "Go sit outside and let it melt, and then maybe I you can lick it off."
Ditzy nodded and trotted outside, a parasprite floated by her nose, one lick her leg it tickled, then another appeared, flying far off from her side as Ditzy gave chase, trying to catch it.
The small bug flew to the home of Lyra heartstrings. In the darkened inside of her house in Ponyville, an odd little mare sat in front of a small box looking intrigued. She had bright mint fur and a white and green mane. Her golden yellow eyes lit the room slightly as she stared into the red and blue wires in her hooves. She growled softly as she poked them together. Her eyes narrowed as she twisted the two together. A slam from behind her startled the poor pony, a peach furred mare stood at the door with a smile on her face.
"Lyra! I'm ready to-" she paused, tilting her head slowly.
A spark blew out from the wires and the intruder let a screech. "Lyra! What are you doing!?"
Lyra stood up to face her friend BonBon. "I was TRYING to fix this busted machine."
She kicked at the metallic box. BonBon walked into the dark room and lit the candle on the table. She stared wide eyed at the box and sighed. The box sparked again and Lyra fell back, her mane charred at the edges.
"Oh my Celestia! Lyra are you okay?" BonBon gasped.
"Course," Lyra said cheerily. "This would be so easy if I had-"
"I know Lyra, hands."
"We can go to the market now," Lyra smiled.
BonBon nodded and turned to go, her saddle bags empty and ready for the planned 'girls shopping trip' she galloped out the door, Lyra following almost begrudgingly with ashy smudges all along her cheeks. BonBon looked back at Lyra as she trotted slowly toward the market. The lights flickered back at Twilight's house where she cleaned the mess left behind by Pinkies party, she was very tired from the festivities.
"I guess it was fun, but *yawn* am I tired. I think I'll sleep and clean it up later . . ." she climbed up to go to bed.
Carrot Top walked bast the house and gazed into the fogged windows. "Quite a party they had . . ." she said as she trotted over to her friend Roseluck's house.
She knocked on the door with her free hoof and waited for Roseluck to answer. "Rose? Is dinner ready?" she asked, expecting to eat right away so she could go tend to her own vegetable patch.
"Just a minute, you sit down while I get it," Roseluck smiled.
She had left fresh flowers all over the table, Carrot sniffed them while she waited.
Rose gasped when she spotted the scene in her kitchen, the cake was rising to unimaginably large levels. It looked like it was about to pop right out of the oven. She rushed over to turn it off.
"No . . . my cake is ruined!" she shouted.
"Rose? Is everything okay in there?" Carrot asked.
Rose didn't answer right away, she thought for a moment and prepared to leap from her window and run to get a cake from sugar cube corner.
"Yeah, its fine!"
She rushed to Sugar Cube corner and came back with a lovely chocolate cake.
"I thought we were having vanilla?" Carrot Top asked.
"That's what I call chocolate cake in our family . . ."
"You call Chocolate Cake: Vanilla?" Carrot asked with a giggle.
"Yup."
"This tastes like Sugar Cube Corner cake . . ."
"You know what . . . I'm tired, I'm going to bed know, bye."
"I guess I should be heading home anyway, bye Rose," she replied walking out of the room. "What's that in your kitchen?"
"What!" Rose turned and gasped seeing a large tan colored thing emerging from the kitchen. "That is just a . . . er' . . . mountain."
"A mountain in your kitchen?"
"Yes."
"Can I see it?"
"No."
Carrot Top shook her head and left. "Bye Rose!" she called. "I'm on my way home!"
Colgate's ears perked up. "Hey Carrot, I was just on my way to Donut Joe's shop. Want to go with me?"
"Sorry Colgate, can't."
Colgate nodded and continued on her way. When she reached the little shop and sat down, Donut Joe turned to greet the mare.
"I wasn't expecting you here again Colgate, I thought you were against sweets?" he said as he cleaned off the counter.
"Oh that, Joe you know I could never give up these donuts . . . they are so good, can I have the usual, you remember it right?"
"Course' how could I forget? Double chocolate sauce topped with marshmallows on a normal vanilla donut," he smiled brightly going into the back to prepare the treat.
"Make it two, I want to bring Cheerilee one, she's been down since she got that new class of foals."
"Got it," Joe said from the back room.
"Thanks buddy," she said taking the donuts.
She walked out of the donut shop to find Cheerilee. The school was down a ways, she lined up to take the train , she hadn't been in a while and it would only take an hour or so. She boarded the train and to her surprise saw Applejack sitting alone.
"Applejack? What are you doing here?" she asked curiously.
"Oh, I'm just on my way back to Sweet Apple Acres, Ya' see, Rarity wanted me to see how er' dresses were doin' in canterlot with er', I got bored so I'm going back home."
"Oh, well mind if I sit while we wait for the train to get back to Ponyville?"
"Course not."
Colgate sat next to Applejack who had her hooves crossed angrily. Suddenly the train lurched forward. Applejack was thrown from her seat. The train conductor came out from the front car.
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but we have to stop here, there has been an error."
"Oh come on!" a familiar little voice emerged from the next car. "Applebloom, Scootaloo, we need to walk now!"
Applejack leapt up from her position on the floor and raced into the next car.
"Applebloom? What are ya' doin' here!?" she screamed.
"Sorry AJ, we were tryin' to get are cutie marks by train ridin'," Applebloom said.
"That is the silliest thing ay' ever heard. C'mon girls, off you go, were goin' home."
Applejack stepped off the train and the cutie mark crusaders followed grumpily behind.
Scootaloo looked back at the train with longing. Apple Bloom perked up quickly.
"So, Scoots, did we find anything about the stories of Ponyville, on ar' trip?"
"Nope," Scootaloo sighed.
"I didn't either."
"We should have told em' ar' stories, shouldn't we have girls?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Too late now . . . your sister is making us go home," Scootaloo whined.
