You Can't Always Giggle Away The Ghosties
You Can't Always Giggle Away The Ghosties
There was a new pony in town. Pinkie Pie hadn't seen her yet, but her Pinkie Senses sensed it. Her left front leg twitched when someone was new in town. This pony seemed hard to find. Pinkie grinned to herself. No pony could hide from her! The Discord-like magic she possessed in herself allowed her to go places no other pony could go. This pony would be no different to the ones that tried to hide, she was sure. Sure enough, an hour later the pony finally came into view. She was a black pony, but Pinkie couldn't see her eyes, cutie mark, or whether she was an Earth pony, Pegasus or Unicorn, due to the hooded black cloak she wore.
"HI!! I'm Pinkie Pie I don'tknowyournamebutitmustbereallyawesomeyouseemnewiwanttobeyourfriendandstuffwhatsyourname?" Pinkie jumped out from her party cannon, which materialised out of no where, and spoke at a million miles an hour. Naturally, the new pony shrieked and fell over backwards when the pink missile shot towards her.
"Oh...sorry...what's your name?" Pinkie asked more slowly, as Twilight had taught her. The new pony took awhile to stand up and straighten her cloak, careful to hide all her features.
"Umm...My name...My name is...Is Shadows..." she stuttered.
"Wowzies! I thought that Fluttershy was shy but this is something else...anyhoo, follow me! I have something to show you!" Without waiting for an answer, Pinkie grabbed Shadows and jumped through the space/time continuum. Re-appearing at the door of Sugarcube Corner, Pinkie bounced through the doors.
"Well? What you waiting for?" The bubbly mare sang out to the more reclusive one. Shadows timidly made her way through the doors.
"SURPRISE!!!!!!" Almost all the residents of Ponyville were packed into the small shop. For the second time that afternoon, Shadows screamed and fell heavily backwards. Already, ponies were dancing, singing, eating and trying to follow Pinkie's exuberant moves as best as they could and failing spectacularly.
"You like? I got all the ponies I could to come, they weresooooooooooooooooooexcitedforanotherpartythelastonewehadwastwilightscoronationpartyandthatwaswhoopdedoopcrazyandponiesgotsooooooooooooooooooodru-"
Pinkie's crazy speech was interrupted by Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Friendship.
"Yes Pinkie it was great. But I think you're overwhelming Shadows here...Am I right?" Twilight looked expectantly over to the cornered mare.
"Umm...kind...of..."
Pinkie's face fell.
"Oh..umm..heh I'm sorry Shadows. I just get excited easily, you know?...Umm...heheh" Pinkie granted Shadows an awkward smile then teleported back to the dance floor.
"She can be very crazy, but her heart's in the right place..." Twilight mused to herself. She didn't notice the drop of saliva slither its way down Shadows muzzle and drop to the floor.
The party lasted almost all night, and when Shadows finally made her way to her newly bought house, she was exhausted from meeting so many new ponies and eating a lot of cake. Most of all, she was exhausted by Pinkie Pie. The bright pink mare always seemed ready to pop up to introduce her to ponies that she instantly forgot the names of and never seemed to mind that Shadows didn't really want to dance or play musical chairs or do anything really, except skulk in the shadows, which is where she earned her name. She removed her cloak, but any ponies peeping in would have only seen blackness. Maybe a tinge of red, if their eyes were like an owls.
The next morning, Shadows slipped her cloak on and made her way into town, before many other ponies were up. Unfortunately for her, Pinkie shot out of her window and greeted her.
"HI! I always wake up early. Can I join you?" Pinkie got straight to the point that Shadows hadn't even uttered. Sighing, Shadows nodded her head. All through her shopping, Pinkie talked non-stop. It was very easy for Shadows to nod or shake her head in agreement or disagreement to whatever Pinkie said and tune out the other meaningless stuff she was going on about. Soon, they arrived at Shadow's door.
"Umm...Pinkie?" Shadows asked softly.
"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesie?"
"Umm....I have...I have to go...Home I mean..." Shadows whispered.
"Okie Dokie Lokie!" Pinkie shouted happily. In a poof of pink, glittery smoke, Pinkie was clothed in swimming equipment and waddled to a nearby pond where Rainbow Dash was sunning herself. Sighing, Shadows turned to her doorway. Turning her head, she watched as the fairy-flossed mane of Pinkie sunk slowly into the depths. Shadows suppressed the saliva in her mouth from dripping down her chin and walked inside. And this was how Shadows week seemed to go. Every morning, she went into town for groceries. And every morning, without fail, Pinkie was there in some other get-up. They would constantly part ways at Shadows front door, and Pinkie would always run off to some other activity. And Shadows mouth would always fill with saliva as she watched, from the shadows of her house, Pinkie do one death-defying stunt from another. On Sunday, she was finally ready. Walking through the door of Sugarcube Corner, she watched as Pinkie flew from behind the counter and landed in front of her.
"Yesie?" Pinkie inquired.
"Umm...Pinkie...Would you...umm...like to come for...for some cupcakes and punch? As...as a thankyou...for the...the party...ummm....now?" Shadows whispered.
"I'll just see with the Cakes. My shift should be over now" Pinkie called out to Mrs Cake.
"Mrs Cake! Can I go to Shadows place?"
"Yes dear, of course!"
"Thankyou!!!!" Pinkie jumped all the way back to Shadows house, while Shadows herself kept her head down. Jumping through the door, Pinkie looked around.
"Wowzies!!! It's so dark! Oooooooooooooo, maybe we could play murder in the dark!" Pinkie failed to hear Shadows both bolting the door and salivating all over the floor.
"Here Pinkie..." Shadows pushed a cupcake into Pinkie's hoof. "It won't be nearly as good as yo-" Pinkie cut her off by swallowing the cupcake whole.
"Oooooooooooo!! Delicious! It's so yummy!" Pinkie exclaimed.
"I'm glad you like it"
"Oh...um...wow...." Pinkie's head started to swim. "Maybe I ate it too fast! Could...could I lay down?" she asked her host.
"Of course"
"Ok...whe-" Pinkie thudded to the floor, her eyesight hazy and her mouth unable to move. As her vision faded to black, Pinkie caught a glimpse of Shadows.
'Why...why is she smiling?' That was Pinkie's last thought before she lost consciousness.
"Wha...where am...where am I?" Pinkie muttered, her eyes still closed. "Why am I positioned like this..." Slowly, Pinkie opened her eyes, expecting to be in hospital with weird tubes hanging off of her from an allergic reaction to whatever was in that cupcake. What she saw was definitely not a hospital. The dark, dank room was light by a single flickering light bulb. Trays full of needles, scalpels, knives and weird clamp things. Looking at her stretched limbs, she found that thick, black clamps and chains held her to a diagonal board, so she could almost stand on her hind legs.
"Oh. You're awake" a voice muttered from a corner. Shadows slowly slid into view.
"What? Why...Huh?" Pinkie stammered.
"For once, you're lost for words. I didn't think it was possible".
"Hey! Why re you doing this?!" Pinkie shouted.
"Scream...No one will hear you, so scream and shout all you want. I dare you." Shadows sneered.
"But...I..I thought...we...we were friends!" Pinkie wailed.
"Well. You thought wrong". Pinkie didn't understand why Shadows was doing this, but she was sure of one thing. This was planned. This was the stuff that happened in Manehatten, not Ponyville. She began to cry.
"Waa waa waa. Why do you all cry?" Shadows exclaimed.
"Wait!" Pinkie cried out. "Let me see you full!" An ounce of bravery was left. Shadows gave her a strange look.
"Oh alright. If it will shut you up!" She turned her back on the sobbing pink mare and slowly removed her cloak. "There. Happy?" turning to meet the pink mare, she showed her face for the first time. She was a Unicorn. Her eyes were red, redder than Vinyl Scratch's. Her cutie mark was the real horror story. It depicted a general pony stretched out, covered with blood, and a large kitchen knife laying nearby.
"Oh dear, sweet Celestia!" Pinkie screamed. Once she started, she couldn't stop. she screamed for almost a whole minute, muttering garbled words. she tried to do her Pinkie Teleportation, but it failed. there was some magic preventing her from using it.
"Ok...shall we get started?" Shadows said breathlessly. She picked up a needle filled with purple liquid. "I find it easier to concentrate when ponies aren't screaming".
"Wait...You...you've done this before?!" Pinkie cried.
"Of course! Otherwise how would've I got my cutie mark. You know my talent?" Shadows came up close to the wretched pink mare's face. "Murder". Plunging the needle into Pinkie's leg, Shadows pushed hard on the plunger. Pinkie screamed and wailed like a fire engine but no pony came bounding down the steps to rescue her. She was alone with a psychopath. Removing the needle none to gently, Shadows grinned. "Soon, you won't feel anything, except your head". Sure enough, Pinkie's limbs went numb within a matter of seconds.
"Shadows...I....I...." Pinkie soon became incomprehensible, due to her sobbing. Smiling, Shadows grabbed a scalpel from the tray with her magic.
'Black magic' Pinkie thought.
Bringing it closer to Pinkie's flank, Shadows grinned and dug the scalpel in. She wasn't lying about feeling no pain. Pinkie could feel nothing. She kept her mouth shut, knowing that she would not be found, ever. Moving the scalpel around Pinkie's leg, Shadows cut away a section of skin. Pinkie cried silently, her tears mixing with the blood dripping to the floor. Doing the same to the other leg, Shadows grinned happily. Throwing down the scalpel, she picked up sharp scissors and chopped away at the once bubbly mare's mane and tail. Placing the bits of skin and hair on another tray, Shadows giggled. She missed practising her art.
"Now. Time for the big stuff!" Shadows exclaimed wildly. Grabbing the clamps, Shadows put them around the bottom of Pinkie's hooves. At first they barely managed to stay on, but with a few deft twists, they started to break the trapped mares hooves. Pinkie screamed, even though there was no pain, at the sight of her hooves almost bending in two, and all the crimson blood that flooded all over the floor and covered her captor.
