a little voice in the dark

sing song had just woke up and she was already smelling pancakes, there were two voices coming from below her. she didn't remember going up any stairs

"mi... midnight?" sing song asked in a tired voice

"oh she's awake," one of the voices said as the sound of hooves got closer

"good morning little one I've got someone who wants to meet you" midnight said as he helped singsong out of bed and down the stairs.

"hello there, midnight told me about your predicament and i wanted to see for myself," a purple unicorn stated as she got closer to singsong.

"twilight don't be so upfront and business at least introduce yourself first," midnight said as he got singsong a plate of pancakes.

"oh yeah where are my manners, i'm twilight sparkle," twilight announced, as she unfolded her wings and shone her magic brightly.

"twilight? i've never heard of you, sorry" singsong said as she blindly started to eat the pancakes. twilight was taken aback by this comment

"never heard of me? i'm princess twilight, can't you see i'm an alicorn?" twilight shone again

"i'm sorry," singsong sat down as if she had said something wrong,

"um twilight, singsong is blind she can't see," midnight whispered to twilight

"i completely forgot about that, im so sorry little one," twilight apologized as she said some other things to midnight,

"oh singsong, will you be okay if i leave you alone for a bit, I've got some stuff to do today but ill be back soon," midnight asked singsong as he started to open the door and walk outside.

"i'll be fine, i guess i'll just stay here," singsong sighed as midnight started to cast a spell on singsong and a red orb started to float above her.

"you can wander around the house just try not to break anything please," midnight said as the door closed and singsong sat down.

sing song had been there for hours just sitting there, doing nothing, she was fast asleep when the door opened and midnight stepped in with a few friends following,

"is this the little one you are taking care of?" a pink earth pony asked as she bounced into the house

"of course pinkie, who else would be in here," the blue pegasus with the rainbow mane replied,

"aye' reckon' that this here bed is for her," another pony said as she  carried a small bed on her back,

"she looks like a lot of trouble, oh fluttershy, get in here darling," a marshmallow unicorn shouted

"i really really don't want to, what if she is mean, or scary looking," the soft yellow pegasus was pushed into the house by the pink one

"shhhh, she is sleeping please don't wake her yet, i'll introduce you to her as soon, but first lets get this bed up stairs," midnight said as he used a levitation spell on the bed and floated it up the stairs and set it down at the top, the blue pegasus flew up, lifted the bed and moved it right next to midnight's.

"let me wake her," midnight said as he softly nudged singsong "time to get up there are some ponies i want you to meet,"

singsong was slow to get up, she rubbed her eyes and yawned, "is that you midnight?" she asked

"yes, it's me, i've brought a few friends for you to meet," midnight stepped back and let the ponies introduce themselves

"hi there, i'm pinkie pie, i know your new here and i just know that you and i will get along just great wouldn't that be so much fun i can show you arou--" pinkie pie was cut off by applejack

"alright there sugarcube no need to talk her ears off, ahm apple jack, owner of sweet apple acres,"

applejack stuck a hoof out as a gesture for a hoof shake, sing song did nothing,

"i'm sure we will have time for pleasantries later applejack, but it's time for introducing ourselves, ahem, i'm rarity, owner of the carousel boutique," rarity whipped her hair extravagantly,

"yeah we've all been there rarity, but i'm sure she has heard of me, i'm rainbow dash, winner of the best young fliers competition," rainbow dash flew around in a tight circle,"

"you've already met me," twilight said

"i'm...fluttershy," fluttershy said shying away

midnight stepped forward and introduced singsong,

"this is singsong, she is blind, and she will be staying with me for a while," midnight said as he picked up singsong,

"oh, that must be terrible darling, i mean, good luck" rarity said as she took a look at singsong.

"well she doesn't seem to be a problem," midnight boasted as he saw the cutie mark crusaders from his window, they  were running around chasing spike.

"well, lets go get them," apple jack opened the door and shouted to the three fillies chasing spike around,

as the three fillies entered midnight's house they took notice that singsong didn't have a cutie mark yet , they jumped at the chance of having a new member. they too took turns introducing themselves

"hi there, i'm scootaloo," scootaloo said examining singsong

"and i'm apple bloom" apple bloom said while standing on top of scootaloo

"i'm sweetie belle," sweetie belle jumped up onto apple bloom's back

"and we are, THE CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS" the three shouted in unison

"wha... whats a cutie mark?" singsong asked as she fell out off midnight's magical grasp

"you mean, you don't know?" apple bloom asked

"it's the mark that tells you what your special talent is," scootaloo explained

"we have our secret society to find our special talent," sweetie belle continued

"girls, why not show her the clubhouse?" midnight asked "sing song has been stuck inside all day,"

"that's a great idea, we will show you around, but we can't stay out too late, it's a school night," apple bloom took singsong's hoof and pulled her along.

"midnight, you can't keep her at home forever, you should enroll her in school," twilight said as applejack opened the door,

"i'll go get miss cheerilee," applejack said as she walked out, and came back a few minutes with a cherry colored mare,

"whats this about a filly who isn't in school?" the cherry mare asked

"oh i adopted a filly, she is blind so i wasn't going to enroll her yet but it seems she should go, to make new friends," midnight said as cheerilee smiled as three fillies entered the house again,

"we didn't show her the club house, we didn't have time, scootaloo, had to go," apple bloom explained as midnight used his magic to pick up singsong and set her on the pillow he had laid out for her, all the other ponies started to leave, all except for cheerilee.

"so is this the little one you wanted to enroll in school?" cheerilee asked

"yes, mam, i'm always doing stuff during the day so i can't watch her all the time," midnight said as he signed all the paperwork for enrolling singsong into school.

"okay ill see her in the morning?" cheerilee took the paperwork and started to leave,

"yes and ill be there to guide her to the school house, good night miss cheerilee," midnight's said as he helped singsong up to her new bed.
