Hellsing: Equestria
{XVI}
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"What do you mean I can't take the Bat?" Twilight asked, almost pouting. Rarity gave her a sympathetic glance before she went back examining the rack of weapons she had before her.
"I am sorry darling but unfortunately The Bat isn't exactly the best thing you want on your side when dealing with a werewolf," she responded. "They are fast blighters when they get moving."
"So you're equipping me with a new armoury?" Twilight asked.
"Indeed. About time too. I haven't seen a single piece of vampire weaponry leave this armoury since you got your hands on the Bat."
"Well if Twilight gets a new gun Ah want one too," Applejack protested, the Bitten already slung in its holster across her back, shell bandolier fastened and in place.
"Like children at Christmas," Rarity mumbled, though the smile gave away her excitement. She found whatever it was she was looking for and turned to present Twilight with a handgun, this time a modeled on a gun Twilight didn't recognised (if she had recognised it however she would have seen it to be an MP 412 REX, though this is unlikely as the REX was never sold commercially due to a lack of market). The gun was definitely a revolver that she knew. A double, snub-barreled revolver, with six huge chambers. "May I present Hellsing ARMS 03215," Rarity said proudly. "The Hellsing BYS419 Tombstone. Barrel length two and a half inches, overall weight roughly four kilograms. Effective range of anything from right in your face to fifty metres. The Tombstone is one of my favorite designs as a double barreled close quarters combat revolver-shot-pistol." Twilight looked at her, confused.
"Revolver shot?"
"A custom design, wherein the revolver has been reconfigured to fire sixteen-gauge shotgun cartridges, rather than regular bullets. Double barreled to ensure maximum carnage, revolver frame to ensure easy reload and modeled into a handgun to increase mobility. Any vampire, werewolf or creature of the night shot anything nearer than ten metres and are still alive... well, they won't be crawling away to avoid their demise after that let's just say that."
Twilight's jaw dropped at the specs and Rarity laughed, handing the gun to Twilight. She took it with as much delicacy as she could muster, sliding on the holster Rarity also gave her, before slipping the gun neatly into place on her hip, along with a specially belt that doubled up as a shell bandolier, filled to the seems with shells for the Tombstone.
"You've been holdin' out on us Rares," Applejack whistled.
"I haven't forgotten you my dear," Rarity winked, presenting another gun to Applejack. One that looked very similar to an IMI Desert Eagle. However it was longer. It was chunky. It looked particularly heavy too, for a pistol. "For you Applejack, I present Hellsing ARMS 02369, the Hellsing STH14 Fang. Barrel length of thirteen inches, total weight of nearly three kilograms, with a maximum magazine capacity of ten .50 Action Express rounds. A close quarters combat pistol, but with a maximum range of five-hundred metres and with an immediate muzzle velocity of six-hundred metres per second. in theory, at point blank range this thing could take the head clean off a wild bear, or kill a full grown elephant dead."
Applejack whistled in appreciation, taking the new weapon from Rarity's grasp and looking at it fervently, checking all the working parts were in order. Twilight however glanced over to where Rarity was pouring over the 'Vampire Only' guns. She was surprised however to see something plastered on the wall next to where the Casull laid in wait. A blueprint, depicting something that looked like the Casull but, not... almost like the two were related.
"What's that?" Twilight couldn't help but ask.
"Hmm?" Rarity hummed looking up. Following Twilight's gaze, she found the design and gave a small little 'Hmmm'. "A design for something I've been meaning to do for a while now. Something always bothered me about the Casull and Alucard."
"What's that then?" Applejack asked.
"I'm not sure. It always seemed like an incomplete unit. Like the Casull just seems lonely in his hand."
"It's a gun Rares. Guns don't get lonely," Applejack pointed out.
"These guns are my children thank you very much!" Rarity snorted indignantly. "And if I say the Casull needs a little sister to keep her company then so be it!"
"Yes ma'am," Applejack squeaked under the glare that Rarity gave her. The other woman smiled slightly before turning to Twilight with a new gun in her hands. It looked like a standard FN SCAR-H but with a longer barrel and a ACOG sight.
"Hellsing ARMS 05132, the Hellsing KSA Ash. Fires standard issues NATO silver bullet rounds. Weighs roughly six kilograms to compensate for the extra firepower. This is not the sort of weapon you would want to be on the receiving end of."
"Rarity I wouldn't like to be at the receiving end of anything you've designed," Twilight said smiling and taking her new weapon. It was smaller than the Bat, and also a lot lighter. It felt unfamiliar and foreign in her hands. It would take some getting used to, Twilight thought glumly, but she had to admit it would be easier to handle than the Bat. She loaded a magazine into the gun and smiled at the click. "Groovy."
The Police had cordoned off the area where Susan had been found. Forensics officers were examining the scene, trying to find some clue as to what had killed her. Though there was a general consensus that Susan had been killed by a wild animal, the Vanhoover police had not ruled out the possibility of murder. Twilight and Applejack looked on as they moved around the scene of the crime, bending over every drop of blood, every piece of viscera. Applejack hung further back from the scene than Twilight, not wanting to get any closer than necessary to the scene that had caused her such distress earlier.
Twilight didn't need to get closer, though her reasons were different. She could see everything clearly from where she was standing. Her vampire eyes showed her all as if she were standing right beside the police officers. Not that she really wanted to get a closer look, but she knew she needed to look if she wanted to find out where the werewolf was.
"Anything?" Applejack asked.
"Not yet," Twilight muttered. "It's one thing knowing a werewolf was here, quite another to find out where it..." She trailed off.
Applejack cocked her head. "You okay in there sugarcube?"
Twilight tilted her head back slightly and took in a deep breath through her nose. "What just happened?" she mumbled.
"You just stopped talking," Applejack replied.
"Not that," Twilight said slowly. "Something changed, something's different." Twilight frowned and brushed her hair back behind her ears. The wind promptly blew it back across her face and Twilight's eyes widened slightly. "The wind," she muttered. "The wind changed that's what."
"And?" Applejack asked.
"Just then, when the wind changed directions I smelt something," Twilight explained, turning to the direction the wind blew from.
"Blood?" Applejack asked nervously. Twilight shook her head.
"No, not blood. That's why I was confused. This isn't something I've smelt before and yet..."
"What?" Applejack sighed. These dramatic pauses were really starting to get on her nerves.
"Something tells me that it isn't normal," Twilight muttered. "Like it's a warning that this isn't something to take lightly. Like it's a defense mechanism, preparing me to fight."
"Werewolf?"
"Most likely."
Applejack pulled the Bitten out of its holster and loaded it. "How far?"
"About two miles in that direction," Twilight said, pointing off into the distance, away from Vanhoover, and far from the nearest road.
"See anything in that direction?" Applejack asked.
In an instant, Twilight's vampire eyes showed her their destination. It looked like an old abandoned cottage, with boarded up windows and a lonely dirt track leading up to its surrounding garden.
"A cottage," Twilight said.
"Then lets go," Applejack said, smiling.
Something tugged at the back of her mind and she let it take her where it would. She found herself in a tree not two miles from where she had been in the instant beforehand. Two young women were walking along the dark hillside, their backs to where she hid in the branches. The uniforms they wore were identical, but one of them was dressed in ocher yellow whilst the other was night black.
Her baby blue eyes widened only a fraction in surprise, before a smile broke out across her lips. She let her tongue caress one of her pointed incisors before she returned to her previous location. The desk was cramped and covered in books and sheets of paper, and there was a laptop near one end displaying complex mathematical formulas. The owner of the desk did not react to her sudden appearance. She doubted if she noticed she had left in the first place.
"I'm ~back~," she sang in a high pitched giggle.
"So I noticed," came the uninterested reply. "What was it this time? Cookies? Chocolate bars? Perhaps you wondered if I wanted some ice cream?"
"You're no fun Doc," she pouted.
The Doctor sighed and looked up at her, removing her brass goggles and stared at her, eyes blazing. "If you don't have something important to say then would you kindly get off of my work!" she growled.
"Fine," she pouted, reaching out with one hand. Her fingers gripped the handle before her feet touched the floor. "I just though you might want to know that two Hellsing soldiers are on their way here. Probably because one of your little pets sneaked out for a midnight snack."
There was a clatter as the Doctor got to her feet, her already pale face even paler now, her teal eyes practically glowing with contempt.
"What?" she snarled. "Hellsing? Hellsing are headed this way!?"
"Righterooni!"
The Doctor bit her finger as she spun on the spot. "Need more time," she mumbled. "We aren't done yet." Her fingers somehow found a way to tangle themselves in her bubblegum pink hair, tugging at the strands in frustration. Stopping suddenly, she whirled on the spot. "Go and prepare Subjects M and N for immediate combat."
"But you said-"
"I don't CARE what I said child! Now do as I say!"
