The First and the Last

The Santa Maria. The Santa Clara. The Pinta. Three ship names known throughout the Western world, now adorn the three spacecraft bound for the first extra-terrestrial colony on the fourth planet of our solar system, Mars. Theirs is the first of its kind; never before has a human spent an extended period of time upon another heavenly body. Fortunately for the crew, they were picked out of hundreds of thousands of applicants from around the globe. Unfortunately for them, this is a one way trip. They go without a return vehicle, never to step foot on the green grass or swim in the blue waters of the place humans call home. But they all have their reasons for going, some for simple exploration, some for glory, and some because they have nothing on Earth for them anymore. Watch in this, and other stories how these nineteen crew members deal with being the first of their kind: space explorers and extra-terrestrial colonists. And see how they handle being the last as well.

(A large collaboration between myself, Issac Pierce, FenrisianBrony, MrManWriter, kildeez, Acheron, Hywther, Regidar, and Dragonessa007. Additional collaborators welcome, although most human slots are taken, views from a pony's, griffin's, dragon's, minotaur's, or zebra's POV are definitely open.
