Where the road ends, and the skies begin
Scootaloo jumped again and again, determined to get this last dash of paint onto a cloud. She was perched precariously on a ladder with her friends helping her, they were setting up for the next school play, it was about the return of nightmare moon. With all of her hard effort scootaloo had been picked to be rainbow dash, she had to go to the little sewingshop near the stage after she was finished with the cloud to get her costume built. It wasn't much, they were building a prop element for her and some other stuff she didn't hear...
As she hopped up and down, getting the last strokes of the paint Into the cloud. Diamond tiara and silver spoon were watching from a distance...
"She is so stupid, she can't even fly!!" Diamond tiara laughed
"I betcha If we threw this rock at her we could get that blank flank to fly..."silver spoon said, motioning towards a rock near them, diamond tiara grinned a devilish grin..." Let's do it..."
Scootaloo relaxed as she set the paint brush down, she had gotten the last of it. "Finally!!" She moaned, she observed her work of art, it looked very beautiful, she had never made a clo-- KLONK scootaloo fell from her Perch on the ladder as the large stone struck her, she fell downward and screamed as she smacked into the ground, paint falling down on her, along with her cloud and the ladder.
She may motionless under the ladder, applebloom and sweetie belle heaved the wreckage off of her, beneath lay scootaloo, winded, severely bruised and bleeding, and soaked in paint, as she stood up her friends rushed to her sides to stabilize her, the shooters of the rock walked up on stage...
"Well well well, looks like she can't fly at all..."silver spoon said
"Why were you even picked to play rainbow dash, you can't even fly you miserable sore excuse for a Pegasus!" DT (diamond tiara shot out
"Oh wait that's right, it's because you know her, ms.cherlee would've picked any other pony, but she chose you, the disabled Pegasus"silver spoon and diamond tiara laughed
Scootaloo stood there and cried, she didn't know what to do any more, she turned and ran away
"No scoot, where are ya goin????!??" Applebloom asked as it began to rain
"To run away to her mommy, that's why..." DT said
"You are the cruelest pony ever, scootaloos parents disappeared on a ship accident 5 years ago, she has no one to run to!!!"sweetie belle yelled
"Good, we can't have anymore disabled Pegasus around here--" this was diamond tiaras last words before she revived a strong bone crushing buck from applebloom, followed by an uppercut by sweetiebelle to silver spoons face
Scootaloo ran through the streets, tears streaming down her filthy coat, fuelled by rage and the pain of her wounds, she spread her winging and attempted to take off, she got a few feet into the air. Before she crashed into the mud... Covered in blood paint and mud, scootaloo crawled into a small alleyway, closed her eyes and began to cry... Awaiting a death that would not come today...
Hours later
A young Pegasus colt by the name of crossfire stepped out of a small building he wore a dark blue coat and trousers, he wore a wedge on his head, he quickly pulled out an umbrella and opened it, he was soon followed by 2 of his friends Michelle, and Baron, in identical uniforms to his... The colts stepped under the shade of his umbrella.
"Well lads, its a mighty fine day for rain ain't it?" Michelle asked
"That it is mich..."baron said
"I'd prefer to be flying today though, bloody miserable weather, always ruining flying practice..."crossfire replied
As they continued down the street they kept talking trading stories, but then crossfire caught something out of the corner of his eye.
"Wait up lads, I think I saw something..." Cross said
"I swear if its another cider cap I'm going to push you into the mud and get your uniform wrecked..." Baron threatened
"No, it's not just wait here... I'll go check.." Cross said, tossing the umbrella to Michelle. Crossfire walked up to an alley, he stopped and listened, he heard crying. He stepped foreword to investigate, a filly jumped out and backed up to the wall...
"I'm sorry!!!" She yelled
"Sorry for what dear?" Crossfire asked
He received a strange look from the filly, but then a look of acceptance
"S-sorry, it's just l-life *sniff* hasn't been going my *sniff* way, at all..." She said tears welling up in her eyes.
"Whoa whoa whoa, ease up, you look like you've been through such, you look like a mess, here come with me miss... Uh?"
"S-scootaloo..." She weakly said
"Alright then, come with me Miss Scootaloo" he said, he took of his tunic and wrapped it around scootaloo, and walked her over to his friends...
"C'mon mate, I had gotten used to all your girlfriends, but c'mon now, this is cradle robbing..." Baron said
"Shut it, she's had a horrible day, the least we could let her do is use the barracks showers and a roof to stay in while its raining..."cross said, scootaloo looked up to him, she sensed only a few years difference I between them, maybe 3 at most...
"Fine fine fine, she can come, but this storm looks like its getting worse, we should go to the barracks... Like right now" Michelle said as he began trotting away from them. Being only a few years older gave them a big size difference, crossfire scooped up scootaloo and let her ride on his back as they ran to the barracks...
The barracks were filled with noise, ponies and warmth as they came through the doors, everyone was dressed somewhat formally, some where in the uniform cross fire was wearing, somewhere wearing a blue shirt and trousers, other just a grey shirt
And many not anything at all...
"Welcome to cadet squadron 28 scootaloo" cross fire said as they left the main hall, they came to a small building that was detached from the others, they walked into the small building, it held 10 bunk beads, side by side along the wall, showers and a washroom where in the back along with a living room/kitchen ish area... Scootaloo jumped off his back and took a shower it lasted several minutes when she finished, all the paint blood and mud were gone, only cuts and bruises remained.
The barracks appeared empty again as she came over to a bunk head with some warm clothes and a plate of food on it...
She was starting to like this "cadets"
