September 1st, first day of the new school year.
"Rarity! Do I have to go?!"
"For the fiftieth time this morning, Yes! Mom and Dad left you here for the next few weeks and made it very clear I get you to school on time."
"But it's so boring!"
"Sweetie Belle, I know it's boring, but ponies who go to school are more likely to get their cutie mark than those who don't"
"Really?! Oh boy! I can't wait to go and get my cutie mark" Sweetie immediately darts out the door forgetting her books and school supplies.
Rarity shouts out the door after her. "Now Sweetie, you're not going to get it today! And you forgot your school things!" After hearing a small squeaking voice that she can't decipher she decides to give up on shouting and just deliver the supplies during lunch.
At the school yard Sweetie runs into her fellow crusaders and tells them the news about going to school and how it gets you your cutie mark faster. The other two members of the cmc respond ecstatically and all three run inside the building and wait for class to start.
"Everypony take your seats, we have a new student joining us this year who is starting public school for the first time in his life" Some ponies start to giggle at the fact that their new classmate was home schooled. “please welcome your newest student, Button Mash!"
A brown earth pony tiredly wobbles into the class and speaks in a very nasally tone. "H-hi everypony... I'm Mutton Bash."
Cheerliee interrupts his introduction. "Your mother told me your name was Button Mash, am I mistaken?"
"Oh wait. Yeah, that was my name, i mean, is my name. Sorry about that I'm just so tired from playing video games all night."
Cheerliee tries to make the best for the young new student, "Well you can take a nap until lunch, but then you have to get up and learn. Why don't you introduce yourself to the class?"
"Okay. Hi everypony, my name is Button Mash, I am eight years old and I like video games, I live with my mom, my dad, and my brother. I don't have a... What's it called, again? Oh right! A cutie mark yet, but I don't care much about that."
When the words "cutie mark" hit the ears of everypony three pairs of ears perked up as three sets of eyes looked at each other in happiness. The crusaders all knew what each other was thinking. "A new cutie mark crusader!" But one filly of the three had thought more than just that. She saw a new "friend" to be made.
Button sat at the desk next to Sweetie Belle he said hello to her in his nasally tone of voice and then took the nap he was privileged to get.
"Alright class, let's start the new school year by writing about what you did over the summer."
A roar of both groans and cheers echoed throughout the classroom. As the class started to write, two ponies didn't follow the directions given. One of the ponies who weren’t doing as told was asleep, and the other, staring at the sleeping colt daydreaming.
Sweetie whispers to herself. "I've never seen a colt be so attractive. I wish he'd just wake up and kiss me"
At the given moment, Button stirred and readjusted his head only to drift back to sleep. After the movement, a certain white unicorn was left with an unwanted shade of red on her cheeks.
"Sweetie Belle!" Cheerliee shouts
Readjusting to reality she realizes where she is. "Y-yes Miss. Cheerliee?"
I've been calling you for five minutes; I wanted you to read what you wrote."
"Oh. I-I didn't bring my supplies today..." She responds in an ashamed tone
After a brief sigh and a face hoof Miss. Cheerliee decides to break for lunch.
The crusaders run off to discuss letting Button into the group. After some serious thought and a few jokes about Sweetie staring at him they decide to let him in.
"Sweetie, you go tell him"
"Why do I have to do it?"
"Because, he's your future coltfriend."
"He is not! I don't even like him."
"Whatever you say." A sarcastic Scootaloo has won the last word, leaving Sweetie to go do her job as she was told to. She approaches the colt who is too distracted to notice her because he is playing his JoyBoy.
"H-hey, B-button."
"Huh." Button paused his game and looks up. "Oh. You're the girl who sits next to me in class, what's your name?"
"I-I'm Sweetie Belle, and I was wondering if you want to... “She looks into his eyes and starts to daydream again. "Go out with me?" After a quick pause she realizes what she said. "I mean! Join the cutie mark crusaders?"
"Did you just ask...? Never mind, tell me about this group that you want me to join.
After an explanation and utter embarrassment Sweetie Belle faced during the conversation, Button decided to join the cmc.
"I'd sure love to join, your club. I just have one more question."
"What is it?"
"Did you ask me to go out with you earlier?"
Her checks changed from white to bright red instantly.
"I-I-I, of course I didn't, not to say that you aren't attractive, you are, I mean you're not, I mean you are! And-"
She is cut off by a kiss on the cheek from Button.
She reacts by simply looking at him in awe.
"You seemed like you needed a stress reliever. There's one for you."
"I-I think I need to relieve more of my stress" she says with a nervous smirk.
Button leans in and gives Sweetie Belle a kiss on the lips. To his surprise he is held there by Sweetie's hooves which have wrapped around his neck. He proceeds to do the same as they stand there on the playground in a passionate kiss.
"Sweetie Belle, I brought your things for you!" Rarity trots over to the playground where she sees her sister in mid make out. "Her first kiss... I don't want to ruin this for her." She smiles and waits pationtly for the two to finish. When they do, they jump down hold hooves and start to walk towards the school.
"Sweetie Belle! I brought you your school supplies."
She feels her younger sister hug her leg. "Thanks for making me come to school today."
She rubs a hood through her sister’s mane. "It's what sisters do." Sweetie Belle then proceeds to hop off, get her supplies, and walk over to her new coltfriend.
"I can tell, this is just the beginning of fun for the two of us."
"Hopefully some of the fun we have will involve video games!"
Sweetie then rolls her eye sarcastically and gives him a kiss on the cheek as they walk into class.
