Chapter 1 "Pain in the flank"
It was Wednesday after noon when all if the sudden, "CRASH!" I ran into my room to find Skyla,my little sister, standing where my computer used to be! I looked down to find my computer,smashed to pieces. When I saw it,I yelled so loud that my father could hear it,and he was all the way down the street,helping one of the neighborhood pegasi with the fencing around his house.
Skyla,pulling the "I'm sorry I didn't mean to" act, said, "I'm sorry. I saw something shiny on the table and I wanted to get it."
I said in fury," Well the only thing shiny on my desk is my pen,which you broke in half!" I started my magic when my father,Shining Armor, came in and grabbed Skyla like she didn't do anything at all!
"Chrisy calm down. I'm sure it was just an accident",said my father. I rolled my eyes and walked into the living room,where my sister Soleil,was watching her favorite show. I went into the kitchen,got me a soda and walked into the living room.
I sat down beside Soleil, took a sip of my soda,and changed the channel. I turned on "The misadventures of Flapjack" and sat there watching the show when my mother,Cadence walked in from work.
I said,"Hey mom. Whats up?"
My mom replied,"Your father called me at work. What happened this time?"
"Nothing. I think Skyla just,um......wanted you home! Ya that's what happened. Skyla just wanted you!" I gave her a cheesy smile and she raised her eyebrow at me,turned around and went down the hallway into my room. I quickly followed her,only to find her standing in front of my computer with her mouth wide open.
She quickly turned around to face me and said,"Skyla wanted me home eh? Chrystalanias tell me the truth. Did you break your computer during a rage quit again?"
I sighed and then replied,"It wasn't a rage quit. Skyla knocked my computer of the desk trying to get to my sparkly pen. I'm telling the truth. And what do you mean by, 'again'?" My mother rolled her eyes,laughed,and then showed me using her magic when I broke my computer during a rage quit. I counted 5 times.
My mom said,"This is the last time I'm buying you a new computer. I believe you but I'm sure it was just an accident. Skyla's only a foal,you know. She doesn't do things on purpose."
I sighed and trotted into the living room,only to find my soda empty! I looked to see if Soleil was still there,which she wasn't. I went to her room,knocked on her door,and heard her say,"Come in."
When I went in her room, I said,"Did you drink my soda? Its OK if you did. But did you?"
She said,"Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. Why do you care anyway? It's just a soda."
I replied,annoyed at what she said,"I don't care! I was just asking if you drank my soda! You know you don't have to be rude about it." I started to see her coat turn black,and sighed,"Not again". Next thing I knew, my sister Soleil had turned into Shadow,her alternate personality that she turns into when she gets mad or annoyed.
Shadow said,"Yes I did drink your soda. And it was DELICIOUS! And if you've got a problem with it,just deal with it." I shot a magic blast at her,pinning her to the ground. My father heard the blast,sighed,and walked into Soleil's room,only to find me about to punch her. He quickly broke up the fight,turned to Shadow,and helped her calm down. I started to see her coat turn back into its regular color,and sighed with happiness..

Chapter 2 "New Hair,New Tail,New Style"
"New Hair,New Tail,New Style"
It was now 7:00 A.M in the Chrystal Empire. I saw a sudden snowflake fall. Then another,and another,and soon I found myself in a blizzard. I heard an alarm clock go off and then saw the blizzard disappear. I awoke from my dream,only to be freezing cold. I got out of my bed and went to my mirror,only to find snowflakes all around my head. I also noticed that something was off about my hair. It was like my great-aunts Celestia and Luna's mane. It was ice blue,a little darker then my coat,and had snowflakes falling from it. I screamed,galloped into my parent's room,and woke up my father.
"Chrisy? Is that you? Why did you wake me up so early...",He said with a yawn.
I replied panicky,"Dad whats up with my hair? It looks like Auntie Celestia and Aunt Luna's hair!"
He said,sounding like he didn't really care,"Go ask your mother..." He then covered up his head, went back to sleep,and started to snore.
I rolled my eyes,and went to my mom. This time I got a better answer.
My mother said,"Chrisy! You're finally growing up! An elemental alicorn's hair turns like that whenever they get to a certain age. It also means they are getting close to their cutiemark!" I could feel my heart beat calm down,and I sighed with relief. I trotted into my room and got ready for school. "How will everypony think of my new hair? I wonder if they will treat me differently," I thought. I walked over to my closet,and looked for my shoes. When I didn't see them,I sighed and walked across the hall,and into Soleil's room. I went to her closet,only barely making a sound,and opened it. I looked where her shoes where,and I saw mine. I picked them up with my magic,that's aura was the color of Twilight Sparkle's,and went back into my room.
Once into my room,I put on my shoes,my crown,and my necklace. I looked at myself in my body mirror,and thought,"It feels like it needs...more. Maybe a scarf? No,not a scarf. It's the middle of Spring. Ugh! I'll figure it out tomorrow." I trotted into the kitchen,made me and Soleil oatmeal, and started to eat. Not long after I started eating,Soleil walked into the kitchen and just stared at me.
I turned to her and said,"What? Why are you staring at me?"
I must have forgotten about my hair,until my sister replied," Sis,What's up with your hair? And why does it have snowflakes everywhere?"
I quickly replied,"Oh,my mane. I have no idea. Mom says it means I'm getting close to getting my cutiemark though!" I gave her a cheesy smile. I finished eating my oatmeal and ran out the front door,and started flying to my school.
I had never been late before, but today,a Thursday,I was late. My social studies teacher,Ms.Sink,said,"Chrystalanias,your late. That's a first. I'll let it slide since it was your first time." I nodded and walked over to my seat,only to find a trail of snowflakes behind me. I quickly used my magic to get rid of it. Everypony around my seat stared at my mane every chance they got. I just continued working and when the 2nd period bell rang,I hurried to Ms.Sparkle's class room. When I came in,I was greeted by Twilight.
She said,"Hi Chrisy! How's it going? I love what you did to your mane!" She trotted to her desk,without giving me time to answer her, and took roll. 5 hours pasted like a blur,and I was the first one out the front doors,and flew home.
When I got home I saw the my sister,Skyla,who was home early from daycare, pouring some juice into a cup,spilling almost the whole thing. I quickly helped her and walked into my room and got on my laptop,which had all my games on it. The one that was smashed,my desktop computer,was for social networking. Since I had no homework,I put on my headset and got on Minecraft. After 3 hours of that I got off and tried to figure out what my talent was going to be. I found out that most ponies' cutiemarks have something in common with what their talents are. I started think of what my cutie mark was. I kept thinking of the first part of my name,Chrystal,and and what my mane kept leaving a trail of,snow, so I figured it was making snow crystals. I heard a knock on my door and saw my father,Shining Armor,walk in. He looked surprised when he saw my mane.
He said,"When did this happen? Why didn't you tell me about this?"
I rolled my eyes,laughed,then said,"Dad that's what I was trying to tell you this morning. You seemed not to care so I talked to mom about it."
He looked embarrassed,blushed,and then said,"I guess I should go talk to your mother. I think after I do I'm gonna take a bath. A nice long bath."
