I look around the room. I can't believe Discord had gotten to all these ponies. Next time I saw him, I would... Then I see one pony in particular. "Derpy?" I whisper, shocked. There were tears flowing from her usually bright, sunny, yellow eyes. "Derpy, what's wrong?" I ask, walking up to her. She looks up to me, tears in her eyes. "I knew I was different," she says, "but I didn't care. I thought ponies loved me for who I was, and laughed with me. But Discord told me the truth. He showed me the real world, the one where people laugh at me, and hate me for who I am." Her eyes fill with sadness. "All I did was show myself to the real world, but instead of appreciating me, they kicked me out of their world and made fun of me." She sighs. "I just don't know what went wrong."

Suddenly, the world disappears, and all I see is Derpy in the middle of a dark room, with a spotlight on her. "I don't want this," she says. "Please, don't let him change me... Please....save me."

Then everything comes back, and Twilight is staring at me worriedly. "Are you okay, Serenity?" she asks. "You went out of it for a second." I nod. "I can't let Discord change Derpy," I say to Twilight, and she nods. "Derpy," I say, turning to her. She looks up. "I know I am just one pony, but I know you made a difference in my life. You are a ray of sunshine in this world. Whenever I was down, I would look for you, and I would instantly brighten up. I don't care if you're Ditzy Doo or Derpy Hooves, if you're extraordinarily smart or below average, I don't care where you are, what you are, or what you do, I can see who you are inside. And that is one of the friendliest ponies I know, and I'm glad to have you as my friend." Twilight nods. "When I first moved to Ponyville, I wasn't sure I wanted to meet new ponies. But you were one of the first ponies I made friends with, after meeting the rest of the Elements of Harmony. You helped show me around, and meet lots new ponies that I have made everlasting bonds with. You're rare in this world, Derpy." Derpy smiles, and the color returns to her. "Thank you," she says. "If the world showed more love to ponies like me like you two did, the world would be a better place.
