It was a lovely morning, relaxing & peaceful. Octavia lay comfortable in her bed with the sunlight beam nicely on her skin. She wasn't much of a morning person. She couldn't remember why she thought she hate mornings on somedays, but that really not now. She got more comfortablely in her bed, ready to rest again. The apartment was silence & peaceful.
Then from out of the blue, a big soundwave blast made Octavia fly from her bed to her carpet. Her legs hang from her bed as she lay on her back while she stare up at the ceiling. She was a terrible headaches from her ears getting continuely pounded by that dethpicable dishwasher. (Octavia) "A thousand times I told her, no a billion times I told her! To get rid of that abomination." She stood up, put on her bathrode, & march to the kitchen. When she arrive, there she saw Vinyl. She was standing over the dishwasher, as her head bop to her "wubs". She was wearing her neon blue boyshort with a white tube top & her "Kiss the DJ" apron. She wondering what kind of wife washes dishes with wubs, her does appearly.
Vinyl just notice Octavia, standing at the doorway giving her a monsterous stare. (Vinyl) "Morning beauitful, you look like you had an amazing sleep." A grim smile came upon her face as she said those words. (Octavia) "I'm going to kill you." (Vinyl) "Aww Tavi, you say the sweetest things. Beside, I made scrambled eggs & coffee." Octavia couldn't stay mad at her forever. They had been married for five years straight.
They known each other since they were five. They been best friend since kindergarden, mostly be around each other. They both have an interest in music, but in different taste. Octavia like classical elegance music, while Vinyl prefer loud fist pumping wubs. This cause them to have one of their continueous debate on which one is better, but they still were best friends. They trust & have a deep understanding of each other then anyone else. Octavia can always remember how Vinyl can alway been there for her in her time of need & how she alway knows how to make her smile, that's what made her fall in love with her.
As Vinyl was cooking some bacon up, Octavia watch her in a deep stare. She was remembering that one night at their highschool prom. Octavia went there with one of the football player, while Vinyl stay home become she said the event was "completely lame". We had a nice time at the prom & he drive me home, but things took a turn to the worst. As we sat in the car, he started to get a bit touchy & graby. I wasn't comfortable with doing any of this, so I told him to stop. He didn't take no as an answer & kept forcing himself on me. I didn't want him to touch me as he grab me firmly that his grip was starting to hurt me. I was now screaming for him to stop as he trying to take my clothes off, but then I heard the door open as someone grab him out of the car. I saw Vinyl beating him up in a fit of rage. I ran out if the car, close behing her.
(Vinyl) "If you ever try to touch her again, I'll break or arm! Now get lose you punk!" He ran back into his car & drove off. I was so scared & cold, what he would had done to me if Vinyl wasn't there. The next thing I knew, Vinyl cover me with her jacket. (Vinyl) "You lived pretty cold. How about I take you home." They arrive to her home & came into her room. Vinyl held her & rub her head softly. Octavia felt safe & calm with her. Her body felt warm againt Vinyl's. (Vinyl) "Tavi, I should had been with you instead of that creep." (Octavia) "Then why didn't you come & don't say because the prom was lame because I know it was something else."
Vinyl took her time to answer her question as seeing the words were hard for her to tell. (Vinyl) "Octavia, I was a bit jealous because you was going to the prom with someone else. I been having these unsure feeling about you. I kind like you, not in a friend or sister way. I like you more than that. I love you." Octavia felt more warmer now like her body was burning up. She could feel her heart pounding hard against her chest. (Vinyl) "I wasn't sure if you feel the same.........." She was stop by Octavia when she kiss her. Vinyl held on to her more tightly than before, letting this new sensation fill her whole body.
(Octavia) "Vinyl, I always felt this way about you. I didn't know if these feeling was right or wrong for me to have. I came it from you because I was afraid. I was afraid that if I told you about my feeling for you that you would think differently about me & would leave me." When she start to think how Vinyl would stop being her friend, tears begin to form in her eyes & she a sharp pain in her stomach. She buried her head on Vinyl chest & held her tight, not wanting to ever lose the person that was so deep to her. Vinyl rub her head soft, thinking of that same feeling. (Vinyl) "Tavi, you know that I'll never leave. I love you too much for that to ever happen. You are the other half of me." (Octavia) "Promise me then, promise me that you will alway be with me forever." (Vinyl) "I promise Octavia, I will always be with you forever." They both seal that promise with them in each other's arms & with a kiss. From that night on, they been together ever since. Keeping each other promise, never forgetting.
(Vinyl) "Hey Tavi. Taaavvviiaa, are you wake?" She fade back into reality, only to notice that Vinyl had a plate of bacon in front of her face. (Vinyl) "Like I was saying , doing you want any bacon? What's with you?" She took two bacon strips & drink a sip of her coffee before she respond. (Octavia) "It was nothing. I was just remembering something."
Just as the two finish, Octavia went into the bathroom & took a shower. The hot steaming water relax her from the incident that morning with that dishwasher. After she was done, she put on her grey bathrobe & went to the livingroom. There she saw Vinyl on the couch, changing the channels. She stop on a channel that was about to show a music video. The scene start off in a nightclub, with a lot of people dancing around around & pumping their fists in the air. Then two people appear from the turntable & beginning scratching the records together. She knew all to well who they were, Neon Lights & her Vinyl Scratch.
Octavia still didn't understand how anybody could like "wubs". It sound like someone on acids if you ask her, but this generation was crazy for it. She went into their bedroom & lay her clothes on the bed. Her usual outfit, white short sleeve dress shirt, grey vest, grey skirt, grey suit, black leggings, & lastly her pink bowtie. Classy, formal, & fantastique was her style. She went over to the balcony & got her cello. It's fine work & lovely design, glittering in the sunlight. She place it in her case & was on her way to the door.
(Octavia) "I'm off to work now. I'll be back at 7." She still saw that Vinyl was watching tv in her underwear. (Octavia) "Ain't you suppose to be shooting a music video today with Pinkie Pie?" Vinyl then bend her head back on the couch, looking at Octavia upside down. (Vinyl) "That's not till 7:45. I have time to kill. I'm going to chill with Rainbow & Raity, then grab a bite with Neon, Spike, Lyra, & BonBon. Just a tropical day, Tavi." (Octavia) "Well, I'll see you later." (Vinyl) "See ya, babe." Octavia took the elevator down to the main lobby & walk to the parking lot. She put her cello in the backseat, start the car, & drive off.
There was no traffic today, lucky for her. The stereo was playing Claude Debussy's "Clair De Luna". She loved this music, it was one of the music that her father used to played for her when she was little. Her father alway played her lovely music, they were so beautiful & full with all his emotions. He trainned her everyday in learning & understanding music itself. He had such knowledge in music that it just amaze her. She wanted to be just like her father, have her soul play in her cello just like how her father played. If only he was still here now.
She park in the parking garage & took the elevator up to the main floor. She went into the studio where her fellow associate were practicing on their violets, clarinets, double basses, oboes, trumpets, french horns, harps, tuba, timpani, cymbals, bass drums, viola, & snare drums. She said at her spot & open her case. The conductor appear as the light dim. The whole room was silence only with the sound of breathing & low whispers.
She then rise her hands on the violin section as they end the silence, follow by the bass & precussion. She brought in the woodwinds & harps, lowing the bass. Octavia part was about to come any second now, bow to strings ready. As she single the other instrument to a low volume, she signal in the violas & cellos for their solo. Octavia's hand more like they had a mind of their own, making all the right moves. They more fast, but steady like her father's. She remember what he alway told her, "Yes Octavia, let your heart & soul guide your fingers. Listen to each strings, hold that feeling in. That's my girl." She ended it with one last slash on her string. She could feel that feeling growing in her, filling her with warmth & peace.
Soon it was her lunch break & she decide to get a chicken wrap from Haystand. After getting her order, she walk her way to the park. Along her way their, she notice the huge library. The Golden Oak Library, the biggest library & the only library in town. She wonder if Twilight wouldn't mind join her at the park for lunch. When she went in, the place was a bit silence. She some a little people walking around, reading, & chating a bit. Even though the place was huge, she knew where to find Twilight.
She walk up to the third floor & to the section label Science & Mathematic. There she saw her friend sitting cross leg on the ground, surround in her fortress of books. (Octavia) "My, you do love your books. What are you reading now?" She look up at from her book & straighting her glasses before responding to her. (Twilight) "Hi there Octavia, I was just almost finish reading my book of Physics. Hope you don't mind the mess I have here. So, how are you?" (Octavia) "I been fine these days. I just finish my session & was on my luch break. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind joinning me." (Twilight) "Sure, I got free time. Can you help me place these books back on their selves." They put the books back on their selves & went to the park.
They sat at a bench near the fountain. Octavia like chating with Twilight. She like having their intelligent talks of music, their work, & their lives. (Octavia) "So, how you & Flash been?" (Twilight) "It's been alright. Flash & his band will be going on tour next week to Crystal City for a month. He won't be around for a while. I'm going to miss him a bit, though." Octavia could see that her face was frowning a bit & how she was tighting her grip to her book. (Octavia) "Yea, but once he get back home, he's probably going to give you lots of attention for all those days he was gone." Twilight face begin to redden up as she said that & try to hide it behind her book. (Twilight) "Then, I'll be pregnant in the middle of the month." They both laughed at the idea of that happening.
They both relax on the bench & watch the view of the park. They watch as they saw everybody walking, talking, playing, or having a pinic on the grass. Some of the faces were their friends. Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, & Sweetie Belle were trying to get a badge by helping Granny Smith cross the street. Even though she wasn't going to the other side. Spitfire & Soarin was walking together through the park. She was hugging on his arm as they were walking. They were probably on a date. As they were watching everybody, they were greet by two people pushing a baby stroller toward them.
(Mr. Cake) "Hi there Octavia & Twilight." (Mrs. Cake) "It's lovely to see both of you girls here. What you two been up to?" They told them of their day & chat with them a bit. Pound & Pumpkin were sleeping peacefully in the stroller as they chat. (Mrs. Cake) "Oh, it's time to feed the twins. Octavia, do you mind helping me feeding them?" She was very eager on doing so, but she couldn't say no to her. (Octavia) "Sure, I wouldn't mind." (Mrs. Cake) "Oh thank you sweetie. Here, you can feed Pound." She lift him from the stroller & gently place him in Octavia arms.
Octavia wasn't much of a children person. She didn't know how to handle kids, which made her a bit nervous around them. But this time it was different. Pound was just resting in her arms, so peacefully and gentle. His small infant body gave off such a warm vibe. The sunlight touch his face lightly as he was just waking up. As his eyes open, she saw his big light hazel eyes. Octavia seem pictures of babies before, but to be this close to one was amazing. He look so cute & innocent, even when he yawn softly it was just beautiful. She felt mix feeling of excitement, joy, & pure happiness. Mrs. Cake handed her his bottle & she fed him, as he gladly suck the tip.
Mr. & Mrs. Cake left after 30 minute or so, after saying their goodbye. Octavia watch the twins playing around in their stroller as the Cake were walking away. She stare at them, still having that warm feeling inside of her stomach. Twilight notice her staring, but break the silence. (Twilight) "It look like you had a good time with Pound. You probably wish that he was your son." She had a grim look on her face as she said that. Octavia face redden a bit from that & try to make a straight face. (Octavia) "Don't be silly. Me, with a baby. That's absurd. Beside, I already have one loud childish person at home." Twilight saw how she was reacting to this idea, now she was going have much fun with this. (Twilight) "You sure about? When you were holding Pound, you looked like you absolutely fell in love with him." (Octavia) "Well, he was pretty adorable." (Twilight) "I bet you & Vinyl would make lovely mothers too. Can't you imagine that, you & Vinyl play with your child together."
Octavia couldn't help but imagine that happen. Her & Vinyl, holding their lovely baby, feeding it, getting it a bath, playing with it, & putting it to sleep. They would be a happy family. She was in a family daydream trance, face all red & eye staring blankly at the sky. (Twilight) "Oh Octavia, are you alright?" She snap out of her daydream & realize that her face was all red. She quickly stood up from the bench. (Octavia) "I think it's time for me to go home. I'll see you later now. Goodbye Twilight." She walk fast right out of the park, still having that embarrassing looking on her face. Twilight was alone on the bench with a confuse express. (Twilight) "Well, that was interesting."
