The Pet Play Date.... Cancelled
'Okay so here I am in my nice, warm and cozy bed awake thinking about what today could bring. Maybe I should get out of bed, alright here we go, that's better I'm outta bed. Much better, alright so I don't know what to do. At the moment I'm just standing here gazing at nothing really. My tail is just swaying left to right then back again to awesome party beats that I am imagining as my eyes are blinking randomly. Hopefully today is more eventful than my other days.'
"Gummy, my chummy why are you always awake earlier than me? You know you can sleep in if you like, silly billy." chirped a certain poofy, cotton candy pink maned, pink mare who woke up ready for an adventure. She jumped out of bed with such enthusiasm and landed on her hooves perfectly without missing a beat. She bounced around to the end of her hot pink with multi-coloured balloon quilted, teddy decorated, perfectly made bed and found Gummy staring at nothing but Pinkie knew there were gears turning in his head.
'Yes, I am Gummy the toothless, light green, baby alligator owned by the coolest, happiest, party throwing mare in all of Equestria. She always listens to me even if I don't talk and that's because I think she can read my mind but it doesn't phase me in the slightest.' Gummy thought as he turned around to face his owner, Pinkie Pie.
"Gummy, my chummy, guess what? Guess what? We have a pet play date to go to today, isn't that exciting huh, huh, huh? It's going to be craaazy fun." Pinkie bounced around happily.
'So this day is going to be eventful after all and this is exciting but something is telling me today is going to be a strange one.' Gummy thought as his tail swayed from side to side lazily.
"Is it going to be fun, the strangeness i mean, oh i sure hope it is, we'll have a big adventure and partay afterwards." Pinkie said excitedly as she picked up Gummy gently and rested him on her back then proceeded to trot out of her room.
As Pinkie bounced down the stairs, landing on each one without missing a beat. As soon as her back legs felt the last step she launched herself off of it just as Mrs Cake was coming out of the kitchen with another batch of choc-peppermint cupcakes, still steaming from the vacation in the oven.
"No, no, no, what are doing Pinkie? Mrs Cake gasped in pure shock.
Defying gravity like she usually does, Pinkie stopped in midair as if someone had pressed pause on her. Dropping to the ground without so much as making a noise with an innocent grin plastering her face. "Nothing at all Mrs Cake"
Mrs Cake frowned at her disbelievingly as she started to put the mouth watering cupcakes on display. "I certainly hope not because I wouldn't want anything broken."
Pinkie looked at the ground in guilt as her left front hoof starting tapping at the floor softly with her mane and tail deflating a little. "I'm sorry Mrs Cupcake, I was so excited to go out to this pet play date that i forgot where I was for a moment."
Mrs Cake finished putting the rest of the delicious cupcakes on display then trotted over to and causing Pinkie to look at her with guilt filled eyes. "It's okay Pinkie, you can have fun here. Just not all the time, okay? Mrs Cake said reassuringly as she gently pulled the pink mare into a comforting hug with Pinkie returning it for a couple of minutes before both mares let go and the bubbly pink mare back to normal.
"Oki doki loki Mrs Cake, I Pinkie promise" Pinkie happily said as she began to bounce towards the outside of the door to Sugar Cube Corner then she stopped. "I love you Cakes so much, you always are amazingly,wonderfully awesome to me." she added.
Mrs Cake was getting emotional at how amazing Pinkie is. "We all love you too Pinkie" she called out as Pinkie's fur and mane connected with the light of the sun. Pinkie turned around and waved eagerly while Mrs Cake beamed while waving back.
The light of the sun hit Pinkie with such warmth that spread throughout her whole body causing her to bounce up in the air with such delight. "Oh I wanna really absolutely see if I can beat the others to the super duper fun play date area, it'll be so much fun if I do" she said as she took off like a speeding bullet through Ponyville.
Within minutes Pinkie arrived at her destination with Gummy holding on to her tail with no teeth, not phased by the fact that the pink party mare was bouncing at the speed of a sonic rainboom. The area was a healthy green grassed meadow with a fully flourished, dark green leafed, big tree for the source of shade but something was off about that tree. On a thick big branch slept the cyan blue, rainbow maned pegasus named Rainbow Dash.
"Hiya Dashie" Pinkie called out in her usual happy tone.
After hearing the greeting from the pink mare, Rainbow shot up out of her sleep faster than she had ever flown before causing her to fall off the branch and plummet to the ground with a loud thud. After her eyes had stopped spinning around in her sockets from the collision with the ground, she collected herself and stood up looking at Pinkie.
"Hey Pinkie.The play date has been cancelled for the pets today, sorry." Rainbow sighed.
"What? Why? Oh tell me, tell me, tell me. Gummy was so looking forward to spend time with his friends." pouted Pinkie.
"Alright Pinkie, I'll tell you. Granny Smith is dancing down at Sweet Apple Acres." Rainbow responded.
Pinkie raised her right eyebrow in confusion "What do you mean by dancing? Granny also needs a walking aid Dashie."
"I know Granny needs a walking aid Pinkie but I saw Granny dancing. Doing the moonwalk, break dancing, you know the real hardcore dancing. She doesn't even need her walking aid, no one knows how or why it happened." Rainbow explained.
"Oh wow Dashie, I wanna see it, yes indeediely, it'll be such much fun to dance with Granny Smith, totally old school, should I tell Vinyl about this. She'll have to bring out her bass cannon so we can PARTAY Granny style." Pinkie chirped enthusiastically while bouncing up and down extremely fast.
"Ugh, Pinkie Pie, this is an urgent matter. We need to see how this happened so we can find a solution." Rainbow sighed face hoofing herself.
"Don't worry Dashie i have all this sorted out." Pinkie announced as she pulled out her bubble pipe, put it in her mouth and pulled out her hat that is part of her Sherlock cosplay out of her mane. Then pulled out a top hat and placed it on Gummy's head.
Rainbow looked at her completely confused "Pinkie, what the hay are you doing?"
"Dashie, this calls for extreme measures Pinkie Holmes style. I'm going to investigate this." Pinkie said seriously. "Now time to go to the scene of the crime." she said as she bounced off towards the scene of this bizarre crime, Sweet Apple Acres leaving an absolutely confused Rainbow Dash behind.
'So I take it that I'm Dr. Gummy Watson' thought the little green alligator as his eyes blinked, one after the other.
"Yes Indeediely." Pinkie chirped after taking an exhale of her bubble pipe.
