//-------------------------------------------------------// A Derpy Hooves Story -by xaroquan- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Outcast among Outcasts //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 1: Outcast among Outcasts It was a dark day in Cloudsdale for a particular pegasi. She was always sad because everypony resented her. They treated her like she was a disease. Nopony would ever spend any time to talk to her. All but two, one to be mentioned, was the Element of Loyalty, Rainbow Dash. Even other outcasts didn't talk to her, making her what she considered herself made her an outcast among outcasts. Sometimes she thought maybe it would be better if she was gone. But she wasn't there yet. She wasn't one to give up easily. The thing that made her the saddest was their talk about her eyes. She had been in an accident as a young foal, permanently damaging her eyes. She was referred to as 'Derpy' after the incident. The incident had left her with amnesia, and everyone with her had died. She was the lone survivor, so in turn, there was nopony to help her remember her real name. Derpy one day left Cloudsdale to visit the small town very close to her home, the town was named Ponyville. After she had stayed in Ponyville for a week, she thought about how she had constantly been mocked about her eyes which apparently had a hinderance for her name which appeared to be named Derpy because her eyes were in a 'Derped' State. She looked up a definition of Derped and found it. Derped: When one's eyes are in a state of opposite. One eye looking up and on one side, while the other was looking down on the opposite side. Derpy after being there for some time knew she'd have to get a job. She had a foal with her now deceased husband, who's name is not known at this time. Her foal's name was Dinky. Dinky looked like derpy but she did not have 'Derped' eyes. Dinky often wondered why her mom had such eyes, but she thought of it as her mom having a special gift and being special, unlike others who constantly referred to her mom as a 'outcast, freak, monster, disease, and other harsh things.' One day when Dinky got home from her new school in ponyville, she found a note that was from her mom. It's words made Dinky collapse crying. From Derpy: I've had a terrible life. I don't belong here. Nopony can accept me for who I am, they only see the outside of me. Nopony cares about my feelings. They just resent me and call me a freak. Now they don't have to anymore. Even the Wonderbolts never had anything positive to say about me. I had Rainbow Dash and the Wondebolts Captain Spitfire, but The only real friend I ever had was a Muscular white stallion some referred to as Roid Rage, others referred to him as Snowflake, or YEAH! Pony. He was an outcast just like me, but unlike me, like his physical form, his mental toughness was like chiseled stone. Nothing ever bothered him. If you are reading this Dinky, don't bother coming to get me, im already gone. Love, Derpy Dinky was crying non-stop. Her mom was dead. (is what she thought) Derpy was on the highest cloud in the sky at the moment. She jumped off crying. The last thing she remembered before she hit the 'ground' was, eating a muffin, her young foal Dinky, and Snowflake. The only three things she considered important in her now 'non-existant' life. ==1 Week Later== //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Life Is Not Over //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 2: Life Is Not Over ==1 Week Later== Derpy opened her eyes. She was shocked, she thought the fall would kill her. She thought, Why am I not dead? I fell off the highest cloud in the sky. It was only then she realized that the clouds hadn't been particularly high that day. She then thought however, There is a reason I'm still alive. I wouldn't be here if there wasn't something to live here for. Just then the door opened, a nurse and a small foal walked in. Derpy immediately realized who it was. "Dinky?", Derpy asked. Dinky just ran up and hugged her mom. The nurse had to pull Dinky off of her mother. The nurse then revealed bad news. The Nurse said, "I'm sorry Mrs. Hooves but unfortunately we are letting you from the hospital." Derpy had a shocked look on her face. She then said, "Why? Am I really that much of an outcast, that not even the hospital is willing to save me?" The nurse stuttered. "I--i--i W-ee--lllll--lll...." Derpy snapped, yelling, "TELL THE TRUTH!!!!" The nurse asked Dinky who was now crying to leave the room, The nurse had to call security to escort Dinky out of the room. The nurse stated, "Its not my say, I want you to stay and receive medical care." She then continued, and said with tears in her eyes, "The hospital said they just don't see the point in saving a pony who obviously is worthless." Derpy's eyes immediately filled up with tears. She stated weakly, "I see... how long?" The nurse looked confused. She then realized Derpy meant how long until she was gone for good. The nurse reluctantly stated, "2 days." Derpy let out a sigh, and closed her eyes. She said, "just get it over with." The nurse had a team come in and they let Derpy out of the hospital. Derpy told Dinky all about it. ==2 Days Later== Derpy was on the verge of death, she said to Dinky in what she knew was going to be her final words: "Be strong, Dinky. I'll always love you." Her eyes then closed. ==3 weeks later== Derpy wakes up to her complete shock. She was inside of what looked like a tree house. She looked over and saw a lavender unicorn. The unicorn suddenly jumped as if she knew Derpy was looking at her. She turned around seeing Derpy and said, "Oh, you're awake, that's terrific, I had heard your daughter crying, so I went in and saw that you had passed, but I thought there was still a chance to save you, also I can't believe that the hospital would do such a terrible thing, I simply cannot understand why they would call somepony like you worthless, because personally, I think your eyes mean your special, not worthless, and that's why I have brought you here.", the lavender unicorn said, finally finishing her long statement. Derpy, blinked and thought, Nopony has ever said my eyes were this way cause I'm special other than my daughter Dinky. The lavender unicorn then stated her name saying, "I am Twilight Sparkle, the number 1 student of the Princess of the Sun, Princess Celestia." Derpy was in shock, she thought Why would anypony want to save a worthless pony like me, especially a pony who is the star pupil of the ruler of Equestria. She felt happiness in the fact a pony like this would care for her. Derpy then said: "Twilight Sparkle is your name?" Twilight replied saying yes. "Wow. You have a... beautiful name Twilight, Derpy said turning her head, blushing. Twilight chuckled. "Oh that's sweet Derpy, and hey don't worry about the fact I know your name, as your daughter told me your name when I told her that I would try and save you." Derpy suddenly got a burst of strength, and stood up no problem, which caused Twilight's jaw to drop in total shock. Twilight then said, "I need to run some tests on you Derpy, is that ok?" "I don't mind at all Twilight", Derpy replied. Twilight smiled. "Great", she said. It was a process of about 3 hours but Twilight when she was done that Derpy had miraculously made a nearly instant recovery. It was then Derpy began to turn a bright shade of red thinking to herself I feel strange being around this pony, similar to the feeling to when im around Dinky. Derpy said, Do you have any good books? (forgetting that they were in a giant treehouse library.) Twilight simply pointed around the entire room. Derpy looked in awe. She was a huge bookworm. "I ABSOLUTELY LOVE BOOKS!",Derpy said, not realizing she said this out loud, because she intended it to be in her thoughts was suprised when twilight replied. "You love books? Derpy looked at twilight and blushed realizing she had said her last statement out loud, pretty much yelling it. "Yeah, do you?", asked Derpy. Twilight pulled a random book off one of her shelves and brought in front of her to begin reading it. She was interrupted when Derpy asked, "Hey Twilight, can I read with you", while blushing slightly to the point Twilight didn't notice it this time. Twilight smiled and said, "Of course Derpy." END Chapter 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: How it Began, Part 1 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 4: How it Began, Part 1 Note: This doesn't include what happened to Derpy to cause her eyes to 'Derp' as she is supposed to have amnesia towards that. This is to explain the events that happened to Derpy in between the other chapters and also we explore the thoughts of Dinky as well as more insight on the hospital issue. (Dinky's thoughts and the hospital and others will be in part 2.) Enjoy! Derpy's arrival at Ponyville was what she hoped to be the start of a new life. She could remember how the wonderbolts ridiculed her and Rainbow Dash didn't show the most heartwarming feelings. ==FLASHBACK== "Are you kidding me Derpy? You can't be a Wonderbolt, you can't do anything that involves flying. You are completely incompetent and are utterly useless." ,said Spitfire. Derpy replied hesitantly saying, "I never asked to be a Wonderbolt and I can still fly. Cloudsdale is the only place I can call home." Spitfire with a smirk said, "Well not anymore, the Wonderbolts and some higher power of Cloudsdale got together, the decision? You're being kicked out of Cloudsdale. FOREVER." Derpy cried. ==10 Minutes Later== "Dinky, I need to talk to you", Derpy said, still tears filling in her eyes. "Yes mommy?" , Dinky Replied. Derpy bust in to tears while saying her next statement leading in a lot of stuttering, saying, "W-w---e---e a---r---e b--e--in----g kic----k---ed ou---t of Cl-ou----ds---dale f---or---ev---er....." Dinky immediately began wailing. There was a knock on the door. Derpy and Dinky both refused to answer. The door was knocked down. Spitfire was standing in the doorway. She began reading a message, or rather a 'goodbye' notice. "Dear Derpy Hooves, We are officially sending you this notice to officially revoke your living quarters in Cloudsdale, when this message is done being read, you will move, IMMEDIATELY. The vote to kick you out was unanimous. We had a vote of 90/0 to kick you out. 90 agreed. 0 disagreed. This is happening because many ponies including Rainbow Dash, have constantly complained about your lack of ability, your terrible flying skills, your complete disdain for conduct, your reckless behavior, and the fact you shouldn't be flying with your 'condition'. You are now sentenced to not only being kicked out from Cloudsdale, the term kicked out forever wasn't harsh enough. You are being banished from Cloudsdale. If you ever set foot in the Cloudy City again, there will be dire consequences. We also do not believe you have a right to be a mother. We are taking your foal from you. You are a menace to Cloudsdale. You must come to court right outside of Cloudsdale to hand your foal, Dinky Hooves, over to us. If you do not comply, you will be thrown in prison. Sincerely, The Government of Cloudsdale. Derpy cried to no end. She turned to talk to Dinky who wasn't there She then turned back around quick enough to see Dinky buried underneath her wings. She couldn't believe what was happening to her. She just wanted to die. 40 minutes later she arrived at the court. Among the crowd were a few members of the wonderbolts, most notably the captain Spitfire, Soarin and Fleet-foot. Rainbow Dash, Thunderlane and the pony nicknamed 'Roid Rage' were also there. She began to tear up, knowing she was about to lose everything. End Part 1 of this Flashback. //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: How it Began, Part 2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 5: How it Began, Part 2 Derpy was crying as she knew she'd lose everything. While having her flashback she decided to go back even further to explain some of the events. =FLASHBACK FURTHER= It was a terrible day. Derpy was minding her own business when she got a letter concering 'reckless behavior' Upon reading the note she decided to go talk to her friend Roid Rage. ==10 Minutes Later== "Hey RR." ,Derpy said to Roid Rage (she nicknamed him RR because he hated being called Roid Rage) "HELLO.", Rage Shouted. "Ow, my ears RR", replied Derpy. RR hung his head down. "Sorry Derpy, im still getting used to having normal conversations with anypony.", Rage Calmly stated. Just as Derpy was about to reply a blue blur flew and landed right next to Roid Rage. "Beat it Hercules", the mare said mockingly. Rage simply complied and left. He was built for strength, however he was not a great fighter, and also not very good with confrontation despite his enormous size. "So I hope you know that letter was because of me, Derpy.", the blue pegasus mare said. "But why Rainbow Dash?", Derpy asked. Rainbow Dash simply said, "Look im not going to be a douchenozzle about this. I just think you should not be flying. You just cause to much destruction. I don't think it but almost everypony I talk to swears they think that we are being attacked by Discord" Before Derpy could reply Rainbow Dash started talking again. "Look I was reluctant to, but eventually the request was getting annoying. I had to tell the Cloudsdale Government about the ruckus. I'm sorry Derpy, don't think we are friends though because we aren't. I just wanted the annoyance to stop. That said, I do have concerns of what the government may do. Anyways, I gotta dash, see ya." Once again before Derpy could reply, Rainbow Dash flew off quickly. ==2 hours later== Derpy was at home with her daughter Dinky. The young foal was pretty much the only thing that Derpy had to cherish in her life. She had nothing else. Dinky simply treated Derpy as any filly would, and then some. There was a knock on the door. Derpy answered it, and somepony unexpected was standing in the doorway. It wasn't just ANYPONY. It was captain of the wonderbolts, Spitfire. Derpy's jaw just hung open. "Hello, Derpy." Spitfire said blankly. "Hi." Derpy replied confusingly. "I take it you talked to Rainbow Dash earlier? I also have to voice my concerns. But in private." Derpy reluctant at first finally said, "Ok." ==5 minutes later== "Look I wanted to talk in private because nopony is allowed to follow me into anypony's house. I was being watched by secret cameras, which cannot get to us here. Now i must tell you this. If the government decides to send you a letter, I will read it with a psycho grin like I'm happy. No matter what it says. I have to. My position as captain could be stripped if I was seen 'mingling' with a 'worthless pegasus'." Derpy now sobbing a little bit replied, "But will you mean It?" Spitfire said, "When I say it, smile and all yes. I won't think twice about it. The government wouldn't do anything really bad, however just know, that if something as a vote to remove your citizenship from Cloudsdale, anyone who fails to vote yes to revoking you will also lose citizenship. This only applies to ponies who vote. So don't worry about your friend Roid Rage." Derpy replied saying, "Wow, Im just--" she began sobbing uncontrollably. Spitfire blankly stated, "You aren't going to get any compassion from me, also hate me and Rainbow Dash and everypony else for this, (Spitfire began talking a bit more coldly) but if the decision comes to kick you out of Cloudsdale, we will all vote Yes unanimously, without a second thought. We don't think you belong here. I don't expect you to like me, but I don't like you. It's for the best if you leave here anyway. People complain so much. People hardly attend Wonder Bolts shows due to being tired because of your reckless behavior. With that said, goodbye, Derpy Hooves.", Spitfire finished bitterly. Spitfire left before Derpy could say anything. Derpy simply hung her head down and put her hooves over her face and began crying harder than before. That's all Derpy managed to remember from those points of the day. ==Back to Previous Flashback== Derpy was now back in the court trembling. "Derpy Hooves, you are found guilty in the following charges, these cases will not land you in Jail but they are what has lead to you being exiled from Cloudsdale, these charges include and/or not limited to: Reckless Behavior Disturbing the Peace Derpy trailed off before he finished. "DERPY!" shouted the Judge. Derpy now out of her lala world shaking, replied, "Yes?" "The decision is unanimous, you are as of today hereby banned from Cloudsdale for all of eternity.", the Judge stated coldly. Derpy said nothing. "There is one more thing, you will now hand us your foal Dinky Hooves." Derpy refused. "Failure to comply will result in life in prison." Somepony whispered something in the Judge's ear. The judge then spoke up again. "Based on what I just heard, failure to comply won't result in life in prison." Derpy sighed, relieved. "It will result in immediate death penalty.", the Judge said with an evil grin. Derpy was shocked. She thought, I have no choice. I have to hand Dinky over, I know she will miss me, but It will be even worse on her if I die. I'm sorry Dinky, mommy will always love you. Derpy began to hand over the young foal who was bawling to no end, when suddenly.... Cliffhanger! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Unexpected Help //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 6: Unexpected Help "STOP!!!", a voice shouted. Derpy looked over at the outbursting pony in shock. It was none other than Thunderlane. "I DON'T CARE WHAT A PONY DOES, NO ONE DESERVES TO LOSE THEIR FOAL. ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WHO HAS GONE THROUGH AS MUCH AS DERPY HAS!!!", he finished. Remove him from--- he was cut off. What Derpy saw next shocked her more. "This is not 20% cool, this isn't 0% cool, this isn't 20% uncool, this is 20,000% uncool!!!" Rainbow Dash, shouted. The Judge didn't even get past a stutter before he was interrupted again. More shock on Derpy's face, this time it was Soarin of the wonderbolts. "No one deserves this kind of thing. It is totally unfair. I don't care what happens to me. You can't do this to somepony. It is completely unfair. Derpy has gone through enough.", Soarin said. "Do you want to be removed from the wo---" again he was cut off. "He won't be getting cut" ,somepony said Derpy almost fainted in shock, the voice had belonged to Spitfire. "I don't like Derpy, I don't think anypony does and I may have read that letter with cold feelings, but now is the truth. This is completely barbaric. You cannot remove a young foal from its mom. It is completely unjust, I will not allow it, and if I have to leave the wonderbolts because of stopping this, dammit, I will." Spitfire finished. "Spitfire, Soarin not only are you stripped of being wonderbolts, you along with Rain---" "Shut your fucking mouth." replied Spitfire. Before anypony could say anything she resumed talking. "I have a very special guest here to talk to you, a VERY special one. 10 minutes passed by. "Well you are being banished from Cloudsdale for false acc--" THOU SHALL SHUT THY MOUTH. The Judge froze. It couldn't be. A dark blue mare appeared behind Spitfire. "P-p-p-princes Luna??", the judge asked, horrified. Luna began talking, still using her royal canterlot voice, but without the 'we'' and the 'thy' and 'thou' I WAS SENT A MESSAGE BY FLEET-FOOT. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO UNFAIRLY TAKE AWAY A FOAL THAT IS HELPLESS. THIS PEGASUS, DERPY HOOVES, WILL NOT BE HANDING HER FOAL TO YOU. INSTEAD YOU WILL BE HANDING ME YOUR GAVEL AND BADGE. YOU ARE OFFICIALLY RELIEVED AS JUDGE OF THE GOVERNMENT OF CLOUDSDALE. YOU ARE ALSO HEREBY BANNED FROM CLOUDSDALE. I CANNOT UNDO THE BANISHMENT OF DERPY HOOVES, BUT I WILL MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RETURN EITHER. NOW, BEGONE! A huge flash of light erupted and the Judge and Luna were gone. There was a note on the Judge's Stand. Spitfire read it. "Derpy Hooves, you are hereby banished from Cloudsdale, but you shall retain full authority over your young foal, Dinky Hooves. The Judge has been banished from Cloudsdale, we will find a replacement soon enough. But time is up. You must leave Cloudsdale at the conclusion of this sentence and note. -Princess Luna" Derpy cried that she had to leave Cloudsdale, but was happy that she got to keep Dinky. Nopony said anything. Derpy took this as a sign to leave, and she left flying far away. ==END Flashback== "Wow." was all that Twilight could say. "I love my mommy", Dinky said. "Mommy loves you too", Derpy replied. ==End Chapter 6== //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Strange Feelings //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 3: Strange Feelings Derpy and Twilight were reading a book together taking turns reading each paragraph. Eventually they began reading in unison. When they realized this they both began to blush. Twilight thought to herself Why am I blushing? Why do I have these feelings? These... strange feelings? Twilight looked at Derpy. Derpy looked back noticing this. "Uhhh Twilight?", Derpy asked. "What?", Twilight asked, snapping out of a trance. "You were zoning out on me there, I thought you'd cast some magic that caused your mind to float off into another galaxy.", Derpy replied. Twilight replied saying, "Actually two galaxies." Derpy then looked at twilight, a puzzled look on her face. Twilight said under her breath, "Your eyes. They are two beautiful galaxies, more like stars. Bright, Beautiful, yellow. "I didn't quite catch that Twilight." Derpy replied. Twilight who was still looking into Derpy's eyes said "It's not important." Derpy said, "Twilight tell the truth, I can tell you're not being honest." Twilight replied saying, "Well okay. BUT Promise you won't tell anypony or take this the wrong way, ok?" "I promise Twilight.", Derpy said. "I think I have a crush on somepony", Twilight said. "Who is the lucky stallion?", Derpy asked. "That's just it, its a mare Derpy.", Twilight replied. "Oh. Well who is the lucky mare then? I mean if they found out you had a crush on them, they'd be crazy not to return the feeling. I mean you are such a smart, caring, beaut-" Derpy was cut off when Twilight caught Derpy in between words and kissed her passionately. Derpy was shocked. She then said, "M-m-m-m-m-me?" Twilight simply nodded. Derpy said, "What do you see in me? Im a nopony. Im just worthless. Everypony always makes fun of me. Your the number 1 student of Princess Celestia. I'm just a pegasus that nopony cares about." Derpy began crying. Twilight hugged Derpy saying, "Derpy it's ok. I care about you. I uh.... I uh.. I love you. I think you are the most beautiful mare I've ever seen, and your knowledge impresses me, I think your eyes are the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. Anypony would be lucky to have you, that said, will you be my very special somepony? Derpy was shocked. "I have to say, ---" CLIFFHANGER!
