A Marine in Debt (Being Re-Written)

Chapter 1

"NO!" Twilight screamed, just a bit too late.

I opened the fairly heavy oak door. As I started to walk outside, I saw plenty of ponies. I noticed the sky, with its perfect shade of blue. The air was clean, no humidity, no stickiness, just, a nice warm embrace. I was staring for a couple seconds too long, because as if rehearsed, they all looked at me at the same time. With their eye's widening to the size of dinner plates, and jaws dropping, I stood there in silence as an awkward feeling washed over me.

"Uhm... Hi?" I slowly say

I could see the fear in their eyes, all of them in a stance to run.

"MONSTER!!"

They all fled at speeds faster than you could imagine a pony could go, kicking up dirt in their wake. I'm not honestly surprised. If an alien just stepped out of a door where I was from, with clothing covered in blood to rival a slasher flick, panic would be expected. Staring dumbly at the chaos I just caused, “Wow, stereo fear”

"Parker???" Twilight asks

"I may have just... scared these ponies half to death." I chuckle

I walk back inside, only for my face to meet the cold, hard, wooden floor. "Son of a bitch!" I groan. I look behind me and found out that I tripped on a loose board of wood. I get up, and crack my neck to help remove the kinks from it. The loud pops made the girls cringe

Feeling a bit dejected, “I can understand panic, but that was a little much wouldn’t you say?”

Twilight's ear twitched lightly, as she looked to the door with a frown "Ugh, not this again."

"Not what again?" I pace around the hard oak library, looking at the spines of a few dusty books

"A couple of years ago, a zebra named Zecora came into town, and everyone fled and left her into the dust just because she was different." Twilight's expression turned sour

"Are you serious?" I shook my head and pinched the bridge of my nose is frustration

"And I can't believe Ponyville hasn't learned anything from Zecora!" Twilight put her hoof to her face.

"So, the town residents fear me because I'm a 6,4" Bipedal creature?" I start to chuckle "I can't get a fucking break from anyone, can I?" Glaring at the door.

"In a nutshell, yes." Twilight gazed to me, a saddened look plastered onto her face

"That's just great" I say under my breath.

"What was that?" Twilight gave me a questioning look

"Nothing."

"Oooookay, anyways, I can show you the history of Equestria if you want, and you girls don't have to stay if you don't want to."

"Okay" All but 1 said in unison

Fluttershy stood up, and being the timid pony she is, she squeaked when I looked over to her "Parker, just make sure you replace those bandages every day. I-If you don't mind... " Fluttershy tried to hide behind her mane, which made my heart melt.

"Will do Fluttershy, thank you."  I remember the aching pain in my shoulder, it feels like my arm is threatening to dislocate from it's socket every time I move it.

"*eep* I need to get home and feed my animal friends! Bye Twilight and Parker!" She said as she flew out of the doorway

I fail to suppress a grin and chuckle "Heh, anyways, you said something about history?"

Twilight sat on the couch and motioned for me to take a seat "Take a seat Parker, this'll take awhile..."

5 hours... 5 straight fucking hours of history, and half of it I don't think I can actually believe it... 'Moving Celestial bodies' ... Sadly, It's not the craziest thing I've seen since I've been here... This is a mythological creature world, seriously. I landed in a fairy tale. My legs feel numb for sitting in this position for too long... Ugh - Twilight snapped me out of my thoughts

Twilight gazed to me and gave me a look like she'd won the lottery "So, what's your world like Parker?"

I scrunched my brow sheepishly "Uhm, I was actually wondering if we could wait till tomorrow for an explanation about that."

Her eyes looked to the floor in disappointment "Oh, alright."

I put a small smile on "Hey, it's okay, I'm just beat right now. I promise I can teach you about my world tomorrow."

She visibly brightened up at this statement.

Her grin could almost give Pinkies a run for her money. "Alright, that sounds fun Parker! Yay, I can't wait to hear about your world! *Squee*"

I jokingly rolled my eyes "I'm going to hit the hay, goodnight Twilight" I say

She sat up from the sofa and started for the staircase "Okay, goodnight Parker"

I take my shirt off and I - *Pompf*

I look around and see Twilight's wings out, and I see a massive blush on her face... The hell?

"Uhm, Twilight? What are you doing?"

She responded too quickly to not be suspicious. "Ehheh... N-Nothing... Goodnight!" Claimed Twilight as she ran up to her room.

That pony is a horrible liar. It's so damn easy to tell. "I'll ask her about that tommorow... Whatever." I mumbled before falling into the darkness of sleep

I wake up, having the most peaceful night of sleep I have had for weeks. I smell the glorious smell of eggs cooking in the kitchen, so I put my shirt back on, and I get up, and head to the kitchen.

"Twilight?" I call out

"Woah! Who are you? Better yet, what are you?" A voice chimed at my feet, I look down to see a small purple and green lizard, fear in his eyes, probably of my height of 6,4"

"I'm Parker, I am a human. What's your name?"

"I'm Spike! I am a dragon... a baby dragon..." Spike claimed sadly

I couldn't help but pity him. He probably doesn't get to do as much as Twilight does. "A dragon? Nice to meet you Spike! Say, have you seen Twilight around?" I asked

"She is in the kitchen at the moment. Oh, and the Princesses are coming over in an hour!" Spike exclaimed

Still in my groggy state, I wipe my eyes "Oh that's nice.... WAIT WHAT?!? The Princesses are coming??"

The dragon covered his ears "Yeah! Calm down though, they are some of the kindest ponies in Equestria. You'll be fine!"

I scratch the back of my head due to the awkward situation "Alright, thanks, I need to talk to Twilight now though."

He rolls his eyes and shakes his head, laughing. "Okay, see you around Parker."

I waved "Bye Spike" I walked through the doorway into the kitchen to find Twilight cooking breakfast, and I walk up to her and say

"Need help?"

"AAH" She screamed, startled

I laugh a bit "Whoops, sorry Twilight."

"Oh, hey Parker, it's fine. How'd you sleep?" She took a glance, and then continued cooking

I pondered on the subject for a few moments before I answered. "Great, actually. It was the best nights sleep that I have had in weeks."

"That's good, I'm guessing Spike told you that the princesses are coming?" She looked at me, waiting for an answer

"Yeah, by the way, what was that thing your wings did last night?"

Her pupils dilated as she looked around nervously. She sighed, I could tell that she knew she wouldn't beable to get out of it this time. "I-It's what they call a.. well... a wing boner..." she claimed, sounding very close to Fluttershy

"Pfffft Bwuahahahaha.... Wait.. You're serious aren't you?" she nodded, ever apparent blush growing a deep crimson red "Oh.." I say, with the awkward situation unfolding.

"So, erm.. anyways..." she stammered

I try to find a way to break the awkward situation I put myself in. "By the way, Got a shower around?" I needed one anyways.

"Yes, to the left and down the hall. And by the way, leave your shirt in the hall, it's got some.. erm.. blood on it.." Twilight said, a little disgusted due to the amount of blood.

As I walk towards the hallway.  "Alright, I'll be out in 5 minutes"

I'm unable to suppress my thoughts any longer.

I hope that 'wing boner' doesn't mean what I think it does. I think about it a bit more before I shrug it off.

After leaving my shirt in the hall and washing myself, which in fact I was quite filthy. I had a seemingly endless amount of sand in my hair and all over my body. But after awhile I think I got it all out. I dry myself off and I changed my bandages. Only to walk out to see Twilight and 2 other alicorns, which means.. Oh shit. I don't even have a shirt... D-did she do this on purpose?!

I look around nervously before I give up. I can't delay the inevitable. "Uhm, hello there..."

"Hello Staff Sergeant John Parker." The white one, which is Princess Celestia from what Twilight told me, the other is Princess Luna

"No need for formalities, just call me Parker. Pleasure to meet you." I said "Sorry for the lack of a shirt... I was... well.. bleeding.. a lot."

"So I've heard, You saved Twilight and her friends from a pack of Timberwolves?" She said in a motherly voice

Dammit... What do I say? Ugh, brain. Help me the fuck out!

Nah, you're on your own.

Motherfucking traitor...

"I was just doing my duty Princess." I monotone

Good one, I hope I don't end up getting executed before this day ends.

She smiled "Please, call me Celestia. I'm ever so grateful for saving my little ponies."

My eyes go to the floor, I should just cut to the chase. "So... Celestia, I was wondering..." I meet her gaze "Am I able to go back to Earth?"

"Hmm, what were you doing before you came here?" She queries

I sighed, knowing I probably can't go back now. "Twilight? Care to play my memories once again?" I ask

She looked at me, and I could see the horrified look in her eyes "S-sure."

She played my memories once again, and it showed the .50 being cocked, to the firefight, and then me being blown up. I would have to say that the princesses looked absolutely horrified.

With her pupils dilated, she slowly answered my question "Oh my... I don't believe you can be sent back, you were killed on your planet."

"Oh.. So... I can never go back.. ever?" I ask, any hope I had was diminishing

"I'm afraid not, I'm very sorry. I can heal your shoulder and arm for you though." Celestia said

I feel the anger, and the sadness building within me, I had to get out of here, soon. "Okay, but I need to take a walk after this."

Her horn glowed as she healed my shoulder, which felt much better now. I rolled it around and it earned a few pops, which felt much better.

"Please excuse me for a couple of moments... I'll be back soon."

I take off, walking out of the library, then onto a jog. I didn't realize on how getting removed from my dimension would anger me so much. If I don't do something to try and remove it soon, I'll take it on on someone.. or in this case, somepony. I run over to a tree, and start punching the hell out of it, soon after I'm starting to leave blood. I continued punching anyways. I hear hoofsteps, and a gasp, which belonged to Twilight.

She looked at me in horror "You're bleeding, stop Parker!"

I glare at her "Twilight. I need to be alone. I can't take this out on anyone... Please leave me be."

She narrowed her eyes "No, I won't let you out here alone."

"You weren't the one plucked from your dimension to never return, Twilight." I growl

She knew she struck a nerve, so she backed away a bit. I just continued hammering on the tree, harder than before. I'm actually leaving dents in the tree. The trees here are more fragile than that of the ones on earth

I felt something wrapping around me, in an embrace... I look down to see Twilight hugging me. I instantly feel all my anger wash away. I decided to hug her back. It was about a minute later before the princesses came along and we broke the hug, smiling sheepishly.

Celestia looked at the tree and saw the blood on it, then looked at me, then my hand. "Parker.. What happened?"

"Well, I kinda took my anger out on this poor tree... This was the result..." I point to the tree and then to my other hand

She healed my hand for me, and then Princess Luna, for the first time, spoke up.

"So you were in a war?" Princess Luna asked

"Yes Princess, I was stationed in Afghanistan in my world. It's basically a desert.." I say

"Please, call me Luna." she giggled "Also, why wouldn't thou use swords?" Luna questioned

"You saw those loud things?" She nodded "Well, my world is much more advanced in technology, and using a sword is a potentially dangerous task. Using these is much more efficient, so to speak.

I pull my .44 and empty the ammunition into my hand, 2 rounds fired from the timberwolf accident.

"This is a gun, and this is it's ammunition." I say as I show them the .44 and the bullets " You may not think that this can't do damage, but it can, this is one of the most powerful handguns in my world."

"Hmm, how powerful is this gun?" Luna asked

" Well, it could probably go through me multiple times before stopping. It would practically rip me apart." I said

Luna shoots me a look as if to say 'I doubt it' at my description, more Luna than Celestia.

"I don't believe it could do that to be honest" Luna claimed

"I'll have to let you shoot it sometime" I chuckle

"I hope you don't intend on using these weapons of yours on my subjects." Celestia said with her unreadable Poker face

"I protect the innocent with my life, I wouldn't dare to hurt them." I say

She relaxed a bit "Good to hear, now, I heard from Twilight that Ponyville's residents are giving you some trouble?"

My face turned into a frown "Well, I opened the door and a couple of seconds later as if rehearsed, they looked at me and ran away."

"I'm sure I can fix that." Celestia said with a hint of authority, she looked up to me and smiled a bit

We were in the town hall at the time and Celestia was going to introduce me to the town. This is what I could hear:

Citizens of Ponyville! Thank you for coming here on such a short notice. But anyways, on to why we are all here.

A new species has been discovered called a human. He isn't from this universe and is going to be staying in Ponyville for now. How about a warm welcome for Staff Sergeant John Parker?" Celestia said

I walk out on stage next to Celestia, and I see that they all have eyes the size of dinner plates currently. One starts to... stomp there hooves? I guess that's how they clap. They all start stomping and Celestia raised a hoof which then they all stopped. A couple looked at me with amazement. Others a hint of disgust, some just look like they can't give two shits, and 1 unicorn, was jumping up and down in pure excitement.

Hello, I'm Staff Sergeant John Parker, But, you can call me Parker if you want. But, I'm assuming that you all have questions for me?"

"How did you get here?" One said, now they are all silenced, awaiting my answer

I think about on how to give them the best answer "Uhm, well, how to put this lightly? I believe I died. Killed in action"

A series of gasps erupted from the crowd.

"How could you have died if you're right here?" Another asked

"Well, I was blown up, in a war, but some reason, I ended up here." I say. They look at me like they've never seen a w- Oh... yeah... I forgot these Equestrians haven't had a war in a long time.

Their jaws were dropped, some looked with saddened expressions, some with horrified or disgusted looks. I'm not surprised.

I jokingly roll my eyes "Calm down, I'm not going to hurt any of you.

Their expressions for the most part turned back to their smiles of seeming endless joy.

"Whats that metal thing on your hip?" one says. My eyes widen, and I freeze, and I look down, only to find my shiny .44 sitting in it's holster.

"I forgot I had this with me" I mumble "That's classified." I don't want to reveal that I have a deadly weapon that could slaughter everyone here. "I can do one more question for now."

That mint green unicorn rose her hoof with so much excitement, so I picked her. "What was your world like?"

I ponder on how I could answer this question, so, I just did. "Well, it was beautiful in some spots, but other spots were corrupted. A fraction of the people there were nice, and caring. But a lot would screw you over, money was a big thing that people fucked you over for. Hell, even some people will just walk right on by if your were getting the shit beat out of you. In other regards, the bad mainly overruled the good."

The mint green unicorn rose her hoof again "What kind of bad?"

"Let me list a few... How about the poverty, the crime, the hatred, the difference, the killing, the denial, the corruption, and the evil." I look to the ground and then the ocean blue sky.

Celestia looked at me sadly. Wow, I didn't expect your world to be like that, Parker.

"Sadly, it is. But, I'm not on that world, or apparently in that universe anymore, but anyways, that is all for now. Goodbye"

"Good point, I think I'll take my leave then. I have to get back to Canterlot- Oh, and here, you may need this." Celestia said "Goodbye Parker" She gave me a pouch of something, I open it up and see a bunch of coins which I'm going to guess is currency. It has a note attached, it says:

Here you go Parker, consider this a token of appreciation for saving my star pupil and her friends.

I made a mental note to thank her for the bits

I got lost on the way back to Twilight's place. I should have left with her, but I decided I wanted to look around town. I take a look into a store window, which is still open. And it looks like a music store. The music inside is making my ears ring, which is saying something. I walk in to find a white unicorn with a blue mane. As soon as she see's me she turns the ear splitting music down.

She looks at me with shock, then excitement "Heeey, you're that human guy! Parker right? I nod "I'm Vinyl Scratch, whatcha lookin' for?"

"Got an acoustic guitar?" I ask, with my ears still ringing.

"Yeah! I've got a couple around, follow me!" she says

I eventually picked out an acoustic guitar, it's a nice deep blue color.

"How much for this one?" I ask

"500 bits, I'll cut it in half if you can play it."

I consider it, 250 bits doesn't seem too bad. "Challenge accepted."

After a moment of thinking for the right song, I find it. "I got a song"

I looked over to her, and saw that her jaw was dropped.

I look around the shop, looking at the guitars and other musical equipment. "How was that?"

She gave me a look of amazement. "That... was... AWESOME!"

"Heh, I didn't know I could sing all that well." I laugh "So, how much for this and a guitar case?"

"250 for the guitar, 25 for a case." She said

"Hmm.. Alright, here you go, 275 bits." I said as I gave her the bits. She left and then returned soon after with a guitar case.

She gave me a small smile "Also, here, you may need some guitar picks."

I start to walk to the exit "Thank you Vinyl! I'll make sure to come back soon."

"No problem! Heeey, you should join me at the club one night, with skills like that!" She looks at me happily

"I can consider it." I wink

After 15 minutes of walking, I find Twilight's house, lights are off. I walk in and can't see anything, just pitch black darkness. I find the lightswitch, and turn it on, only to find it empty, so I went to look for Twilight. As I climbed the rickety stairs up to her room, I saw her sitting down on her bed, looking a bit sad, mixed with anger, and fear. So I walked over to her and said:

"What's wrong Twilight?" I spoke with worry as I sat down next to her on this amazingly comfy bed

"Nothing..." She looked at me, and I could see all the emotions in her eyes

"Twilight, come on, what's wrong?" I persisted

"Nothing!" Her lying was horrible.

"Twilight, I can tell when someone is lying. Please... Don't lie to me..." I meet her gaze, only to see tears building up.

She sighed, and said:

"I heard Rarity went out looking for her little sister and friends, something about catching monsters. She hasn't come back yet, and it was an hour ago-" she said before I cut her off

This is something I've done before, a search and rescue, I take a look around her bedroom, a small shelf of personal books, a window, and a balcony. "Would you like me to help you find her?"

"You would do that for me?" She says happily

"Of course!" I say "Let me grab my gun, meet me outside." I told her

I geared up and I went outside, only to find the rest of Twilight's friends minus Rarity. I lead the way, and I followed 3 small sets of hoofprints. We continue this until we hear:

"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS MONSTER ESCAPERS GO!" I hear 3 voices shriek

"When we get out of here you are all in a lot of trouble!" Rarity shrieked

*ROAR*

I ready my M249 and the ponies come running out, along with.. The fuck.. That's.... a what the fuck is that?

"A manticore!" They all screech, I look back to see horrified looks on their faces, mixed with a whole lot of fear;

"Oh.. great. A mother fuckin' manticore, straight out of the legends... Like everything else in this eye murdering colorful world! "Hey, asshole! Over here!" I say as I step forward. The thing charges at me with a murderous look in its eyes. The kind I've seen in my enemies before they were killed. So I fired.

'RATATATAT' The light machine gun barked, but it got to me before I could do real damage. It slashed my chest, and I could feel the warm crimson liquid gush out of me, running down my stomach. I grab my gun once more and fire.

'RATATATATATA' Which, only some hit the cat. Mainly in the legs. I decided to to grab a frag off of my vest.

"Girls, RUN, now, what I'm about to do is going to be very dangerous, just fucking RUN!" I yell

"He's being s-serious, run!" Twilight said. Which they did

I pulled the safety pin, removed the handle, and I chucked it and limped away.

*BOOM*

I look back, and I took a moment of victory, the cat was over there, over there, and up there. Basically a mangled mixture of flesh, blood and bones. I allow a smirk. Until I was swiftly brought back to reality "Argh!" I wince, in serious pain. With my vision blackening due to blood loss, I drop to my knees.

"Parker!" I hear the girls yell

I look over to them "Are they okay? The kids?"

"Yes, they're fine." Twilight says, starting to tear up. Girls, we need to get him to the hospital, now!

I was levitated up by Twilight and she took flight, towards Ponyville. I'm trying to not pass out, but with my current situation it's proving more difficult with every passing second. I push through it, but I know I won't last much longer If I don't get to a hospital soon.

"Parker, are you still awake?" She glanced back at me

"N-Not for long I don't think"

"You can't die! And I won't let you!" Twilight screamed, going much faster than before. "Stay awake!" Now her tears are flowing freely, I didn't know she cared so much for me.

"I'll be fine-" Is all I said before I coughed up a lot of blood. "I-It'll take more than that to kill me...." I chuckle, earning more painful coughs "H-he got me pretty good, I'll say that." With that, the darkness in my vision is slowly consuming everything.

"We're almost there, You better stay with me Parker! Because If you die, I will bring you back to life and kill you! She threatened

"H-How much farther? I can't hold this up much lon-"

"We're here!" Twilight says to me. "Get him in a room. Hurry!"

I was fighting a losing battle with consciousness, 4 lives are better than one, human or pony. As I pass out I hear a doctor say: "We're losing him, shock him!" With that, and a crying Twilight, I pass out.
