As Rainbow finished her recounting of the tale, the three mares sitting in front of her were still in a daze.
“W-Wait, you were... bitten by a shark, and—” Twilight cut herself off, holding her head between her hands as her eyes spun. “That makes no sense!”
“Hehehe, didn’t make much to me either, but now, I’ve got a pet tortoise AND a pet shark!” Rainbow grinned as she sat back in her bed, still in the hospital to finish up the recovery of her arm, nodding with all the pride and ego she usually had.
“A pet shark? Better not bring it t’ the park, Rainbow.” Applejack just stared at her in moreso bewilderment than confusion or fear. “And... w-wait, you were kiddin’ about the, uh... ‘intercourse’ bit, right?”
“You believe what ya wanna believe, AJ.” Rainbow shrugged and looked over at the last mare with her, a meke, yellow pegasus in a long sleeved shirt, face turned completely red and a few squeaks coming out to answer her glance. “Aww, c’mon, ‘Shy! Haven’t you got anything t’ say?”
“Um... n-no... n-nothing at all. S-Sharks scare m-me...” She shivered again and curled up in her chair, holding her legs close, long skirt held down by her arms.
“Eh. All I know is, I’m taking more vacations to Fillydelphia.” Rainbow chuckled as she relaxed in her hospital bed. What started as a rather terrifying accident ended in the forging of a - strange, mind you - friendship between a pony and a shark, and something to do if she was ever at Mile Beach again. Ponies would speak of the mare who surfed on a shark, and Rainbow would make sure those legends were made. Heh! This might even be better than joining the Wonderbolts!
But that was a tale... for another day.
