A Wiccan Portal and a New Beginning.
who knew life could change with the use of a spell? First off, let me introduce myself. my name is Max. I’m a pretty average guy who had no real life outside of his home… I was 20 years old, I lived with my parents, I had no job or car, and no real social interaction since I got done in high school. not that I cared much though, I mean who needs friends in real life (or at all)? all they do is hang around you, trying to be all buddy-buddy, then turn on you later! Friendship meant nothing to me.... until I cast a certain spell that would change my life for good.
it was an average night watching my daily dose of japanese anime, my dad is downstairs bitching at my mom about how I have no social life, how I have no job, and how she's babying me.... typical.... but then he barges up to my room, and starts yelling at me about not only how worthless I am, but how stupid my hobby of Wicca is! Then, he tossed my spellbook at a nearby wall, causing it to land on my bed.
"Son! This has gone on long enough!! This Wiccan crap is done! Your sitting on your butt 24/7 is finished! Either man up and get a life outside of your room, or get the hell out of my house!!!" my dad yelled, getting right in my face.
He glared at me before stomping out of the room.... his words cut me like a knife.... as much as I wanted to say something, my emotions kept me from saying anything.... I decided I'd take his advice.... and leave his house. Later that night, I packed my things I knew I'd need... all but one thing though: the spell book my dad threw. As I went to pick it up, I saw it was on a page I hadn't gotten to yet... it was labeled "Portal to...". The rest was so faded I couldn't make it out. But I immediately thought "ah what the hell. Anywhere is better than here..."
I decided I'd cast the spell and vanish, but only after I wrote my parent's a note:
"Mom- I'm leaving this house for good... please don't send a search party or anything. you'll never find me.... I love you and I'm sorry...
Dad- ......good riddance.... I hope I never have to see your face again.... you make me sick with your drinking and smoking and choking down food.... I hope you enjoy your perfect house while it lasts... you won't have me to clean it anymore.... goodbye!"
with that, I began to cast the spell....
I prick my thumb with a needle, and draw a pentagram on the wall, then chant the incantation:
"my mind is clear, my heart is ready, with this power I am quite steady. through the portal I shall trot, but spread no secrets that I brought. in this land I now shall live, and here I shall learn to give.... so mote it be."
almost instantly, the pentagram began to glow... spinning faster and faster.... and finally turning into a glowing white portal. the time had come to leave.... I took one last look at my room before jumping into the portal.
as I went through the portal, the light was almost blinding.... it seemed to be never-ending.... then suddenly everything went black.... I knew I was still alive, but I couldn't open my eyes or hear anything for a long time....
when I started to get my hearing back, I could hear a stream running.... and birds chirping.... it was pretty peaceful to be honest... I decided to see where I was so I opened up my eyes, and what I saw amazed me! A world full of color, clean air, and beautiful sounds. I'd never felt anything like this before.... I was at peace. after a bit of staring in amazement I decided it was time to take a look around. But right off the bat, something didn't feel right.... I felt.... different. So I decided to take a look at my reflection. What I saw made me jump back in horror: I had turned into a pony!
at first I thought I was dreaming, but then I tried to stand up on two legs. I fell flat on my flank the first time, and on my face the second time, hitting my nose hard on the ground and giving myself a nose bleed.... the pain in my nose clinched it. I wasn't dreaming... I really got turned into a pony.
many thoughts ran through my mind at this point: where am I? Why am I a pony? Did the spell backfire in some way? Will I be able to adjust to life this way?.... I had no answers, Just a ton of unanswered questions.
"well, I guess I need to figure out where I am and what I'm gonna do..." I said after a while of thinking. "but which way do I go? and more importantly.... how the heck do I walk with four legs?!?!" I yelled loudly.
I fumed over this frustrating issue for a few minutes...Then, I heard a giggle coming from a nearby bush and out of nowhere a pink pony with a puffy pink mane and tail pounced on me, knocking me onto my back!
"owww.... what the-?...." I said, rubbing the back of my head as the pink pony sat on my stomach staring at me. "who the heck are you and why did you jump on me?" I asked after making a bit of eye contact. as soon as I asked her that simple question, she gasped loudly.
"oh my gosh! I've never seen you before, and if I've never seen you before it must mean you're not from here, and if you're not from here it means your new!! HI NEW PONY!!!"
"whoa hey! slow down okay? can you tell me who you are, and where I am?" I asked putting my hooves on her shoulders.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I'm Pinkie Pie and you're just outside of Ponyville!" she said with a big smile.
I tilted my head to one side, utterly confused about not only where ponyville is and about this overly happy mare....
"Ponyville huh? To be honest I've never heard of that place before...." I said bluntly.
Pinkie Pie looked more confused than me. "ummmmmm.... did you come from some other world or something, and what's your name anyway?" she asked, getting right up close to my face.
"uhh.... yeah actually. and my name is Max." I said nervously.
"Thought so! there isn't a pony in Equestria who doesn't know about Ponyville! That'd just be silly! And speaking of silly, who gave you the name Max? it's not much of a pony name! I mean come on, you could have been called Dark Shadow or something!" Pinkie ranted
"well... the thing is...." I started to explain, before Pinkie gasped again.
"ohmygosh! I gotta go! I'm late for work at Sugar Cube Corner!!! Bye Maxy Pony!!" she exclaimed before bolting off.
"whoa.... somebody needs to lay off of the sugar.... well at least I know where I am now. but the thing is, I don't know what to do now... well other than learn to walk on four legs." I sighed and began my long, clumsy walk into town.... man, this is gonna take some getting used to....
