The Pony Zone
Philosophers have pondered for eons on the question, 'What is the meaning of life?' Now a new student will take on this torch and try to discover the answer for the sake of her world. She is armed with wits and logic, with friends and magic, but will the answer she discovers be enough to save her world?
Twilight and her friends are taking on the most powerful evil known in Equestria. Somehow, something terrible has happened to the Princesses. Where rightousness and just once was, now there is only hatred and destruction.
"We have to put a stop to them!" Twilight said to her friends.
"But Twilight, how are we going to do that? They're the most powerful beings in Equestria.", Applejack asked.
"We are the Elements of Harmony. We're unstoppable!", Rainbow Dash exclaimed although she didn't sound to confident.
"But we can't harm the Princesses.", Fluttershy quietly inputted.
"But, darling, they're not acting very ladylike, with all this chaos that they're causing.", Rarity said to Fluttershy.
"Girls! We have to focus! Remember, they have taken the Elements and have hidden them all over Equestria.", Twilight said point blankly.
"How are we suppose to find them Twilight?", Pinkie Pie asked.
"Inside the chest, where I kept the Elements, are envelopes addressed to each of us. My best guess is that we have to open them, and they will lead us to them.", Twilight said.
She opened the chest and levitated each envelope to the pony it was addressed to. Pinkie Pie opened her envelope and read its contents out loud.
"Life isn't always a party,
It has its ups and downs,
If you think hard enough,
You'll remember something that's round,
I'm hard and unforgiving,
I'm everywhere you see,
But when you were a filly,
You were better aquanted with me.
What am I"
Pinkie read her note again to make sure everypony had heard it. The group put their heads together so they could come up with an answer.
"Oh I know the answer! It's a rock! Pinkie you should go to your family's rock farm", Twilight exclaimed.
Pinkie Pie bolted off towards the farm with such great speed that even Rainbow Dash was jealous. Rainbow Dash was the next pony to open her envelope.
"I can be fast,
I can be slow,
I can be high,
I can be low,
I can be dark,
I can be light,
I can be heavy,
I can be bright,
I can be big,
I can be small,
Yet without me,
There'd be no green at all.
What am I?"
All the ponies were silent, for they were deep in thought, until Twilight spoke up, "It's a rain cloud."
Rainbow Dash then said, "Hey yeah! Cloudsdale is making rain clouds for Ponyville right now! I'll go check it out!", and she flew off to check the cloud factory.
Fluttershy opened hers next.
"The one who is reading,
Is the one who is shy,
She's afraid of shadows,
She's afraid of saying hi,
She's afraid of darkness,
She's afraid of the night,
She's afraid of the day,
She's afraid of the light,
She's afraid of everything,
She's afraid of all things empty,
Except for the one place,
Where she was brave for her friend's safety.
Where am I?"
Twilight said, "Oh that's an easy one! It's in the cave that dragon was in."
Fluttershy at first refused to go, until she was reminded of what was at stake. Applejack opened her letter and began to read it openly.
"All day long,
I work and I toil,
Then you take my offspring,
And you make them boil,
I am very tall,
and I am proud,
Yet I keep silent,
I'm not very loud,
I'm what keeps your family,
Satisfied and fed,
I can be many colors,
But the favorites are green, brown, and red.
What am I?"
Applejack stared blankly at the paper. Twilight then came up with the answer, "Apple trees! Applejack go check Sweet Apple Acres!"
"Ah'm on it Twilight!", she said as she took off running.
Only Rarity and Twilight were left. Rarity opened her envelope and read it aloud.
"I am glitz and glammer,
I go where you want me,
According to you, without me,
There would be no beauty,
I come in all sizes,
Both big and small,
I'm hard to find,
Yet you search from spring till fall.
What am I?"
Rarity looked at her friend and said, "Come on Twilight, I know you know the answer."
After some thought Twilight said, "Gems! Rarity go check your gems!"
Twilight knew she was smart , but to answer all the riddles by herself? All of her friends had left to find their respective element. The only riddle left to answer was Twilight's. She opened her envelope, but instead of a riddle she found a single question.
"Answers of questions,
Is what you seek,
You search so much,
Others think you're a freak,
You think your so smart,
You think you can end this strife,
Then tell me young Twilight,
What is the meaning of life?
Discover the answer,
And perform the task,
We shall be defeated,
And in eternal glory you shall bask."
Twilight stared at the paper. She was frozen, for she didn't know the answer. She quickly thought of the one place that could help, and began heading there. She ran to the library.
She bursted through the door and began throwing books around searching for the right one. She knew she had read a book on the subject before. As she searched she grew more and more frantic. Finally she had found the book she was looking for. She opened the book and began to speed read.She had gotton half way through the book when she saw something that gave her hope.
She found a spell that would increase her knowledge on every subject known. She quickly read how to perform the spell and cast it on herself. She had to focus everything she had on casting this spell. After she had cast it she was extremely tired, but she had to press on. The fate of everything she held dear was at stake.
She could feel the knowledge coursing through her body. She began to brood very deeply on the question, and a sudden realization hit her, she now knew what she had to do.
Her friends were returning from their own endevours, with their elements strung around their necks. They had to find Twilight to make sure she knew that the Princesses had stopped their brutal rampage. That they had just simply disappeared without a trace.
They searched for her everywhere and decided to check her place out. As they entered the library they saw a horrific sight. Twilight was hanging from the rafter by her neck. They ran up to save their friend, but it was to late. There on the table beside her was her envelope with the letter inside. There written on the bottom of the letter was a single word,
"DEATH"
