Chapter 5 - The Market

After coming up with a horrible lie to tell Fluttershy about why the Rarity closed the door at her shop. You and Fluttershy arrive at the market. The market was buzzing with activity , as many ponies with goods were walking here and there, and also lifting heavy items preparing there stands. With the market being so busy with different ponies, you didn't catch yourself staring, or Fluttershy, who was trying to get your attention.

You feel a little nudge of a hoof on the side of your leg and you look down at Fluttershy with a smile.

"Sorry, I got distracted a little."

Fluttershy smiled back at you, "Oh that's ok, ummm I just wanted to ask. What kind of foods do you like?"

You look at all the stands that are out in the market and all you see are fruits and vegetables.

You think for a little bit. Knowing that Fluttershy was a pony, you knew she probably didnt eat meat. You look back down at Fluttershy and say, "Well I eat salads, spaghetti, lazanya. Things like that."

Fluttershy smiled, "Would a fruit salad be ok for tonight?"

You smile and reach down and scratch behind her ear. "That sounds lovely."

Fluttershy closes her eye's and leans into your hand as you hit the perfect spot, letting out a pleasant sigh.

You couldn't help but chuckle at her cuteness. You stop scratching and follow Fluttershy into the market.

You both head to a stand that contained an assortment strawberries, grapes and bananas. Fluttershy trotted up to the stand and you held back a little just to observe your surroundings. While Fluttershy was picking fruits and talking with the vendor you noticed a flower stand, and you quietly step away approaching the flower stand.

You walk up to the stand and admire the beautiful flowers that were shown. A light yellow coated pony with a raspberry mane and tail with light raspberry highlights appeared at the stand and greeted you. "We'll hello there cutie. What can I get for you?"

You blush at the compliment and give a slight chuckle before you answer. " Well I was hoping I could get a few flowers for my friend over there," you say pointing over at Fluttershy who was still at the other stand paying for her groceries.

"Oh Fluttershy! She's one of my best customers. Are you her boyfriend or something?" She asked with a wink.

You blush even more. "Ohhhhh no, I'm just a friend trying to be nice."

The mare nods and turns around getting some flowers. "We'll ok , I have some new roses fresh from the garden. I know Fluttershy likes them." As she was getting flowers, she bent forward raising her rump up to pick the flowers by the root. She flicked her tail to side and then back again

"Sure, you can me pay me back later, But only if you come to my home two days from now to help me move some furniture.” Being the kind man you are, you agree and take the flowers to give to Fluttershy. Unaware of what you had just gotten yourself into.

You waited behind Fluttershy allowing her to finish her transaction. Once Fluttershy finished and turned around, You presented the flowers to her causing Fluttershy to let out small gasps and blushed. "W-who are those for." She asked acting shy.

You smile and scratch behind her ear again. "They’re for you silly." you say giving them to her.

Fluttershy placed the groceries down and took the flowers. "Oh Anon. There beautiful." she said looking at them and sniffing them. Just then, she opened her mouth and bit the head off the flower and started to chew on it.

Your mouth dropped and you were about to question why she did that, but you just kept your mouth shut.

Fluttershy swallowed. "Thanks Anon, that was really good, But I'm going to save the other two for after dinner." She said nuzzling your leg. "Ok Fluttershy. Can I carry those bags for you?" You ask, already starting to pick them up.

Fluttershy nods and begins to trot to the next stand. You grab the bags and follow behind her.

After a little bit of grocery shopping with Fluttershy and meeting new pony's. You and Fluttershy only have to pick up a few more groceries and then you two will be able to head home.

Both of you arrive at a stand that has apple treats and pies. An orange pony with a blonde mane and tail was facing away from the stand putting things on a cart.

Fluttershy spoke first, "Hi Applejack." The orange pony's ears perked up and she began to turn around. "We'll howdy Fluttershy, what are you- ".

Applejack stopped mid sentence and stared at you. Fluttershy smiled and gave an introduction. "Applejack meet Anon. Anon this is Applejack."

You gave Applejack a warm smile . Unable to give a hand shake because you were holding the groceries. "Nice to meet you Applejack." Applejack smiled and nodded her head at you. Reaching up to her head acting like as if she had a hat. But she didn't have a hat on. She frowned and groaned. "Nice to meet you to Anon. I would tip my hat to you, but that jokester Rainbow Dash took my hat an flew off with it. That gal sometimes… And what makes it even worse is that it is about to rain."

You never even noticed the weather as you looked up saw dark clouds being gathered together by the Pegasi.
Fluttershy spoke up. “ohhh, I forgot there was supposed to be storm scheduled today. I just came by to see what good treats you have."

Applejack gave a warm smile "We'll go on head and take whatever you want. It's on the house."

Fluttershy gasped "Why thank you Applejack, that's really kind of you. Anon I'll let you pick."

You smiled at Fluttershy and looked at the pies and treats that we're still out. As you were looking at the treats you felt a raindrop hit your nose.

You look around and you see the rain drops start to fall more quickly. You grab a pan of apple pie and you thank Applejack. You pick up the groceries and follow Fluttershy to her home before the rain starts to pour.

Chapter 6 - A Soft Spot

You and Fluttershy arrive at her cottage just in time. The rain had picked up and stared to pour heavily. Lighting flashed every now and then, leaving behind intimidating thunderous booms.

Fluttershy jumped every now and then at the sound. You and Fluttershy light a few candles and walk into the kitchen and start to make dinner.

"Fluttershy why don't you go and sit down. I'll make dinner for us. It's the least I can do, since you’re going to be taking care of me." You say, as you start to take the food out of the bag.

Fluttershy smiles and nods. Shaking a little, as she leaves the kitchen into the living room.

"Wow, Fluttershy must be really freaked out by all this thunder," you thought to yourself as you pull out all the fruits and lettuce and set yourself to work.

Once you were finished and pleased with your work, you got the pates ready. On your plate, just some simple salad with some chopped apples, blueberries, and banana slices. For Fluttershy, almost the same thing, you just replaced the banana slices with rose pedals.

You pick up both plates and carry them to the living room. You find Fluttershy laying down on the couch. Her head was between her front hooves, her ears flattened, obviously not enjoying the storm. Her body looked tense and her wings looked ruffled.

You put the plates down and sat down beside her. "Fluttershy. Is something wrong?" Just then a loud boom of thunder sounded and Fluttershy jumped and shook violently. "N-no I'm just a little scared of the thunder." You let out a small "oh". You decide to be a little bold. You slide closer to Fluttershy, and you pick her up and place her in your lap.

Fluttershy looked back and gave you a questioning look. You place a hand on her back and you begin to gently rub her back. You bring another hand to her ear and begin to scratch it, seeing that previously she seem to like it. You feel her start to relax and hear her let out a soft sigh.

You pat her back and you pick her up and place her back on the couch. You grab her plate and place it in front of her. "This looks good Anon. Thank you." She said starting to eat her food. You grab your own plate and begin to eat.

After you finished you’re food, you look at Fluttershy who was munching on her rose pedals. The rain and thunder had lightened up, leaving Fluttershy looking relaxed and comfortable. You were going to take off your pants, but decided it would be best not to, and you slide into the bed with Fluttershy. You lie on your back and turn your head toward her. "Good night Fluttershy," you say.

Just then you felt Fluttershy snuggle her body against yours and she nuzzles your chest . “Goodnight Anon."

You close your eyes with a happy and peaceful heart, wondering what the next day will bring.
