Almost 100 years have passed since Twilight Sparkle became an alicorn. Equestria grows, friends grow older, and she carries her duties with grace and dignity. She learns that the time has come for the Pilgrimage, when royalty from all over Equestria must journey back to where the first alicorns were created and how they came to me. As part of Celestia's family, Twilight travels with the princesses of sun and moon, as well as the princess of love, Cadence. Together, they will discover and rediscover the ancient paths and trials their royal predecessors took in order to start an ancient and heroic legacy Twilight has just only inherited. And during this Pilgrimage, Twilight must face some of her own questions and hope that this Pilgrimage will offer answers.
