//-------------------------------------------------------// Sunrise -by nxtl68- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// 1: My name is Sunset Shimmer //-------------------------------------------------------// 1: My name is Sunset Shimmer Equestria Girls: Sunrise Chapter 1 Interstate 15 Canterlot-Ponyville connector Human world. My name is Sunset Shimmer, and I’ve had a hell of a last six weeks. For the uninitiated, this version of Equestria with its loud cars, concrete paths, and two legged inhabitants, is not my true home. I used to be a pony. A unicorn studying under the closest thing I’ve met to an actual God, Princess Celestia. But when she pretty much told me I’d never earn the power I was supposedly being groomed for, I gave her the proverbial “kiss my ass” and leaped through a portal where the Princess was the Principal, magic didn’t exist, and everyone walks on two legs and wears funny clothes. Without telling my entire back story, I spent the last three years making friends, playing them against each other, becoming Queen Bitch of the school, and getting a taste of actual power for once. And things were good, until Princess Cuntlestia’s newest dust flap kicked my ass back to square one. Luckily, my old friends took me back with open hoo- I mean arms. However that demon thing I transformed into, you know, the one I turned into and tried to murder the fuck out of Sparklebitch (that’s Cuntlestia’s newest dust flap by the way) didn’t actually die when that rainbow-beam-of-harmony hit it. It just dug itself into my mind, taunting me, torturing my innermost thoughts. The demon bitch is feeding off my hate and anger, getting stronger every time I so much as suck my teeth whenever someone calls me outside of my name. Especially that Great and Powerful Trixie; I swear one of these days I’m going to shove those peanut butter crackers right up her presumptuous boastful ass. Or better yet, snap her in half like one of those damn candy bars snails is always eating. Yeah…that’s it…I’ll rip that tramp’s spine out and beat her with it, or maybe take those spreader sticks from her precious cracker packs and stab her in the eyes with em. That’ll be a laugh, watching her run around screaming. Then I shove her head against a door knob, then… Wait…where did that come from? See what I mean about that damn demon? It’s like a “do not get angry” status effect. Or else the monster from the deep in my mind is going to rear its ugly head and lay waste to everyone at my school, some of which I actually like. That is why I’m out here riding. The Buell 1190RS softly hums between my legs and a single headlight lights my path as the moon’s dull light reflects off my helmet and my red and yellow curls flap in the breeze. When I’m riding, my mind is at peace. There are no thoughts other than how fast I can go, and how good do I look doing it. For instance, take this exit ramp. I’m currently in the far left lane, while my exit, a tight right-hander going down onto the road below, is three lanes over. There’s no traffic out, seeing as it’s 1:30 at night, so the choice is obvious. I lean to the right, don’t even bother with the signal, and cross all three lanes as I gear down from sixth to third. I straighten up as I near the curve then lean again as I take the exit, my knee softly rubbing the ground as I take a curve rated at 20 miles per hour at close to 115. After I leave the hill I gun it and lean to the left, shooting out in front of a minivan, its horn blaring as I disappear into the night ahead of the driver. God I love this thing. I know what you’re asking: how did a high school senior get a forty-grand motorcycle? Well, it’s simple- when you bring a bunch of precious gems in one world that are anything but in another, selling them off a little at a time cures a lot of troubles. Speaking of troubles, here’s one now in the form of the orange light flashing on my bike’s display panel. I need gas, and soon. Thankfully there’s a gas station not far of the exit ramp. So I pull in to the nearest empty pump and click off the engine. I undo my helmet and shake the stray strands of hair from my face. I unzip my leather jacket and sit up, stretching out my back after a good night’s ride. I climb off and pop the gas tank open, then deal with the pump. As I swipe my card and enter my pin, my right thigh starts vibrating. I pull the pump with my left hand, while fishing out my phone with my right. I see I have a call, from Fluttershy. I can’t help but let a soft smile crease my lips looking at her picture. Despite the cruel things I did to her, she was the first to welcome me back into their little group of friends. She was the one I could talk to the most when I first showed up, and after that whole demon-shimmer thing, we picked right back up where we left off. “H..hello?” I hear the adorable voice on the other end of the line. “Didn’t think you’d be up, Flutters”. I reply, leaning against the bike as I watch the numbers roll on the gas pump. “Oh..well…I wasn’t very sleepy…But what are you doing up? That is… if you don’t mind me asking…” All these years, and that bunny she sneaks in her backpack has more balls than her. “Its fine, Flutters, really. I’m just on a night time ride. The real question is, why are you awake? Usually you’re dead asleep by now.” Fluttershy normally isn’t awake past nine at night. That’s why she’s always at school so early. “Oh..well…Rainbow Dash wanted to know if you were going to take up her offer.” Of course…it had to be Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy’s best friend and all around athlete. She wants me to reprise my role as center forward on the school football team. And before you ask: yes, it’s one of those games that reminded me of home. Yes, I stopped playing because Rainbow Dash and I fell out. But not because I was becoming school royalty; it was more of a “Dash can’t share the spotlight” problem. Now that I’m back to normal and all, she thinks that playing again will somehow repair my wrecked reputation. “Flutters, you know how I feel about playing with Dash,” I reply and squeeze the pump handle one or two more times before withdrawing pipe from tank. “Oh I know Sunset, but think about the popularity you could get back!” “What makes YOU think-” I stop myself before I unload on Fluttershy. “I don’t need popularity right now after what happened… It only makes my problems worse.” “Then play to clear your head. You keep telling me about the voice, it’ll keep your mind off it.” “Flutters, I really don’t think-” “Pleeeeease? I think you’ll do really well!” Celestia dammit, I can’t resist her when she gets into her pleading voice. It’s like a million angels tugging at your heart. So I do the only thing I can, and relent to my friend’s wishes. “Alright, alright. Tell Dash I’m in. Now go to bed.” I swear I hear a squee on the other side of the phone “That’s great news! I’ll tell her right away. See you tomorrow Sunset Shimmer!” She actually uses my full name as she hangs up the phone. I don’t know what’s got her so excited. She doesn’t have to deal with the ego that is Rainbow Dash at practice, or that Lightning Dust girl. Of course Dash thinks I can “bridge the gap” somehow, like I know how to keep the peace with anyone. But if I’m going to learn what it means to be a good friend, I guess I can start on the field. So I seal the gas tank and start the motor on my ride. As I put my helmet back on, I can’t help but think that a return to the field might actually be a good idea. Author's Note Football=Soccer here. Also Read and Review please! I want to make this a good story for all of you //-------------------------------------------------------// 2: Finally Looking Up //-------------------------------------------------------// 2: Finally Looking Up Sunrise Chapter 2 It’s 4 fucking thirty… Four fucking thirty in the morning, and my phone is ringing. Who in the wild wide world of Equestria is fucking calling me, at fucking four thirty?! “Hey Sunset!” Fucking. Rainbow. Dash. I swear to God if I snap, she’s going to be the first one I bend over, take the school flagpole, and shove it up her egotistical, pompous… “Hey there Dash…um…what do you want?” “Fluttershy texted me and said you were going to come back to the soccer team!” Celestia dammit. Fluttershy must have told her as soon as she got off the phone with me so that I wouldn’t be able to get out of it. “Yes, I’m looking forward to it.” That’s it Sunset, just be sincere as possible and… “Great! She told you we’re having our first practice 6:30 am today, right?” Why is she so excited about a 6:30 am practice?! Of course this would happen after I go on a late night ride. I lift my sleep deprived body into a sitting position against my headboard and wipe the sleep from my eyes. I hold the phone in my right hand as I kick the covers out and stumble into a standing position. “I had no idea…it must have slipped her mind. We talked really late last night.” “She told me. Have you been feeling okay? You’ve been going out late ever since you got-” “I’m fine!” It’s bad enough I’m up at this ungodly hour, the last thing I need is to be reminded about that…thing. “Just…6:30, right?” “Yeah, on the field behind the school. You know where to find it.” I don’t even say bye. I just click the phone off and toss it across the room. I look up at the mirror overlooking my dresser. My hair’s a mess, and my eyes have bags from lack of sleep. But a promise is a promise, so I have to deal with the sleep deprivation and tough it out. “Temper, Temper little girl…” Oh great, the voice in my head is talking to me again. “I don’t want any of your shit today. Just stay in the dark corners you like so much and shut up.” “Excuse me, but who do you think is in charge here?” The voice in my head cackles, then the pain starts. Like someone’s drilling on my head with a damn auger. I drop to my knees in pain and clutch my forehead with both hands. My eyes shut tight, and somehow I suppress the screams pooling in my throat. I feel my nails digging the skin as I’m curled into a ball now, crying like a three year old lost in the grocery store looking for her mother. I roll onto my knees with my head against the floor as my stomach starts to churn like a cement mixer. My hands leave my head and instinctively clutch my belly as I get cold. Like near absolute zero cold. So to recap: My head’s vibrating like I’m being assaulted by a jackhammer. I’m blending cement in my belly, and my body’s convulsing like I’m in the arctic. Basically I’m in hell. But before I can contemplate ending my suffering the old fashion way, the pain mercifully ends. “Looks like I’m tougher than you thought, bitch.” I taunt the demon, Sunset Satan I think they call her. She’s unfazed, as usual. “Stop kidding yourself child. If I really wanted to hurt you, you’d have no way of stopping me.” A sharp pain in my stomach makes me cry out before the voice vanishes completely. Shortly after, my body regains its normal functions. When I climb to my feet and check my reflection in the mirror, I notice that I’m bleeding from both nostrils and my bottom lip. Terrific. I dash off into the bathroom and clean up my face. I dig out a few cotton swabs and jam them in my nose, and wash the remaining liquid from my face. I stare at myself in the mirror. This scene has repeated itself over the past six weeks with increasing intensity. This damn curse, all because of Celestia’s...“student”… Dumb bitch didn’t even teach her that the rainbow beam of purity shit doesn’t work as efficiently here as it does in Equestria, especially with only one damn element. So now I’m stuck with Sunset Satan camping, making my life a living hell. But I have no time to cry over my situation. I have to find my gear and get a shower. Seeing as I look like I went three rounds with Ronda Rousey and lost, I’d better take my shower first. So off to the bathroom I go. I jump in the shower, clean my face, and wash the sweat and dirt from being in my riding leathers for so long last night. Twenty minutes later I’m out and looking through my closet for my soccer gear. You don’t know how many outfits you have in your closet before you have to find something, and sifting through this mountain of clothes and shoes eats into the time advantage I had when I decided to get up at this ungodly hour. Finally, at the very back of my closet, I find my old cleats and shin guards. I got them custom ordered in the school’s sports colors: blue base with gold trim, and the gold horseshoe turned sideways into a C smack dab in the middle. Luckily, they still fit. Into my orange gym bag they go. What I can’t find is my old practice uni. Hopefully I can get a spare from Rainbow Dash, or else I’m going to practice in riding leathers, again. I throw a spare outfit in the bag for after practice and put on my riding leathers. I cross my room and find my phone, thankfully in one piece, and check the time. Thanks to my early morning demon attack coupled with digging out my soccer gear, I now only have forty five minutes to get to school. It’s a good thing I have a fast ride. I grab my bag, zip it up and sling it over my shoulder and dash out the house, grabbing my helmet and keys on the way. Usually it takes me about 30 minutes to get to school during ideal traffic. With the roads pretty much empty, I make it there in under ten. I find a nice parking spot right in front of our field and cut the bike off. I take off my helmet and relax, giving a hearty sigh as I watch the sun rise, bathing the fields green grass in a dull orange hue. It’s during this time that I daydream to freshman year. I needed something to do as most of this world’s vices were rather dull. Their love of sport, however...was something I could get in on. It’s here that I also met Little Miss Awesome herself and Southern-fried companion. Rainbow Dash is full of pride, and not in a good way. She’s always going on about how awesome she is. Despite that, Princess Sparklebitch saw in her the element of flippen Loyalty. I wish I knew what she was smoking when she came to that decision, I fucking want some. This chick will talk about herself and her “awesomeness” for literally no reason at all. On the field, she holds the ball way too long while trying to take on the entire opposing team herself. God, I remember when we played Fillydelphia, I had to practically yank her to the side by her ponytail and remind her that she’s on a fucking team. And even then we almost lost that game. But I guess she has a seeing eye for holes in the defense, which she exploits easily. Then there’s her best friend, Applejack. The girl has a big boot, and a big fucking mouth. The “Element of Honesty”, apparently, is another phrase for voicing your opinion when no one asked for it in the first place. She always has to interject herself into everyone’s conversation. It’s probably because she’s the least noticed of her little group of friends. What makes her a good soccer player is those legs of hers. She can kick the ball into the net from clear across the field, a feat witnessed on many occasion. And where do I fit in this little puzzle of stars? Well I’m what they call a “facilitator”, a fancy word for being good at passing the ball. And when I have a wing as fast as Rainbow Dash and a Midfielder with long range skills like Applejack, it’s not hard to get assists. I also have a reputation for being a hot head, according to my Equestrian Sports Network scouting report (I was number four in the country when I last played). It’s not my fault that one chick from Los Angelhoof ran her face into my elbow, but that bitch didn’t undercut me the next time we played against each other, now did she? I check my phone for the time. It’s now 6:34, where the hell is everybody? Dashie said this practice was going on at 6:30, and if there’s one thing she isn’t, it’s late. If this was a gag I swear to Celestia I’m gonna bash her face against a goal post! Movement catches my eye and I look in the direction of the gym just in time to see a flash of pink zoom in the back door. Was that Pinkie Pie? What’s the crack addict doing here? I put the kickstand down and hop off the bike, and set off towards the building. If anyone would know why Rainbow Dash would apparently stand me up, it would be her. I hop up the steps and give the door handle a firm tug. It doesn’t budge, but I know this damn door was open. So I bang on the door. Like magic, the pink party wonder pops her head out of the door. “Hey Sunset! What are you doing here so early?!” she asks. “I was gonna ask you the same thing, you don’t play football.” I respond. It’s not that she’s not an athletic girl, but Pinkie usually likes to watch Rainbow Dash and plan the after parties for the myriad of teams Dash captains. “Well, umm…I was just helping her plan a party!” “Party for what?” “Wait…she didn’t tell you?!” “Would I be asking you about it if she had? Look, is Dash in there? If I could talk to her...” I grab the door and try to open it, but the door doesn’t budge. “Wait! We’re not ready yet!” she pleads. I’m not in the mood for her or anyone else’s shit today. I push her out of the way and walk in. And I freeze. There are streamers and confetti littered all over the places. A large rectangular table full of breakfast treats sits against the right hand wall, with several tables laid out across the floor. Over the stage, a large banner painted “Welcome back Sunset Shimmer!” hangs across the opening. I can’t believe…did they actually… “SURPRISE!!!!!” Twelve joyful voices ring out in a chorus as my former teammates leap from their hiding spots, their faces full of smiles. Then I’m suddenly glomped from behind. I managed to keep my balance, and look back to see Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Rainbow speaks first.“We thought we’d throw you a little surprise party before practice!” Applejack nods. “Fluttershy told us ye’r havin a hard time after that whole “Sunset Satan” stuff, so we thought we’d cheer you up a bit!” I can’t believe this. After everything I did. All the rumors I started, the harsh names I called them, and they still care. Even after I almost killed everyone, they’re still willing to do all of this just to cheer me up? Do I really deserve this? I start to tear up, and hug them close. Then I hear the voice, the soft angelic like voice. “umm….do you like it…sunset shimmer? It took a lot of work to get everyone together in such a short time…” I turn around and find Fluttershy being her usual shy self. She looks off to the side, twirling a strand of hair around her finger. When Rainbow and Applejack let me go, I stumble over to her, then envelop her in a tight hug. She meeps, but eventually returns my embrace. “Thank…you…Thank you so much!” I answer her through my tears of joy and hold her even tighter. I feel her gently pat my back as I let it all out in front of everyone. Six weeks of frustration, six weeks of hating myself and other people because of my damn transformation, and what they thought of me because of it, was let out in tears on Fluttershy’s slender shoulder. “I’m glad you like it.”Fluttershy whispers and I swear I feel a peck against my cheek. Did she just… “Now doesn’t that just warm yer heart?”I hear Applejack swoon. I guess that answers my question. I gaze into Fluttershy’s eyes and return the peck, and then face the rest of the crowd. I clear my throat, wipe my face clean of the tears, and address the crowd. “I…I don’t know what to say…I was a real bitch to all of you, some more than others. And even still you showed up here to welcome me back with open arms. After the past six weeks I’ve had, this is the greatest…greatest…” I can’t hold it together and start to tear up. This time my teammates, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie envelop me in a group hug. I hold them tight as Pinkie Pie speaks. “We understand Sunset, we’re your friends. And we’re going to be with you no matter what!” She shouts before springing away from the group. “Now let’s paaar-tay!” For once, Pinkie Pie’s shouting doesn’t annoy me. In fact, things are actually looking up. //-------------------------------------------------------// 3: Team Breakfast //-------------------------------------------------------// 3: Team Breakfast Sunrise: Chapter 3 Not even Sparklebitch could ruin this day. That’s what I’m thinking as I scarf down a banana. After the big celebration of my return, everyone dove into the food like hungry wolves and scattered throughout the tables. I find myself sitting at a table with my new friends Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack. Flutters sits at my right hand, quietly munching away at some strawberry crepes. The oddest part about her plate is the pattern she’s made with the food. She’s placed the crepes on a bed of egg whites, outlined with strawberry slices, and orange slice petals extending out from the center. It looks like a little flower, like the one she’s always pinning in her long pink hair.. She’s quite the skilled artist when it comes to food. Next to her sits the team captain, Rainbow Dash, with a completely empty plate. Not because she didn’t eat anything, but because she cleaned off her plate in “ten seconds flat.”Miss Athlete had herself a nice plate of sausage and eggs, with a strawberry fruit smoothie on the side. She leans back in her chair, the front legs off the floor as she pushes back and forth gently against the table legs. To her right we have…*sigh* Applejack. I swear she was literally raised in the barn on her family’s farm. Here she is, boots up on the table, smacking her gums on an apple without a care in the world. You would think this would unnerve Pinkie Pie, but she’s busy inhaling, and I mean that in every sense of the word, her third plate of syrup with a side of pancakes. Seriously, her plate has so much of the stuff on it that it’s spilling onto the beautiful purple tablecloth she chose for this occasion. I can’t help but wonder where all this food goes. She eats like a human vacuum cleaner. But would you believe she actually weighs less than me? It makes sense though, since she doesn’t sit still for more than five seconds. I glance around the room at the rest of my teammates and can’t help but get nostalgic. When we first started playing, Pinkie Pie would organize these team breakfast parties almost on a whim. We never batted an eye when we showed up to practice to find a bunch of signs pointing to the gym for a breakfast get together. We’d eat, talk, and then work off all that weight with practice, or kicking some rival school’s butt in a game. These breakfast parties stopped after I tore Pinkie and her group of friends apart. Consequently, the team hasn’t had a winning season since. I’m broken out of my trip down memory lane when I hear a chorus of awws from the table. I look to my right and see Fluttershy resting her head on my shoulder. I can’t help but smile at her. Flutters has been my confidant ever since this whole “Sunset Satan” thing went down. After “Sunset Satan” started appearing in my mind, I went to her on a whim, or maybe it was desperation. I don’t know, I poured out everything that was in my head to her. I expected her to shun me, to call me crazy and stop talking to me. Maybe tell the entire school that I’d gone batty. That “crazy bitch” Sunset Shimmer has finally lost it. And who would blame her? I was awful to her. I ruined her silent auction, called her a good for nothing treehugger, and ripped her away from her best friends. But when I needed her, she was there. She listened to my every word, and helped me find ways to keep the voice at bay. Since then, we’ve been spending a lot more time together. In the end, we’ve become a lot closer. I can’t help but smile at her little quirks. She’s a real sweetheart, kind, and a helluva listener; even though she’s afraid of her own shadow. And despite her almost crippling timidness, she can muster up the courage to put people in their place every now and then. As I put my arm around her shoulder and give her a gentle hug, and watch the smile slowly crease her lips, I can’t help but think that this might be going somewhere other than just friends. “And when did this happen?” Rainbow Dash swoons. “When did wha-“ I then remember Fluttershy on my arm. “I d-don’t know really. I’m not sure it’s even a thing.” “Sugar, you’ve got Fluttershy wrapped in your arm like there’s no place she’d rather be and you’re tellin us it’s not a “thing”? Applejack takes a break from smacking her gums to actually speak. “Well I don’t know! Just…look, six weeks ago I didn’t have friends other than Snips and Snails for God’s sake, now I have you girls. And now this, I’m just...we’ll see.” With my cheeks burning red I wrap an arm around Fluttershy’s shoulder. “Ooooooo! Sfunsfwet fwlikes fluttewrshy!” Pinkie shouts while chowing down on her fifth plate of pancakes. I blush and look away, when I notice someone missing. “Hey, shouldn’t Rarity be here?” Applejack rolls her eyes “Oh she couldn’t be bothered ta wake up early enough and help out. Somethin about her facial treatment and needin adequate sleep or something like that.” Of course, the fashionista needs her damn beauty sleep. “But she did say to give her best” Rainbow Dash says. Wow, I’m stunned. I didn’t expect Rarity to even care about me after the way I embarrassed her last year. Me and her were the best of friends...once. But as the case when two alpha bitches befriend each other, it usually ends in tears. Before I can sulk too much about the past, Rainbow Dash stands from her seat, and picks up her smoothie glass and a fork. She taps the two together, bringing the entire room to attention. “Alright girls, listen up!” She starts. “I know we’ve had a rough couple of years, but this year we’re going to get our title back! Our team was fractured and torn apart, but Sunset Shimmer has come back to the fold! The Wondercolts are whole again, and when we play at 100% like we did Freshman year, nobody can even lay a finger on us!” The girls applaud and some shout words of encouragement as Rainbow continues her speech. “In five days, we play the Baltimare High Blaze on our home turf, and we know how they embarrassed us last time!” I remember that game. The worst defeat in Wondercolt history. And no, we’re not gonna talk about it. All I’m gonna say is that when your three best players get red carded, at the same damn time, it’s not gonna end well for you. “But we’re not going to let that happen. We are going to defend our home turf, and show Baltimare, and the rest of the High School Premiere League, what the Wondercolts are all about!” “YEEEEAH! GO WONDERCOLTS!!!!” The entire room explode with girls cheering and clapping, some standing on their feet. Rainbow Dash beams at them, as Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy two small cardboard boxes. They open them and walk around, passing out new practice and game uniforms to everyone. The Practice Uniform is a basic blue jersey with Wondercolt football written on the front, and white shorts. The game uniform has a quartered pattern with alternating Blue and white squares. In the upper left corner and on both shoulders is the school logo. On the right hand corner, Wondercolt FC is inscribed in gold cursive lettering. On the back along the top is the player’s name with the number underneath. The shorts are blue with a white stripe running down the side, with the school logo over the right knee, and Wondercolt FC over the left. As I look at the back of the jersey, I can’t help but smile that I have old number back. When I played chose the number two in representation of the world I came from, and the world I now live in. Now I guess it represents the duality in my head: My own thoughts, and that damn…thing I inherited. I run my fingers along the smooth material, and then I notice something. On the left side of my jersey, there’s a gold horse shoe turned into a “C” for Captain. “Rainbow thought we’d give you yer old Captain’s ‘C’ back. You did glue this team together, after all.” I look up at Applejack as she speaks and give her a big hug.. The trust they have in me after such a short time is incredible. Yes, when I first started it was my mission to help Dash rally the troops. On the field we worked together to give direction to the squad, and steamrolled the competition. Pinning this “C” to my chest means that Rainbow has the faith that I can be that person again. “I think it looks really nice, Sunset Shimmer.” Fluttershy beams. Her kinds words make me blush, and then I get an idea. With a smile I take my game day jersey and slide it over her shoulders. “Well, I think it looks really nice on you.” We embrace to a chorus of “awwws” from our table, before Rainbow Dash speaks. “Alright girls, we don’t have a lot of time before our first game, so let’s get to work. Go get changed, and get out on the field!” Author's Note Sorry for the delay! Part time job and school kinda took over there for awhile, but i have a bit more time to write now! I'm grateful for the mostly positive responses so far. don't forget to read and review! Also quick edit here, the name of the opposing team has been amended from the Griffons to the Blaze //-------------------------------------------------------// 4: Scrimmage //-------------------------------------------------------// 4: Scrimmage Sunrise Chapter 4 After Rainbow Dash’s rallying cry, the real work begins. The team assembles on the half field circle, with me, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash standing on the center line, with the rest the team aligned on the semicircle in front of us. I guess now would be a good time to explain what our team is all about. Our team usually lines up in a 3-5-2-1 Formation, which means we play with three forwards, four midfielders, two defenders, and a goalie to fill out our eleven person squad. The forwards are filled out by Rainbow Dash (#1) on the right, Lightning Dust (#53) on the left, and myself (the afore mentioned #2), in the center. Our game plan calls on us to counterattack on defensive stops to keep the opposing team off balance. Midfielders form the core of our team. From left to, the twins Cloud Chaser (#28) and Flitter (#82), play the outside mid positions. . In the center we have, Applejack (#75, Center Right.) Spitfire (#6, Center), and Applebloom (#5, Center left). The midfielders play zone defense and pick the ball out of passing zones. They work in conjunction with the two defenders: Scootaloo ( left back, #19) and Sibsy, also known as Wildfire (Right back, #22). Working with the midfielders, our defensive scheme allows for two defenders to shadow one player at any time, keeping the opposing offense out of our box.. Our goalie (the one in our formation) has the simplest job of anyone on the field: keep the ball out of the net. That position is manned by, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, “Derpy”. (#10) As I look at her, sitting Indian style with the yellow Goalie jersey on, which she insists must be long sleeve for some reason, and white gloves, and her crossed eyes, you wouldn’t believe that she once went an entire season without allowing a goal past her. Seriously, her eyes give her some super human ability to see two directions at once. Also, no one knows her real name, so we just call her “Derpy” because of her eyes. It doesn’t bother her, she actually answers to it with glee. Along with our eleven starters, we have five reserve players that we can trade in and out at anytime. We have our backup goalie, Carrot Top. Ironically she’s Derpy’s roommate and defacto sister, funny how that works. Our backup position players include Bon Bon, who somehow managed to corral her girlfriend, Lyra, into playing as well. There’s Colgate, the wanna be dentist who’s not a bad defender in her own right. And then there is…ahem…”The Great and Powerful Trixie”. She’s a so called jack of all soccer traits, however she’s a master of none. Traditionally she’s just been a spot filler, but she’s getting better…I think? She only trips two times per game instead of eight the last time I saw. “Alright Girls, we don’t have a lot of time before school starts, so why don’t we have a good ol’ fashioned scrimmage!” Rainbow shouts. Sounds good to me, It’s been two years since I last played. It would be good to stretch my legs. Rainbow divides us up into two teams of eight, and puts us on opposite sides of the field. Joining me on my side is Applejack, her sister Applebloom, Lightning Dust, Golden Harvest in the goal, Bon Bon, Colgate, and…dammit… “Great and Powerful” Trixie. On the other side we have Rainbow Dash, Wildfire, Scootaloo, the twins Cloud Kicker and Flitter, Derpy playing in goal, with Lyra, and Spitfire rounding out the team. “So, how’s this gonna work Dash.” Lightning Dusts asks. “Well, since we have twenty minutes at best before we have to change for class, first to three goals wins. I’ll even give Sunset’s team the ball first to make it fair.” If her smug tone was supposed to piss me off, it worked. “Don’t think you’re giving me that ball out of charity, I’ll make you regret it.” I shout. Rainbow just smirks and tosses me the ball. “Careful Sunset, I think those two years away are messing with your head, because there’s no way your team is gonna beat mine.” Part of me wants to cross the field and stick my cleat right up her boastful ass. But I am a lady of my word, so I make her regret it. I pass the ball to Applejack, and she does the rest. She rares back with her foot and boots the ball high into the air. Everyone watches as it comes back to earth, bounces just inside the 18 yard box surrounding the goal, and over the outstretched hand of Derpy for the game’s first score. “YEE-HAW!” Applejack shouts in glee and jumps for joy. “Where I come from, we call that One-Zip.” Rainbow Dash stomps her feet on the ground as we assemble for the kick-off to restart the game. I take a deep breath and take a look at our situation. Looking at Dash’s team, she’s put all her speedsters forward to overwhelm our Defense, which she damn well might. Dash alone is one of the fastest players in the country, despite our stout defenders. Well, except for Trixie anyway. We’re not going to be able to handle these guys if they come at us full speed. If we’re going to do this we have to keep the pace slow. As Dash kicks off to Sibsy, muscle memory takes over. I start back-pedaling, then slide towards the right. As I do that, Sibsy starts sprinting down the right wing. Applebloom moves to cut her off, so I step forward to block an attempted pass back to Rainbow Dash. A quick look around at our situation has Applejack defending Cloud Chaser, while Bon Bon’s on the other twin. Trixe and Colgate bracket off the twins to prevent them from getting a clear run on goal. And then, Trixie does what she does best, and falls flat on her face. That gives Cloud Chaser a hole to sprint into and receive a pass from sibsy. Colgate moves over to compensate, but not before Cloud Chaser gets off a shot that ricocheted off the top post. “Clear, Clear!” I shout, and turn to go back up field, but Scootaloo pushes forward as Trixie shanks her attempt to kick the ball back into the middle. The purple haired striker takes full advantage and scores. “Woohoo!!!!!” Scootaloo shouts and starts doing her famous chicken dance before giving her teammates a high five. I shake my head, looking right at Trixie as she’s dusting herself off. Applejack throws her hat to the ground and let’s the poor girl hear about it. “Landsakes girl, you got two left feet er something?! You kick like a limp mule!” “Trixie is sorry!” She says. “Dammit Trixie, get your head out of your ass or I swear I’m gonn-“ Crap, there’s that familiar burning sensation in my chest.. “J…just pay more attention okay? There gonna be all over us.” I tell her before trotting back to kick off. “I don’t want to win this game that easily!” Rainbow shouts. I swear, that girl is making it almost impossible for me to keep control. I take a deep breath and place the ball on the ground. “Let’s make them pay, Shimmer..” Lightning Dust says. I nod and kick the ball off. “Just don’t run off too far ahead.” I instruct her and head left. Lightning draws Dash’s attention on the right side. She stops and passes the ball back to me. I collect the pass and start dribbling up the field. The closest defender is Sibsy and she’s five yards off me. She makes no move to pressure me, instead deciding to play the pass as Apple bloom and Applejack head to the wings. Scootaloo starts to move towards me, but Spitfire shouts at her to fall back. Before scoots can get back i blow right past her, with Apple Bloom and Applejack fill the spots in the wings. Countering us, Rainbow Dash and Spitfire plays loose on Lightning Dust, trying to keep her from getting inside the box. She plays to her left hand side, trying to push her into the wing side Applejack is inhabiting On the right, Applebloom is being watched closely by Cloudchaser, with Flitter playing over the top to negate any passing opportunity. That’s when I see a flash of purple in my peripheral vision, then my feet get tangled up. An involuntary yell leaves my throat as i roll on the ground, ending up face down on the grass. I quickly return to my feet and stare down the little runt before setting off again. Bon Bon has the ball now With Spitfire covering. Lightning Dust calls out for the ball, and Bon Bon tries to cross it, but Spitfire steals, and we’re on the chase again. Me and Bon Bon hit the afterburners to try and stay ahead of her, but Sibsy’s way too fast. Bon Bon drops off, leaving me alone with Trixie and Colgate to try and contain her. Making matters worse is Rainbow Dash running down the right wing unopposed. I give up pursuing Sibsy and try to cut off Rainbow Dash. But she jukes me to the inside, leaving me several steps behind. But i get a break as Sibsy has to stop and tries a lob pass. The ball being high makes Dash stop, and gives me a decent shot at defending it. We jump, and the ball bounces off my forehead towards Trixie, who sends the ball up field. I give her thumbs up for the great play, and she smiles in response. Back on the offensive now, we catch Dashie’s team out of position. Applebloom immediately relays the ball to Lightning with a bullet pass, which she knocks down with her chest. She turns and fires a shot , which Derpy knocks down with ease to the left side. Scootaloo collects the rebound and starts to move forward, but Lightning has already closed the distance and won the ball back with a clean tackle. Now in the offensive zone, I cut towards the right side, then start running forward, parallel with the right goal post. Lightning flicks the ball to me, and I knock it down with a knee. Putting the ball on my right foot, I guide it over to my left side and take a wicked shot from just outside the eighteen. I manage to curve it inside the cross bar, skimming Derpy’s outstretch hand for our second goal. “Yes Yes Yes!” I raise my right hand in a fist to the air as I turn to face the girls joining the play then throw a punch in celebration. I hold the follow through pose as I’m swarmed by teammates. “WAAAAAY TO GOOOOO, SUNSET!” I hear Pinkie Pie’s distinctive yell as we trot back up the field to reset, followed by a faint “woohoo!” From Fluttershy. I chuckle and wave at her. She blushes in response and I can’t help but smile as I take position on the semi circle waiting for the kickoff. Looking around at the girls, it’s clear this “scrimmage” is ratcheting up from past scrimmages. Everyone’s huffing and puffing. Some of the less physically fit girls have their hands on the top of their head and breathing deeply to get more oxygen in their bodies. Others are jumping around to stay loose, a look of determination on their faces and they size up one another. As for me, a bit of huffing and puffing, but none worse for wear despite my two year absence. I stretch my arms and shake out my legs to keep the blood flowing as Dashie kicks off to Spitfire starting the next possession. Lightning marks Dash as normal, while I drop back to keep an eye on Sibsy and CloudChaser. AppleJack lines up on the right flank, while Applebloom guards the left, leaving our defenders to secure the middle. CloudChaser dribbles the ball quickly up the field from my right, then darts across the left heading for the corner. I bite and run over to cut her off, and she changes direction again, moving the ball forward through the hole I left open. Bon Bon and Colgate collapse on her though, stopping her forward progress. With her stooped stopped I turn around to block any attempt to pass back to scootaloo, Her only other forward option, her sister Flitter, has been picked up by Colgate on the left flank, with Applebloom helping to lock her down. She spots Dash coming back to her after breaking away from lightning dust, but Bon Bon pokes the ball away with her foot and boots it forward to me. I quick pass to Lightning, but she can’t get to it, and the ball sails past her onto Spitfire’s foot. She rares back and fires off her right foot back down field, towards Rainbow Dash. And with all the jostling around, Rainbow’s in great position to break away. I can’t let that happen. I rush over to her, one eye on Rainbow, the other on the ball. As it glides in I leap and head it straight up. Maybe heading it was a bad idea, definitely feel like my bell got rung, but I shake the cobwebs quickly. The ball’s gone straight up, and Dash settles it down on her left foot and takes off. I chase after on full adrenaline, pacing her step for step. I jump ahead and try to cut her off, but she breaks for the left sideline. I back pedal and keep her to my outside to prevent her from driving in. Rainbow doesn’t see me as a threat though, and comes right at me. She tries to shake me with a bit of fancy foot work, but I stay right with her. She tries to spin to right, flicking the ball a short ways in front of her. I try to get to it but I can’t, and we reset again. She drops back and sizes me up. She moves left, towards the goal and I follow. But she does something unexpected. She steps over the ball with her right foot, then pushes the ball back outside with her left heel. The move is simple, yet effective, and she gets a little bit of space from me, but I make up the difference quickly. I don’t remember ever being able to keep up with Dash before, and I don’t know how I am now, but I refuse to let this egomaniac beat me. My legs are sore, my breathings ragged, . sweat’s running down my forehead, and I love every minute of it. Competition is a high that drugs or sex can never duplicate in my opinion. And in this moment, where it’s just me against Dash, where keeping her out of the goal is my only mission, I feel truly alive. I poke the ball free and collect, and take off up the field, heading for the right sideline, but Dash catches me off guard and slide tackles me. I keep my footing this time and chase back after her. She throws her right arm out to keep me at bay, I try to push into her as we get close to the box. I try to harass her, to slow her down before she gets into the box, but to no avail. So I try to stael one from her book in an act of desperation. I Slide down and hook my foot to try and knock the ball away, but she scoops it on her toes and jumps over my out stretched foot. I can only watch as she lands on her left foot, lines up a shot with her right, and rips one right past Golden to tie it up. As Rainbow celebrates, I lie on my back, watching the sky as I breathe raggedly. The Adrenaline is all gone, and my body is definitely feeling the burn. I lay there for awhile, my arms out to my sides, my right knee up with my left leg down straight as I try to catch my breath. Over my ragged breaths, I swear I hear voices. “That was awesome!” “Man, I didn’t think Sunset could actually play” “I’ve never seen anyone play that hard against Rainbow Dash!” “Baltimare won’t know what hit em!” Those voices aren’t from the team or the two person audience we had at the start. We have an audience. I roll my head to the left and see that no less than half the school, including Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna, has suddenly appeared to watch us scrimmage Judging by the cheers and applause, we put on a great show. “That…was…AWESOME!” I jump as Rainbow suddenly appears over me, holding the ball in her right arm. She smiles from ear to ear and reaches out her left hand. I take it with my right, and she pulls me back to my feet. “I haven….I haven’t….woooo.” I chuckle and start the sentence again. “I haven’t played that hard in awhile.” Dash pats me on my back “I haven’t seen us play that hard in awhile, we’re gonna knock em dead Saturday.” She says “Speaking of we.” I say and stretch my back “Where was the rest of our team? Rainbow points towards the midfield line. I turn my head, and see the other thirteen Lady Wondercolts standing along the line, applauding us. I can’t fight the grin forming on my lips. I grab Rainbow’s hand and raise both in the air, bringing the assembled crowd to their feet in applause. “Where did this audience come from?” Rainbow asks. “How should I know? Just enjoy this moment.” Author's Note I LIIIIIIIIIVE! And I come bearing gifts on this break of thanksgiving. Sunrise: Chapter 6 “Tell me again how you came to deface school property THIS time, Miss Shimmer.” “I saw a spider, Nurse Redheart.” “A spider?” “It was a big spider, ma’am.” “I see…Well you’re not the only one with arachnophobia in this school. Just try not to take out your fear on anymore mirrors.” “Y…yes, ma’am.” Nurse Redheart finished bandaging my bruised hand and gave me a pat on the shoulder. “You’re good to go, Miss Shimmer. It shouldn’t be too much of a problem in tomorrow’s game. But I would avoid riding your motorcycle to school for at least a week.” No motorcycle for a week?! I’d rather she just lobbed off my hand. But then again, it could have been worse. I thank the nurse and gather up my jacket. Putting it on requires me to turn to the right. And that’s when I hear Miss Redheart gasp. “Good heavens, I see why you punched the mirror now! That bite looks serious.” Bite? What the hell is she….ohh buck. When me and Fluttershy were about to knock boots on the gym bleachers, I knew she was attacking the hell out of my neck with her teeth. But I had no idea she’d left a hickey on my neck. “Oh Yeah…bite…” I chuckle nervously.” “It looks pretty bad.” Nurse Redheart leans into examine it. “Maybe I should keep you here for the rest of the day, just for observation?” She reaches out to touch my neck but I recoil from her touch. “It’s fine! Really! I don’t think it was poisonous...” I shuffle towards the door and hold my collar up against my neck. “Are you sure? Your cheeks are pretty red. You might be coming down with a fever.” They’re not red from what you think, Miss Redheart...I shake my head and hold my jacket tight. “Well, if anything happens, don’t you hesitate to come back and see me.” Thank goodness. I thank Miss Redheart for her help and scoop up my book bag before making a quick getaway out of the nurse’s office. Outside the door, I spot the girls hanging out in the hallway. Rarity’s sitting against the left hand wall, nose deep into some fashion mag. Applejack stands next to her in typical cowgirl style: Her hat’s pulled down over her eyes, left boot resting up against the wall, and her arms crossed against her chest. On the opposite wall, Pinkie Pie shivers nervously while Rainbow Dash leans towards her with a hand on her shoulder. Pinkie must be into some sort of drama queen routine again over my injury. In the center of the room, I see Fluttershy pacing up and down the hallway. She had my gym bag slung over her shoulder, and was gripping the strap hard with her right hand. Despite them all having classes around this time, they actually stayed to wait around for me. I can’t believe it. Maybe actually having friends will slowly change my outlook on life. I hike my bag over my shoulder and walk towards them. “Waiting long?” “Sunset!” Fluttershy glomps me almost as soon as I reach them. Her lunge catches me off guard and knocks me against the wall, right into my bad hand. I hiss in pain, making her jump back. “I’m so sorry Sunset!” She whimpers and gently rubs my bandaged hand. I just chuckle and hold her in my left arm. “It’s fine Shy, don’t worry.” I kiss her gently and she leans against me. “What happened in the bathroom that made you so angry, Sunset?” Applejack asks after pushing herself from the wall. “Umm...” Suddenly my head starts to hurt, and the images come flooding back: Fluttershy, dead by my hands. Our school transformed into a burned out wreck, the bodies of my other friends strewn around the courtyard lawn. And punctuating it all, the cruel laughter of that…thing. I feel a cold shiver run down my spine, and I hold Fluttershy tightly and whimper. “Uhh…Sunset...What’s wrong sugar?” “Nothing.” I look away from Applejack as the visions fade. “Sunset, don’t lie to us. We’re your friends. Tell us what’s wrong and maybe we can help you.” What am I supposed to tell her? That I saw fucking “Sunset Satan” in the bathroom mirror? That she’s feeding off my emotions in preparation to slaughter everyone? How the fuck am I supposed to tell them this? I shake my head. “Later.” I can’t meet anyone’s eyes. “Sunset…” I hear Rarity of all people speak up. “Whatever it is, we can help you.” “You can’t help me with this…. No one can.” I let go of Fluttershy and turn to walk away. “Sunset?!” she calls after me. I just start running. I don’t know where. Just any place away from them. Away from their faces so I don’t I have to remember the sound of their screams from the vision. Tears begin streaming down my cheeks. I hit a door, and go right through it. I feel the warmth of the afternoon sun. By the time I stop and fall to my knees, I find myself on the field where two days ago I thought my life was improving for the better. Now it feels like everything I’ve struggled to build is going to be burned away like kindling. I pound my hands into the dirt and wail like a newborn baby. “Sunset Shimmer? Are you okay?” That voice... “Sunset? Sunset Shimmer” That better not be who the fuck I think it is. I wipe my eyes and turn around. And wouldn’t you know it… the purple skin…the schoolgirl outfit…the pink and dark purple streak in her hair, that clueless fucking look on her face. It is her. The famous “Twilight Sparkle”. There are no words exchanged. No joyful greetings or reverence of her fucking social status. In my mind I don’t see the girl that saved my life. I see the monster that locked me in a living hell. Storming up to her, I pay my “respects” to the dear princess the way I’ve dreamed it since this hell began by balling up my good hand into a fist, cocking back, and unloading every ounce of pent up angst and rage in the form of my fist across her jaw. She didn’t even see it coming. The look of shock on her face said it all as she dropped to the ground. She holds her quickly swelling cheek as she stares up at me. “What type of hello is that?!” She shouts. “All of this is your fault!” I shriek and grab her by the scruff of her collar and pull her to her feet. I’m about to sock her another one but she pushes me away. “What are you talking about?! I just got here to check on you and you punched me in the face!” “And what were you expecting ‘Princess’?! I was just going to kneel before your royal greatness?! Six fucking weeks ago you THOUGHT you could show up, use magic in a world you don’t understand, purge evil from someone you don’t even know, and think everything would be fine!” “Well…isn’t…it?” She braces this time as she sees my fist ball up, but I relent this time. “NO! Because guess what, Sparklebitch?! You need all six elements to properly destroy an evil element from someone’s body. You HAD one, and it wasn’t even fully charged because you were sharing said power with the goddamn demon that was wearing it!” I throw my book bag at her, which she dodges. “So now I’m left with an evil demon whispering in my head, and oh by the way, it’s getting stronger every time I feel hate and rage!” “Well then shouldn’t you calm down—“ “ALL BECAUSE OF YOU!!” I ignore her interruption. “Because you and your precious princess didn’t consider the fact that one little crown wouldn’t be enough, you left the job unfinished and now I’m STUCK with this thing in my head!” “My job was just to retrieve the crown, not fight some supernatural demon made of YOUR dark side!” “Well maybe if your precious Celestia had taught you real magic instead of how to preen her wings, maybe you’d know to plan for every possibility, Sparklebitch!” That got her riled up. She’s standing in my face now. “Take. That. Back!” “Awww, did I hurt the little suck up’s feelings?” I spit in her face and prepare for her reaction. I’m hoping she hits me. I’m really hoping she loses it and steps into my territory. Six weeks ago we stood like this, only that time it was in the hallway. Too many witnesses; my chance to get the crown would have been in jeopardy. This time, there’s no such thing stopping me from beating this whelp into submission. But before I can exact my vengeance, a pair of blue hands pushes us apart, and then a lasso wraps around my waist and pulls me back. I look behind me, and there’s Applejack reeling me in. Once I hustle to my feet I see the rest of her girls standing around us. “Sunset, what in the hell has gotten into you?!” Applejack steps in front of me as I try to rush forward, blocking my path with her body. “Why are you and Twilight about to have a throwdown on the soccer field?!” I roar and throw her to the side. “Because that bitch ruined my life! She’s the reason my last six weeks have been a nightmare!” “You did that yourself, Sunset when you stole my crown!” She screams and tries to jump over Rainbow Dash. Rainbow keeps her rooted to the ground, and even Rarity is trying to keep her calm. I start to get leverage on Applejack, and begin to run towards Twilight. Suddenly I’m tripped off my feet and pinned to the ground, with my bad hand wrenched behind my back. Crying out in pain, I struggle to get free from my captor. “Sunset…I’m warning you!” Applejack twists my arm and I grit my teeth. Damn, this farmgirl’s strong. “I don’t wanna do it, but I WILL break your arm if you keep at it!” The last thing I need is a broken limb, so I relent. Applejack pulls me up and I dust myself off as Fluttershy hugs me tight, in tears. I hold her and whisper “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry” and stroke her soft pink hair. Seeing that I’ve calmed down, Rainbow Dash lets Twilight go. She brushes herself off and approaches me with her same dumbfounded look on her face. “Sunset...I’m sorry…But even if I HAD known about the side effect, I wouldn’t have been able to help you! The portal was about to close, and at the time, we had no idea how to open the portal again once it closed. If I hadn’t gone back, I wouldn’t have been able to tell the Princess what happened here or come back to help you!” “Help her with…what, exactly?” Rainbow Dash asks. Twilight shakes her head, and then gazes over at me. Guess the bitch can’t take the fact she fucked up. I sigh and step in to explain. “The demon that I transformed into didn’t die. It just gave my body back. The past six weeks, I’ve been fighting off the demon while it grows stronger off my anger and hate. AS YOU CAN SEE, I can’t control myself enough to keep it down.” Everyone stops and just looks at me. Their jaws drop. Fluttershy can’t even look at me. To be honest, I can’t blame her. I wouldn’t blame any of them if they turned their back on me now. I’m a goddamn monster waiting to happen. And the longer I stay near them, the less time it takes before my “alter ego” rears its ugly head and exterminates them. “I should have never tried to get back with you girls.” I mumble. Turning away, I start to walk towards the parking lot. “Where are you going?!” The Sparklebitch screams. “Somewhere…” I pick up my pace. “You can’t just leave after all this, Sunset!” Rainbow Dash tries to reason. Despite me having a lead on her, she’s already walking step for step next to me. “If I stay, I’m just going to end up killing all of you.” I get ready to run but then someone grabs my arm. When I spin around, I see Fluttershy with tears streaming down her face. “You can’t leave now!” Fluttershy sobs. How could I be so stupid? I just started a relationship with her, now I’m about to run off and hide somewhere. I’d leave her behind, a sobbing and broken girl. With tears running down my own cheeks, I wrap my arms around her and hold her tight. Applejack puts her arm on my right shoulder. “Come on sugar, you don’t want to upset Fluttershy now do ya? It’s obvious she thinks the world of you, and so do I.” Rarity wraps her arms around me next and joins the embrace. “I know I’ve been cruel to you Sunset…and I’m sorry. I can’t let you just run away when you need us now, darling.” Rainbow Dash grabs my left shoulder and grins. “Do you think we’d really let you give up after all the progress you’ve made?” Pinkie Pie finishes the impromptu group hug and we almost fall to ground.. “Please stay Sunset, we’ll help you beat it!” I can’t believe it. I just told them that the demon they barely defeated is going to come back and not only are they going to stay with me, they’re going to help me fight it. Is this a dream? It must be. There’s no way friends like this actually exist in this world. Friendship’s not supposed to exist here. But maybe this is what makes them different. This is what makes them true friends. I break free from them and take a few steps forward, then turn around with the setting sun to my back. With a smile on my face I open my arms and they pounce on me at once. Unable to hold my balance, we all tumble to the ground with a thud. We share a laugh then look up as Twilight approaches us. “Your friends want to help Sunset Shimmer, and so do I. Please, stay with us? I promise we’ll find a way to help you.” I wipe my eyes clean and stare up at her. “Okay…I’ll stay.” Author's Note The feels on the bus go round and round! Seriously though, this was probably the chapter I had the most fun writing. Me and Star got a big kick out of editing this one. So enjoy! And as always, Read and Review!...please? I'll give you cookies...and milk... //-------------------------------------------------------// 7: An interview with Sunset. //-------------------------------------------------------// 7: An interview with Sunset. Sunrise Chapter 7 After our little episode on the field, no one felt like going to class. So we did what all decent high School kids do when we get bored. Skip and go to the Shake shop!! Okay it sounds like something from this world’s 1960s, but these aren’t Fillydelphians we’re talking about here. In Canterlot, we have standards! Or that’s what Rarity told me when we first met. Personally I’ve never been a fan of this world’s sweets. All of the sugar they pack into their snacks goes right to my head. But I don’t mind hanging out here from time to time. I find myself seated with the girls at their usual table near the counter. Instead of the usual chit-chat, there’s a awkward hush over the table after what was just happened. I sit on the couch with a sleeping Fluttershy and find myself playing with her hair with one hand and holding one of her anti animal abuse pamphlets gingerly in my other. The pamphlet itself doesn't have any real important information for me, but the soothing effect of running my fingers through her long pink hair is calming me down. It’s therapeutic to me for some reason. Sitting at the head of the table is Rarity in one of the big comfy chairs. She’s curled up inside, laying her head against the side of it while flipping through a magazine. I can’t tell if she’s dozing or just bored. Sitting next to me and Fluttershy on the other end of the couch is Twilight Sparkle, nose deep in a book she brought with her. In front of us is Rainbow Dash, who apparently doesn’t know what table manners is either, because she’s leaning back in her chair, pushing back and forth with her feet against the chair legs while drinking a Banana smoothie. And at the foot of the table sits Applejack, who apparently doesn’t know how to use a chair. She sits the opposite way in the chair, with her arms slung over the back, and her legs stretched out in front of her. I decide to break the ice. “So, Mrs Conquering Hero, how does it feel being the savior of two worlds?" I ask Twilight. She just rolls her eyes."If you think I took any joy in what I did, I didn't. I was just doing my job." And she goes back to her book. But I'm not done plucking her strings. "So, did you pen your own tales when you got back about your little trip? Wait, they don't give book deals for half finished jobs do they?" She shoots me a real mean look that time. I just chuckle and keep fiddling with Fluttershy's hair. "No. They do write books about torn romances though." “Ouch, good one, brat.” I mumble to myself and scan the room. "Out of curiosity, Sunset,” Applejack speaks up. “What did happen with Flash Sentry anyway? You two just seemed destined to make it." Why must Applejack open old wounds? That relationship, while brief, was the one thing that kept me from turning into ...well...what I became. "Must all our conversations be about me?" I huff. Rarity tries to make me see reason."Sunset, darling, you mustn't sweep things like this under the rug. Decoding your mistakes with Flash Sentry might very well be the key to not making the same mistakes in your relationship with Fluttershy." “Fine, you might be right, but why would I want to talk about it with HER here?” I motion with my eyes towards Twilight. “If it’s that important for me NOT to hear, I’ll just keep reading.” She deadpans and flips a page. “I’d much rather you not be here when I go over my past love life, thank you very much.” I quip. “Sunset...if your problem is as dire as you say, then Twilight is going to be here for quite awhile. You have to get used to having her around when we discuss things if the two of you are ever going to become friends.” Rarity says. And just like that, my urge to punch has returned. “And who says I want HER to be my friend?!" “Because I’m the only one that can pull your flank out of this mess.” The runt pipes up. “Oh, so the whelp responsible for putting me in this mess thinks she can help me?” I respond. A scowl forms on her face and she puts down her book. She looks at me and opens her mouth to speak. Suddenly, Pinkie Pie decides to pay attention again. “Look, we can argue about it all day, or you can just tell us and be done with it!” Rainbow Dash says, her impatience getting the better of her again. “Fine, gather around then, and I’ll tell you. And while we’re at it, if you have any OTHER questions pertaining to my past, get them out NOW. Because I’m not repeating myself.” Rarity puts her magazine away and leans forward in her chair as if she's listening with baited breath for a tragic tale of love and lost! Okay, my Rarity impression needs work but you get my point. Rainbow Dash just rolls her eyes and keeps drinking her smoothie, while Applejack scoots up to the table. The bookworm doesn’t pay me any attention at first. Whatever, I don’t care if she listens or not. With a sigh, I begin. “It was three years ago, just after I met you girls. I was still struggling to fit in seeing as I was still getting used to the human world. Not having magic was really starting to suck at this point. And yes, Twilight, I ran into the door with my face too.” Rarity snickers, Twilight just shakes her head. “Anyway, so I was doing my usual skip routine because Mrs. Cheerilee’s class sucks...” “You take that back!” Apparently that pisses her off “Look, all I’m saying is that people that nice usually make me sick.” I look down at my sleeping beauty and smile “Usually. Now can I get back to my story?” Applejack nods. “Continue.” “Thank you. Now as I was saying, I was skipping Miss Cheerilee’s class and wandering the halls and that’s where I saw him. Bronze skin, electric blue hair, that confident smile. He was the coolest guy in the school. Mr. Flash Sentry. He was the only person I found somewhat attractive since I’d been there, and I was going to make him mine.” “Alright, hold on a minute-” Applejack pipes up again. I swear if I this bitch interrupts me one more time...I swear, just one more time. “What do you want, cowgirl?!” “If you had eyes for Flash Sentry, how did you all of a sudden switch to ruttin’ around with Fluttershy in our gym?” “Wait, you were WHAT?!” Twilight actually stops her reading book and looks in my direction, finally realizing that Fluttershy was tucked under my arm. “ That’s none of your fucking business, runt.” I roll my eyes at the human reader’s digest to my left and answer Applejack’s question. “I come from a society where the female to male ratio is 5 to 1 at best, there’s people of all orientations back home.” “I understand that, at least” Twilight says. “But you...and FLUTTERSHY?!” Twilight nods in agreement “Yes yes, I know. It’s unexpected. We went over this earlier. Now can I finish my goddamn story?!” Applejack nods her head and I continue. “Now, I was going to make him mine. Since, like our fair Twilight over there, I spent more time with books than relationships, so I didn’t really know what ‘taking it slow’ meant.” You ever see that look of shock on someone’s face right after they’ve realized something big? That’s exactly the face Rarity has right now as she asks me a question. “Sunset...what did you...do, exactly?” “Well, Fashion Bug…” This time Twilight interrupts. “Wait, do you have nicknames for everyone?!” And that was one question too far. “Yes, Sparklebitch, I do!” The entire table goes quiet. Except for Rainbow Dash. Her just snicker adds to Twilight’s discomfort. “Aww, is wittle Twiwilight upset” I add in with the most childish voice I can make. She looks like she wants to kill me, but that’ll teach her to interrupt my story again. With all the commotion, Fluttershy’s aqua colored eyes flicker open and stare up at me “What’s with all the noise?” She asks through a yawn. “Just laughing about nicknames, hun.” She nods and then climbs into my lap. I peck her lips, drawing awws from everyone but Twilight, who’s buried her head back in her book. “Now, if there are no more interruptions, what I did was steel my courage, took a deep breath, walked right up to him and….politely asked him to fuck me like a mare in heat.” “Oh...my…” Fluttershy buried her face into my shoulder. The rest of our company exhibits varying degrees of surprise.. Rainbow Dash falls back out of her chair laughing. Applejack blushes hard and pulls her hat down over eyes. Twilight is completely disgusted, she just buries her entire face in her book and shakes her head even harder at me. And Rarity, well she just chuckles. “Could you be anymore forward darling?” “Yes, actually, but that’s later.” “Wait wait wait!” Rainbow Dash, finally getting back to her seat, cuts me off. “You mean you saw Flash for all of ten seconds and wanted to screw him?!” I nod. “What can I say, subtlety is not my thing.” “This explains what we saw in the gym.” Applejack says. “Actually…” Fluttershy mumbles “That...was me…” At least she admits it. The table falls into stunned silence again. Twilight actually puts her book down. This time, no one can find the words to describe the fact that Fluttershy just admitted to making a move on me. I just give her cheek a nuzzle and cup her bottom with my hand. She responds by giving a little wiggle against my hand and a little wink. I give her a grin and a gentle squeeze. Not to draw a reaction, but just enough to let her know I got her message. With no interruptions this time, I can get back on with my tale. “So, after he picked his jaw up from the table, I took him somewhere secluded and had a little fun. That was a glorious free period. We definitely tested the stability of those bleachers, especially when I... .” “Uhh, Sunset, sugar…” Applejack, clearing having enough of this part of my story, taps out. “Can you NOT give us the play by play of you and Flash knocking boots…please?” And I thought Twilight was sheltered. “Don’t worry, I’ll spare you the details. Just know that me and him made magic that day, and many days after.” “So it wasn’t much a relationship...more of a… “ Rarity starts. “A screw fest, yes…” I finish for her. “What’s a screwfest?!” The bubbly voice of Pinkie Pie breaks up the moment as she returns with a milkshake in each hand. Surprisingly I’m feeling uneasy on filling PInkie in on the conversation. Or maybe it’s just in general, since my new beau is practically sitting on my lap right now. I’ve never found myself to be self conscious like this. What is Fluttershy doing to me? “There you are Pinkie Pie!” Dash beams as Pinkie takes a seat next to her “Sunset was talking about her relationship with Flash.” “Oooooh, I like stories!” She giggles. “But, should we really be talking about this with FLUTTERSHY here?” The party favor has a point. “I’m not offended Pinkie...” Fluttershy says in her soft voice. “I know that Sunset and Flash were a thing before, but talking about where they went wrong is the first step to building a more lasting relationship with me.” ”Aww Fluttershy, that’s sweet.” Twilight remarks. “So, Sunset...I can imagine how this came to a halt.” Rarity claims. “Yes, and no...You see… around the time I hooked up with Flash was the same time I had started terrorizing the school. For a while, he didn’t care. Flash wasn’t exactly the most popular of the rockers. When I met him he was just getting his feet wet in the whole guitarist thing. But, having the darling new girl of the school smoking his pole gave him some street cred.” Twilight , clearly lost, makes an inquiry. “Smoking his...what?” The look Rarity gives her is just amazing. It’s like a mix of being dumbfounded, disgusted, and creeped out all at the same time. Pinkie Pie just shakes her head, as Rainbow gives the international symbol for “you don’t want to know” by crossing her arms back and forth in an x pattern. Applejack is just mortified. She lays her head on the chair she’s sitting on. I can imagine she’s wishing this conversation would end. I offer to help her out. “You see, Princess, when you’re dating a stallion, to relate it to back home, it requires you to learn a certain set of skills. A certain set of skills involving...oral...traits…” “Like public speaking?!” She is just precious. “No Twilight, NOT like public speaking. More like...hmm, how do I say this…” “She’s talking about sucking his pecker!” Applejack shouts. If it wasn’t for all the noise around the room would have probably come to a screeching halt. “His...pecker?!” She thinks about it for a second. “Like a popsicle!” Pinkie says. Then I watch as the lightbulb pops in Twilight’s head, and her mouth forms a perfect O as she leans back from me in horror. “Now do you get it?” I smirk. She doesn’t say anything to me, she just sort of shivers there as she imagines it. Then she blushes and looks away. “I’m surprised the Princess didn’t teach you that one.” I jab. Twilight’s blush fades and the scowl she’s been giving me returns. “Now, to summarize. Me, plus Flash, minus clothes, equals popularity for us both. And things were good right until the time I started going all power hungry bitch. He didn’t like it, he said that I was becoming ‘more trouble than I’m worth.’ I just told him to shut up and enjoy the ride.” “So did your…’skills’ keep him line?” Rarity asks. I lean back against the back of the couch and grin. “Oh it did...for awhile.” Feeling uneasy, I try to end this quickly. “But as our relationship deteriorated, so did my behavior. Then came the time when I started screwing around with you guys. That was the nail in the coffin for me and flash. He dumped me, hard. And to top it all off, he did it online instead of saying it to my face.” I snort. “Which sucks, he was a good lay too.” “Out of curiousity, how good?” Rarity questions. “Shouldn’t you know? You were fucking him behind my back.” I shoot back at her. “Ooooooooooooooooohhhh!” Pinkie Pie puts her hand over her mouth and leans back. “Nonsense, I did no such thing, honest!” Rarity quickly back pedals. “Anything that happened between me and Flash was the concoction of that venomous Rumor Mill and her web of lies!” “Calm down Fashion Bug, I’m not accusing you of anything. I know you weren’t fucking him. Weren’t you going after Blueblood at the time?” Rarity immediately scowled “Yes, I was, but he turned out to be completely and utterly underwhelming.” “And just how underwhelming we talking about?” Rarity immediately puts her hands up with 4 inches of space between them. “Ouch.” I chuckle as I enjoy seeing the uncomfortableness in the others. “He had all the staying power of a newborn gnat.” Rarity lays her head against the left shoulder cushion of the chair. “Hey, I got news for you.” I put my hands up with a difference of eight inches between them. Rarity gasps. “What the hay are they talking about?!” Twilight asks. “Twilight, this is one time where you don’t want to know.” Applejack tosses her hat on the table, completely done with the conversation. “What did this trip down memory lane accomplish anyhow?” “Because I’ve figured out why everything went bad with Flash. Back then I wasn’t a nice person. I didn’t care about feelings. I didn’t care about friends. I only cared about taking what I needed from people...for instance, a good fuck.” “So, have you decided what you’re going to change?” Rarity asks. I look down at Fluttershy and hug her close. “I’m going to be more receptive to feelings from now on. I’m going to do my best to listen to my new partner’s concerns, and make sure to take care of HER needs, just as much as my own.” “sunset…” Fluttershy beams. I cup her cheek carefully with my bandaged hand, and pull her up into a sensual kiss. The girls smile. Pinkie Pie winds up, and jumps for joy like she’s shot out of a cannon. “You guys are sooooooo cute!” Everyone shares a laugh. I hold Fluttershy close and snuggle against her. She runs her right hand along my side and I can’t help but let out a happy sigh as we relax on the couch. “You said we could ask any question we wanted right?” Rainbow asks after finishing off her smoothie. Dammit, I forgot about this part. But a promise is a promise. I nod. “Yes, I did. the floor is now open to you all. Ask away.” Rainbow asks first. “Just how long have you been here, in our world, I mean?” Predictable. “That, is a tough question.” I lean forward slightly. “You already know I’ve been at your school about three years now. But I’ve actually been in your world…” Damn, just how long has it been? It’s hard to keep track, with the months having different names here. “I don’t know, seven, eight years maybe?” Pinkie Pie gasps. “THAT LONG?!” I nod. "Longer than that, maybe. It’s been a long time since I gave the Princess the heave-ho.” Fluttershy looks up at me astonished. “So..what have you been doing all this time?” Twilight asks. “ You couldn’t possibly support yourself.” “Well, for awhile, it was hell.” I sigh. “I pretty much drifted from town to town, taking whatever job I could to get a few bucks to eat before people started asking questions. I spent a lot of time sleeping in dirty hotels. Then, I made a discovery. This world holds things like gems in high regard. And the bigger the gem, the bigger the profit. So after my first thirty moons passed, I snuck back through the portal and set up deals with a few gem finders: for a nominal “finders fee”, I’d make them filthy rich.” “You were selling gems from Equestria here?!” Twilight shouted, drawing some attention. She blushed nervously and lowered her voice before speaking again. “Do you know how dangerous that could have been? You had no idea how the gems would react to coming through the portal!” “Don’t get your panties in a wad, Sparklebitch.” I hear assorted snickering, and Twilight growls in anger. “The gems I was dealing with had no effect other than they were pretty. So when I came through the portal with them, they were harmless. More importantly, my plan worked. The size alone of the gems back home in this world made me a pretty penny. Since I had saddlebags full of them, I could trade each bag for a quarter of a million per.” “That...is….AMAZING!” Rarity squeals. “That is so cool! You’re like an otherworldy gem merchant or something!” Pinkie says. “So that explains all of those fancy doo-dads you have.” Applejack says. “You’re quite right Cowgirl.” I pat Fluttershy’s side and beam. “Even with the 50/50 split of the profit, I still had more than enough money to pay for an upscale condo downtown, some decent clothes, and the thirty thousand dollar race bike I ride to school every morning." "If you have all of this now why do you even bother GOING to school?" Twilight asks. "Because I'm bored. That's why." "BORED?! That’s no reason I've ever heard for going to school!" Pinkie Pie laughs. Twilight Sparkle, on the other hand, is not so enthused. "You mean with all the limitless knowledge you could have had, your’re only going to school BECAUSE YOU'RE BORED?!" This outburst does draw attention to our table. "Will you keep your voice down?!" I scold her. "I said I'd tell you my past. I didn't say you had to agree with my choices." "So you just went to a high school, made ponies-" "People," Dash corrects her. "Sorry, people's lives hell, and stole my crown out of boredom?!" "I SAID I went to school because I was bored! I never said ANYTHING about why I stole your damn crown!" Another uncomfortable silence descends over the table. Little Miss Bitch over there is stewing in her anger, while everyone else tries to process what I just said. "ummm...sunset?" Fluttershy's soft voice breaks the calm. "h...how old are you?" "Combined? Old enough to have seen two and half tons worth of shit.” I reply dryly. "That must be REALLY OLD." Pinkie Pie says. “You could say that.” I chuckle. “But Here? About 17. At least, that's how old I look." "Ponies seem to advance through the stages of maturity faster than you all, Pinkie Pie. But it’s possible that both of us could be much older than we appear." Twilight finally pitches in thoughtfully. "They're called humans by the way," I quip. "Oh, thank you Sunset." She replies. "I have another question. Why did you REALLY steal my crown?" Shit...saw that coming. "None of your damn business." “Oh, come on Sunset.” Applejack gives the table a light slap with her fist. “You said we could ask any question we want and you’d answer it, so answer her question.” Applejack says. “i heard you while i was sleeping hun.” Dammit Fluttershy, must you cosign? You know I can’t argue with you. So I suck my teeth and then look at Twilight. “At first, I was just going to go back and steal what was promised to me in the first place. But then I stumbled upon something.” “And that is…?” Twilight prods me along. “Throughout my readings on human kind I found that the outbreaks of war and violence that plague this race used to follow a cycle. An evil ruler or group would appear. They would kill steal and destroy everything they touched, and just when it seemed like everything was lost, a unified front would engage the aggressor and drive them back to the sea. These alliances..this...unity, brought warriors and governments together to defeat even the strongest of foes. But lately, this world has fallen into a distinct lack of unification, and because of it it’s conflicts spiral out of control. So I was going to prove to the “Princess” that I didn’t need her tutelage to be successful. I was going to bring this world’s unity back. But first I needed my magic.” “But magic doesn’t exist here silly!” Pinkie giggles. “It did...once, but that was a long time ago. As people started growing further and further apart, their ability to use magic waned...until it completely disappeared. I thought that with Twilight’s crown, I could get my power back. But...” I shudder, thinking back on that night at the fall formal. “I was too far down the wrong path.”The shock and pain came flooding back, and I buried my face in my hands. Fluttershy hugs me tight as I begin to cry. Thinking quickly, Rarity changes the subject.“Maybe we should change the subject from Sunset’s history and discuss other matters… Like for instance, where will you be staying, Twilight?” “Oh, well….” Twilight muses over the thought. “I don’t know..really. I was planning to stay in the school Library again.” Rarity dismisses the thought. “Out of the question! You shall stay with one of us as our guest of honor! Now, I would offer my home to you but...between my sister and my parents, my house is pretty full. ” "Well Sunset has plenty o' space-" If Fluttershy wasn’t in my lap, I would have heel kicked the cowgirl right in her fucking mouth. Twilight Sparkle?! In MY house?! I’m barely tolerating her as it is. "No fucking way." "But you don't live with anyone-" she tries to reason. "No." "You're tellin' me that with all yer fancy clothes and bike, ya can;t afford to house Twilight for awhile?" “AJ, we met for less than ten seconds and I punched her in the face!” “Then use this as a chance to put your differences aside, darling.” Rarity adds her two cents in. “It’ll be like a sleepover.” Pinkie claps. “Oh, that’s it! Let’s throw a welcome back party for Twilight at Sunset Shimmer’s house!” “NOW WAIT JUST A DAMN MINUTE!” “that sounds like a wonderful idea, can we do it sunset? can we?!” Dammit to hell…I have a good enough argument for all of them. I could live with telling each and everyone of them to fuck off, that Bitchlight Sparklecunt wasn’t getting anywhere NEAR my house, let alone staying in my guest room or having a party. But not her...not my darling Fluttershy...I just can’t bring myself to deny my darling. I sigh. “Fine.” I mumble. “Ohh, this will be a perfect prelude to tomorrow’s match” Rarity squeals. “Match?” Twilight asks. Rainbow grins. “The lady Wondercolts are taking on the Baltimare Blaze tomorrow for their first game, and Sunset, Applejack, and I are all playing in it!” “Rainbow Dash, aren’t you looking for more players?” Rarity asks “Twilight, how would you like to be a Substitute-!” “AHEM!” I jam my thumb towards Rainbow Dash, the team captain and coach. Rainbow shakes her head. “Seriously? We have enough problems as it is with Trixie. No offense Twilight, but you’re not an athlete.” Rarity blinks, apparently shocked at our denial “Or...we could make room in our cheering section for you.” She says quietly. “That sounds like fun, this football sounds like an excellent subject for my report to Princess Celesti-” “Don’t. You. Fucking. Say. That. NAME!” my roar makes Fluttershy jump out of my lap. “Umm, the Princess.” Twilight stutters out. I smirk. Looks like I scared Celestia’s new toy. “Better.” So I’m hosting a pre game slumber party at my house with my mortal enemy and our mutual friends. Great. But on the bright side, seeing Fluttershy in nothing but her nightwear...is a helluva consolation prize. Author's Note And here you have it, folks. This chapter is officially the story all about how Sunset’s life got flipped, turned upside down. So the Mane Six sit right there as she tells them the story of how...she moved to Canterlot. Take it from me, The Editor: Tornado Dash had way too much fun writing some of the innuendo in this chapter. --Star Blaze //-------------------------------------------------------// 8: Pre-game party (part 1) //-------------------------------------------------------// 8: Pre-game party (part 1) Sunrise Chapter 8 Have you ever had the displeasure of riding a motorcycle with a bum hand? It’s not a pleasant experience. It’s not that I have low tolerance to pain, seeing as I’ve been withstanding the excruciating pain of a demon torturing my insides. Sharp, sudden pain I can deal with. It’s the dull, lingering pain I feel coupled with the jolt from every bump in the road that makes me grimace with every mile. After half an hour of torment, I finally arrive at the underground garage for my condo building downtown. After storing the bike, I grab my gear and head to the door, fishing out my keycard as I go. I swipe my card and jump in the elevator, hitting the button for the 10th floor. I lean against the back wall of the elevator as it slowly ascends the floors and think back on the events of today. To say it was a roller coaster of emotions, was an understatement. I went from basking in my reclaimed popularity and gaining one smoking hot girlfriend, to nearly getting into an Alpha-bitch smackdown with Rarity and having a visit from my “friendly” cohabitant in my head and punching that runt Twilight Sparkle in her smug prick face. Okay, it wasn’t a smug prick face. Celestia that was satisfying...Celestia...fuck why did I have to remember that name at a time like this. “That bitch.” I mutter to myself. I was stronger than any unicorn in my class. I was doing advanced magic when I was a filly! Celestia hand picked me to be her student, her right hoof mare, so to speak. And then out of the blue she says I’m not worthy, that I’m too dangerous? Too much of a threat?! To whom?! The country I was born in?! The people I would give my life for?! If I was such a threat, then why did she let me find the portal, why did she allow me to become curious?! And why, oh why did she strip my title just because I wanted to visit a new fucking world?! DAMMIT WHY?! I scream and punch the wall, hard, with my good hand this time, and press my forehead against the glass near my fist. I sob quietly to myself. That damn Celestia…Why did I have to meet her? The elevator doors stop on the tenth floor and pops open. I stop at the third door on the left: Room 5-B. I slide the key in the door lock and walk in. Home sweet home. My place is a two bed, one bath condo with 3000 sqft. of space. From the entrance hall, to the left is my kitchen, with brand new appliances and stained wood cabinets, marble countertops etc. From there you have the main living room in front, and a decked out dining room to the right. Restless, I toss my things on the floor and strip off my riding jacket before flopping on the couch with a dejected sigh. I reach down with my left hand and flick on the TV. The screen flickers on to “High School Premiere Tonight”, a television show dedicated to the High School Premiere League, the football league Canterlot High affiliates itself with. I’ve arrived home just in time for their annual season premier special, where they discuss all the teams participating in the upcoming season. No surprise, they’re talking about The Canterlot Lady Wondercolts, known in the league as Wondercolt FC. “The biggest news of the upcoming season has to be Center Forward Sunset Shimmer, returning to Wondercolt FC for her Senior Season. Holy Shit, I wasn’t expecting this. I sit up on the couch and turn up the volume. In her freshman year, Sunset announced her presence with a league record 45 assists to go with 15 goals as she anchored a line with speedsters Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust. What made her debut season so remarkable, is that Sunset had no documented experience with football before attending Wondercolt FC. Heh, I remember that circus when they were trying to figure up my past. Wonder what they would say if they knew I spent most of my life as a magical pony serving under a bitch of a so called ruler. I stretch out the couch as the female voice drones on. “The return of Sunset Shimmer may be just what the doctor ordered for a struggling Wondercolt FC club that has staved off demotion in each of the past two years. They start their campaign with a grudge match against Baltimare Blaze, and hope to avenge a stifling 7-0 defeat, in which Applejack, Rainbow Dash, and goalkeeper Ditzy Doo, were all booked with Red Cards after a controversial incident in the box involving the keeper and Baltimare Blaze striker, Whirlwind.” Oh boy, here we go. The video pops on the screen as Whirlwind, the green skinned blond haired crybaby, tripping over her shoelaces after Derpy slides and steals the ball from her feet. But the damn referee, who was a good ten feet off the play, called a penalty and red carded Derpy on the spot. The angle then switches as an infuriated Rainbow Dash and Applejack run up to the ref and let her have it, so to speak. Although the clip has no sound from the field, just by reading lips I can tell Aj and Rainbow Dash are dropping obscenities every few words before they themselves are booked. Rainbow Dash throws her hands in the air as the ref walks away, but Applejack is incensed. I’ve never seen her so angry in my life. It’s kind of funny seeing her all worked up. Not even me insulting her backwoods family got her this riled. She tosses her hat to the ground and storms behind the ref, still yelling and cursing, before Dash and a player I don’t recognize hold her back. I can’t help but feel agitated watching Whirlwind smirking as AJ walks off. From the games I watched last season, Whirlwind was always trying to use her short stature to get favorable calls from the refs. Several times she tripped a player to get the ball, causing a collision where the opposing player got whistled for a foul because they both went down. Even I got carded once for retaliating against the little shit by pushing her to the turf. I know she’s small, but I can’t stand people who fake being clobbered to get a call. Applejack and Rainbow Dash’s reaction to the send-offs is pretty par for the course when no one catches that little brat. As the program goes to commercial break, I flick off the tv and head to the kitchen to change my bandages. I toss the old ones, then open the sink cabinet and fetch my first aid kit. I tend to the wounds on my left hand. “You know, you make this too easy for me.” Shit, her again. “What, no debilitating pain? No making me fall to my knees in agony? You’re slipping you damn witch.” The demon scoffs. “I was just here to gloat about how your attempts to keep yourself sane are pitiful at best. But if you want me to hurt you, then let me show you something.” One of these days I’m going to learn to not taunt this damn thing. Suddenly I’m floored. My entire body racked with a stabbing pain. I curl into a ball and shut my eyes tight as I try to fight off this new advance with every ounce of mental fortitude I have. Before I can fight off the mental attack, a terrifying vision invades my mind: Canterlot High is in ruins. Fire and debris litter the courtyard. The bodies of my former classmates scattered about like children’s toys. Equestrian Military vehicles burned out and overturned. Then it goes dark. Then I hear struggling. I hear whimpers and pained gasps. Then my blood runs cold as I hear it...I hear the angel soft voice of my love. “Sun...set...s…*cough* stop!” Suddenly my vision clears. We’re in the gymnasium. Before me lays Fluttershy, the girl who I just made my partner, laying on the ground, her face scratched and clawed, her nose and lip bloody and bruised. Her clothes are bloody and tattered, torn to shreds by a blade. I gasp when I see her assailant. It’s me... My right hand is pinning Fluttershy’s arms above her head.. My left hand is obstructed from view. I can only hear something tearing through fabric and flesh.. With every movement she writhes and screams hoarsely. Her eyes are filled with fear and pain as blood begins to dribble from her mouth. “Pl...ease…*cough* *cough* sun..set…” She sobs. I scream at myself to let her go, to spare her this pain, but the me I’m watching doesn’t listen. I can only watch as my left hand rises, and there I see it in her left hand . The knife, coated with Fluttershy’s essence. I watch in horror as my hand rises, and plunges down into her chest. “Gaaaah!” She cries and spits up blood. The crimson spray from her lips coats the face of my doppelganger. “Stop…” her last plea fades into the wind as her body goes limp, her face frozen with shock. “Stop it!” I scream. “Don’t do this to her! You love her! She’s the only one that believed in you and you’re killing her! She doesn’t deserve any of this! STOP IT!” I try to move towards them, to possibly save Fluttershy’s life or at the very least console her as she slips from this world. But I cannot. I can only watch as she’s butchered. I drop to my knees and cover my ears. It does little to drown out the sound of the knife plunging into Fluttershy’s lifeless body. I begin to cry, as I hear my lover die. And then I hear a buzzing - dull at first, then slowly getting louder. It doesn’t seem to be coming from the vision . Wait...I know that sound… The sound of the door buzzer jolts me back to reality. I’m curled up in a ball on the floor. My new bandages are hanging loosely from my hand. The first aid kit is toppled over on the floor next to me. I gather up the first aid supplies, throw them back in my kit, and then run to answer the buzzer. “Who is it?!” I yell into the intercom. “umm...it’s me...sunset...can you let me in please?” It’s Fluttershy. At a time like this I need to see her. “I’ll buzz you in.” I sigh and press another button on the panel to unlock the door for her. Shortly there after, a soft tapping sound raps at my door. I open the door slowly and see Fluttershy, overnight bag slung over her shoulder. We embrace, sharing a short but sweet kiss, before I walk her inside. “Hello...Fluttershy…” I don’t let my eyes meet hers as she enters. “Sunset...are you okay?” She cups my cheek, but I push her hand away and turn away from her, shaking my head. “I had a visit from...it. Before you got here.” I mumble. Slumping into the couch, I curl against the armrest. Fluttershy puts her things away neatly against wall before joining me. “V...visit?” She was confused. I should have remembered I didn’t fully explain how I hurt my hand earlier. I turn and look at her for the first time, and then the haunting vision comes flooding back. I grimace in agony and rip my gaze away from her. “Sunset?” “The demon threw me into a vision.” I grip the arm rest tighter, grimacing as pain shoots up my left arm from my injured knuckles. “What did you see?” Fluttershy touches my shoulder. I recoil from her. “Sunset!” She actually raises her voice to a normal octave. I whipped my head around, eyes full of tears “It showed me killing you! Again!” Fluttershy’s eyes widened in shock. She covered her mouth with her hand. I could see her trembling. “It visited me in the bathroom earlier, said it was going to create a new body and...and…” I collapse into her and begin to sob for the third time today. She holds me tight and presses her lips against my forehead. “There there….we’ll stop it before it even lays a finger on any of us.” She reassures me. I look up at her, sniffling. Fluttershy wipes my cheeks with her hand, then cups my cheek. I relax into her touch and hold her hand against my cheek. “Promise?” She nods. “I have faith in our friends. They all want to help you beat it. I know if we work together we’ll find a way to destroy it once and for all. And I have faith in you Sunset, because I’ve seen who you really are inside.” Her optimism is stunning. I just told her that my demonic form is going to gain it’s own form and viciously murder her, yet she’s standing firm with me. I couldn’t ask for a better partner. “Thank you.” I lean up slowly and capture her lips with my own. She closes her eyes and I do the same. Our lips part and our tongues become intertwined as I relaxed into her. Fluttershy’s weight shifts and I stretch out, allowing her to climb on top of me. Her hands begin to wander my body in search for my sensitive spots. A stroke against my side makes me gasp. She rubs that spot again and I moan against her lips. I slide my hands under her shirt and massage the smooth skin of her back, making her coo. She counters by placing her right hand on my breast. Her fingers gently squeeze my tender flesh and her thumb presses against my nipple. “Flutters…” I moan quietly against her lips. I can feel the heat building between my legs under Fluttershy’s ministrations. I run my hand down her side to her thigh and give a gentle squeeze, making her gasp and press her body against mine. “F...funny how we’ve ended up like this twice today.” I giggle and caress her cheek. She smiles back at me. “I d..don’t mind if we’re a little fast…. “ she grins mischievously. “Oh?” My tone turns sultry as I lean my head forward and nibble on her earlobe. She goes rigid and the air catches in her throat as I actually coax a moan out of my shy lover. “Then why don’t we continue where we left off?” I see that fire in her eyes again. The same predatory look she gave me in the gym. That look in her eyes that parlayed her intention to make me scream her name as she played my body like a harp. This hidden side of Fluttershy, this dominant, lustful girl had never seen the light of day before now. The anticipation of what she’s going to do to me makes me tingle all over. But before I could finally see, the Celestia-damned DOOR BUZZER. “Goddamn it.” I sigh. Fluttershy just giggles. “Later, okay?” she nods and I kiss her forehead before we part. The buzzer sounds three more times before I finally reach it. “Yes?” “Land Sakes you take a long time to answer the door!” Oh Applejack if you only knew. I smile over my shoulder at Fluttershy, who blushes hard as I answer. “Sorry I was…in the bathroom.” “Well, me an’ Rarity are here now, so let us in already.” “Come on up.” I buzz them in then sigh, lightly banging my fist against the door. “Damn interruptions.” I mutter. Not long after I buzz them in, I hear a knock on the door, and open it for Applejack and Rarity, both of them carrying bags slung over their shoulders “And what in the heck were YOU doin’?” Applejack asks as she enters. “Lay off me, I was in the bathroom” I shut the door after they enter. “Umm...hi…” Fluttershy’s calm voice catches them off guard. “Fluttershy, when’d you get here?” Applejack cocks her head to the side. Fluttershy just blushes. “Umm...my house isn’t far from here, so I just walked over after we left Sugarcube Corner.” She says. Applejack nods. Rarity, however, is not convinced. “So, Sunset was in the bathroom this whole time?” “umm...yes…” Rarity doesn’t buy it, but she let’s it go. My spacious abode distracts her. She walks around like a kid in a candy store. “Oh my goodness! That furniture, with that carpet! And those furnishings! Sunset, Darling, this place is magnificent!” She gushes. “I LOVE IT!” She screams, making us all jump. Applejack just shakes her head and drops her stuff haphazardly on the ground. She takes a step towards my carpet with her boots on, but I stop her dead in her tracks. “And WHAT, do you think you’re doing?” “I’m goin’ to sit down!” “Not with THOSE on.” I point down at her boots. “Off, now. “ She stares at me blankly “Seriously?” She sighs and takes off her boots and tosses them to the side, then flops on the right hand couch. Rarity just wanders around my place, gushing at everything she sees. “Oh, this bathroom is just amazing! And this tub, I could just lie in here for hours...and the shower right next to it?! Ohhhhhhhh!” “Heh heh, I think Rarity likes your place.” Applejack chuckles as Rarity rushes back in, staring out one of the large windows. “Ohh and it has a perfect view of Canterlot Gardens...ohh, how I dreamed of staring out at this view. It is just tres magnifique!” She leans against the glass, staring out lovingly. Applejack, always the economical thinker, has a different opinion. “I’ll tell you what it is, expensive. How much did this cost you exactly? “2.3 Million.” “2.3 What?!” Applejack grips her chest. Sticker shock doesn’t even begin to explain her reaction. She fans herself with her hat. Rarity spins around, shocked. “Darling...HOW did you afford this?” “Gem dealing, remember?” I flop down and wrap my arm around Fluttershy. “Hooey. There ain’t no way you earned all this from just selling some gems.” “Well, it wasn’t just gems. I also banked in on some stock investments.” “Umm...Sunset...if...if you have all of this, why do you come to school?” Fluttershy asks. “Curiosity, really. Everyone at Canterlot High looks like someone in Equestria, so I got curious. When I left home Princess Luna had become Nightmare Moon…” “Nightmare...moon?” Fluttershy asks. “It’s a long story. But she turned evil for awhile.” “And How does Vice Principal Luna compare?” Rarity questions curiously. “She’s...odd.” I say. “She’s a lot nicer than Nightmare Moon, but she’s no less mysterious. It’s almost creepy, really.” “Principal Luna is not creepy. She’s just...complicated, is all.” Rarity says as she joins us in the sitting room. She sits down with with Applejack and covers her mouth to muffle a yawn. As the conversation wanes, I grab the remote and click it on. To my surprise, HSP Tonight is still on. “Ugh, do we have to watch this?” Rarity complains. “Oh come on Rar,” Applejack argues, “she just turned the TV on, we’re not-” “And in our marquee matchup of match day one, a grudge match between Baltimare Blaze, and Wondercolt FC in the Ladies division of the HSPL.” “Leave it here, Sunset.” Applejack says. Oh my, her dander’s up isn’t it? “Sunset Shimmer makes her return to the pitch, but Wondercolt FC has been struggling as of late. They’ve only scored 30 points in the last two years, and in both years they had to play through the tie breaker game to stave off demotion. Guys can they avenge last year’s crushing defeat?” Silver Streak, a former star midfielder in the EPL, speaks first. “Well the return of Sunset Shimmer is a welcome addition but...I can’t see them getting over the hump this year. There are still so many questions with chemistry, and Sunset brings another combustible element to a team full of hot heads…” “Hotheads?!” Applejack jumps up, face growing red. “AJ, darling, you’re proving his point.” Rarity says as the second announcer, a blue haired woman by the name of Cobalt, speaks next. “I think Wonderbolt FC is going to come out on fire. They had a scrimmage on Wednesday and from all reports it was one of the best practices they’ve had in AWHILE…” I glance over at Applejack. “AJ...how do they know about the scrimmage?” “Who do you think?” She huffs. “Rainbow Dash called the TV station.” “Sunset Shimmer has the pace to play with Lightning Dust and Rainbow Dash on the wings, something they lacked. She also excels on reading the opposing offense and communicating to the rest of her team; I think Wondercolt FC is going to be back in a big way…” We applaud; however Silver Streak doesn’t agree. “Yes, yes, Sunset is a very nice player but she’s just one player. Baltimare is a complete TEAM.” Cobalt counters her point, “Sunset makes the rest of that team better. They will come out on fire, and they’ll get a great win. Before they can continue, the time runs out for the show. “We could go on forever but we’re out of time. We’ll find out if Wondercolt FC can defeat Baltimare Blaze, tomorrow from Canterlot Stadium at 1pm, live on Equestrian Sports 1.” I’m stunned as I watch the graphic flash on the screen: It has an image of Whirlwind sprinting with the ball at her feet on the left side, and Rainbow Dash on the right, jumping in the air and pumping her fist. I knew High School football was a big deal, but I had forgotten just how much this game mattered. “Oooooo-wee!” Applejack shouts. “We’re gonna get to show that good fer nothing Whirlwind what for on National TV!” “I didn’t even know we were going to be on TV. We MUST display our school pride, show a unified front to the world and cheer on Wondercolt FC!” Rarity declares. “so many...people…” Fluttershy shivers against me. “I know, won’t it be exciting?!” Rarity says. Fluttershy just shakes her head. She never liked crowds. “But you will be at the game, won’t you Fluttershy?” I look over at her. she pauses for a moment, then nods her head. A few moments later, the buzzer on the wall draws my attention. “That must be the others.” I hop to my feet and answer the call. Sure enough, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Spar...Twilight Sparkle, have arrived. I buzz them in and before long, they’re at my door, gym bags and overnight gear in tow. I give everyone a hug (yes even Twilight) and welcome them in. Twilight and Rainbow Dash put their things with the growing pile of stuff in my living room. Pinkie’s bag however seems especially heavy as she drops it with a sigh. “Uhh, Pinkie Pie...what’s in there?” I ask. Instead of telling me, she just shows me. She unzips her bag and confetti and streamers and balloons fly everywhere, yet somehow they align themselves perfectly around my place. She rummages around and pulls out a rolled up banner and tosses it towards my windows. I hold my breath as it flies, and then stare in disbelief as it unfurls itself along the top, “WELCOME BACK TWILIGHT” written in huge letters. “Pinkie Pie...how did you do that?” I ask stunned. I get my answer when a small blue cannon with pink flowery wheels appears from the bag. “What...am I...looking at?” “My SUPERSPECIALPINKYPARTYPACKAGE! Complete with PARTY CANNON!” Her enthusiastic scream echoes around the room as she shows it off to us. “Pinkie Pie...WHERE did that come from?” Rarity asks. “Well, back when I first met Twilight I suddenly had the idea to build a cannony thing so that I could take my party supplies everywhere!” With a big toothy grin, she pats the top of the barrel. “Does YOUR Pinkie Pie do this back in Equestria?” Rarity asks. “She does.” Twilight sighs. I just shake my head. “Now that everyone’s here, let’s paaaar-tay!” Pinkie shouts and pulls a boombox out of nowhere. She presses the power button, and the peppy tunes blare through my condo. The others cover their ears to drown out the sound. Pinkie just bounces along with the beat, enjoying herself. However my lease is on the line. And loud noise is DEFINITELY going to get me thrown out. I walk over and turn the volume knob down to a more tolerable level before turning to her. “Let’s try to keep the noise to a minimum...please? We can have a party and still keep our hearing.” “Sorry.” She giggles. With the sound ordinance issues taken care off, we all settle in for a night of merriment. //-------------------------------------------------------// 9: Pre-game party (part 2) //-------------------------------------------------------// 9: Pre-game party (part 2) Sunrise: Chapter 9 After setting up the supplies, and moving my couches and coffee table out of the way, it was time to finally get this party started. Pinkie Pie set herself to the dual tasks of keeping the music going for us to enjoy and making the snacks. The music’s a little too poppy for my tastes, but hey, it gave us a good beat to dance to. However, Twilight still hasn’t mastered how to dance in her new human form. She spent most of the time dancing like a pony: kicking her hands and feet like hooves as she rocks back and forth. That was good for a chuckle or two. Me and Fluttershy danced together for most of the evening. I let her take the lead, and became lost in her conservative yet flowing movements. A few songs later, I took a break to grab some snacks. I watched Pinkie Pie give a mozzarella stick to Twilight to sample...and then perform the Heimlich when the bit off a little too much (those things are fucking killers I swear). But as I was watching that performance, a completely different one caught me by surprise. Applejack was backed up against my right hand wall, She was pinned there by Rarity, who was definitely showing another side of herself. She she leaned back against the cowgirl while facing away from her and her right hand was attached to Applejack’s side, while her left was pressed against the wall. She worked her body like a snake as she slowly ground up against Applejack. AJ, for her part, is no passive participant. Her left hand strokes Rarity’s thigh, while her right hand caresses her back. Applejack’s head rests on Rarity’s shoulders, and hips roll in time with Rarity’s movements. Her eyes are closed and her nose rests against Rarity’s neck. To make sure I’m not hallucinating, I tap Pinkie Pie on the shoulder and point towards Rarity and Applejack. “Did I...miss something?” “Nah, not really. Applejack and Rarity have always been close, so it’s not surprising to me.” Pinkie Pie says. “Pinkie, they look like they’re about to screw right there in front of all of us.” I say. Pinkie Pie just shrugs. I’ve seen close friends before, and I don’t remember them grinding all over each other like that. And then I get a perfect idea. They robbed me of my fun time with Fluttershy; I’m going to rob them of theirs. So I walk right over, clearing my throat. “Having fun?” They both jump at the sound of my voice. Crimson red blushes blot their cheeks. “H-h-how much did you see?” Applejack stutters out. I just cross my arms and grin. Without me having to say anything, they know I’ve seen everything. Their blushes darken and they look away from me. “I wouldn’t take you two for partners.” I say. “We’re not partners...officially…” Rarity averts her eyes from my face. “So how long as this ‘unofficial’ business been going on?” I ask them both. Neither of them answer. Is it sad that I’m enjoying this? After a few minutes of awkward silence, Rarity finally speaks. “S...since Freshman year.” She says. “Oh come on, you’re pretty much dating then.” I laugh. They don’t find it as funny. “Just give it a try, being official I mean. No one cares if you’re dating.” “Well...Rarity? what do you say?” Applejack asks and Rarity locks lips with her. “Well, if you don’t mind, darling.” She blushes hard. Applejack nods. I can’t help but smile. Playing matchmaker’s got me all warm and fuzzy inside. It’s ALMOST enough to make me sick. I leave them to celebrating their new relationship and walk over to the couch to join Fluttershy. “That was a nice thing you did.” Fluttershy beams and kisses my cheek. “I didn’t do anything but give them a push.” Fluttershy nods as we relax. The eating and dancing go on until long after the sun goes down. With everyone full of food, we wrap up the the leftovers and toss them in the fridge, then lay out the sleeping bags. Then we take turns bathing, and get changed into our sleepwear. Fluttershy and I place our sleeping bags side by side and lay down together. She’s dressed in a pink satin nightgown, and my does it cling. It hugs her curves beautifully, while remaining just long enough to preserve modesty. Even still, I can’t help undressing her with my eyes. I didn’t even know nightgowns could BE that clingy. She catches me staring and blushes hard. I myself have on an orange babydoll top and matching underwear. From Fluttershy’s hungry eyes, I think she approves. Rainbow Dash lays her sleeping bag down near the left hand couch and stretches out. She wears a sky blue short sleeve shirt with blue short shorts. She tucks into her sleeping bag and passes out almost immediately. Pinkie Pie flops on hers and snuggles against her pillow, yet still awake. She wears a frilly pink satin nightgown that cuts off at the knees. Twilight places hers in the middle of the room. She’s definitely the most modest of the group, wearing a long sleeve lavender top, and long pajama pants. Off to the right, Rarity and Applejack are snuggled up together. Applejack’s jaw drops as Rarity opens her long red robe to reveal a low cut purple nightgown. Applejack herself is dressed in a cowgirl special: a flannel shirt with no bra underneath, and a pair of shorts. Rarity turns on the movie as she and Applejack snuggle together. The film is Rarity’s choice, some sappy love story I couldn’t care less about. Rarity on the other hand, had no problem explaining the plot to anyone paying attention. I ended falling asleep halfway. Four hours later I’m jolted awake. Another damn nightmare...even sleeping in Fluttershy’s arms can’t help me escape them. With sweat pouring down my face, I glance around the room to try to get a grip. It’s dark in the room. The only light comes from the city streets. I look around at the others. They’re asleep peacefully, dead to the world. It must be nice to not have to be assaulted by their own mind. Carefully, I wiggle out of Fluttershy’s grasp and stumble into the kitchen. After these nightmares, I really wish I had some sun damn vodka. Unfortunately, the only thing to help me on this night is a bottle of water. But as I take a swig, a sound in the darkness catches my attention. I grab a knife Pinkie had left on the counter, flick on the overhead light for the oven, and spin around to face whoever it may be. “Gah!” Twilight covers her eyes to block out the light until she gets used to it. Then she sees the knife, and I swear she nearly craps herself. “What the hay?!” She screams. “Sssssssh! Keep you damn voice down!” With my free hand I motion towards our sleeping friends. If they woke up now it would take a lot of explaining as to why I had a knife in my hand. “What’s with the knife?!” She points at my right hand with a trembling finger. “My place has been broken into before, so I take steps to defend myself. Remember that the next time you go skulking around in the dark in someone else’s home.” “How was I supposed to know you were up? I only wanted some water.” She pushes past me and opens the fridge, grabbing another bottle of water. Thank the sun it wasn’t another burglar. I place the knife in the sink, and direct Twilight to join me in the dining room so we could talk without disturbing the others. After scaring her half to death with a knife, I should probably try to make some sort conversation with the runt. “So, how does it feel to be back in the human world?” “It’s not as much as a shock as my first trip, but still weird.” I nod and stare out the window. “How is Equestria, anyway?” She beams “Equestria’s been… interesting, to say the least.” Hmm. Interesting huh? “Was Nightmare Moon ever purged?” She lights up when I ask her. “Yes! We used the elements of Harmony to…” “I know how you did it. You tried it on me, remember?” I swear the more I look her, the more she just pisses me off. I was supposed to be her, and Celestia...Celestia...the fuck was I to you, anyway? This topic is going to make me strangle her, so I change the topic to her love life. “Have you met the pony Flash yet?” She blushes hard. “Umm, yes actually...he’s a royal guard for Princess Cadence and my brother, Shining Armor.” “The princess and the guard, cute.” Fucking Cinderella bullshit if I ever heard of it. “Have you spoken to the Flash in this world yet? “N..no…not yet.” She squeaks. That stupid grin growing on her face is pissing me off. “Well don't let your ‘new boyfriend’ distract you from helping me.” Twilight gets defensive. "Of course not! My duty to Cel....the Princess always comes first!" "I said helping ME not the damn princess! Celestia dammit you are one stupid bitch..." Seriously, she does not get it. This has nothing to do with her damn Princess or Equestria. My world is at stake. She’s no use to me if she’s going to be thinking more about how much this will impress the Princess. "Of course. Helping you is the core part. By saving you, I can ensure that both this world and that of Equestria remain safe." "Well excuse me for not caring about that place anymore. Equestria hasn't been my home in a long time." Five minutes of silence pass between us before Twilight speaks again. “It would also ensure the safety of our friends here. And you. One of the goals of my mission is to make sure you're okay too, Sunset.” I suck my teeth. “You think I believe she still cares about me?” “You're her former star pupil. She can't help but care. I care too. You're my friend." Twilight puts on her most sympathetic voice. All she does is push the button to set me off. “First off, we’re not friends, I’m only letting you stay here because the others ganged up on me. Second, don’t you dare tell me that sorry excuse for a leader actually cares after what she did to me.” “The first thing she asked about when I returned was you!” Twilight whispered angrily. “If she was such a ‘sorry excuse’, why would she even ask me that?!” Wow, this one’s actually wound up pretty tight around the Princess’ hoof. Wonder what she did to earn Twilight’s undying loyalty. I just roll my eyes and stare out the kitchen window, watching the traffic on the street below. “What is your problem with Cel-” “Say that name, and I will snap your FUCKING NECK!” She backs up when I shout at her. That fear in her eyes. Strangely, that look of fear in her eyes makes me smile. The Sunset of two months ago would have thrown that plot kisser on the table, grabbed the knife from the sink, and shown her just how dangerous she could be. And in case you’re wondering, this isn’t a demon-influenced fantasy. But since torturing my nemesis with her friends sleeping nearby would be a serious setback in my recovery, I settle for giving her a little history lesson. “I was just like you, runt. Hand picked to be the Princess’ personal student. I worshipped the ground she walked on like she was an actual god. When she picked me to be her star pupil, I was ecstatic.” My voice starts wavering as I continue. “She built me up and created me to be a powerful magic user. I did everything I asked! I passed every fucking test she threw at me! And then I decided I’d try to impress her by doing my own experiment for once. I wanted to make the Elements of Harmony stronger! “I wanted to make the elements powerful enough for one user to wield, so that Princess Celestia could cure her sister of Nightmare Moon’s curse forever, WITHOUT needing anyone else’s help. I kept it a secret because I wanted to surprise her with it. But I was found out when my experiment blew a hole in one of the castle’s towers.” “And was she happy when she found out what I was doing?? Was she even appreciative?! NO! She pulled the rug from under me! Said I was ‘dangerous’! That I could never be trusted with the Element she said I was DESTINED FOR! Now you fucking tell me again that she cares for anyone but her damn self!” I spike my bottle into the sink then jump at the sound as it echoes around the kitchen. I look into the living room. Thankfully no one woke up. Twilight just stares at me, mouth agape. She walks towards me to try and console me but I hold my arm up to block her. “I’m sorry,” she whispers “Don’t be…All I wanted was to be just like her.” I look out the window as a solitary tear runs down my cheek. “Now, all I care about is stopping this damn monster from clawing its way out of me.” I lean over the sink, bury my face in my arms, and start to sob quietly. Twilight puts her hand on my shoulder. “Leave me alone Twilight.” “But…” “LEAVE ME ALONE!” I shout at her. She jumps back and retreats into the living room. Damn that fucking Twilight Sparkle, why did I have to remember this now. I haven’t thought about leaving that place for years, and now she wants me to believe that the princess fucking cares about me, and about what I’m going through… Fuck her. Author's Note Woot woot! Twin billing tonight! I hope you guys enjoy. Next chapter we get back to the football! (or soccer, whatever country you're from) I hope you stay tuned, and be sure to R&R! //-------------------------------------------------------// 10: Gametime: Baltimare Vs. Canterlot //-------------------------------------------------------// 10: Gametime: Baltimare Vs. Canterlot Sunrise: Chapter 10 It’s finally gameday. After a week full of the bullshit life can throw at you it’s finally time. My triumphant return to the football field is a mere hours away. With all the pomp and circumstance surrounding our match you’d think I’d be ecstatic. But as I lean against the shower wall, I can’t help but feel drained. Last night’s nightmare was a replay of when the Princess stripped me of my destiny. That scene has been a recurring theme of my nighttime disturbances since before the demon’s influence began. For the past six weeks, I’ve been back in the throne room with tears in my eyes, pleading my case to the Alicorn that helped me become great. And every time she crushes my heart into pieces in response. And yet I’m supposed to believe she still cares about me. Since I’m never going back, I guess we’ll never find out. I step out of the shower and finish my early morning freshening up, before sliding on my underwear and gathering my dirty linens. When I open the door to cross over to my room to get dressed, I’m met by the site of Twilight Sparkle, toiletries in her arms. Her bathroom supplies clang to the floor when she covers her eyes. “Sunset, there are people here! Don’t you have any decency?!” She yells. By the Sun, there are nuns less prudish than Twilight. “We have the same equipment Twilight, stop being such a child.” I chide. Examining her body, looks like we weren’t created equal. “But it looks like the portal was kinder to me in certain areas.” I swear her cheeks turn a darker shade of purple. “Honestly, must you always be so rude to me?” She laments. As much as I’d hate to admit, she has a point. Since she’s been here I have been picking on her. And to top it off, I accidentally pulled a knife on her last night. Part of me says I should care, but honestly I don’t. I enter my room and kick the door shut. From there I proceed to lay out my clothes for the trip to the stadium: a simple short-sleeved shirt and track pants. Then I sit on the bed and face the full length mirror in front of the bed and brush out my hair. As I do, a quiet tapping draws my attention to the bedroom door. “umm...sunset? is it okay if I come in?” It’s Fluttershy. My body tingles all over when I hear my lover’s voice. How can this shy girl have me so tied up in knots already? “Come on in, Flutters.” I say and put my brush down. She enters, still in her sleepwear, her clothes bag over her shoulder. When our eyes meet, I see the look that has me wrapped around her finger. The blush growing on her cheeks makes me chuckle. And, strangely enough, I feel myself blushing as well. “g...good morning sunset.” She closes the door behind her and stands there, fidgeting. I smile, and beckon her closer with my finger. She walks over slowly and sits next to me on the foot of the bed. “Good morning, my adorable Fluttershy” My swoon makes her blush. She’s so cute when she blushes. I scoot closer to her, and lay my head on her lap, letting out a gentle sigh. “How did you sleep?” she asks, fingers tracing my cheek. “I didn’t sleep well last night.” I gently stroke a palm along the outside of her thigh. “oh it wasn’t because of me was it? i’m so sorry if it was. i try not to be a snorer but sometimes it just happens!” she blurts out. Her concern over me being offended by her snoring makes me giggle. In secret I really wish that was all it was. “It wasn’t your snoring hun, in fact I didn’t notice any.” I say. She breathes a sigh of relief. “I just had a bad dream is all.” I roll over to look up at her. Her eyes are full of concern as she strokes her delicate fingers through my hair. “Was it because of...her?” She asks. For once, that’s not the case. Sadly, I would have rathered dealing with that creature. “No, not this time.” I sigh. “I had another nightmare about the day I left Equestria.” “It bothers you, doesn’t it?” Fluttershy asks. “My mentor basically said I was unworthy of being her student after I tried to do one good thing for her.” I rub my cheek against Fluttershy’s hand and stare up into her aqua colored eyes. “So yes, it bothers me.” Fluttershy tugs on my shoulder, forcing me to sit up against her. “well you know what I think would help?” I shake my head. “Today, take all of your negative feelings and use them to fuel your drive during today’s game.” Today’s game. I almost forgot about that! The Baltimare Blaze, our arch rivals are coming to town, and when we see them, they’re gonna have one pissed off Sunset Shimmer to deal with. With a grin I hop up from the bed and give Fluttershy a loving kiss. “Thanks baby.” I coo. She just sits there blushing. As I get dressed, I can’t help but notice her eyeing me up and down. That ever present wanting gaze of hers has my body aching to be touched, but I have to repress those urges for now. We do have somewhere to be after all. “You should go get dressed hun, we need to get ready to go.” I say. My words break her out her trance and she nods. As we dress we steal glances at each other’s bodies. Every now and then our eyes would meet, and we’d blow a kiss or one of us would reach other and pinch an exposed body part. My, if we didn’t have somewhere to be... But as we play around, I can’t help but wonder if maybe I’m pushing this a little too far. So as we finished getting dressed, I inquire about her feelings. “Fluttershy, are you sure you want to go this fast?” She stares at me, then begins to falter. “i knew i was trying too much...i-i’m sorry sunset shimmer, i-i didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable, honest. it’s just-” I cross the room and plant a huge smooch on her lips, making her knees weak. “Fluttershy, I’m not mad, or uncomfortable.” I reassure her. “I just want to know if the speed of the relationship is worrying you. I mean we’ve only been actually dating two days.” Fluttershy looks down, then gazes up at me. “If Applejack and Rarity can do what they have, w-what makes what we do any different? i mean...i’m just saying, especially since we’ve been hanging out before all this…” I pull her into a deep, lingering kiss. Our tongues instantly meet and I moan hotly against her lips before parting with her. “Thank you.” I pant. “I promise I will keep my word to you.” Fluttershy pecks my lips before letting me go. “t-thank you, sunset.” she says. With us both dressed, I grab my gym bag and step out of my room, Flutters in tow. When we walk into the living room, I see the others are ready as well. Applejack and RD both have sweats on with tennis shoes. Pinkie Pie, Twilight, and Fluttershy are both wearing the blue sweater with the Canterlot C on their chest. Rarity throws on a light colored, wide brimmed straw hat with purple ribbon, a pair of designer shades that take up half of her face, and a long sundress and wedged sandals. “Ooooo I’m so excited! I can’t wait for today’s game!” Pinkie Pie bounces high enough for her hair to graze my ceiling. “Calm down, Pinkie Pie. You’re going to put a hole in Sunset’s roof if you bounce too high.” Rainbow Dash warns. “Butyouknowhowilikepartiesandfootballgamesarejustlikepartiesexceptyou’rewatchingagamebutwhenyourteamdoeswellit’slikeanevenbiggerpartyandeveryone’syourfriendexceptthepeoplewholiketheotherteambutnoonecaresaboutthem!” Pinkie doesn’t so much as speak as regurgitates an entire sentence. We all stand there stunned. Rainbow Dash shakes her head. “O...kay?” Applejack just chuckles. “That girl’s more hyper than Rainbow after a fresh cup o’ cider.” She says. “Hey!” Rainbow takes offense. Applejack just tips her hat. “So how are we getting to the stadium, exactly? There’s seven of us, after all.” Rarity asks. She brings up a good point. “Well, you, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack all have cars.” I say. “But we shouldn’t take all of them. The parking spots will go quickly.” After a quick conversation, we come to an agreement on how to divvy up the cars. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, and Twilight join Rarity in her white BMW M3. Fluttershy and I ride with Rainbow Dash in her sky blue Dodge Charger. With everyone situated, we gather our things and head for the condo building’s underground garage. The engines roar to life and we’re on our way. As we leave the building, I can’t help but see the orange glow of the sun as it slowly rises over the city. It takes me back to when I was a unicorn living with the Princess. I’d wake up every morning and stare out the window in anticipation. My heart would fill with wonder as I watched the Princess of the Sun raised the glowing ball of light and warmth into the Equestrian skies. It used to fill me me pride. Now seeing the sunrise fills me with regret. I lay my head against the door frame and close my eyes. It’s only a brief rest, because soon we’re parked outside of Canterlot Stadium. We pull into the parking lot, and grab our gear. We all agree to meet at the cars after the game and split up to our respective areas. As me, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash walk towards the tunnel to go to the locker rooms, we can’t help but notice all the TV trucks outside. It seems like every major sports and news outlet has shown up to see us play. Even the banners on the outside of the stadium have been changed to show off our team. One of them stops me cold, for obvious reasons. It’s me, in the old Wonderbolt FC uniform. On the giant poster I’m running, head turned to the left. Aligned vertically in gold letters on the left side of the poster is my name. On the lower right corner is my personal emblem, and on the upper right is the team logo. “When did THAT get made?” I ask, astonished. Rainbow Dash puts her arm around my shoulder. “Well, when Fluttershy told me you were coming back we wanted to do something special to announce it. So we had the stadium make up one of the murals with you on it. Do you like it?!” I don’t know what to say, so instead I show my gratitude by hugging Rainbow Dash tightly. “I guess that a yes?” Rainbow says. I nod. With an extra pep in my step we head into the home locker room. The locker rooms have large varnished wood stalls for lockers with nameplates attached to each one in alphabetical order. Our game day home jerseys are hung up for us with our names visible. In the middle are benches, aligned in a square. We get dressed and greet our teammates as they enter. After saying my hellos, I pull my socks over my shin guards, lace up my cleats, and head out onto the field, Rainbow Dash close behind. From field level, the grandstands form a ring around the field, with awnings covering the left and right stands from end line to end line in shade. The space behind the north and south grandstands are uncovered, with large scoreboards. On the video screens next to the scoreboards was a message welcoming fans to the HSPL game between us and Baltimare. As we jog, our warm-up session is set to the cheesiest selection of Classic rock this world has to offer blaring through the speakers. Rainbow Dash enjoys it, but it’s just noise to me. We jog around the southern end of the field, using the white lines painted as a guide. I can’t help but notice some of the Baltimare players are already out here stretching on the north side of the field. They wear purple jerseys with black sleeves, black shorts with purple trim, and pure black socks. Another group of them is working on passing drills from what I can tell. Not like it’ll help them much. One of the players spots me and Rainbow and whispers something to her teammates. We don’t pay them any mind, and just focus on our run. After three laps, we help each other stretch out our limbs, and then work on some passing and agility drills as the girls filter out to the field. They break up into groups and work on passing and ball handling. Others help Derpy get accustomed to reading the ball by taking some shots at the goal. Looking at the girls, they look good. Everyone’s got a smile on their face and extra hitch in their step. And then I hear the voice. “Well isn’t this a sight.” Rainbow and I whip around and see her. The green skin, the ocean blue hair in a long ponytail, those gold eyes and nonchalant expression. Fucking Whirlwind. She’s flanked by her two cohorts, Starshine and Angel Hair. “What do you want, crybaby?!” I shout. “Temper temper, we don’t want any red cards before the game starts, do we?” she taunts. Rainbow Dash growls and balls up her fists, but I put out my arm to block her from taking a step. “We’re just here to say hello and wish you luck.” Whirlwind says. “Yeah, right!” Rainbow doesn’t buy it. “What’s wrong Rainbow, still stinging from last year?” Angelhair crows. “Try to make a game of it this time, we don’t want you demoted without a fight.” Starshine says and brushes her bangs out of her hair. These girls don’t know what’s coming . “You really think it’ll be that easy? We’re not just gonna show up, we’re gonna beat you down today.” I get right up in Whirlwind’s face. Really I have to look down to get into her face, but the effect is still the same. Angel Hair and Starshine step up to try and block me, but Rainbow comes to my aid. The other teammates join in, gathering just outside the south goal’s eighteen yard box. We stare each other down, some players shouting. Before a punch can be thrown, the referees step in to back us away. The warmup session is brought to an end and the teams head to the locker rooms. “I can’t stand that damn Whirlwind.” Rainbow shouts. “ “We know Rainbow, we know.” Flitter says, trying to calm Rainbow down. “We’ll show em this time Dash, don’t you worry.” Lightning Dust says proudly. “Those damn cheaters’ won’t know what hit em!” Applejack shouts. The other girls cheer and applaud as we change into our gametime gear. “Damn right we’re going to get em!” Applejack shouts. “We’re going to beat them senseless this time!” We’re fired up alright. But staying focused is my concern. Being hot headed is what got us in trouble last time. I stand up and clear my throat, grabbing the team’s attention. “Girls if we let them get in our heads, then we’ve already lost. We all know how they screwed us over last year, but instead of talking about how we’re going to beat them, let’s keep our heads on and show them just how badly they screwed up last year.” Everyone faces me as I continue. “The entire country’s going to be watching this game, we can’t run out there and play like a bunch of rowdy children who’ve never seen a field before. We are WonderColt FC,the pride of Canterlot High! We are champions! We don’t let a bunch of crybabies in purple intimidate us!” I pump my fist in the air and shout “ BECAUSE WE ARE WONDERCOLTS!!” “YEAH! GO WONDERCOLTS!!” The girls shout in joy and high five each other. By the time the knock comes to the door for us to assemble, the girls are all in their home uniforms, and lined up in order of position. To my surprise I’m put at the head of the line as we walk out and keep to the left side of the walkway. On our right side, the girls of Baltimare line up next to us. There are no handshakes shared. No one wishes anyone luck, or even cracks a smile. This game is not about having fun, or showing sportsmanship, this game is about beating down the opponent until there’s nothing left of them. This tension gives me a tingling feeling. I had forgotten this feeling. This competitive juice is a better high than lighting up or knocking back some drinks. The rush of adrenaline makes me feel lighter than air. And as the PA announcer calls out, I can’t help but have one thought... “Ladies and gentleman, get on your feet and welcome the Baltimare Prep Blaze, and your Canterlot High Wondercolts! ...We’re going to kick their ass. When we walk out of the tunnel, the crowd roars to life in a chorus of cheers. The grandstands are a sea of blue and white, with a small portion of purple behind the northern goal post. I can’t help but pump my fist into the air as I lead the team out on the field, earning a roar of approval from the crowd. We’re lead by the referees to mid field, and line up along the mid field line, with the officials in between both teams. After a quick pause for the anthem, our team jogs down to the eighteen yard box of the southern goal, in front of our cheering section and huddle up. “Alright girls, let’s show this team what we’re made of!” Rainbow Dash shouts. “Hands in!” We put our hands in the middle, and Rainbow leads us in our pre game chant. “Our field, our game, our rules! We are Canterlot!!!” We start bouncing up and up and down as Rainbow gets us riled up. “Wondercolts go!!” We shout. “We are Canterlot!!!” She repeats. “WONDERCOLTS GO!!!” We scream and throw our hands in the air. Our cheering section goes wild as we salute them. Then our subs run off to our bench on the right side, while our starters take their positions on the field. The captains meet for the coin toss, and by luck, the Wondercolts get the ball first. So here I am, standing in the middle of the field with my foot on the ball. The crowd is going crazy, some of them are even chanting my name as the cameras zero in on me. Most players would be shaking in their boots at this moment. Instead, it just makes me even more excited. With a gentle kick, the game is on. Rainbow Dash gets the ball and immediately passes to Applejack. The forwards move up as she trots up slowly towards the northern goal. CloudChaser and Flitter drop back to help the defense, while Spitfire and Applebloom move up with us, going ahead to work to get open. Baltimare’s defenders mark us man to man, with Whirlwind picking up Rainbow Dash, Starshine, playing midfield keeps her eyes solely on me, while Angelhair takes up position on Baltimare’s defensive line. Applejack passes to her left, catching Spitfire on the run, and we’re off to the races. She jukes a defender to get to the outside, then passes the ball up to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow manages to break away from Whirlwind, and run down to the field, drawing the defense to her side. With two defenders closing in, she fakes a move forward and passes the ball with her back heel to Spitfire. Spitfire pauses, surveying the defense, and relays the ball to Applebloom. I move towards the box, grinning at Angelhair. The lanky defender tries to move towards me, but I fake left, then sprint to the right just in time to catch the ball with my chest. I bring it down to my feet and turn towards the goal. Two defenders try to close into me but I scoop the ball up with my foot, leaping over their feet as they try to tackle it away. With open space, I tap the ball with my right foot then fire with my left. Time stands still as I watch the ball fly through the air. The Baltimare goalie sets her feet and leaps, arms outstretched. But the ball curves away from her fingers and into the net. A loud roar fills the air and I take off towards the right sideline. My hands outstretched, I scream for joy and leap in the air with my right fist above my head . “Awesome!” Rainbow Dash yells and jumps on me as I land. Her weight on my back makes us tumble to the ground. But I’m up quickly, and trotting down the field. The girls shower me with high fives and well wishes. As we line up for the kick off, the PA Announcer makes the feat official. “Wondercolt FC goal scored in the first minute by number 2, SUUUUUNSET SHIMMER!!!!! Assisted by number 5, Applebloom!” The crowd is going nuts and for good reason, but there’s no time to dwell on that now. Baltimare kicks off almost as soon as we’re set up, and Whirlwind sprints up field. Baltimare runs two forwards and six midfielders to try and overload our defense. They try to push the middle, but our defense stays firm. I get help from Applejack to defend Whirlwind, and she tries to pass it back, but Rainbow Dash steals the ball in open space and we’re running up field. again. The Baltimare defense pushes Rainbow Dash to the outside line, trapping her in the corner. She tries to lob the ball high, but it gets knocked down and out of bounds. Baltimare gets the ball back, and they start playing conservatively. This is their signature style. Keep the ball for as long as possible to eat up clock, then when the defense gets lax, move in for the kill. Trying to keep our team from getting over eager was a challenge first time, but so far we’re holding firm. We manage to poke the ball free several times and drive the ball down field. We get a few scoring chances on net, but two of them are blocked, On our third attempt, Cloudkicker actually gets the ball in a good scoring position, but Starshine makes an aggressive tackle that sends the ball bouncing out of bounds. “Hey!” I scream. “What’s wrong, Sunset, did she upset you?!” Angel Hair mocks. This bitch would have had her hair ripped out if not for Applejack standing right there. “If you’re gonna play this dirty, why don’t I just knock your teeth out right now and get it over with!” My eyes are full of rage as she laughs. “Careful Sunset, don’t get ejected.” Whirlwind adds. This time Applejack gets into it. “Listen you lily-livered scum sucking…” Applejack starts. “Leave it alone, sis!” Applebloom screams. “Don’t let em get in yer head!” She’s right. If we let them play with our heads, we’re screwed. Unfortunately, they found their way in. And with our team more focused on fighting than playing, our alignment finally breaks in the 23rd minute. After the goalie boots the ball, Starshine manages to best Applejack when they jump for it, and take the ball upfield. When she gets three quarters of the way to our box, Spitfire goes for a sliding tackle, and misses. With no one in front, our middle is left shorthanded, and they pounce. Angel Hair passes to their left wing, who takes a shot from just outside the box. Derpy blocks it, but the ball comes in too quickly for her to hold onto. She falls backward and the ball deflects to the left, landing on Whirlwind’s foot. She takes a shot that careens off Scootaloo’s thigh. She hits the turf from the shot, then quickly jumps up to try and kick the ball out of bounds, but Angel Hair gets it first. She zips a shot from the top of the box that rockets through the upper right hand corner. The crowd wilts, and so do some of the spirits of the team. As Baltimare celebrates, Rainbow Dash rallies the troops. We get them back together, and allow no further lapses as the first half comes to an end. We trot off the field to the locker room and grab a drink and get off our feet. After one half the score was tied at one, but you wouldn’t know it seeing the looks on my teammates faces. “What is everyone’s head down for? It’s only 1-1.” I walk over to the table decked out with cups of gatorade and take a sip. “You gotta understand sugar, letting up that goal killed a lot of spirits.” Applejack tried to reason with me. “Fuck that, last year it was 4-0 around this time against this team, and being tied’s gonna sap everyone’s fire?” Stepping up on one of the empty benches, I stomp my cleat against the wood to grab their attention. “Get your heads up! There’s nothing to mope about. So what we surrendered a goal? You think they hung their hats after we scored?!” Some of the girls nod, others murmur or don’t even pay attention. “HEY!” I shout. That gets their attention. “I didn’t come back to this team to let Baltimare hit me in the mouth! You want to avenge last year’s debacle? Then pull your shorts up and come out next half with gusto like we know we have!” My speech gets some scattered acknowledgement, but most of the team’s spirits are still in the dumps. Dejected, I hop off the bench and sit down. “I don’t think yelling at them’s gonna get their hopes up.” Dash pats me on the back. I shoot her a dirty look. “Then you inspire them, ‘oh glorious leader’” Finishing my drink, I roll my eyes at her. She gets angry. “What’s your problem? Bringing you back was supposed to help you, not make you worse!” She shouts. “I AM better!” We’re at stand off, nose to nose. Some of the girls come over to break us up but Applejack blocks them. “Being on that field again has been the greatest moment of my life! This thrill I have is better than anything I’ve ever experienced!” Turning away from Dash, I face my teammates. “We have a stadium full of cheering fans rooting for us to come back out strong in the second half. Are you gonna let them down?!” Their eyes dart from person to person. “I said ARE YOU GONNA LET THEM DOWN?!” My yell sends shockwaves through the room. They all shake their head “no”. “The last six weeks I’ve been through hell. I’ve been affected by things I can’t even begin to to explain, not to mention you all watched me get possessed. I’ve been kicked around, put down, and spat on. And guess what? I survived!” My rallying speech starts to have an affect. The light in their eyes come back. The responses become more vocal in support. “If I can survive that, and stand in front of you today. Then what hope does Baltimare have?!” Applebloom hops up on one of the benches and proudly yells. “She’s right ya’ll! If Sunset can come through all that, then this team is nuthin’ compared to what we got!” “She’s right!” Rainbow Dash joins me on the bench next to me. “We are the Canterlot Wondercolts! We’ll go to hell and back for our school, and each other! NOW LET”S GO SHOW THEM WHAT WE DON’T GIVE UP!” Lacing fingers with Dash, I raise our hands in the hair as I announce proudly, “We are Canterlot!” “WONDERCOLTS GO!” They shout. The girls are chomping at the bit to get ready to play. Most importantly, the smiles seen at the beginning of the game are back on their faces. When we’re called back to the field for the second half, there are no more moping faces or hung heads. We switch sides, with Baltimare heading towards the North goal this time leaving us to take the southern goal. Baltimare kicks off to start the half. As they bring the ball up field, I can’t help but notice their demeanor. The hometown crowd’s thunderous chants has our opposition rattled. They’re a bundle of nerves as they advance. There nerves leave their passing sloppy, and after only a few minutes, an errant pass goes out of bounds. “Have you seen anything like this before?!” Rainbow’s shout is barely audible over the crowd. I just shrug my shoulders and shake my head no. I can’t explain what’s going on either. For whatever reason the crowd is in overdrive. There’s no time to dwell on it though, as Lightning Dust throws the ball back in. Cloud Chaser can’t handle the high throw, and the ball gets picked up by one of the Baltimare forwards. But Wildfire makes a sliding tackle, making the opposing player tumble. “Hey!!!” Whirlwind screams. I just wag my finger at her as we’re back on the offensive. After a quick pass up field, Lightning Dust gets the ball and sprints down to the right corner. From there we set up our offense. She isolates the defense, then passes to Applejack. She takes two steps forward and whips a laser into the box. The Baltimare defenders duck down to avoid the laser shot. Even the goalie gets out of the way as it hits the back of the net. “YEEEEEE-HAW!” The cowgirl tosses her hat in the air, then catches it and bows to our adoring fans. The Baltimare team wants a taunting call but we just laugh it off. After the next kick, Baltimare is completely off their game. Their passing is sloppy, and their ball handling is erratic. We steal the ball at every opportunity to keep the pressure on them. But after a few missed opportunities, it looks like Baltimare is getting their swagger back. Well, with twenty minutes left in the game, and the score still relatively close, the crowd’s getting antsy. That’s when I get an idea. “Rainbow, drop back!” I should. she looks at me confused. “What?! We got em on the ropes!” She reasons. I shake my head. “Trust me!” I start backpedaling to play loose on Whirlwind. Rainbow relents and drops back with us. The nervous tension in the building grows as it seems as if we’re gonna turtle up in our own end for the rest of the game. We let them drive in, make a few passes. And then Angel Hair gets the ball, right in the middle of Spitfire, Sibsy, and Scootaloo. Just what I was looking for. Rainbow Dash sees it too. “Scoots, now!” Angel Hair gets caught off by Rainbow’s call, and before you know it the ball gets poked free. With us playing loose, Baltimare pushed forward, bringing eight players in the box and, more importantly, leaving only two players on defense. Now with the ball back in our possession, we can exploit that weakness. Scootaloo flicks the ball over to Flitter. The midfielder runs up the field with it and punts the ball upfield for me to collect onside with the defense. When I push the ball forward, their defenders try to keep up. They're no match for our speed though, and it’s four on none in the box. Time to get a little fancy. It starts with a heel flick over my left shoulder to Applejack. There’s a buzzing in the crowd when AJ receives my pass and lobs it towards the right corner. The buzzing turns into 'oh's' when Lightning Dust gets under it and heads the ball across. And when Rainbow Dash finishes it with an impressive bicycle kick, the crowd goes ballistic. “That. Was. AWESOME!!!” Rainbow screams. The four of us meets at the top of the box in a group hug. The student section has gone absolutely nuts. Everyone’s jumping around and hugging like we just won the championship. The Baltimare players on the other hand, are dejected. After our stunning display, the game is effectively in hand. Baltimare can mount no further offense, and we run the clock down. When the final whistle blows at 90 minutes, the dam breaks. The entire team runs on the field and the celebratory dog pile is on. I don’t remember how it happened, but I ended up on the bottom of this victory party. Thankfully we all untangle ourselves and jog down to our student section. I can’t help but realize that they’re chanting “Sunset!” The rallying cry of my name gets louder as I get closer. When I hear it, I can’t help it when a tear of joy roll down my cheek. This has been the greatest ninety minutes of my life. Author's Note And with that, my loyal readers, we come to the end of the regular updates to the story for a little bit. Not because I"m out of content (I have up to chapter 16 already drafted out), but because of the Author and Editor's school schedules. We will be busy working on our studies, which leaves less time for editing. But I promise, once we come back, I'll have something extra special for you :D //-------------------------------------------------------// 11: Post game celebration //-------------------------------------------------------// Author's Note I LIVE! And I regret NOTHING, I say! NOTHING! 11: Post game celebration Sunrise Chapter 11 Game over. Wondercolt FC defeats Baltimare 3-1, in one of the biggest Rivalry matches in league history. But we’re a former HSPL Championship team, we’re going to act like we’ve been here before, right? As two thirds of the Cutie Mark Crusaders dump an entire cooler of ice cold red Gatorade all over me, the answer is a resounding no. The girls are bouncing around and hugging each other. Shifting from the field level to our student section, Pinkie Pie has our classmates whipped up into a frenzy. Even the runt is in on the action. She’s leaping for joy and joining in on the chants, But before the victors can make it off the field, some of us get scooped up for post game interviews. One of the reports from ES1 pulls me off to the side. Usually I hate these stupid interviews. But on a day like this, I can humor them. “Sunset Shimmer, two years away from the field and it’s just like you’ve never left, how does it feel avenging last year’s debacle?” The female reporter asks. I give it a thought and then answer with a big smile “Pretty good, pretty good!” I giggle. “Usually this is the part where you say something nice about the opponent, how the played well, blah blah blah. Well that’s not coming. They tried to get in our heads, we gave it right back, and we’re 1-0 to start the year!” A roar from behind me makes me jump. My postgame comments are being played through the PA system, and the crowd likes what they hear. “Where did you come up with that trick shot display in the 74th minute?” The reporter inquires. “Well, we didn’t practice it. It was just a spur of the moment deal, the numbers were in our favor and it felt like something we could pull off to drive the stake through their heart!” Maybe some tact should be in order seeing as we play them again later, but sportsmanship isn’t in my vocabulary. Plus the crowd’s eating it up so why not celebrate with them? Rainbow Dash certainly agrees when she jumps on me. With the camera rolling she hugs me tight and actually lifts me off my feet. “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” Her gratitude makes me blush. Before I could hug her back, Rainbow backs away. Then the reporter starts backing away, her eyes transfixed on something going on behind me. And then the realization comes… We had a second cooler of Gatorade. *splash!* The icy contents dowsing my body affirmed by thoughts.. I scream and flail about as some of the ice goes down the back of my shirt and shorts. Whipping around, I come to face my assailants. Scootaloo, Applebloom, and Applejack are standing there, orange cooler in hand. My face scowls in anger. They look scared, but their fear turns to surprise when I burst out laughing. The reporter backs off to leave us to our celebrations. Fans begin to file out when we finally head to the locker room. We head in, debrief, and shower off the dirt, sweat, and in some cases, Gatorade, from our tired bodies. Some of the girls head out after changing back into their clothes. Others mill about the locker room, basking in the high of a successful game. For me, another trip to the field is in order. With back slung over my right shoulder, I walk back out the tunnel and examine the field. The sun was starting to set behind the stadium, casting long shadows over the field. The arena that was once rocking with hysterical soccer fans is now quiet. The scoreboards still display the final score, though the video screens have been shut off. Any stadium staff that was still around was in the middle of picking up trash that was littered all around the seating area. I plop down in front of the left corner flag on the Southern side of the field and meditate on today’s events. The breathing technique Fluttershy shared helps me calm my body. With eyes closed and body relaxed, the events of the day replay in my mind. Time stands still as every action replays in my head. Its in this moment that I am truly at peace “Sunset!” A far off voice breaks my concentration. Looking over my right shoulder, Twilight’s standing there. Her eyes are wide and her hands are clasped together as she looks at me. “What are you doing here, runt?” She sighs. “Will you stop calling me that!” She stomps her foot and pouts at me. “What? It’s a cute nickname.” She doesn’t buy it. She just turns her back, nose stuck in the air. “You’re a child.” She shakes her head. She’s genuinely upset about the nickname. I climb to my feet and approach her. “I’m not going to stop.” “I know.” She sighs. “But I am sorry.” She’s caught off guard by my apology. She turns to look at me with a quizzical gaze. “What?” I ask. “Sunset Shimmer is sorry?” She voices it like it’s a foreign concept. “Yes, runt. I'm sorry.” I repeat. “Not for the nickname, but for treating you like shit since we’ve been here. I’ve kind of taken my frustrations out on you when I shouldn’t have.” “I hadn’t noticed.” Her sarcasm ticks me off, but I let it go. “Hey, you took that punch like a champ.” I say. She actually giggles. “During the game, there was an energy like nothing I’ve ever felt before!” She beams “Did you feel it?” “The adrenaline? Yeah, it happens. You’ll get used to it.” She shakes her head. “Not that! There way everyone was acting was more delighted than my studies previously indicated. Then I had a feeling. This...airy sensation in my gut, similar to the day I first used my magic in Equestria, then I-” Some clarification is in order. “Where are you going with this? Because if you and Flash snuck off during the game, I don’t want to know.” Her face turns bright red as she glares at me. “Not like that!” "Then WHAT are you talking about?" I ask. "Remember when you expressed wanting to bring Unity back to this world?" I nod for her to continue. "During the game, I saw the Element of Unity you described! The people here may not have known each other, but they were connected behind a single goal!" Now that I think about it, the crowd was pretty raucous today. If it really was the Element of Unity at work, then I may have been onto something after all. I put those thoughts aside for now and leave the arena with Twilight. When we get back to the parking lot, the others are waiting. "There you are!" Fluttershy smiles. I embrace my lover, planting soft kisses on her lips and cheeks. "Enjoy yourself?" I ask. She nods her head. "You girls did great!" She says. "It wasn't just great, it was super-stupend-tacular!" Pinkie adds. "Where'd you come up with that play at the end? It was absolutely glamorous!" Rarity says. "Spur of the moment." My reply wasn't far from the truth. Looking back at it, it shouldn't have worked. The defense was closing in by the time Applejack executed the lob pass to Lightning Dust. Come to think of it, why didn't she just take the shot herself? She had plenty of space to do so. “Hey AJ, why didn’t take you shot during that last play?” I inquire. “To be honest sugar, I don’t know. I just wanted to stick it to them Baltimare girls somethin fierce. So I wanted to see what would play out.” She says. “That entire second half was just weird. I’ve never seen the crowd that hyped up.” Rainbow Dash adds. “Well, can we think it about it later? I’m starving!” Pinkie Pie rubs her tummy. Rainbow Dash raises an eyebrow at her friend. “Pinkie, you didn’t even play in the game.” “So? That doesn’t mean I’m not hungry! And besides, the rest of the team is going out for pizza!” Pinkie’s stomach growls and she winces in fake agony. They can go get whatever food they want. All I want to do is sleep. “You guys go eat, I’m going home and getting a nap.” I stifle a yawn. Fluttershy frowns a bit. “You don’t want to celebrate with the others?” She asks. “I would love that hun, but I haven’t played a game that stressful in years, and I need to charge my batteries. I’ll come meet you guys later though if you’re still out,” I say. She nods. We pile into the cars and set off again. Rarity takes her group straight to the Pizza Parlor to meet up with the rest of the Wondercolts. Rainbow Dash was kind enough to take a detour to drop me at my building first. I let them know to buzz the door if I don’t make it to the pizza place, then head inside. I planned to take a decent shower, change into my pj’s , and snuggle up with my pillows...I got as far as my couch before I pass out. Some four hours later, arise from my slumber to see the moonlight shining through my windows. By this time the after party should be long over. Not that I mind missing it. That catnap was the most restful sleep I’ve had in two months. With a loud sigh I roll over again and face the back of the couch and try to get comfortable again. Then a buzzing in my right pocket catches my attention. I pull out my phone to find a text message from Fluttershy. “Are you okay?...thought you’d make it.” The text says. Aww, they do care about me. “Passed out as soon as I got home. Just woke up. How’s party?” I send back. “Everyone’s still really excited…” She says. “Are you having fun?” I ask. A few minutes pass for her next message. “Not really...I mean, it’s not that I’m NOT having fun, I mean I like hanging out with all of my friends…” She rambles on like this for two messages before she comes out and says it. “it’s just that...welll… It’d be more fun if you were here too.” She’s so sweet. I blush to myself. And then a thought pops in my head. I’m alone here. Everyone else is at the party. If she comes over, we can finally finish what we started yesterday. With a sly grin on my cheeks, I decide to test the waters.“Why don’t you come here? We can have our own celebration <3” And now I wait, and it doesn’t take long to get a response. “Are you sure? I don’t want to intrude… I mean you just woke up…” “You can come over Flutters.” I assure her. “*squee*” She actually typed squee...What planet did she come from? Because there’s no way Fluttershy is human. She’s too pure and innocent to be one of these creatures. So with all that kindness, and all that joy, why the hell did she pick me? With a huff, I lift myself off the couch and set about the task of getting this place in order. Then I change out my sweats and into a short sleeve shirt and pajama pants. Suddenly, the promise I made at the shake shop comes to mind. I vowed to not only think about my own needs, but hers as well. But in our first moment alone in my condo, I practically jumped her bones. Not that she didn’t reciprocate or take charge, but that’s not the point. At the time I wasn’t thinking about her needs. I had just come out of a nightmare vision and needed something, anything, to take my mind off of it. And before we were interrupted, Fluttershy screwing my brains out was going to be the perfect medicine. And now here I am, pulling her away from a party with all our mutual friends just to have sex. Doesn’t sound like I’m keeping my promise does it? And just like that, my high from earlier has been sapped. I flop down on the foot of the bed and sigh. “Some girlfriend I am,” I mutter to myself. I have half a mind to just call it off. Tell her that I wasn’t feeling well or something. But that would compound my problems- and it would be rude after she had come all this way. The buzzer wakes me from my internal debate. My Fluttershy is finally here. I take a deep breath, and buzz her in. I don’t even wait to hear the knock to open the door. “sunset!” She smiles, blushing madly. “Hello Flutters.” I fake a smile and embrace her. I pull her into my home and push the door closed behind us. Then our lips meet, followed by our tongues. I moan against her lips and let my hands wander her body. I press her against the door and slide my hands under her shirt. But before I further my conquest, a pang of guilt makes me stop. “I’m sorry…” I whisper and pull away from her. “for what?” Her arms wrap around my waist from behind, and her lips go against my neck. “I pulled you away from our friends to come all the way down here…” My breath catches in my throat before I continue. Another gentle bite on my neck draws a moan from my lips. “Don’t apologize.” She whispers in a husky tone. Another gentle bite draws a moan from my lips. I spin around and face her. “Fluttershy, I’m serious. I don’t want to use you like I did Flash.” Way to kill the mood Sunset. I separate myself from her again and look away from her eyes. “sunset…” A soft hand traces my jaw and rests on my cheek. “it makes me so happy that you’re worried about my feelings.” I look at her and smile. “I’m more than okay with being here, and doing this.” She’s so sweet. How can a girl be so lucky to have someone like her? “No regrets?” I stare hopefully at her. “None.” She pulls me into a kiss that makes all my worry and doubt go away. Replacing them is a wanton need for this girl to take me to heaven. I let her shove me against the wall and attack my neck with her lips. I know letting her is going to leave one hell of a hickey, but it feels too damn good to stop her. Her right hand massages my thigh, making me coo. When Fluttershy’s left hand touches my breast I grip her back, and my nails dig into her skin when she kneads the soft flesh with her fingers. Time stands still as this normally timid girl works my body into a fever pitch. The growing heat in my core makes me beg for more. I spread my legs and Fluttershy responds by letting her hand slide down my front and into my bottoms. When her fingers brush my clit, my nails drag down her back. She groans at the pain, but instead of pulling away, she just presses two of her fingers against my love button and bites down on my bottom lip. “F..f...ah!” I moan into her shoulder. “Speak up, darling.” Fluttershy pants and strokes her fingers along my clit “Tell mama what you want.” “Fuck...m-me.” I plead. She chuckles, and then I feel her fingers pump inside me. My knees go weak, and I slump against Fluttershy. With each stroke of her fingers I moan to the heavens. The juices of my arousal run down my thighs and coat her fingers and wrist. My hips buck wildly against her arm. And then she finds that one spot of pure, unadulterated pleasure. When she touches it the first time, I jump. Then she looks up at me with a devilish grin, and presses her fingers hard against my g-spot. For the first time in my life, I experienced the pleasure of screaming my lover’s name as an orgasm tore through my body. My entire weight falls against Fluttershy. My body trembles as I spasm with every wave of pleasure. I kiss every exposed inch of Fluttershy’s beautiful form I can reach as she runs her free hand along my side. “How the...fuck did you do that…” I breathe out hoarsely as I slowly come down from my high. “Well, umm...I just used what I knew about myself and tried it on you.” She says as she brings her cum-soaked fingers to her own lips. Her moans as she sucks my juice from her fingers makes my body tremble. If I had enough muscle control right now, I would rip those clothes off of her and show her just how grateful I am of her impressive skill. But I settle for leaving a hickey of my own on her neck. When I regain basic nerve control, I lead my lover by the hand into the living room. We flop down on the couch with her on top, and pass the time with tender kisses and gentle caressing. But before we can really get into round two, Fluttershy’s phone rings. “Fucking interruptions.” I whip my hand against the couch. Fluttershy reluctantly sits up and pulls her phone from her skirt pocket. I crawl into her lap with my back to her and relax against her breasts. “Hello?” Fluttershy actually answers with some annoyance in her voice. It definitely catches whoever she’s talking to off guard. “I’m fine Dashie, really...Sunset’s fine she’s just a bit fatigued…” She slides two fingers inside me, and I use her neck to muffle my gasp. “Of course I’ll stay with her tonight! It’ll be my pleasure.” She shoots me a seductive glance and ups the tempo on her fingers. my pussy drips around her fingers and my legs spread wide on their own. “Okay Dashie. I need to get back...my Shimmer needs me.” She hangs up the phone and tosses it to the floor. Then she turns her full attention to me. She grabs my left breast and squeezes hard, and adds a third finger to the mix pistoning inside my cunt. “ scream.” She whispers into my ear. “I want to hear you scream for me.” she moans and strokes my g-spot. My body goes rigid under assault as my soft moans morphed into the lustful screams that make her pussy quiver. she presses my clit with her thumb and with an angelic cry I call my lovers name as I squirt all over her fingers. “s..sunset…” she whimpers. judging by the vibrations in her hand, my screams made her cum just as hard as I did. “y...you...are a goddess…” I purr and slump against her breasts. We relax like this for awhile. Fluttershy methodically finger fucks my aching cunt, keeping us both horny as we pte. “Sweetie…” I hear her lustful voice whisper “C..can you...um...wear some lingere?” I grin and slide off her lap“I’ve got just the thing..” I lean in and snake my tongue from her jaw all the way up to her left earlobe. “Go relax, I’ll be right back.” I suck on her earlobe before sauntering away, making sure I make my hips sway side to side as I leave. It took me less than five minutes to pick out this outfit. And I must say I’ve outdone myself. I admire my reflection as I stand in a red l corset with a white bow resting over my cleavage, lace stockings that go up to halfway up my thighs, and a red garter belt to top it off. Usually I would add a g-string to the package, but with how wet I am now, it stays behind. I stroll down the hallway wearing my most seductive grin. When I get closer to the living room, I hear quiet pants and the occasional gasp. I smirk and peak around the corner to see what she’s up to. From my vantage point I can see my lover has stripped down to nothing, and sits on my couch with her legs spread wide. She uses her right hand to massage her breasts and pinch her erect nipples. Her left hand moves slowly between her legs, teasing her dripping pussy lips. As I watch this erotic display, I can’t help but let my hand creep between my legs. Knowing that she was getting off just thinking about what I’d be wearing makes my body yearn for her even more. With that in mind, I decide to join her. “Warming up for me?” I purr as I step around the corner and strike a seductive pose against the wall. Fluttershy jumps, then gasps when she sees my outfit. “You...you look so beautiful…” She moans. I smile and cross the gap slowly, letting her drink me in with her eyes. When I get between her legs, I drop to my knees and kiss just above her mound. “You’re so sweet. Now let me thank you properly, love.” My words make her blush as I descend. But before I get to the main course, I leave butterfly kisses along her thighs and lap at the droplets of her essence from her self pleasuring. My mind screams at me to ravage her, but I must coax that aggressive side out of her first. So I continue my teasing kisses and licks on her thighs, as her ragged breaths make my pussy drip in ecstasy. When her fingers stroke my hair, I look up and see the gaze I was looking for. That look of pure dominance and lust that drives me mad with pleasure. I let her pull my head towards her center and place my hands on her hips to steady myself “Eat me” She commands, and I obey. My tongue strokes her outer folds lovingly. Her taste is so sweet, but unlike the confectionary goods of this world, this is the type of sweet I could savor for eternity. I lavish her outer folds with licks before plunging my tongue inside in search of more of her ambrosia. Every time my tongue touches one of her pleasure spots, she grips my hair between her fingers. My pussy throbs and spills more of my juice when she does. “Pull harder.” I moan shortly before finding her g-spot. She rewards my discovery by pulling my hair hard and huskily moaning my name.her pulling makes my own pussy drip down my thighs onto the carpet. With my own need building, I place my left hand between my legs, and slip three fingers into my needy cunt while upping my oral assault on her pussy “B..b.aby...fuck...oh fuck...” She pants lustfully and starts grinding her pussy into my face . “fu-ck yes! eat my pussy sunset... make me cover that pretty little face.” Fuck, I love dominant Fluttershy. The hair pulling and dirty talk make me wet beyond belief, My tongue jabs her g-spot in time with the rapid pumping of my fingers between my legs.. Her face tells the story of the pleasure she was receiving. Her eyes shut tightly, her lips splayed with a wry smile as she fucks my tongue. Suddenly she jerks forward, and traps my head between her thighs with a vice like grip. “ my clit! s-suck my clitt!!!!” She commands, and like a good gitl, I do as I’m told. I take her clit into my lips and suck as hard as I can. “ F-uuuck” She grunts through gritted teeth and soon I’m rewarded with an eruption of pussy juice all over my face. She sits straight up, shuddering with every tremor of her orgasm. Having my face coated in my lover’s cum makes me shudder. I grip her thigh with my right hand as I cum from giving head for the first time. With her orgasm subsided, she relaxes on the couch and pets me as I clean her with my tongue. Once i’ve had my fill of pussy, I sit back on my knees and stare up at her with a cheshire cat grin. For once, being on my knees felt amazing. I especially enjoy the feeling of her pussy juice dripping from my chin onto my sizeable bust. Coupled with the intoxicating aroma filling my nostrils, and the fuel for my lust is complete. I pounce on Fluttershy’s lap, wrap my arms around her neck, and shove my tongue down her throat Our tongues wrestle for a while before we come up for air, leaving a thin trail of saliva connecting our lips. The pale moonlight illuminates our bodies as we stare into each other’s eyes. Sweat mats our hair, our breath comes in pants, Fluttershy grabs my rear with both hands and squeezes, making me shudder in bliss “Fuck me…” I beg for it,surrendering to lust as we kiss again “Fuck me…” I nibble her bottom lip and start humping against her. “Please...Fuck me…” “As you wish”Suddenly I’m on my back on the carpet with my legs over my head. She leans over me, and whispers into my ear.“Sing for me, my shimmering angel”Then she slides back and dives into my pussy. Almost instantly, I sing praises for my pink haired goddess with a chorus of lustful screams. Every pleasure spot in my pussy gets a visit from Fluttershy’s warm, wet tongue. Each time she touches my g-spot with her tongue I scream her name and coat her tongue with another helping of my cum. I grip the carpet between my fingers and scream loud enough for the half the building to hear. At this moment I don’t care if they kick me out. I just want more of Fluttershy’s love. Her tongue moves to lashing my clit, and three fingers of her left hand invade my aching cunt and fuck me, hard. I lay on the floor a writhing, sweaty mass, my pussy drools down my ass and Fluttershy’s tongue and face. Orgasms roll one after another, and Fluttershy doesn’t let up even when I beg for mercy. If anything, it spurrs her on. She rolls me onto my chest and forces my ass into the air. She adds a fourth finger on her hand to assault my pussy, and with her free hand she mauls my breasts with her fingers The pain from the new invader is quickly replaced by intense pleasure as my orgasms increase in intensity. When she sinks her teeth into my neck, I squirt all over her hand. After that orgasm, my pleasured torment is finally over. Fluttershy lays down next to me, and I rest my head on her chest, thuroughly spent. “Did I taste...good?” I’m barely able to whisper out “Like heaven itself.” Fluttershy kisses my forehead before snuggling into my neck. I wrap my arms around her and pull her so that our bodies intertwined. With a smile on my face I fell asleep for the first time without a care in the world. Fluttershy had soothed all of my pain with the best fuck...no, the best lovemaking I’ve ever experienced. In two hours Fluttershy left me sweating panting, and lying in a puddle of my own cum. And I can’t wait for next time. //-------------------------------------------------------// 5: New Relationships, and New Miseries. //-------------------------------------------------------// 5: New Relationships, and New Miseries. Sunrise: Chapter Five It’s been a few days since the epic inter-team scrimmage and things have been on the up and up for little ol’ me. Many of the students that didn’t even bother to speak with me are actually saying hi again. Feeling the warmth of human interaction puts me in a good mood for the first time in awhile. As a plus, the whispering bitch in the back of my head hasn’t been a problem for me. The scrimmage itself has turned the entire team around. The girls are helping each other to get better during practice for a change. Even Trixie has picked up the pace. This day however, has been a lesson in patience. It started when I noticed my practice jersey was missing while packing for this morning. It continued when I noticed the chain on my bike was one link from ripping off the sprocket, so I had to change it out. It was at this moment that I thanked my curiosity for learning how to repair this thing myself, or I’d be out a cool five grand. To top off my shitty morning, I received a phone call from the school’s resident know-it-all, Rumor Mill. She thought it was a bright idea to tell me that Flash Sentry had been holding a one-man vigil over the portal since the Sparklebitch has been gone. Why she decided that I needed to know this, I don’t know. The breakup between us hard enough, but knowing he’s a bleeding heart for my new arch nemesis is salt in the wound. Despite all that, I still arrived at school in a somewhat good mood. I truly perked up when I realised Miss Cherilee isn’t at school today. That means instead of suffering through her class, I now have a free period right up to lunch after my math class. Okay, there’s a sub for her class, but I’m not wasting a chance for a morning-long “study hall.” So I spend my free time in the gym, reading my history book while relaxing on the top of the bleachers. Reading about the history of these beings is one of my favorite things to do when I’m not busy. Through my studies I’ve found that these…humans, as they are called, are anything but friendly. Wars to cleanse the impure, capture land, spread “religious freedom”, or just kill people they don’t like mar the pages of their history. I would have thought that the world leaders of this place would learn from the past. Judging by the state of the world today, I don’t think many of them liked history class. But reading about mass genocide can only take up so much time. After awhile, I can’t help but let my mind drift to something a lot less depressing - specifically a certain yellow skinned, pink haired girl named Fluttershy. She’s pretty much been at my hip whenever possible since I’ve dropped the “queen bitch” attitude. And honestly, I don’t know what to think of all this. I get that she’s nice, but that doesn’t explain how “extra friendly” she’s been with me lately. I don’t get it. We were the best of friends before, but this feels different, like she wants something more. But maybe I’m just misinterpreting things. Besides, why would she be with me after what I did to her? Just as I’m thinking about this, little Miss Sunshine herself kinda waltzes up the bleacher stairs. “umm…excuse me…Sunset Shimmer?” Her angel soft voice doesn’t register with me at first. when i finally peer over the brim of my book, I see her standing on the stairs just below where I’m sitting. “Rainbow Dash sent me to return your jersey. It was dirty so I washed it for you…if that’s okay.” I put my book down and look at her. Seriously, her kindness is almost terrifying. I’m starting to realize why her animals listen to her all the time. “It’s fine Fluttershy, really. Thank you.” I smile as she tosses me my jersey back. I take in the fragrance, and can’t help but notice her scent mixed in with the ‘Spring Breeze’ scent of the fabric softener. “Did you…wear this by any chance?” She starts fidgeting all over the place “ohhh...umm, maybe just for a little bit…umm…the entire time I was sleeping…” My mind is completely blank, but I can’t help but feel overjoyed. It’s not every day the object of your affection sleeps in your clothing. Fluttershy just starts blushing like mad. “c-c-c-can I….umm…sit..with you?” “Don’t you have a class now?” “um...don’t you?” The girl has a point. I nod and make some space for her. She squees, then hops up the bleachers and sits next to me. I swear being this cute should be illegal. Fluttershy snuggles against me as I go back to reading I can’t help but smile at her as her eyes scan the pages. “so what are you reading?” “World History.” I say. “You know there’s not a lot of friendship going around.” Fluttershy agrees. “yeah, there have been a lot of wars.” “Humans are generally terrible to each other. They rape, they kill, all in the name of progress, or freedom, or whatever excuse they can make to shoot people...and then there’s you. You’re not like the others.” “i-i’m not?” I shake my head. “You’re almost too nice of a person. I’ve never seen you get angry at anyone…Well…except that kid who insulted Angel Bunny.” We don’t talk about that day. NO ONE talks about that day. “but I couldn’t just stand by as he was intimidating a defenseless animal.” “You’re weird.” “i…i am?” her mood kind of dips. “But you’re the still the kindest person I know, and I like weird.” I say. Suddenly she perks up. And then she asks the question. “how much do you like weird?” “…..ummmmm…be more specific?” “how much do you like…me?” I have no idea what to say. Since being a human, I’ve had zero luck with any sort of emotion other than tearing people down. And before you ask, that thing with Flash was less of a relationship and more of a…pleasure aid with free food. Of course once I turned into a super bitch, the free food and pleasure went away. Turns out he didn’t like dating the queen bitch of the school, and dumped me…via social media of all things (pussy). The point is, I suck at relationships, and now the porcelain angel of nicety pretty much just asked me how much I like her. Well, you only get once chance. So I take a deep breath, then pull the trigger. “Fluttershy…d-do you want to be my… girlfriend?” The silence was so palpable you could hear wind…from outside. I swear a tumble weed went across the gym floor. We sat there looking at each other for almost twenty minutes before another word was spoken. “ummm, I’d love to…yes…” “Didn’t catch that” “ummm, yes, I’d love to be your…girlfriend…” “Was that a…yes?” She blushes hard and nods her head. I can’t help but smile in relief. She actually said yes! The one girl that actually cared about me despite everything that’s happened is now my girlfriend! I can’t believe it! I open my arms to her and she crawls in between them. I stare into her eyes, and she stares back into mine. Then she leans in, and I meet her in the middle. I cup her cheek as we share our first kiss on the gym bleachers. Not the most romantic spot, but no one’s complaining. After what feels like an eternity, I look up and notice two important facts. One, that Fluttershy is now sitting on my lap. And secondly, she has this look in her eyes. I’ve never seen this before from her…It’s not seductive per say…it’s more like aggression, like ‘I’m-about-to make-you-mine’ type aggressive. “Umm…Flutter…shy?” I’ve never seen this side from anyone, let alone Fluttershy…And I can’t lie, it’s turning me on something fierce. She doesn’t answer me; she just cups my cheek with her left hand, and kisses me again. This time though it’s not the gentle, loving kiss we just shared. This kiss is much harder and lustful. She prods my lips with her tongue, and I oblige her. Our tongues roll together, and I wrap my arms around her and pull her close to me. When we finally break the kiss, we’re both panting. My cheeks are redder than my hair, and Fluttershy looks like she wants to tear my clothes off. I sit up, move my bags to the floor next to us, and scoot forward to gives us more room. And then we’re on each other. Our lips meet briefly, before Fluttershy pulls my jacket down my shoulders and attacks my neck with her lips. I surrender to her touch.... And then I hear the gym open…. “Hey ya’ll, it’s-uh…why are ya’ll stuck together like that?” Busted… “ummm…no reason!” Fluttershy says, despite the fact she’s sitting right on my lap, and her face is as pink as her hair. Also her hands are running along my side under my shirt HOLD ON WHEN THE BUCK DID THAT HAPPEN?! Damn, this girl is crafty. “Well THAT escalated quickly” Pinkie beams, bouncing up and down as usual. I just hide my face in Fluttershy’s shoulder. I’ve been caught in worse situations than this in my life, but sitting here as the others tried to figure out just what exactly we were doing made my face redder than my hair. I quickly bury my face in Fluttershy’s shoulder to escape their gaze. “I dun think I’ve ever seen Sunset Shimmer…umm…what’s the word I’m looking for?” Rainbow wonders. “Embarrassed,” Applejack says “Yes, usually she’s so shameless.” Rarity chides. Celestia I hate that bitch. I turn my head and glare at her. “What were you girls up too?” She asks. “N-n-nothing!” I try to say through the cracking of my voice. Rarity doesn’t buy it. “That doesn’t look like nothing, darling. From here it looks like you two were greatly enjoying each other’s company.” Applejack doesn’t buy it either. “Ya’ll two are sitting in the gym, by yourselves, sitting closer than two peas in a pod, and yer cheeks ‘r redder than Big Mac’s jacket. Last time I checked, “nothing” doesn’t fit that definition.” “Where are Fluttershy’s hands?” Rainbow asks. “Nevermind that!” I shout, then quickly compose myself… “So… what did you girls want?” Rarity speaks “Well, Rainbow Dash said that you and Fluttershy were in here, so we came to get you for lunch. But since you both are OBVIOUSLY busy, we’ll just leave you-“ “uh….we’d love to join you girls for lunch.” Fluttershy nods and climbs off me. She fixes her skirt, while I pull my jacket back over my shoulders and fix my shirt. We smile awkwardly at the others as I gauge their reactions.. Pinkie Pie is giving us thumbs up. Rainbow and Applejack are also supportive, although Applejack is STILL confused about what happened. Rarity on the other hand, I can’t tell if she’s shocked or disapproving. She just shakes her head as they leave out. After fixing our clothes, Fluttershy and I follow behind, holding hands as we set off for the cafeteria. However, once we’re there, the scene in the gym is still the topic of conversation, since Applejack goes back to questioning us. “So, what in the hay got into you both back there?” “umm…we were celebrating our r-relationship…” I don’t know where the Flutters that pretty much mounted me went, but Timidshy is back in full effect. I, on the other hand, sling my arm around her and proudly proclaim our new relationship. “What Flutters is TRYING to say is that me and her are dating now.” I say confidently and throw my arm around her. Applejack pauses for a moment, then smiles. “Well why didn’t you just say that earlier?! I’m happy for the both of ya. It’s a mite unconventional for me, but I like it! Just try and keep your make out sessions out of the gym? You’re lucky it was only us that caught ya.” “y-yes applejack” Fluttershy lays her head on my shoulder and smiles. “Awwww, you two are sooooooooo CUTE!” Pinkie Pie shouts, making us blush. “Thank you Pinkie!” I exclaim. Fluttershy squees and nuzzles into my neck. The scene draws a chorus of “awws” from the others. All except Rarity I’ve noticed. In fact, Rarity hasn’t said much since we sat down. Trying to be the nice girl, I ask her what’s on her mind. “Hey Rarity, why are you so quiet?” She pipes up. "Oh! Nothing, it’s just. Well I just never expected someone like you to be with someone as precious as our Fluttershy, that’s all.” "Well there’s nothing really to- Wait, someone like me? What is THAT supposed to mean?!" "Well, Fluttershy is well-meaning, agreeable, considerate, and overall an extremely nice person, while you're just....yourself." I sigh and take my arm from around Fluttershy to press against my face in disgust. "Rarity, must you be a total BITCH now, of all times?" "Why thank you for supplying the word I needed! 'Bitch', that's what I meant to say." Goddammit this girl is a master at pushing my buttons. “Fucking cunt,” I grumble. "And this is why it's so unexpected that someone like you would be with Fluttershy." Applejack, looks concerned, and tries to talk some sense into her friend. “Uh Rarity, Maybe you shouldn’t, uh, poke the bear?” Instead of acknowledging her fucking mistake, the bitch is filing her nails! “Oh my darling Applejack, I’m just voicing my concern that Sunset Shimmer may be a bit too…abusive for our darling Fluttershy.” Did…did she just…Did she just say I’d abuse Fluttershy?! That’s it! “Bitch, I’ll show YOU abusive!” No more games, no more being miss nice Sunset, I’m gonna rip this bitch’s throat out right here! I kick my chair back and make a lunge across the table, but like lightning, Rainbow Dash and Applejack grab me by either arm to try and hold me back. Even with me about to tear her a new one, she keeps messing with those damn nails of hers. “Are you starting to see now, darling?” She points her file at me and sits there with that ‘I told you so’ grin on her face. That’s the last straw. I rip away from the others and ready a punch. Just before I can strike her, Fluttershy speaks up. "Umm, Rarity... I've actually known Sunset Shimmer the longest of all of us, and Sunset is really really kind. She's helped at the animal shelter, and with cleaning up the park, and actually stood up for me when Rainbow Dash wasn't around before she became all mean. She's actually a real sweetheart" I’m blushing badly now. I pick my chair back up and sit down with a huff, and look off to the side to hide my blush " Pshh, you say that as if I'm some sort of goodie twoshoes or something.” "Well , you kind of are. That is, if you don't mind me saying.” Fluttershy stands up, throws her arms around my neck, and gives me a slow sensual kiss right in front of the entire lunch room. The places comes to a screeching halt. The sounds of silverware clatters on the floor everywhere as people stop to look as I return the kiss with equal passion. Rarity blushes at such an open display from us, but continues down her path. “Well, if you insist on trusting her Darling, I certainly won’t stop you. Just be careful.” This seems to piss Fluttershy off. She breaks the kiss, turns to Rarity, and actually raises her voice to a normal level (which is shouting for Fluttershy) and says “Rarity, stop being a bitch!” Everyone’s jaw drops. The remaining silverware not already on the floor clangs to it. Off in the distance I hear a male voice ask, “Did Fluttershy just call someone a bitch?” And that’s when it dawns on me. Fluttershy, the Little Mrs Nice Girl of the school, just called Rarity, the head fashionista, the queen of debonair, a bitch. To her face. After making out with her new girlfriend (me) in front of the entire school. Dammit I love this girl! Rarity, quite frankly, is stunned. “But Fluttershy, darling…you must realize I’m only trying …” Applejack cuts her off. “Rarity, FLUTTERSHY just called you a bitch. Just quit while you’re behind sweetheart.” Rarity finally does the smart thing and shuts up. Pinkie Pie has fallen out of her chair from shock, meanwhile Applejack is breathing a sigh of relief, and Rainbow Dash is confiscating phones to destroy evidence of the kiss. I smirk at the scene, then nibble on Fluttershy ear, making her gasp. I whisper into her ear, “Thanks for sticking up for me baby.” I giggle and squeeze her soft tush, making her jump and blush at me as I saunter away. I head to the bathroom to wash up, and that’s when it hits me. A head splitting, gut wrenching pain unlike the others. I drop to my knees and grip my head. Suddenly everything goes black. I stagger back to my feet and face the bathroom mirror. And there I see it… That claw handed, leathery winged, fang-toothed, red eyed, spikey haired witch I transformed into six weeks ago. “Y…you couldn’t do that before” I stammer. “Well with your little bitch fits, let’s just say I got a little energized.” I can’t believe it..I’ve tried to keep my emotions in check all this time and still this witch gets her juice from ONE of my outbursts?! “What the fuck do you want from me?!” Sunset Satan laughs “I don’t want anything from you, child. At least not anymore. I’m just here to tell you not to get too attached to your new girlfriend. Because I’m coming back, very soon…and when I do, I’m gonna coat YOU in her blood.” “I won’t let you harm her! I swear if you even touch one pink hair on her head I’ll!” ”Child the last time I took this form I almost demolished half your school and killed your friends without even trying.” “It doesn’t make sense, the element of magic severed your connection from my body. You can’t take me over anymore.” She doesn’t seem fazed by that. I have a bad feeling about this. ” I have a work around for my little problem.” What is she talking about? “W..what do you mean work around? Just tell me what you’re planning!” “Pop quiz smart ass, what happened to Luna when all her hate and pride built up?” “She became Nightmare Moon…But you still haven’t answered by question. The element of magic locked you OUT of my body, how are you going to anything?!” ”I’m not finished!” she shouts. “Second question, How many elements did it take to eradicate the spirit of Nightmare Moon?.” “Six…” “And how many were used against me? And to clarify, your friend’s little transformations don’t count.” Shit. It took six elements of harmony to destroy Nightmare Moon. We only had one. “One Element of Harmony was enough to give you your life back, but it also gave me a way to charge my power. As you know, I’m feeding off of your hate and anger. Your fury is making me stronger and stronger by the day. When I finish feeding off of you, because YOU can’t keep your emotions under control for more than two days at a time, I’m going to use my power to create a new body from scratch. “But there’s no magic here, there’s nothing for you to use to create a whole new body!” “You’re as dense as that Twilight Sparkle aren’t you?” The only thing I lost was my ability to project myself through you. I still have all of my magical power I siphoned from the crown, coupled with YOUR hatred and anger.” This...this can’t be possible, she has to be lying! How could she still have her powers intact? If this is true, then how the fuck can we stop her?! The only reason we had magic to begin with was because of Twilight, and it’ll be thirty moons before…before… “When I get my new body, I’m going to chain you down, and make you watch as I torture your precious Fluttershy until she begs for death. And then I’m going to make you kill her. Slowly, and painfully. You’ll watch the life drain from her body as she begs you to stop. And after you’ve finished, and your psyche is a shredded hulk, I’m going to make you watch as I destroy the rest of your friends, your school, and this miserable shithole of a world you call home! And then, and then I’m going to have some fun with you, Sunset Shimmer.” “YOU WOULDN’T DARE!” This damn thing wags her finger at me. “Careful, Careful, don’t want to give me more power do you? Now I’m curious, should I just kill her in front of you, or would you prefer I fuck her WHILE I kill her in front of you?” To say I lose my cool is an understatement. I shriek and punch my fist right through Sunset Satan’s smug face. The glass shatters, and I wince in pain as I feel the shards stabbing into my knuckles. Shortly after, the light comes back to the room and the door bursts open, with Fluttershy rushing in. “Sunset! I heard shouting, are you okay?!” I don’t answer her. I just remove my fist from the glass. She sees the blood and covers her mouth. “Om my gosh!” Sunset, what happened?!” I turn to her and wrap her in a tight hug, as tears go streaming down my cheeks. The mental image of that…thing torturing her before my very eyes makes me sick to my stomach. “Fl..Fluttershy” I whimper. “J…just hold me…please?” Fluttershy nods and holds me tight. She rubs my back as I drop to my knees, and my weight pulls her down with me. She kisses my cheek and tries to console me as I shake in her embrace. “Sunset…was it…was it…” “Yes…” Is all I can say.
