//-------------------------------------------------------// Hangin' With Dash -by Princess Maxii- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Trouble //-------------------------------------------------------// Trouble Stormbolt trotted down the streets of Ponyville. The town was awfully quiet in the middle of the day. He looked around. There was no pony to be found. There were carts of different goods everywhere but no ponies. Was he looking that bad today? He knew that he was a bit scruffy looking from the plane ride but he was sure he didn't look that bad. Storm looked into a puddle of water from an unattended hose. Ruffled bright orange coat, stunning blue eyes, slightly messy wings, cream mane and tail . . . nope . . . he didn't look too bad. After a few minutes of scanning the area for any signs of life, he bit his bottom lip. thump "And the creepy sounds start . . ." Storm grumbled. He started to walk towards the tree labeled 'Library'. There was silence except for the clip-clop of his own hooves. scuff scuff "Seriously, where are those sounds coming from and-" He froze. There was a huge hydra standing that was previously hidden behind some bushes and it looked hungry. He took a few steps back and swished his tail. This was not good. "Hey! Hey, Mister Pony I've never seen! Watch out for that hydra!" a voice called. The hydra looked up and spotted him. He laid his ears back and cursed under his breath. "Who is the idiot who couldn't keep his mouth shut now?" "I dunno! I'll ask Twilight! She always knows." "Huh?" A pink mare bounced over to him and shook his hoof rapidly. "Hiya! I'm Pinkie Pie! Are you having a superific day?" "What?" "Oh, right. I forgot about that mean old hydra. Don't worry. The princesses will deal with him. I gotta get you to safety." The hydra, however, was not having any of it. It roared and blocked their path. "I don't think its going to let us by without a fight, Ms. Pie." "So what do we do? I ran out of cannons." "What?" "I don't think Twilight is close by." "Cannons . . . uhm . . . never mind. I'll attack it." "No, silly. It'll just hurt you." Pinkie said. She grabbed his hoof and dragged him to the library. Once in the library, he saw that at least twenty-five percent of the town was in there. A purple unicorn trotted right up to him and she looked pretty miffed. "What were you doing outside? It's dangerous!" "I, uh, just came." "What took you so long to take cover?" "I was gonna fight it. . ." The unicorn looked horrified. "What!?" "I was gonna fight the hydra." The unicorn looked so angry. A cyan pegasus flew up to Stormbolt and smiled. His whole world collapsed and melted and was replaced by her. Her mighty wings beat the air with so much power, it was all he heard. Her pelt sparkled in the artificial light and her mane flowed around her self absorbed smirk. "I'm Rainbow Dash. Who're you?" "Stormbolt." He thanked Celestia that he didn't stutter. "Okay. It's kinda cool how you were planning to confront the hydra." Stormbolt's pride was hurt. "Kinda cool?" "Yea, I mean, you were planning to do it. You didn't actually do it." His jaw dropped. The most beautiful mare in the history of beautiful mares just said that he was kinda cool. He was one-hundred percent cool! "I'll have you know-" "That's Twilight by the way. You've met Pinkie, right?" "Eeup!" Pinkie purred. "The princesses obviously won't be coming. We have to stop the hydra ourselves." Twilight stated. A couple of ponies including Rainbow Dash, Twilight, Pinkie, and I exited the library and watched the hydra destroy some buildings. It hadn't noticed us yet. "What are we gonna do?" a stallion from the group asked. "We should distract it. Lead it out." Twilight answered. Pinkie bounced in place. "Oooh! I can lead him! I love leading non-ponies!" "I'm going with you." Rainbow hovered just above Stormbolt. He spread his wings and flew up next to her. "Can't expect me not to go." Stormbolt said. Twilight rolled her eyes. "Hey, hydra!" Twilight yelled. The hydra turned around and eyed us suspiciously. "Don't you wanna come eat us?" Pinkie asked loudly. The hydra cocked its head. "Stormbolt tastes great! Just like . . . whatever you normally eat . . !" Rainbow Dash called. Stormbolt glared at her. She simply shrugged and laughed. Pinkie bounced up and down. "You're on, Stormy!" The two mares were off as the hydra charged towards Stormbolt. The other ponies scattered and went for cover while Twilight watched from a magical bubble in the air. Rainbow Dash was watching from the air while Pinkie watched on the ground. Stormbolt gulped and led the hydra into the Everfree forest. The hydra roared and chomped its jaws, trying to catch him. Stormbolt caught a glimpse of Rainbow Dash as she trailed him in case he needed assistance. Or for entertainment. Stormbolt felt so important to have the mare of his very recent dreams watching him. He ran up to an acidic river and stopped. The hydra found this as an opportunity and leaped right at him. Fighting the urge to scream, Stormbolt stepped to the side just in time and the hydra plunged into the acidic depths of the river. Rainbow dash's eyes widened. Stormbolt ran back to Ponyville and grinned as a whole bunch of ponies surrounded him. "It's dead!" he shouted. There were gasps. "Dead?" twilight asked. "Did you kill it?" a shy yellow mare squeaked. "Nope. I just led it into an acidic river." Stormbolt watched as Rainbow flew out of the forest and landed right next to him. He grinned and she grinned back. Good. He'd gotten her attention. "That was kinda mean." Pinkie said. "It would've killed us all." Stormbolt frowned. "He's right." Twilight agreed. Everypony cheered and returned to their houses and started repairing. "Mean or not, thanks for saving us, Stormbolt." Pinkie zoomed off to Sugarcube Corner. Twilight returned to the library.
