Twilight Sparkle sat down on the couch. Her horn glowed as she surrounded a chocolate chip cookie with her magic, flipping open a book. Spike was outside taking a walk in the warm glow of the sun, while Twilight caught up on her reading at home. She had just started reading the very first chapter of the last Daring Do book when a brisk knock on the door snapped her out of Daring Do's fascinating world and back into reality.
Twilight groaned and walked up to the door, opening it.
A gray stallion in a white lab coat was standing there, his horn glowing bright white as he surrounded a small black leather bag in his white, sparkling aura.
"Who-" Twilight was about to ask who the stallion was, as she had never seen him before. But the stallion cut her off, introducing himself right away.
"Hello, Twilight Sparkle. I am a scientific researcher at one of the most prestigious colleges in Equestria-Canterlot University. I have a proposal for you. If you will sell our research program all of your science books, we will pay you ten times their worth. You see, we are in urgent need of them for a specific experiment, and I was sent to tell you that we will buy all of the science books in your library for ten times their worth, or an even higher price if you request of it."
Twilight frowned. "You don't need ALL of my science books, I'm sure. Now, what's your name? Perhaps I can sell you my books that are in the category of what you are trying to research now."
"I'm Dr. Walterwhite, and I really just need you to sell me all of them-"
"I can't! Other ponies need my science books, too! Why not just go and buy them yourself at a bookstore?"
"Oh, but this library has the most wonderful selection of books that we can dream of! And we don't have any books! And bookstores think we have so much money...
"Ugh!"
Twilight reasoned with the gray stallion for a long period of time, until she snapped.
"WHY in the name of CELESTIA, do you WANT all of my BOOKS?!!!!????"
"Whatever!" said the gray stallion, stomping his foot so hard on the ground that he sent a bottle of strangely colored liquid flying out of his leather bag, along with a few scrolls. The scrolls safely hit the ground, but the bottle cap immediately smashed open at first contact with the ground, its contents spilling slowly onto the floor.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!!" The stallion panicked, sliding on special gloves and frantically trying to scoop up the strange liquid with a small metal cup drawn from his leather bag. Seeing that it was hopeless, he looked up at Twilight angrily.
"What you've just made me release here is a mutant germ that can cause a much more dangerous version of the Cutie Pox," he said, his face a bit red. "We have been experimenting on complete cures for all the diseases you can name. This is one of the most dangerous failures we have made doing that. Even we can't fix this. You had better stay away from that mutant germ now have the Princess extinguish it."
Then the stallion ran away.
"Hey, it's YOUR fault you even brought such a dangerous thing here to my home!" Twilight yelled angrily. The purple mare immediately ran outside to gather Spike and head to the castle to inquire about the strange germ.
-5 hours later-
"Princess Celestia, it's me, Your Highness," said Twilight, walking into the Princess' throne room slowly. "This scientist guy...he accidentally spilled this dangerous mutant germ thing into my library. He said you were the one who could find a way to extinguish it.'
Princess Celestia gasped. "Oh, dear," she said. "A mutant germ? Very horrifying indeed. Let me see what I can do about that. For the meanwhile, if it's really that dangerous, you may stay in the castle, in any room you choose besides those that are occupied by the castle's inhabitants."
"Thank you so much, Princess." Twilight thanked the regal, tall princess as her horn glowed, emitting a gold aura that was unique out of all the ponies in the world. Twilight had yet to understand the complicated spell the bright white princess was doing, her golden gleaming armor seeming to sparkle in the last few rays of sunlight. Twilight glanced through one of the many stained-glass windows of the throne room, the one that depicted her and her five best friends fighting Nightmare Moon, looking at the faint shadow of Ponyville in the distance, wondering if her house was safe.
"Please, don't be infected by that germ forever," Twilight murmured, gazing at the blurry outline of her hometown in the distance.
Princess Celestia summoned her servants one by one using her magic, effortlessly using her glittering aura to reach all over the fancy castle and summon each servant slowly. Soon, she was done and turned to Twilight, who was still gazing sadly out of the now slightly darkened window.
"I see my sister is late for raising the moon," said the white mare. "Follow me, Twilight. First i will remind my sister to lift the moon up, and then i will show you a room. I have just summoned my servants to clean up my throne room, then prepare all the rooms for you so they will be completely clean whichever one you choose."
"Thanks," said Twilight, trotting after the Princess out the door of the throne room and down the brightly lit corridor.
The two stopped at a dark blue door a patch of black with a white moon in the middle splattered on the very center. The letters LUNA had been slowly handcarved into the door, slightly above the black splatter that resembled Princess Luna's cutie mark. Princess Celesta knocked lightly on the door, then patiently waiting for her sister to answer. Soon, the blue door swung open, revealing the dark blue mare that looked so much like the door, her magical flowing mane gripping the handle. "Oh, Celestia. It's you," said Luna, smiling. "And look, what have we here? My friend, Twilight Sparkle! You've grown an inch or two, I can see!"
The two larger mares trotted toward each other.
