Chapter 1: Understood (Derpy's POV)
Miss Honey Buzz starts handing out the graded flight tests. I'm nervous... Shaking nervous. I know I will get a good grade, but the other foals won't believe that. Miss Honey Buzz places my test face down on my desk. I turn it over. I can see how hard I'm shaking as the test wobbles about. I place it face up on my desk. An A plus! I fell relieved, for a second. Then I hear behind me, "Look at Derpy! She's shaking! I bet you she got an F minus!"
"Ugh! Why are kids so mean!" Oops! I just realized said that out loud. "Something wrong Derpy," my roommate, Carrot Top shouts from upstairs.
"No"
"Ugh! Derpy, are you reflecting on your 'horrible foalhood memories' again?" She says sarcastically. She doesn't understand... Nopony understands.
All they see me as is a stupid pony who has no brain. I'm gonna show them, I'm gonna show everypony, I'm gonna be something great.
"Derpy you need to stop thinking and actually do something. If you..." At that point I just drained Carrot Top out, and started thinking again. I'd rather sit in sorrow that hear Carrot Top blabber a lecture about how I should "Stop thinking and do something."
"My name's not Derpy it's Ditzy!" I try to stand up for myself. They just bring me down again. "Derpy suits you better. You're too stupid not to be named Derpy. Look at her eyes, they're so derpy!" I can't stop myself from crying any longer. I'm super sensitive about my eyes. The only reason I'm cross-eyed is that I never wear my glasses, because if I wear them, they'll make fun of me even more! It's just not fair. The more I cry, the more they laugh. "That's enough everypony!" Miss Honey Buzz shouts.
"Derpy! Are you in there! Are you even listening to me?" Carrot Top's stern voice brings me back to reality.
"What? No"
Carrot Top lets out a huge sigh. "Derpy, what am I gonna do with you?" Don't you see she doesn't understand! "Ugh!" I growl. Carrot Top gives me a stern stare. Whoops! I shouldn't have said that. Sometimes I wish Carrot Top was more like Miss Honey Buzz.
I stared back at Miss Honey Buzz. She's the only pony who is nice to me. She's like parent to me... She's nicer to me then my actuall parents. All of a suddon, I hear the biggest bully in all of Cloudsdale, Supreme Thunder mutter "blank flank". I look at him and he's pointing at me. Yet another thing they make fun of me about! Stupid blank flank! I want to tell Miss Honey Buzz, but I'm afraid I'll get beat up. Supreme Thunder always beats up tattlers. "Alright everpony class dismissed." Miss Honey Buzz announces.
I start shaking again. No! I don't want to leave! I always get bullied on the way home. Just as I'm able to drag myself to the door, I hear Miss Honey Buzz say "Ditzy may I see you for a moment"
I better stop thinking, I have work to do. "Carrot Top! I'm leaving for work"
"Derpy it's Sunday, you don't have to work today" Aw Horsefeathers! I did it again! I made yet another stupid mistake. No wonder everypony thinks I'm so stupid! All I do is make stupid mistakes. I better get out of the appartment, I think I need some fresh air. "Carrot Top I'm going out"
"Ok Derpy" I walk out the door and start walking around town. Everypony seems to have a purpose, what's my purpose? I decide I need to find my purpose, yes that's it.
I walk back to the apparment, pack my saddle bags, and yell "Carrot Top I might not be back for a while!" I walk out the door, half expectant, half not of what will come. I'm going to find my purpose, and the quest has just begun.

Before you ask, Miss Honey Buzz is inspired by Miss Honey from Matilda. Happy reading!
Chapter 2: Mommy and Daddy (Dinky's POV)
I hear Mommy and Daddy yelling at each other. Mommy and Daddy always fight. I cry and have nightmares about it, but it's better than when Mommy and Daddy tell me how much they hate me. Mommy and Daddy only agree on one thing, and that's me being completely imperfect and a stupid waste of time.
School is even worse. I get made fun of because I'm a blank flank. That, and everypony calls me stupid, even Miss Lemon Sour. I wish I was in Miss Cheerilee's class. Everypony in her class seems just so happy. I wish I was happy.
Miss Lemon Sour always tells the class how bad my grades are. She tells the class to laugh at me. I wish I could cry sometimes, but crying is against the rules, and I don't want to be punished. One time this kid spoke without being called on, and Miss Lemon Sour forced her to answer every question and if she got it incorrect, she was slapped. Miss Lemon Sour doesn't understand how hard I try to get good grades. If she does, she doesn't care.
I wish I could tell Mommy and Daddy about my problems. They don't care though, in fact they'd probably encourage Miss Lemon Sour to torture me even more. Mommy and Daddy stop yelling at each other, and start talking. I don't really pay attention, why would I want to hear about how terrible I am, or endless fighting.
Suddenly, I heard Mommy walk in to the room with a fake smile on her face. A fake smile's better then nothing. I'm still terrified though, my mom hasn't ever said or done anything nice to me. Then I hear something I never thought I would hear out of Mommy's mouth. "Dinky we're going on a walk"
I didn't know how to respond. I can't object, or Mommy will call me a selfless brat. Mommy says I should be grateful for anything and accept it with great thanks. Stuttering I say "Ok, Thank you mommy." Mommy walks out the door without saying a word. I follow Mommy.
***
We walk to a part of Ponyville I've never been to before. I never knew Ponyville was this large. "Bye Dinky, I always hated you" Mommy said as she walked off. "Mommy wait!" she was gone. I was lost. I started crying, and all poured out of me. It was all bubbling up inside me since the day I was born. I had no home anymore. Then it hit me. Mommy abandoned me.
I didn't know how to feel. I was scared to be lost, happy to be away from Mommy and Daddy, but yet at least with Mommy and Daddy I had a home, and I wasn't lost. I thought my life couldn't get any worse, and yet it did. I was now homeless. I'll never be happy, now that I'm gonna die on the streets. I'm lost forever, lost emotionally and well just plain lost.
