prologue
Prologue:
In the dark of night on a new moon a quiet laugh comes out of the darkness inside a cave near the edge of the equestrian empire. A small light appears and a conversation between two beings begins. All that you can be seen is the small red light and a few rocks cover with moss.
“Ha-ha-ha, those little ponies thought they got rid of the darkness and cleansed the night of me forever, they were so wrong and when I do return, I shall show them true evil.” it said as the glow moved to every word the thing said like it control the glow.
After a few moments of occurring laughter another few beings can be seen in the darkness around the glow showing nothing but their eyes and whispers with many different voices. ” Then do we have a pact, we give you the power and an entrance and you will bring back the darkness to us.”
He replied “Yes and I will rule this new world full of darkness no one will escape from true fear.” The glow grew brighter and turned a darker red as it started laughing again.
“That is fine with us we do not care who rules or what you do just as long as the task is completed and we get back what we lost many years ago the true night.” They whispered from above the light slowly trying to move away from the light without actually moving away like shadows.
“Wait! When and where is the opening and how will I know what to do, I mean last time you bring me back I was a bumbling buffoon of a colt. How do I know this time it will work?” he yelled like they were just mere ponies not obeying order as the light morphed changed for every word again but was getting small again.
“We know it will work because your mind is what will be sending back into the world not your body. As for the when and where that knowledge is not needed for the summoning, all you need to know is when you see the light go towards it. Plus they will be this only 0.01% chance that they can defeat you when you are summoned back and we can stop them if it comes down to it.” they whispered but slightly fading out again away from the light.
“How do you know all these things and what are you really?” he yelled into the dark. There was no return until one shadow appeared and stared at the light. “Well what are you waiting for? Answer me! ”he shouted but he noticed this shadow was different.
“I’m sorry, “it said and with a different tone than the others it was like the voices had tried to make it sound more filly.
“Why?” the light said curiously. But before it could answer it was gone like the others, as the light flickered the voice just got back into the same mood he had before plotting and murmuring punishments to all he hated. The light fades into darkness and all is black.
