Prologue

“Huff... Huff...”

This world of ours is filled with mysterious and strange wonders. From the knowledge of dreams to the uncharted territories of deep space.

“Control to Dive team. What's the status of the excavation?”

Some wonders can be uncovered from the tiniest of excursions, maybe a lost memory that is found when one cleans their closet. While others can be found in the most dangerously guarded temples and ruins.

“This is Dive Leader, we haven't found anything at the drop site. Most of the area's covered in rubble, and would take weeks to get cleared out.”

“Roger that Dive Leader, return to the surface, there's a vessel up topside waiting for pickup.”

But there are some things... There are somethings that just need to be left alone.

“Holy shit, what is that?”

“Dive Leader, do you copy? Dive Leader, what's the situation? Dammit Deep Sea, if you're pulling another dumb-assed prank just to scare us again I'm gonna-

Some things, they don't want to be uncovered.

• Canterlot High School, 11:30 PM-

“N-N-No... No stay back!”

In the middle of an extremely large Soccer Pitch, a group of teenagers wearing pale white full bodysuits with fake eye-masks surrounded another teen, who wore a black leather jacket, with a pair of blue jeans a yellow t-shirt, and sneakers The black hair on top of his head would normally be slicked back and full of grease, but was presently a messy mop.

“Join uuuuuuuuuuussssssssssssssssss.......” The crowd of teenagers moaned, continuing to advance on the only non-bodysuit clad member.

“It will make you feel better-

-it will make you one with us-

-be one with us-

-it is who you are-”

“No, Stop it, Stop it!” The teen cried, trying to run through a part of the crowd like a football player only to get thrown roughly back.

“It's no use Ace. You will become one of us. He... He needs you, for lack of a better word, to be the stepping stone of his gift.” The teen known as Ace looked up, seeing the figure of a smallish looking teenager standing on a set of bleachers against the light of the moon. The only thing that he could see about her was the glimmering golden hair that was billowing out like an invisible wind and a pair of eyes that continued to shine a pale green light.

“You all are crazy!” Ace snapped, gasping as several of the other teens grabbed his limbs to restrain him. “No... NO! You're not going to make me into one of them! You're not going-”

Ace's body began to glow a sickly disgusting violet. His body convulsed, limbs thrashing every which way as the light began to consume him. The teens that surrounded the human once known as Ace Ray stepped backwards, watching as the now human shaped-light melded and formed into a small sphere of dark purple energy. After a few moments the sphere reformed, revealing a monster.

The teen on the bleachers leapt off from the top and stood in the circle as the teens took a knee. After a few moments she smiled, grinning at her handiwork before placing a hand over her lips.

“Welcome to the family.”
