//-------------------------------------------------------// A Bright Idea -by Cubbysablo- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// A wish and a mysterious letter //-------------------------------------------------------// A wish and a mysterious letter "A SONIC RAINBOOM! SHE DID IT! SHE DID IT!!" Fluttershy screamed. A beautiful rainbow made it's way above the arena as Rainbow Dash flew with Rarity and the unconsious Wonderbolts in her hoofs. She hovered into the arena as other pegasi came and helped carry the WB and Rarity. I smiled. This was one of my absolute favorite parts in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I must say, being a brony since last year have brought happiness to my life. having watched every single episode all the way to the last episode (SPOILER ALERTS!) when Twilight got her wings has truly made my life a happy. (I have to say my mouth was wide open with surprise after she flipped out her wings, leaving me wordless ( I even got a bit sentimental after that moment)). "Sorry boys, but I've got plans!" Rainbow Dash said, flying away with her biggest idols. I shut down my computer and decided to go for a walk. I walk alot. Going for walks has been my kind of second life since I started making games. I run my own small company and have a 6 other people employed. At the moment I've given my employees vacation for 3 months since summer break just started, and i also needed some time to rest and get some new fresh ideas. I'm not doing so well right now, people are rarely buying my games , but its just enough to keep the line going. I live in my own apartement and I have no  girl friend (luckily) since I prefer to be alone. I moved away from my parents home for about 9, 10 years ago and I wonder how evereything is going for them. I would love to pay them a visit, but i don't have the money yet, and i need to pay the salary of my co-workers... I was going for a usual stroll and went up to the awesome hill with a church on it. I really love to go there since it's got an excellent view over the city and not many people go there, making it the perfect place if I just want to be alone. I could literally just sit there for hours and watch the sun go down, listen to the cars, watch birds in the sky or boats sailing in and out. The air here is very clean and easy to breathe, compared to the city down there. This time, my mind brought up a picture of ponyville with the six main...ehrm, the six MANE characters of the show. I was thinking about how a regular cartoon show which was mainly intended for little girls could get so popular between adults and teenagers (no pun intended), And also why other shows doesnt get half much attention. But there is something about it, something about the show that made it so popular, although I can't figure out what. I'm pretty sure that if I was a pony right now I would have a deep thinking cutie mark or something like it. I brought up my wrist and realized it was getting late. I stood up and stretched my legs and back after sitting for a while. I intended to go home when a blue flash passed in the corner of my eye. I instictively looked at where it came from and saw it rush by the corner of a wall, followed by the sound of a small explosion. I ran with all my might towards that corner to see what it was, which felt like an eternity to get to. But nothing was there. I was sure I saw something pass by here, but I'm sure it just was my imagination, being really tired right now. With nothing left to see, I started to head towards my home, feeling that I really needed to sleep. The sky was covered my beautiful gem-looking lights as I arrived, covering my eyes as I turned on the light. Brushing my teeth and getting ready to hit the bed, I looked out the window at the pitch dark sky, filled with thousands of glimmering stars, just waiting there for something to happen. Suddenly, one of the beautiful lights on the sky fell down from the sky with a beautiful white line eagerly following after. A shooting star! I quickly held my hands together and closed my eyes. I wished i could be in the lands of Equestria, even just for a day, and escape the clutches from this dark, depressing world I live in. I opened my eyes and sighed. I wanted my wish to come true so badly, but on the inside I knew it wouldn't happen. My eyes were very hard to keep open right now, so I made my way to my room and fell clumsily onto my bed, sleeping almost instantly. "Urghh" I groaned. I felt cold sweat in my neck and my back hurt as I woke up. I remembered having a terrible nightmare, but I couldn't quite remember what it was all about. All I could make out was that huge stars were falling and hit me, blinding me with an incredible light while also feeling an unbearable pain as I could feel my body bending and twithcing, changing to unnatural positions. There was alot more to the dream, but I couldn't remember. I went up to make some breakfast and noticed I had recieved some letters. I decided to eat my breakfast before checking the mail. With a satisfied belly, I went to the check my mail and got the usual boring stuff: bills, advertisement, newspaper and a yummy smelling letter with an inprint of a blue spark, looking just like the one I saw yesterday before heading ho...wait a second. I stared at the letter in my hands, forcing myself to bring back pictures of the incident from yesterday. I could have sworn they were the same. Questions surfaced. Was it really an illusion? Was someone spying at me? Then why? Did the same person send me this letter? Could this all have been a coincidence or a prank? Could it be my yesterday wish come true? I pushed the last question out of my mind. Again had the over optimistic brony version of me taken over. I let out a small giggle at the thought. I proceeded to open the letter, and this is what it said: "Dear Bright Light Please, do not put up a fiercefull fight for thy destiny shall be unraveled tonight Search for the place thou hold dear a high place other might see with fear Find the beautifully crafted red and white when your body tingles do not fight You'll find your happy wish come true All thanks to a sparkle blue. Sincerely, a Friend." Okay, this was definetly a prank. A few kids around the block used to tease and pull pranks on me for being a brony, but I am quite surprised at how they could make such a stunning poem. Further on that, they couldn't possibly have written it. Maybe they got an adult to help them? But how would they even come up with the idea and who in the WORLD would write such a thing? I wasn't going to go, since I'd rather not find out. But still, my happy wish come true? Yeah, right. Another piece of paper fell out of the envelope, catching my eye. * * * * * * I was up on the my favourite hill holding the letter and the small piece of paper that fell out of the envelope. On it I could read "Curiosity". Thats pretty much what drove me up to the hill (which is huge by the way). As the letter, or riddle as I prefer, said: "Search for the place you hold dear high place other fear bla bla doodle woodle Dingle berry werry perry something like that" (sorry :/ ) I pretty much figured out that the "I hold dear" and the "other might see with fear" parts tells me this hill is what it's talking about. I like it, and other people rarely even come here. But I can't put my finger on the red and white part. Maybe flowers with corresponding colors? Whatever. I started exploring around the church in search of something "red and white" but to no avail. By the way what could possibly be red and white? Chairs? Papers? A tree? Santa? (What is wrong with you brain) Suddenly I could hear police car sirens. Looking down the only path up to the hill I confirmed just what I heard: police cars. My first reaction was "Oh shit!" And I started panicking. I didn't want anyone to see me! What to do, what to do! I had no idea why I was panicking, but hey, what would you do if you saw three police cars with full volume sirens playing and driving right after you? Maybe not the same as I was about to do, but whatever. Quickly looking around, I saw a fence that blocks you from going down the bumpy edge of the hill. I bursted there before the cars could see me, and did an epic monkey vault (parkour move, look it up) right over the fence and the edge as I braced myself for a heavy landing. Now, I'm sure most of you would think "Oh no! Our favorite hero is about to do die! Somebody do something!". Well first, I'm not a hero, second, I train parkour (awesome, right?), Third, no one could do anything at that moment so forget it. Now back to reality. Damn. I had forgotten how tall the drop was, I would guess it was about 5-6 metres. Huuuuge drop, yeah, but the landing was mostly made of sticks and grass, luckily. Right as the top of my shoes touched the ground, I performed a roll, but my shoulder hit a fist sized rock while I did.  Imagine someone throwing a rock at you from a tall building and hitting your shoulder? Well, this was kind of how it felt. My shoulder hurt, but I was alive, so I shouldn't complain. Absorbing my surroundings, I spotted the stone wall I jumped down from, and asked myself why the hell I did this. It's not like I have broken the law or anything. Massaging my shoulder, I started to search for a way back. Then I saw something that would change my life forever. I had found a picnic carpet, just like those classical ones you see in movies, colored red and white, you know what I mean. It was just lying there fully spread, dirty and nothing on it except sticks and grass. I decided to sit on it and wait for my shoulder to hurt a little less. As I approached the carpet, I could feel a small tingling sensation in my belly. This reminded me of something, but what? The carpet was also looking awfully familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Ugh, my belly really started tingling an awful lot as I sat on the carpet. The tingling sensation started to spread through my body. It felt just like when you haven't moved your arm or foot for quite some time, you ge this feeling that thousands of ants are crawling under your skin. I tried to ignore it and layed myself down on the carpet, but it just wouldn't stop. Now I couldn't feel the upper of my legs and arms, and I started getting suspicious. Was the carpet, that was colored red white, the reason to all of... Then it hit me. Red and white! Of course! The letter meant this carpet all along! I was going to reach down to my pocket to pick it up, but I didn't have the energy. I tried again, only to realize that I couldn't feel my body at all! I was just lying there on my back looking up in the sky, while plagued by this immense tingling and now hurting feeling. I tried to scream for help, but I had no control of my body, I couldn't even move my eyes! "Is this how it feels to die?" I thought to myself. I didn't even try to fight my eyelids as they started to close. * * * * * * Darkness. That's all I could see. It was a very peaceful feeling. No worries, no problems, nothing but dark and quiet. Then I could sense light. The darkness was completely replaced by light. Everything was white. "Am I dreaming this?" I tried to say. What I heard scared me. My own voice...wasn't my own voice. It was deeper, followed by disturbing echoes. Another voice answered. "I see our message has reached you, for without it, you would certainly not be here, am I right?" The soothing voice was clearly from a female,  somewhat like Princess Celestia's voice, but at the same time not. "Who the hell are you, and where am I?!" I shouted, still trying to get used to my new voice. I could hear the other voice let out a light chuckle. "There will be plenty of time for those questions later, but as of now, you may wonder why you are here" the other voice said. I looked around, trying to find the source of the female voice, when I accidentally looked down. "WHERE THE HELL IS MY BODY?!?!" I screamed. Loud. I was truly starting to panic right now. I didn't have a body! What did this evil sicko do with it? "Now now, there is no reason to call us names, young one". Did she just... "Yes, We did just read your mind". No. Way. She just read my mind. How is that even possible? Magic maybe? Pfft. There is no such thing as mag... "Yes, you are right my dear, this is magic. And would you be so kind as to let us explain why you are here?" Arrgh! What's her problem! well, since she can read my mind, then 'please, do explain why I'm here'. "By the way, We can't really read your mind, it was all just assumptions". WHAT THE F- "That was just a joke, we can read your mind". "...I'm soo going to strangle you once I get my hands back..." I whispered. Either she didn't hear me, or completely ignored me. "As I was saying, the reason I brought you here is because I can sense evil disruptions in the world I come from. Have you possibly heard about the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic?" Her question surprised me. "Of course I know, I'm a brony!" "Oh, of course, how stupid off me. You see, I've had visions; something bad is about to happen in Equestria. I can't explain what, since my time is running out, so listen closely: I will send you to a town by the name Ponyville. I will make you stay in a spell store that is supposed to open today. You are the owner of this store and you will have your own personal assistant. Her name is Bluenight Moonlight and she will help you out in the store. But beware: no pony must know that you are human and what your task here in this world is. That is the first rule. The second rule is: don't hurt anypony physically. If you do, the wrath of Princess Celestia will be upon you, and...that's not fun at all. Third rule: no swearing. I'm not going to be as strict with this one, but if you do swear then it will be obvious that you are not from Ponyville. Break any of these rules, and I'll teleport you back here. Any questions before you go?" "Yeah, three. First, is all of this real? Second; what race will I be? And third; why did you suddenly change from saying "we" to"I"?" "That's alot of questions, but I...WE, are sure that you will find out everything on your own. Now go on, my dear, our time is up, and we must leave at once." Everything started to fade out and my vision became blurry, as did my mind. "W-wait! At least let me refer to you as something!" I shouted. "You can refer to us as the A.V.O.O.N. Now good luck." Everything went black again. As I woke up, I found myself laying in a very comfy bed with red blankets. I knew it! It was all just a dream! Although I was a bit sad, not being in Equestria, I was still glad to be awake. But now, where am I? I started scanning the room with my eyes, and noticed that I wasn't home at all! The room had what is normal for a room. A cupboard, drawer, windows, table and chairs, bed, night table with a cute little lamp. Maybe I blacked out and someone took me inside? But still, something was awfully off about this room. Everything was so...colorful. So I went out of the bed and stood up. However when I did this I started to lose balance, and it felt awkward too. So instead my body decided to fall down on my four, and I...wait, it's actually quite comfortable being on all four! Then the inevitable happened: I looked down. * * * * * * I looked down. My arms were...completely black, and my hands...weren't hands. They were...hooves? Then realization struck me: I was a pony! That's why everything was so colorful! My brony excitement kicked in, and I instinctively started to look for a mirror. There was one next to the window. I started to walk, but I stumbled and fell flat on my face. I groaned in pain as I started to stand up again. Now take it very carefully, one step at a time...and...there! My first step! I had officially taken my first step as a pony! "Yaaay..." I whispered, normally I would scream out of excitement, but this had to do. Slowly walking step by step towards the mirror, I got there and started looking at myself. What I saw made me even more excited. My coat was black as coal, my mane was short annd grey, my tail almost touched the floor (it was also grey), my eyes were also black, and best of all: I was a unicorn! I literally jumped around out of happiness, I was a unicorn! I always wanted to be able to use magic, and now my dream has come true! Oh, I almost forgot my cutie mark! I turned my head to look at my flank, but faceplanted on the floor instead. Apparently my body didn't like it's new shape and decided to punish me for it. After a few more faceplants I was finally able to look at my flank. My cutie mark was a...lightbulb. A lightbulb. Out of all the possible cutie marks in the world, I got a lightbulb. And it was turned off, too. No wonder my coat was completely black. But what does it mean? Am I good at making broken lightbulbs, or breaking them? I was furiously beating my mind with this question that I didn't notice the knocks on the door until they started getting louder. "May I come in?" A voice said. "Uh...yeah, come in!" I shouted. Why I said yes I have no idea. I didn't even ask who it is! Slowly the door opened, just to reveal a pegasus mare. Her coat was dark blue, her mane and tail were streaks of light blue slowly changing to dark blue, kind of like Rainbow Dash's mane, but with blue instead. She had blue eyes (enough blue already?!) and her cutie mark was a light blue crescent moon with a few white stars around it. She was beautiful. I was staring at her mouth agape, and didn't notice that she was trying to tell me something. "I said, good morning!" "W-w-wha-what now?" I stammered, snapping out of dream land. Another pony! Amazing! And a pegasus one too! She facepalmed, or in this case, facehoofed. "Didn't you hear me? I said 'good morning!' Are you deaf or what." "O-oh, I'm sorry, I think I spaced out for a moment. G-good morning!" I said, nervously. She raised an eyebrow. "Sir, it's in the middle of the afternoon. We don't say 'good morning' unless it's morning, in case you didn't know." I was completely dumbfounded. She had caught me off guard. "G-g-gaah..." I just stood there mouth agape. "And would you stop staring at my flank like a creep?" She said angrily. "W-what? No! I-I'm not staring at your..." She cut me off before I could finish. "Don't think I'm an idiot, I'm used to ponies like you, you are a creature from another world and got teleported here by some godlike creature, and she said that if anypony knew that you are not from this world, she'll send you back, and you don't want that." My jaw hit the floor. How the hell did she know all that? I'm sure I could feel the A.V.O.O.N.S. magic wrapping around me right now. A smirk appeared on her face, slowly becoming a grin. she started to giggle a little bit before bursting out into laughter and fell on the floor rolling around laughing. I think my jaw just went through the floor hitting the next floor. Again was I completely and utterly dumbfouned. "You should see the look on your pfffa....pfffa...PFFACE!" She forced out before bursting into another round of laughter. My jaw must have hit the core of the Earth right now, since it really started to feel like my jaw burned. She stood up, still laughing a bit. "Anyway, my name is Bluenight Moonlight, and you must be Bright Light I assume. Nice to meet you." She lifted her hoof towards me and held it there before I realized she wanted a handshake...HOOFshake. God, I've got to stop doing that. So I lifted my hoof and...wait, what did she just say? Bright Light? Oh, I assume that must be my name, then. Although it does seem a little lame...doesn't fit me at all. So we shook our hooves and she went on telling me how she heard about working as an assistant at this spell store (obviously I'm working at a spell store) and came today since this was the first day to open. "Oh, and by the way, it's nine o'clock in the morning, I was just messing with you" again was I dumbfounded. "You are going to open at ten, am I correct?" "Uh, yeah! That's right, ten o'clock, in one hour, right?" I said. "I don't know, you tell me" she said, and started giggling some more, before going out of the door. With my newly acquired body, I started to follow her out. We arrived at what seemed to be a small corridor. In the middle of the corridor was some stairs going down to my right, and at the far end was a door. Right in front of the stairs was a second door with big letters in blue saying "WC" (I guess we all know what that means). She went down the stairs, me following put, as if she was my guide or something. I still had to explore the surroundings of this mysterious spell store without letting her know it...somehow. After going down the stairs, I was met with the most amazing sight! This place was some kind of huge library, and I mean huuuge, filled with all sorts of books! Since I'm working at a spell store, all these books must contain spells! The A.V.O.O.N. must have known that I'm fascinated by unicorns and magic, since this could hardly have been a coincidence. There were basic spells, advanced spells, high level spells, transformation spells, random spells, defense spells, attack spells, hell, there even was a tutorial section! I'm sure Twilight Sparkle would love this place at first eyesight. "You are looking at this place as if you've never been here before" she said. "It's true" I said. I had a plan. She made fun of me, I'll make fun of her. "Eh, beg your pardon?" "It's true, I've never been here before" I said. She stopped and I accidentally bumped into her. "So let me get this straight: you, the owner of this store, have never been here before?" "Nope. Never. This whole place is new to me" I said. She turned and looked me seriously in the eyes. "But how is that even possible? If you've never been here, then how..." Her eyes shot wide she stopped talking and stared slightly to the side of me, as if there was something right behind me. I turned around, but nothing was there. Well, except a whole load of books. "Y-your cutie m-mark..." She stammered. I turned around, and what I saw made me drop my jaw. //-------------------------------------------------------// Unsurprising surprise //-------------------------------------------------------// Unsurprising surprise Oh, hello again. Remember me? Of course you do, or you wouldn't be reading this right now, right? Well, I just wanted to tell you a bit about the..."interesting" events I've been going through today. Yes, yes, I know, you want to know what happened to my cutie mark, but that can wait just a moment, alright? Wow, what sudden change of events. One second I'm walking around on Earth, then I'm talking to this faceless...thing, calling herself the A.V.O.O.N. Saying I'm going to Ponyville. Of course, my heart would normally flutter at this moment, but...that just didn't work out so well. I mean, it was so hard to believe, my voice changed, and I had no body. How was I able to even be excited at this moment? But I am now, writing this. Oh, but the way, I can't tell you where I am right now, or things would be...weird, you would probably understand nothing, and at the same time understand enough to just stop reading right now and rage quit. Alright, I'll give you a small hint: we're hiding. from them. "Who?" You might ask. But I can't tell. No, not yet... Oh,  I'm sorry for wasting your time. You wanted to know what happened to my cutie mark? Of course, here you go... * * * * * * "Well, this was interesting" i muttered. My cutie mark was...how to put it out, glowing? Sparkling? Blinding? Not really blinding, but it was emanating light, although not that much. It looked as if the lightbulb was turned on, glowing. But still, a glowing cutie mark? Wow. Why? I have no idea. Bluenight was just staring, with a look of shock and surprise on her face. "A-amazing" she stammered. "How did you do that?" "I have no idea" Just as I finished saying 'idea' it stopped glowing abruptly and went back to it's normal boring self. Bluenight stared with even more shock and surprise this time, and I found myself snickering, before bursting out into laughter. Her expression was priceless! If I had a camera right now I would take a picture in a heartbeat, that's how funny it was. I stopped and she shook her head. "What just happened!?" She shouted. "I don't know, you tell me" I snickered some more, but she shot me a do-that-again-and-you-will-regret-it glare, which made me stop. I didn't really care why my cutie mark did that, so I trotted up to a bookcase and brought down a book with a hoof as if nothing had happened. I still had no idea how to use magic, so I decided now was a good time to start, starting with the most basic spell: telekinesis. I always wanted to do telekinesis in real life, so I went to websites and tutorial stuffs on the internet to learn how. Sadly, nothing worked, probably because I was so impatient I would quit after five seconds and do something else. The book said that in order to use magic, the most important weapon was determination. If a unicorn has enough determination, he/she would be able to do any spell. well, most spells atleast. Every unicorn has some sort of limit on how much magic they can use, measured in D.M.M.A, short for Diagnostically Measured Magical Affinity. Various ponies has different ways of knowing how... "Hey, I was reading that!" I shouted. Bluenight had snatched the book out of my hands...no, hooves! She snatched the book out of my hooves and was flapping her wings in the air, preventing me from getting it back. "First you tell me what the hay happened!" She said. "I already told you, I have no idea!" Great. Barely known each other for ten minutes, and already we have our first argument. "Yeah, you know what? I don't believe that" she said. "How comes you say that?" I asked, starting to get mad. "Well, first off, you didn't  seem very surprised when it happened, so you've got to know why it happened. Secondly, I've been shouting this question multiple times while you were reading this Celestia-forsaken book, and you didn't even notice me!" What? I didn't notice her? I must have really delved deep into that book. But how will I answer without revealing something? Come on, Rex, think, think, think! *gasp* that's it! "Well, it happened alot before, don't you think I'm used to it now? It's MY cutie mark, anyway, none of your business" I said. Hopefully my lie would come through. "There! Look! There it is again!" She pointed at me, while I turned around to look. Yep, it was glowing again. I used all my willpower not to drop my jaw and look surprised. I turned to her and opened my muzzle to talk, but she was not there! Where was she? I turned around and saw that she was staring intensely at my cutie mark. "Hey, stop staring at my flank like that!" I bursted out without thinking. She jerked back. " no! I wasn't staring at your...I mean, I was staring at your...no, I mean..." She looked down and her cheeks started to go red. "Are you...blushing?" I asked. "WHAT!!? I'm not blushing!" Her whole face went completely red. That was absolutely adorable. "If you want me to forgive you, then start by giving me that book" I said, pointing on the object she held in her hooves. She frowned, but handed...no, hoofed? She hoofed me the book (is that how you say it?). So now I could finally go back to reading. Now where was I... Ah, that's right. Various ponies has different ways of knowing how to measure their D.M.M.A. The most common way is that a pony can feel how much they have left, but some lack this ability, although it's very rare. Those without this abilty can use a spell to check it, but it will constantly drain their D.M.M.A, while others can bla bla bla yadda yadda etc. Now there was a lot of stuff that didn't tell me how to use telekinesis, so I just skipped to the part on how to use the spell. It read, in order to perform the spell, just imagine some kind of invisible power enveloping the desired object and lift it. Pretty much the exact same way back on earth, except there it never worked. I looked around. There were a lot of things to try this on, like books, chairs, cups, paintings, etc, so I decided to try it on the book I was reading. I spread my legs a little bit to gain position and started, slowly but surely, to do as the instructions said. Truth be told, after countless tries as a human, I didn't expect it to work. Now imagine my expression when the book rocketed up and teared down several planks from the roof. Hehe...lolleries. Lots of lolleries. (I really hate you sometimes, brain.) Suprisingly, Bluenight didn't say anything. She actually looked kinda amused. After several minutes of training, well, after what felt like several minutes, I perfected it. So I could basically levitate an object around. You have no idea how amazing it feels to be able to lift something with your mind just like that. And my horn. Oh my god the horn. It feels like I'm being scratched at spots I didn't know I had that have been itching for ages. And having a horn certainly feels...weird. I tried touching it with my hoof. It felt just like a hard rock of some kind, until I knocked on it with my hoof. The following moments went by with me rolling around on the floor, agonized by the pain surging through my body. Bluenight was chuckling. "You shouldn't have done that" she said. Why did those words feel nostalgic to me? I didn't say anything. Finally the pain subsided, and I stood up, a slight headache paining me. "Please remind me not to do that again" i said. I looked around, until I found what I searched for (I was getting complaints because of this part, so I'll tell you: the object was a clock. Happy now?). There was fifteen minutes left until the store would open, so I decided, why not go out and make some friends? I started to visualize being greeted by Pinkie Pie, and then she would hold a party, and then she would introduce me to everypony, and...wow, I'm just rambling on right now. But it's really hard to contain my excitement. "Hey Bluenight, do you think you could take care of the store for a few minutes while I go out and explore a bit?" I asked. "Oh, I wouldn't go out if I were you." She said. "Huh? Why not?" I asked. "Because the Pegasky force are about to release bombs over Ponyville any second now." She said, raising an eyebrow. "Pega-what now?" I asked. "The Pegasky force. They will drop the bombs right about..." She looked at the clock "...now". "Bombs? What are you tal..." That's all I said before I heard a huge explosion and the whole building started rumbling. I lost balance and fell to the floor. I could barely make out all the books falling out from their shelves, as I instinctively scanned the area for a place to hold on to. I found a random pole and held on to it for my dear life. Closing my eyes, I waited for the rumbling to stop. After a moment, the rumble finally stopped. I opened my eyes and looked for that darn pegasus. She had been levitating all this time, so the earthquake had no effect on her. I opened my mouth but she stopped me. "Don't release just yet, there'll be more coming any moment now." Ha! That's what she said! Ugh, what a terrible pun. I held on even more than before. I was willing to do anything as long as I would survive this nightmare. And soon the earthquake came back. If I thought the last one was bad, it was nothing compared to the next one that came. I could barely manage to hold on to the pole, while I saw pretty much every single book falling out of their shelves. It was a truly sad sight to see, but I couldn't care more, as wave after wave of earthquakes and explosions came, one more fiercer than the other. Strange thing is, nothing broke from the explosions. The third one took it's toll on me, as I lost grip from the pole. I can't quite remember what happened after, but I think...gah, who am I kidding, I can't remember shit, so don't ask. * * * * * * I woke up. At first, I didn't know where I was, so I opened my eyes. I was greeted by a wooden roof. I looked to the right, and saw a wooden wall. I looked to the left, and I saw some kind of blue blob. I think my vision must have been blurry, so I squinted my eyes. After a while, I could properly see what it was. A pony with blue coat and wings, mane and tail going from light blue to dark blue and a cutie mark of a crescent moon with a few stars around it. "Feeling better?" She asked. It took me a moment to realize she was asking me. "I don't...I mean...what...uh...what happened?" I asked. "Don't you remember? You passed out at the earthquake." "I did wha..." Then it all came back to me. How the earthquake had started, then how I grabbed the pole, all the books that fell out of their shelves, how I lost grip of the pole and somehow fell unconscious. Then waking up here. I noticed she was holding my hoof, but I didn't make any attempts at removing it. It actually felt kinda nice. "How long was I out?" I asked. "Two days" she said. "Ah, okay, two days..." I mumbled, "so I was...wait, two DAYS?!" I blurted out. "Yup, two days." "Are you absolutely sure it's not two hours or something?" "Nope, two days. You were unconscious for two days. Oh, and your horn is broken." "WHAT!?" I screamed, my hooves instantly went up to my forehead. Oh, how I wish I didn't do that. "What was that for?" I had tears in my eyes from the pain. "Well, after your fatal little mishap, with only ten minutes before opening, I was forced to drag you up the stairs (and don't get me started on heavy you are), pick up all the books and place them in their respective places, fix the furniture, all while there were impatient customers waiting outside. So I had to open thirty minutes later than normal. You're lucky I could come up with an excuse, or we would have lost this place to the government." I only have these words to say. Mind = Blown. I just looked at her for multiple moments. Then I looked down in shame. "I...I'm sorry..." I said, deeply ashamed of what had happened. "Oh, don't worry, it wasn't your fault." She said with a smile. "If it weren't for that blasted air force..." She frowned. I think she owes me an explanation right now. "But what about them?" I asked. "About what?" "The...what's it called...Pegasky force. Who and what are they?" "What? You never heard of them?" She said. "Uh...well...I...I guess I'm kinda new to this..." I think I blushed a bit. "Oh, alright" she said with a smile. "The Pegasky force, or just the force, as I like to call them, are the current Equestria's curse. Oh, and they're pegasi, by the way." OH, AND DID YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE TWO EYES, AND CAN SEE WITH THEM?! "They like to hide in their stupid cloud-fortress they call Cloudsdale, attacking us ground-living ponies whenever they feel like it, just because they can. They  think they are better than the other races, and they have years supplies of food and water, stuffing their little bellies up there while we fight for food down here." But, you're a pegasus, didn't you live in Cloudsdale or something?" I asked. "Yes, I did live there, and I have a family living there." then she frowned. "Well, I had, until they completely ditched me when I was sixteen years old. Both my sisters and mother. And I had a little brother, too. He was the only pony I could trust and share my secrets with. He was only seven years old when I left..." She looked down a little bit, and I could see a tear rolling down her cheek. "Oh...I...I'm  sorry to hear that." I truly was. But she quickly recomposed herself. "Oh, don't worry about that. I got over it." Yeah, I'm sure you did (sarcasm). "So you said you left?" I asked, just to change the subject and get her in a better mood. "Yes, I did. Three days after they left me, I found out about this whole Pegasky force thing. Don't ask how, please." "Alright. Please go on" I said. Without further ado, she went on. "I thought it was so cruel back then, so I left as fast as I could, without telling anypony. I just wish I could have told my brother before I left..." She didn't seem to be able to contain anymore, because she started to release tears, sniffing loudly. Don't ask me why I did this, But out of instinct, I bent forward, bringing her into a tight hug. She tried to push me away, but I didn't budge. "Hey! What are you doing? Let go!" She kept trying to push. "Nope." I answered, not releasing. "Why aren't you releasing me?" Her attempts became weaker. "Because you're not even trying to push me away." I said, still not releasing. Her attempts at pushing me away stopped completely. "You know, Bluenight, you lied to me." I said, sincerity in my voice. "I...what?" She seemed baffled by my statement. "You lied to me. You told me you had gotten over it, didn't you?" "Over what?" "Your brother." "Uh...yes?" "Obviously, that is not the case. You have kept it inside of you, trying to get over it, but you couldn't. You long to see him again, and I think you should visit him, am I not right?" This time she really pushed herself out of the hug and looked at me with anger in her eyes. "Do you have any idea how difficult it is? If I were up there they would kill me on sight! Even worse if I were to be seen with him, I would doom all of Equestria!" "Huh? Why is that?" I asked. "Because..." She sniffed, " ...how do you think I knew there was an attack two days ago?" "Well, uh..." Then it hit me. "Oh..." "He's the transceiver! He's the one who monitors all the information! That's how he knows when it happens. He found out about the Force, so he sends the information to all of Equestria's radios, unnoticed!" "But how? If he sent it, shouldn't the Pegasky force be able to notice it?" I asked. "Oh, but that's where you're wrong" she said, a grin slowly creeping up on her face. "You see, my brother is a genius. He has been tinkering with machines since he was a foal, and he learned all by himself, nopony taught him. He even baffles me sometimes!" She laughed a bit, but quickly turned serious again. "But that's also the reason he can't come down. If he did, he would leave Equestria at huge risk. You have no idea how big of a responsibility he has on his shoulders." "But wait, why doesn't the elements of harmony fix all of this?" I asked her. "Nope, that's out of the question." She said. "But why? Why can't they just fix everything with their magic of friendship, as they always do?" She stared into my eyes with a serious look on her face. "Because they all died 500 years ago."
