Chapters I'm Mon Ami. I'm hated everywhere. No friends. I've chosen to move to Ponyville to be happy and meet new ponies. This is where my adventure begins, and where it might end.
"Thank you," I said to the airballoon pony.
"Yep. Noo problem," she says happily.
I then leave the air-balloon area and start flying around the new town. Thinking that if I meet another pony, other than the air-balloon pony, I would have some friends. That was when I accidentally bumped into a very handsome unicorn.
"Oh my Celestia, I'm so sorry," I say nervously.
"No. I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention," he said apologetically helping me pick up my stuff. "I'm Taboo. I see you're new to Ponyville. Do you need a place to stay?"
"Uhhh. Yes. I do. But I'm staying with the pony at the library," I explain, leaving. "Uhh. Thank you. Bye."
As I'm walking towards the library, I remembered that I didn't give him my name. I open the door, and look around. Books. Just books. Nothing but books.
"Hello?" I ask. Hoping to get a response.
"What! Who's there!" some pony shouts. "Oh it's you. I'm Musa. Welcome to Ponyville."
"Oh hi. I'm Mon Ami. Uh... French for "my friend"," I say.
"Hi. Uh. Let me show you to your room," Musa tells me as I walk behind her. "This is where you will be staying, so make yourself at home."
"Ummm. Thanks," I whisper.
I start walking around the room which is quite a nice size, and am planning out where I will put my things. I start unpacking but get done early but I only had books to unpack so it was just a couple minutes. I go to my bed and make it. The covers have hearts on them that look like my cutie mark. Nothing special really. I get up on my bed with a nice thick book, which was about 2 hooves thick by the way. I'm about a quarter of the way through, when I hear a knock on my door.
"Come in," I say, with my muzzle literally in the book. So close that I could almost smell it.
"Uhh. Hey. Mona? Can I call you that? Uhh, O.K.. Some pony wants to see you. He says that his name is Taboo. Zebra unicorn mix. Can I send him up?" Musa asks me.
"Yeah. Wait, Taboo?!" I whisper with a scratchy voice.
"Uh, yah. You know him?" Musa asks me again.
"Yes. I bumped into him earlier today. It was awkward. I didn't even know him and now I guess he thinks we're friends. Oh well. I'll be here," I say blandly.
I go back to my book as she leaves the room. A couple minutes later, she comes back with Taboo. He says hi to me but I'm too involved with the book that I didn't say hi back. Then he tilts his head to the right and just stares at me as I look out the corner of my eye. HE JUST STARES AT ME! Like a creep! After a minute of staring, he lays down by me on my bed, without an invite. As he breathes out, I breathe in and smell his mint smelling mouth odor. I nearly fall off the bed when he hugs me. That was when I feel a big lump with something hard in it. It felt like a book.
"Is there a book in you're satchel?" I ask him.
"Uh yeah. You dropped it when we bumped into each other. You hurried off so fast that I couldn't give it back. You didn't even give me your name," Says Taboo looking at me like I'm a filly.
"Yeah sorry 'bout that. It's Mon Ami. Two words. But you can call me Mona," I say looking down shyly.
"Mona? What's wrong? Something is bothering you. I can sense those things. It's kind of a curse with my name Taboo and all," Taboo jokes.
I laugh at that. Normally I'm just a pony that is always blue, but he makes me happy out of all the ponies that have tried over the years.
"Thanks," I say still giggling. "I don't really know any pony that can pop jokes like that about themselves. They mostly just ignore me because I'm the "dweeb" that every pony hates."
"I don't think you're a dweeb. I think you're beautiful," he compliments.
After that I just stare at him blankly. He looks back with a meaningful smile. Like deep deep down it's true.
"Uh, I gotta go help Musa. She has a book sale going on later today and I need to hand out the flyers. Uh, you can let yourself out if you want to go, or stay as long as you want. Ummm. Bye," I say, speed walking out of my room.
3 hours later, he was looking at my books and was making a mental note of them I guess. he took ten minutes just to leave after that and I walked him out.
"That was fun," he said out of nowhere. "What are you doing tomorrow?"
"Uhh. Just staying in my room and reading all the books in the library until I finish with the door locked. So yeah that's actually it," I explain.
"Do you want to go to Sugar Cube Corner with me? Pinkie Pie is having a party for your arrival. She explained to me the hunch she had about you," He said.
Today I'm meeting Taboo at his house. He gave me directions but I still don't understand where to go. It's only 8:00 am so I have time to read. I grab a new book from the shelf in my room called "Night Mare's". It's good, but it got banned from the library years ago. Once I'm done with the book, it's already 8:00 pm. I look up and notice two ponies sitting in the door way. Pinkie Pie and Taboo. After my ears go down, Pinkie leaves and Taboo gets up with his brows furrowed.
"Mona. Why didn't you come to your party? I was gonna have you come to my house first. What happened?" He asked me.
"I lost track of time!" I cry, with hot tears streaming down my face. "I read "Night Mare's" and since it's banned I chose to read it."
I look at him meaningfully. He tells me to follow him and I obey. 10 minutes later we are at Sweet Apple Acres.
"You need to meet somepony. He knows you already and he just, cares about your feelings. So just follow me," Taboo explains.
I follow him to the barn and stop dead in my tracks. I start backing up when a blue sparkly haze surrounds me.
"No way are you ditching again," Taboo tells me.
"Tab! I didn't ditch you! I got involved in my book!" I shout at him. "I can't tell you why I want to leave. It might hurt your feelings. Tabs, I can't say because I love you more than anything and I don't want to hurt you."
Then a blank questioning stare told me that I needed to explain. But I couldn't. I couldn't hurt him more than I already had today. But I was too late. Braeburn walked out of the barn.
"Mo? What are you doing here? Taboo told me his Mare Friend was having issues and needed some pony to talk to. I'm glad you moved back! Maybe we can hang out some more. I'm sorry our relationship didn't work out the first time," says Braeburn apologetically.
After Brae was done, I looked sadly at Tabs. His right eye was twitching so I decided to bolt. I flew faster than Rainbow Dash and made it to my room faster than a unicorn teleporting. I locked myself in and asked Musa to put unicorn powerless charms surrounding the main area. She accepted and did the spell which only she could undo with my permission. 20 minutes later, I hear Taboo pounding on the door.
"Mona let me in!" He shouted.
"No. I'm too embarrassed to," I tell him through the door.
"I'm coming in no matter what. You can't stop me. I love you Mona. I'm soo sorry about earlier. I was kinda not expecting that you went out with Brae. He's my closest dude friend. Please come out," Taboo tells me.
I didn't reply. I told him no and then there was nothing. He probably left. I then ask Musa to take the spell down throught the locked door. That was when Taboo popped into my room.
"Mona. Please talk to me. I love you no matter what," He says.
I still don't say anything. I get up slowly and walk out. I tell him I need to go for awhile and continue walking. I make my way to A.J.'s stand and ask her how she would feel if and ex-stallion friend met up with you after you got a new one. She told me just to dump both unless I loved one more than the other. Then date the one that has most of my love. I told her thanks and walked away and went to the park. I always have a book under my right wing so I started reading once I got to a bench far away from the main area. I love this book and I reread it every day, making sure I can actually quote something smart that the author wrote. It's called "Mare in the Moon" and it's a book that describes Luna's experience in the moon after she got out. Minutes later I fell asleep, having the worst nightmare in Equestria.
"Help!" I scream at the top of my lungs. "Help me! Please!"
"Child," says a voice that was familiar. "Come here. You are very safe when I am here."
"Luna? Luna where are you. Tell me where you are. Please," I ask.
"I am everywhere. Just come to where you feel safe," she says.
I walk towards a bush. With my eyes closed. Calmly. I only see Braeburn. I love him too but I have caused so much pain that I can't decide who I love the most. I keep walking and fall down the hole at the base where I saw a heart in my mind going down. Then I keep walking. I open my eyes and spot Luna and Celestia. They were with Brae. Celestia tells me to lay down by her and I do. Brae is by Luna and is looking at me nervously.
"Mo. Are you alive?" asks Brae.
"Are you kidding me? Why would you say something like that Brae? And yes I'm alive. Duh," I say sarcastically.
"Mon Ami. You need to wake up. You're asleep. We've helped you up to now. We will help you more but you need to wake up," says Tia.
I obey and open my eyes in the real world. I only see Brae in my vision.
I'm in Brae's room. How I got there, I have no idea. He's telling me that I was near the bottom of the pond I was by. Then I look around more. I see a pic of me and him when we were together. I miss those times. He would always let me do what I felt was best for me. I loved him then but it didn't feel right when we got serious. His bed is now sopping wet because my body was all wet. I look around more and saw Tia and Luna.
"What are you doing here princesses?" I ask.
"Brae told Spike that you weren't breathing so we came quickly. Turns out that he saved your life himself. Brave stallion. You're lucky to have him," said Celestia proudly.
I smile slightly at that. I tell him thank you with a small kiss on his face and try to get up. I fail which is embarrassing. Brae tells me that I was ill and I needed to stay put for a week. A tear slides down my face.
"I need to get my books. I need to read. Can I please go get them Brae? With your assistance that is?" I ask.
"Sure. Let's go," he tells me.
Minutes later we make it to the library. We walk to my room and suddenly I'm embarrassed. My ears go down and I flop to the ground. I have several tears run down my face and then I really cry. Tears running without end. I knew I was emotional but I never really knew I was this. He bends down and then we kiss. A true loving kiss. I loved him more than Taboo. I loved him more than any of my friends. Braeburn was mine and I knew it. No pony else could tear us apart anymore.
"I love you," I whisper.
"Same here. I missed you. Once I saw you again, I knew that I still had feelings for you. Please. Come with me, live at Sweet Apple. Big Mac and I will build a cottage for us. Just us. No other ponies," He whispers back.
"O.K., I'll live with you. Just let me grab my things and we can go," I say.
I'm super cold and I'm slowly walking to my shelf with my bag hanging on the end. I grabbing and swing it over my back, landing perfectly. I grab 8 books and start walking towards my desk as I remember that I should write a letter to Taboo. I begin to write telling him I'm sorry but we need to stop the relationship that we have because I'm going out with some pony else. I tear up at the last part but I know it is for the better of us. I seal it up and stick it on my door as I walk to Brae. I leave a letter for Musa telling her that I'm living at Sweet Apple Acres and if Taboo asks where I went she shouldn't tell him. I walk out of the library with my new stallion friend as we head to my new home. I asked Brae where I would sleep and he replied telling me that I could use A.J.'s room while she is in Canterlot visiting Twi. We make it to the barn and I get help walking up the stairs. I walk to A.J.'s room alone and zoom to get under the blankets to be warm. He follows me in and kisses me forehead. Telling me that he loves me again leaves the room turning off the light. I go to sleep happily and didn't have a nightmare in 2 hours. Then my dream changed. I was in a different room and was scared to near death. The room was compact and felt like a box. It was a couple hooves wise so about 10 hooves, and only 5 hooves high. I'm claustrophobic so my fears didn't help. I'm crying buckets of tears hoping I could die in here to escape. But then I realize the box I'm in is in a room, with 8 mares and 9 stallions. I sit up in the box and the top opens. I know only one pony here. It's Taboo. He walks over with a very weird face on and it looks like he wants me to go to the bedroom with him. I'm thinking I can't do it cause I'm with Brae again and I don't want to hurt him again.
I back away to where the other mares are. I pretend to chat with them to make sure he can't catch me. I then sit down and burrow under the blankets and pillows in the area. I close my eyes and cover them with my hooves. I open them and remove my hooves after several minutes passed. I look up and see Luna.
"Princess," I say. "Can you help me? I need to escape. I don't love Taboo. He was a rude, self centered jerk. I can't love any pony that treats a mare like that. So will you help?"
"I cannot child. You must face your fears and protect yourself from them. Go. I will be here all the way through. I will help when needed and protect you from the dangers that you can't handle," explains Luna.
"O.K. I will. Thank you princess. But what should I do. I don't want to face any pony right now. But O.K. Goodbye," I say thankful.
Then I walk away and go to Taboo. I'm telling him that we will only be friends. Even in my dreams or nightmares. Then he's telling me that he still loves me and we need to start over. We argue for about 20 minutes and then we stop. I hug him but Taboo just pushes me away, telling me to say sorry and that we will get back together. I tell him sorry but that's all I could do. I start to turn but he touches my face and kisses me strongly. I truly hate this about him but it's hard to stop. Each kiss is great and hard to ignore. But I finally stop and walk towards the mares and Luna again. I see a beautiful mare with a brown tail and mane with a neon pink streak going through. She's white and her cutie mark is a heart with a pencil overlapping it. I feel jealous and nervous to ask what her talent is. Instead she comes over to me and tells me her name and what she does for a living. Her name is Rhiannon which means 'Great Queen' and her talent is drawing. She is very perfect with the way she did things. Walk, flip her mane out of the way, flick her tail at the idiot stallions, and the way she smiled. I don't want to go out with her, but I just can't do those type of things right. I burrow under the pillows and blankets again and fall asleep right after I tell Luna thank you for all the help she did.
I wake up screaming with the whole family of Apples in the room. Brae is hugging me tightly sitting on the bed, shushing me and calming me down. I lean into him hard burying my face into his chest. Whimpering 'I can't' as I cry. He's still holding me and constantly asking what is wrong. But I still can't. Macintosh, Granny, and Apple Bloom leave the room once I've calmed down.
"Mo? Do you want me to stay in this room with you tonight?" He asks me.
I nod my head in reply and he crawls under with me to stay the night. When I'm with him, I always feel safe. No pony else can make me feel that way. He kisses my forehead as I fade off to sleep, my eyes drooping as I try to keep them open. Right before I'm out he tells me that I will be safe with him and that he loves me to the ends of Equestria.
I go to sleep soundly and only see black. Then two white mares walk out of the distance and come towards me. One I recognize as Celestia but the other I do not. As the other pony gets closer I start to remember the dream before. Rhiannon, the unicorn with the talent of drawing. My ears go down as they finally stop before me. Rhiannon bows to me and I to her and Tia. I ask what is going on and why Rhiannon was here. Rhiannon tells me to call her Rhia as she explains why she came. Then Tia tells me that more friends may end my sorrows and that Rhia is a great mare to be with for a beginning friend. I understand as Rhiannon and I become great friends.
"Where do you live Rhia?" I ask her.
"Ponyville. In Sugar Cube Corner. Will I see you there tomorrow?" She asks me.
"Sure. See you tomorrow," I say. "Bye. Thank you Tia. Is it O.K. if I call you that Princess?" I ask.
"Heh. Yes my child. That is just fine. And your welcome my child. Wake up now. You need to wake up," says Tia as her voice begins to sound more like Brae.
I gasp as I realize that he is the one crying and giving me mouth to mouth. I just stop moving and wriggle out of his grasp. I then hug him and he stares at me wide eyed. He says I'm alive so I mustn't have breathed for a while. I have a tendency to stop breathing when I'm in awe. I continue hugging him and then we separate, as I tell him I'm going to Sugar Cube Corner. He tells me that I can do whatever I want as long as it's safe. I agree and walk out the door happy to meet Rhiannon for the first time in real life. I continue walking and start to fly and speed up to get there faster. I make it to the sweets shop and walk inside and I ask for the white mare named Rhiannon living here. They go and grab her and we hug. Then both of us mares go to the park and hang around while we play with the Frisbee that she had grabbed from the room. We play and as we get tired we start to head to Sweet Apple. Once we get there, I show her to Brae and the instantly know each other and I don't know how. Rhiannon tells me that they were in the same class when Cheerily was at the school as a new teacher and have been friends ever since.
"Cool. Uhh. Well I'm gonna be right back. I need to get something from Big Mac," I say making an excuse to leave.
I walk then quickly fly to the Library. I go to my once room to grab the rest of my books and bedding. But the lights were on and then I saw my ex. I told him to leave me alone but he wouldn't agree to do so, so hoping this would get to him, I told him that I would disappear from the world and he would have to live with it. It worked and he left telling me sorry. I go to grab the rest of my stuff when I hear a new voice. It was male but I didn't know who it was. I turn and I saw a very nice looking unicorn. It wasn't Taboo just to make that clear. He said his name was Star and heard about me. I just replied with an embarrassed nod and left. Head down with the hooded top that I put on hood over my head, I walked back to Sweet Apple. I got there faster than I expected and saw a small cottage right in the middle of the apple acre. I had also seen a tree house in the biggest tree and I flew to the door right away but had a 'NO ENTRY' sign on it. And then I heard Mac and Brae inside.
"HEY!" I shouted to get their attention. "Can I come in?"
"Uh. Hang on Mo. I need to write something down for ya. Just for you. So uno momento porfavor," said Brae.
"K. Uh I'm gonna be in the cottage. Bye," I said in the way when I'm kinda down.
"Done! Come in Mona!" He shouts.
I fly in and see all the ponies that are there. I cry tears of joy and hug them all. I tell them thank you for doing this and then I ask why. Granny explains that since A.J. is coming back the boys decided to build me a private room on the farm so I could be part of the family. I smile and hug her. Then they leave leaving only me and my best bud. Braeburn. There is something on the desk that is in my "room".
"Well. Um. I have something to ask you," says Braeburn shyly.
"Yes?" I ask him.
"Uh well," he says bending down while opening the little box. "Mon Ami. Will you marry me?"
"Uh. I need to think. Can I sleep on this?" I ask anxiously. "Please. I just need to. I love you and all but this is just happening all too fast."
"Oh yeah. Sure. Go ahead and sleep on it. Night my love," he says.
He was down and I knew it. I know his 'I'm down but I'm not gonna show it on my face' voice. I kiss him and he perks up. Brae smiles and I feel happy inside.
"Stay here tonight," I say. "I don't want you to go. Stay. Please."
"O.K. I'll stay. I love you Mo. Let's go to sleep," he says soothingly.
We get to the bed which wasn't very far away and we get under the covers. It was a pretty big bed so we had tons of room. I roll to my right side and he does too. I'm close to sleep when he nuzzles my ear. My brain goes fuzzy and I make a slight giggle. I roll to my left side and nuzzle him back. He kisses my muzzle and I fall asleep dreaming of what might happen in the night if he was still awake.
I have a searing pain in my gut. I fly to get up and I zoom into the house. I run to the bathroom and Brae follows right behind when he sees me go past. He slams the door shut as I start vomiting. He pats my back lightly and when I'm done I flush it down.
"What happened last night?" I ask droopily.
"Uh. Well, we just slept in the same bed, I nuzzled your ears and you nuzzled me. So nothing much. But may I ask why you're puking?" He says.
"Uh. My stomach hurts. And to answer last nights question. Yes I will marry you Brae. I love you," I finish with a kiss.
"Love you too. Now we are engaged. Love you Mo. Let's go get breakfast and do this," says Brae.
I got my breakfast with my new Fiance and we went to my own little bungalow. We turn off all the lights and close the curtains. I hop onto my bed and crawl under the covers and Brae follows. We turn towards each other and start kiss strongly. He puts his front legs around me and pulls on my hair with his teeth. I make a noise that I haven't heard before. He kisses my neck and I pull his bangs as well. I pull him closer to me so we share a small space. We both roll so that I am on top of him and then I fall off with an oomph. He lands on top of me and I kiss him quickly and slide out from under him. We both get back on the bed and do some more. He kisses my neck more and moves down. Then he stops. I move away and he does the same.
"I'm sorry. I-I-I need some space. Uh. I need to go do something," I stutter.
I pull on a sweater and grab a pregnancy test thing from my desk. I always kept one just in case it happened. I run to the bathroom in the house and do a test. I look and I was horrified. In just those 3 minutes I was positive. I was going to have a foal. I walk out slowly and exit the house. I go up to my bungalow crying.
"Oh my Celestia. Mona. What happened?" He asks worried.
I explain what happened and told him the results. He stared at me and I back to him. A smile creeps up on his face, and he whispers in my ear that we were going to be parents. I start to cry more but these were happy tears. In a month I think, I would be able to go see if it was a boy or girl. I fly to the bed and start reading a book. I tell my fiance to come over and read with me to my foal. He hops over and begins to read with me.
"Brae, I'm a mother. I love you. I'm the happiest mare in the world!" I whisper excitedly.
We kiss and soon we both drift off to sleep. We both wake up hours later, and we both had good dreams. I hum softly a song that Brae sang with me. I go to sleep after eating some food and dream about what she would look like. She looked like an Earth pony, with a rainbow mane, and light brown hooves. she was beautiful. I wake up after it was over. I fly outside and land on a cloud.
"Sweet dreams my little princess," I say to my baby.
Brae went back inside the house while I was out, because I still heard him and A.J. cheering for us. But then the lights went out suddenly so I think they both went to sleep after they made it to their rooms. I pull the cloud around me to make a warm blanket for me and my child. Then I go to sleep. I continue dreaming giving him or her names that will be appreciated everywhere in Equestria. Suddenly she walks closer to me and I notice that one of them is an Alicorn. I gasp as she tells me her name and who her mother was. Her race: Alicorn, her mother: me, and her name: Spirit.
I wake up with my heart pounding in my chest. I need to puke. I bolt to the bathroom and puke again. Brae was again right behind me.
"Brae. Our foal, is not normal. Dream, said so. Name is Spirit. She's, a girl," I spurt out.
"Spirit. I love that name. She'll love it. Come. Let's get you a yummy breakfast. Healthy for the two of you. Come on dear," he whispers into my ear right before he nuzzles it.
I follow him to the kitchen and A.J. congrats me. I eat breakfast slow and when I'm done I leave the house. I go to my bungalow and crawl under my covers and fall asleep. I think about names and my filly stands out with Lyme Light. A young mare with cold flames for a mane and tail, and a pure white coat. Her cutie mark is a yin and yang of the sun and moon. A very harmonic symbol. I wake up nervously and see a stallion in my view.
"Gosh Taboo. I thought I told you to leave me alone. Go away," I say drowsily.
"Stand up. Let me see you. It's been so long," he says out of the cloud.
I obey and he looks at my stomach. He frowns and begins to yell at me. I walk up close to his face and punch it.
"You are a sick guy. Go die Tab," I say sarcastically, "BRAE! HELP! BRAE!"
I bolt to my fiance that was bucking trees with his cousin and Mac. I cry into his chest as he holds me.
"Brae he knows," I cry.
"Babe. Who knows?" He asks.
"Him," I say pointing to the stallion that just popped up by us.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO HER YOU BUTTHEAD!?" Yells Taboo.
"Go die man. I did nothing. We made love to each other. So what. She got pregnant. So what. We love each other. You hate me and love her. She loves me and hates you. I love her and I hate you!" Shouts Brae the unicorn.
Brae got the message through and Taboo slapped me and popped away. I lay crying on the ground holding my face. I lay there, still crying.
"Brae?" I say.
"Hon. Oh my Celestia. Are you o.k.? The next time I see that taboo. He's gonna feel my wrath," He whispers.
I push myself up a little and tug on his mane. He looks down and helps me up. Being pregnant doesn't always work when you want to get up.

I slowly get up and kiss Brae. Holding my cheek which was now a bright red, we walked with him to the house. He got me some ice and kisses me on the neck. I giggle and pull on his now fluffy mane. When he gets angry his mane fluffs up. He notices himself that my stomach was bigger. A small smile spreads across his face. I suddenly feel dizzy and tumble to the floor blacking out. I feel Brae catch my head and shout for A.J. to get a doctor. I see 3 stallions, Celestia, Luna, 2 mares, 1 filly, and my baby all grown up. Well, a teenager. She trots up to me and gives me a hug.
"Mom. I need to show you my older brother," says Lyme Light in a warm tone.
I glance at the Alicorn stallion as he slowly walks towards me.
"Mom... How is she my mom Lyme? We are exactly the same and she is... normal. What happened to the mom you said we had. What our bodies were born in huh?! I'm and older son to this dumb Pegasus! What have you told me these 2 days huh? I can't communicate to her you turd! Only now you bring me with you to see my mom! Mom? Oh mi gosh I'm so sorry! Mom? Mom I'm sorry for what I said. I am Budros. I'm your son. Mom, what's your name?" Budros asks.
"Mon Ami. Budros, you're my son. But how does that work? Lyme was my first born. So she communicated for you? What do you want to be called when you're born? You must have a better name than that," I ask him.
"Uh," he says, "Anything you think is cool. I like the stars. I could raise the stars in my past life. So anything cool that relates to stars."
"Sirius or Castor, which one. They are the brightest stars in the sky. I think Castor is pretty good. Your name is Castor,"
