Chapter 1 pre-shock
It was 4:47 exactly, in precisely 13 minutes Star shine would exit his plain, boring, exactly the same every day office job. Every one else acted like zombies following every order blindly that "the man" throws out. Steve stared out the 25 floor window, He dosed off. The tan colt with black mane and a quill as a cutie mark and purple eyes sat peacefully in ignorant bliss unaware how his life would so drastically change in the next day...

Star shine jumps at this un expected noise the he regains his reason and sits up to see his beloved earth pony friend ink."rise and shine" said ink. Ink was a rather handsome stallion with a jet black coat and dark purple main and green eyes. "What time is it how much lunch did I miss" star said. "bout 2 minutes tell ya what lets go get some Chinese food on me." "Sounds good to me" star says.
They exit the building heading down the stairs outside of the building. There is a shouting of an old colt. This colt was dirty his mane and beard had condensed into dreadlocks he was wearing torn cloths with poster board on his chest and back
The Insane colt was shouting "THERE COMING, YOU DON'T BLIEVE ME DON'T YOU,
YOU'LL SEE YOU'LL ALL SEE HAHAHA THE END WILL SRIKE YOU, THE EARTH WILL TREMBLE, FIRE WILL CONSUME, BLOOD WILL RUN... You there!, you believe me don't you!" " I'm sorry are you talking to me." Says star. but before the raggity ass colt could say another word. out stepped a husky blue Police colt and he said "alright alright move along noting to see here" with much irritation.
They trot a small distance to a packed Chinese restaurant they step into line behind a woman with a young filly no more than seven, they wait. "Moooom when are we gunna eat immm ssooooo hhuuunnnggry". Says the filly in a bitchy whiney tone that kinda tone that deserves a hit, like a crying baby in a action movie but the mom refuses to leave. "about 15 minutes." says the calm but sternly irritated mother. about 15 minutes honey the mare says lovingly. now screaming "BUT MOM" says the filly. Oh he wanted trot up and smack that little shit so bad. "why did we have to get stuck behind this whiny brat!" Says the irritated earth pony. "they'll get up to the register soon enough" he says patently."NEXT!" Shouts the cashier. "oh! That's us" says the mother of the bitchy filly.(The mother and the child move towards the register).
"finally we're next."says ink(Ink rolls his eyes at the lack of enthusiasm in his voice.)" NEXT! may I take your order." Says the cashier. "yes I'd like the #2 with a tea, what do you want Star."(Star shrugs shoulders indifferently) he will have the #6 with a water." Says ink. "that'll be 12.57" says the cashier.
(They wait in line for about 5 minutes oblivious to the impending disaster. They receive their food. They finish eating. They step into Inks's black flatbed.)The car breaks down in the rush-hour traffic. "c'mon you retarded over-sized tin can!" Says the irritated unicorn. Steve is staring blankly out the passengers side window
A slight high pitched ringing was filling the noon air. John turned on the radio and he turned it to his favorite station, but instead of classic rock, a strange noise, like the combination of the brightest white noise you've ever heard, and the rapid flipping of channels on the radio. Then ZOOSH! A person sped by, followed by more and more, mares, children, stallions. Eventually a stampede of 10s of 1000s rushed by.a stallions voice shouted through a megaphone "STAY IN YOUR VEHICLES, REMAIN CALM, AND HEAD TO DESIGNATED EACU..." He was cut of by a grinding mechanical whir. When suddenly FOOSH!! The chopper was engulfed in blue beam of light. When it ceased all that was left was a small charred sphere of melted steel. "what the fuck" screams ink. "Well let's go" says the level headed earth pony. The car fails to turn over. A giant metal claw crushes the car to their right. I leaking fuel met with a spark and in no time what was just a giant claw trying to kill them, to a claw and an inferno all around them. Star and Ink are stuck in a car with fire all around them, and things trying to do whatever the hell these thing do. "Oh sweet celestia what are we gonna do!"says the panicking ink. "the back window!" Exclaims star, "what about it" says ink now hyperventilating. "let's bust it out." Says star proud of his smart and quick thinking. "no!" Exclaims ink. "why not ?" Star asked."because it'll break my window" ink shyly claims. " HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT I DONT GIVE TWO ROYAL SHITS ABOUT YOUR WINDOW!!!" Screams star. Star climbs to the back seat and lays his head on the arm rest and cocks his hind legs back and with much force kicks the shatter proof window.
"STOP!!!" Shouts ink.
Star with every ounce of force left slams the window. The window breaks and Star climbs out what used to be a truck window, Ink follows shorty after obtaining cuts all over. "good celestia this is madness." Says ink. "jump!" Chants star. "what?" Ink asked, but before he could protest star yanked ink over onto the hood of the car behind them. "if we keep going like this that we can get out of here." Says star. They jump from car to car dodging the inferno as the trek along. They make it to a evac station. they come across a desolate destroyed business district of manehattan, they sand there for waht seemed like hours jaws agape at the colossal clusterfuck that had become of their hometown.
"this cant be happening, this can't be happening, this can't be happening, THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING." Says the hyperventilating ink. SMACK!!! Star hits Ink across the face. "get ahold do yourself man!" Says the exausted pony. They move through the tunnels of the subway, just about to exit, everypony is silent. They are greeted by solders in full battle uniform assault riffles and gas masks are directing citizens for evacuation. Old wounded and disabled go on choppers, others on hoof or humvee. The lines were long, with ponies of all genders, ages, and races, ink had to be in hell. They get picked to help in a chopper. So they trot over to the platform. "common we got To go lets move move move." Says a burly stallion in BDU. As they pack into a blackhawk marked EAF. They are packing the chopper full of ponies. "we gotta go!" Says the mare in the pilots seat. "I'm bringing her up!" Says the co-pilot. The pilot waves a signal to the copper to their left to rase. Both coppers begin to fly off. After two minutes of quiet the chopper next to them gets hit by a bright cyan beam and explodes, the burnt remains are left. The copper picks up speed, Steve sees a Burnt corpse and a smoldering uniform. They ascend above the sky line, a low mechanical hum occurs. The chopper beeps.
"hold on to something!!!" Screams the pilot FOOSH!!!
An immense heat over comes their bodies they had been hit their helicopter left a plummeting fire ball of ponies. They see the vehicle of the attackers as they fall, as they plummet down helplessly hoping that some invisible force can save their lives that they held so close. Then the horrid noise of the wind ripping past their ears stops to be interrupted by a low mechanical hum....

THE DAY EQUESTRIA STOOD STILL
Chapter 2- awe.
The silence, he was still, it was surreal almost like a bad dream. Star closed his eyes for what would be the last time. He was awoken by the scream of a jet engine, several fighting machines move into formation. He broke sight with the jets to find ink unconscious from head injuries blood dripping from his head only to be caught by the gravity field. A hatch opens they begin to creep towards the opening. A loud boom occurred a large ball of fire blanketed the rear of the tripod. The vessel let out a horrid robotic scream, the field flickered dropping them onto a near by building slamming the already battered and bruised ponies onto the roofing with a slam.
The machine went silent. The lights went out. Then it let out a whirr increasing in volume and bass. Until it burst to life and turned around with quaking stomps. A cylindrical tube on the front started to rotate then it shot a blue laser at one of the jets missing it by an inch. The other jet tailing it was not so lucky it was struck the jet burst into a orange inferno burning bits falling to the city streets below.
Star slowly regains his sense and hoists his friend on his back and heads towards a open roof access door. The floor under them crumbles sending the two ponies through the roof onto the next floor down. Star struggles to pick ink up after two good tries he succeeds and shuffles over to the corner of the room and sets him down gently before collapsing with a grunt. Star looks up through the collapsed part of the roof where the fell in, he sees the gray-ish-blue tint of the clouds and thought "this is the last thing I'm going to see." He broke the silence with "Im comin' home." as his vision blurred and blackened as he slipped from consciousness, his breath slowed as the sounds of the attack began to dull, untill pure unadulterated silence.
BEEP BEEP BEEP, BEEP BEEP BEEP, the alarm sung star rose up from the bed. His vision blurred he stumbled into a tan hall. He recognised this hall! He sprinted through the hall and down towards a kitchen, where two old ponies were sitting eating breakfast. "MOM DAD!!!!" Star cried tears welling in his eyes. He attempted to make physical contact with them but they did not move or respond. The glasses adjourning the round table began to shake violently. The table crashed to the ground, spilling the meal onto the floor. Stars parents stood up and attempted to flee the shaking house. With a creaking snap a wall gave in trapping the father under a gaping portion of wood and nail. Meanwhile a candle that got knocked over in the kitchen set the tablecloth ablaze. The fire alarm rang in the kitchen. The contradicting support beam buckled breaking the main on the gas furnace. from the pipe erupted a cloud of eggy gas, which creaked trough the hall. When the greenish eggy gas reaches the buring table, a sky-shattering boom.
Star gasps, waking in a cold sweat his breaths are sharp short and erratic. Looking out the brand new skylight, courtesy of the giant fucking death machines! Seeing the sky glow with lasers, small arms fire, and burning skyscrapers. It makes an almost romantic glow. Star breaks the silence, splitting his bloody, swollen lips he says "It's funny how such a tragedy can be so beautiful." He turns his head to his right to seeing his incapacitated friend lying there on the dirty tile floor. Star raising his eyebrows "does that make me a psychopath?" Ink remained still, as if he was in a very deep sleep, a very very deep one...
