You might think you know about me, and how I became nightmare moon, but do you really know the truth?!! My sister... Celestia... she has told her story, but now it's my turn. I will be heard! -1000 years ago- As the sun beamed all over Equestria, and the birds sung their lovely songs in harmony, it was a beautiful day, but was sad and gloomy in so many ways. My sister and I was in the starswirl the bearded archives, looking for some old unfinished spells, when the door flung open. "Princesses!" A guard called. I turned to my sister and shrugged, confused on what the guard was yelling about. "uh... yes?" Celestia asked, her voice had gotten very serious. "Your mother... she asks for you and your little sister, she says it's urgent!" he exclaimed, I was shocked mother wanted to see me, she hardly ever wants to see me. It's always my sister she calls for, so whatever it is, it must be very serious... I glanced at my sister's expression it looked almost worried. "Tell her we are on our way!" Celestia ordered. The guard had done what he was told and left immediately, I was so confused, what did mother want to see me for? What was going on?!! I decided to save all my questions for mother. "Looks like our search will have to be postponed until tomorrow, alright little sis" Celestia said leading the way to mother's room, I just kept quiet, because I was worried, what if mother asks me to RULE over all of Equestria! But what would Tia do? When we reached mother's room there were guards standing everywhere and about every nurse and docter in Equestria."your daughters have arrived, your majesty" said a nurse with white fur and pink hair, I believe her name was nurse redheart. "Thank you, now may I please speak to them alone?" "yes your highness" the nurse replied, she motioned her hoof, to signal the others to leave the room, and once they all left it was as quiet as the night. My mother looked weak, and her eyes had a sad sparkling glow to them, I brushed a few red strands of hair out of her face, then suddenly she looked up and smiled. "I believe the time has came..." my mother whispered, every word she had spoke sounded more like a weeze. "Time for what!!!" I shouted, my voice was the same volume of the royal canterlot voice, and this was only my speaking voice, Celestia shushed me. "the time has came for my death." She paused, before finishing, "I shall give my position as ruler to my eldest, Celestia," I couldn't believe mother had just said that! She was giving the throne to Tia?!! I knew mother always loved Tia more then she had ever LOVED me! Suddenly a constant cough came from my mother and she looked up at the both of us and opened her mouth, yet nothing came out. "I...Love..." I couldn't stop the tears from streaming down my cheeks, the guilt built up in my throat making it hard for me to cough up my words." mother?!! MOTHER!!!" I screamed, Tia had put her wing around me, and held me close when my tears started making puddles on the floor, my sister demanded for a guard. "Take Luna to her room, and have somepony comfort her" Celestia ordered, the gaurd nodded and assisted me to my room, I cried sorrowfully, and awaited for mother to come into my room smiling... but she wasn't. ♥ ♥ ♥ Its been three months since mother passed, and harmony in Equestria has been maintained, my sister raised the sun for our delighted subjects and they had laughed and played during my sister's beautiful day and had slept through my night. My sister had claimed that if we continued this process, then Equestria would do fine, and I believed her, although I made it a habit to be jealous of my older sister. She was more powerful than anypony in the land, I told myself it was only temporary and that I shouldn't be green with envy, so I decided to just do my job as princess of the night and sooner or later I will be recognized and become the ruler of Equestria!!! //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapt.2 //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapt.2 Chapt.2 The rain thudded on the castle's roof. The weather ponies outdid themselves with this storm, it was the craziest they ever had. I sat in my room looking at the grayish-royal blue sky out the window, I wonder if mother was looking down at me from above....was that even possible? Tia has done well with her duty as ruler...but I could do WAY better than her. I kept telling myself don't envy Tia, don't envy Tia But my mind couldn't help it, SHE always gets the better stuff! Like the time we were little. Mother had gave Tia and I both our crowns, and for some reason Celestia's was better and bigger. I had always wondered why mother like Tia more, what did she have that I didn't??!! Things were starting to get to me, and I remembered all the times Celestia had gotten something better than me. Was I really not special? Did mother really not care for me as much as she had with Tia. OR WAS THERE JUST SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME??!!! AM I A FREAK? ~ ~ ~ The next morning, Celestia had woken early for her Duties. It was like a routine for her. Get up, Raise the sun, Go back to bed until it was about mid-morning, completed some royal papers, attended a few meetings, go to a few grand openings, come back to the castle have dinner, read some spell books, lowered the sun, and went to sleep. What do I do all day, hard to say...Mostly play tennis with Pixie, my maid and then snoop through TOP secret files in Celestia's room. Hey, that's what sisters do, right? Anyways, today was different...Celestia came into my room, opened the blinds and LITERALLY pulled my cover right off my head!!! Um...hello, it's called knocking!!! "Rise and Shine Luna, we have a big day ahead of us" Tia sang. We? That's the first time I heard we, in like months, and it made me actually all warm and happy inside because I was finally doing something with my life. "Wha-?" I said puzzled and trying to reach for my blankets, that were now on the floor. "There's so much to do, we have a breakfast to attend to in Saddle Arabia, Queen Crysta would like us to attend the crystal empires annual fair, not to mention her foal shower is right after" "Foal Shower? Who's pregnant?" I asked "Queen Crysta, remember?" Celestia reassured, oh I had totally forgotten about Queen Crysta's pregnacy, she was mother's closest friend, they were almost like sisters. Usually Tia and I addressed her as Aunt Crysta, but Every since Tia became "ruler of equestria" she believes we should address her as Queen... I only imagine the day Tia starts to go by Queen Celestia. "Celetia, have you forgotten that I, princess Luna, is the princess of the night? It is my duty to stay up all night and enter other's private dreams, I'm exhausted" I tried to make myself sound super drowsy and helpless, but I don't think she was buying my act. Tia rolled her eyes then headed for out the room. As she left I saw her mouth motion the words 'useless baby'. Uh... Excuse me your majesty, but I am absolutely not useless, and I'm absolutely not a baby! "Fine, I'll go to the breakfast and fair by myself, but I DO expect to see you at the foal shower. This is an order!" My sister yelled as she made herself down the hall. An order? Are you my mother? No! Just my annoying older sister of just 3 years, if I don't want to go to some foal shower, then I'm not going! Plus, does she not believe me about entering other ponies dreams?? I have saw somethings I didn't need to see... for instance, the one time Mr. Windleson the fan owner was taking a bath with his parrot, and the one when I saw PencilTop stick pencils up her nose, talk about gross! The worst one of them all was the one when MathmaticCalculator had about me and him having- NEVERMIND!!!! I struggled to get out of the bed, my pale blue mane messier than ever. This is ridiculous, just because we are royalty does not mean we need to attend every banquet, fair, and grand opening. Why can't they get somepony else famous to go to their stupid event... oh,I forgot there is no other famous ponies than celestia and I. And how dare she just come and waltz in to my room like nothing and pull MY covers off MY head? What is wrong with her??!! Oh well, I better get some rest I have at least 5 hours to spare, before that foal shower. So I think I'm just going to- ZZZZZZZZzzzzzz.
